Talla jumped in the air, eyes bright. "Good job, Khaz!" she cried, pulling a pokéball from her messenger bag. She tossed the ball towards the Hoothoot, watching as it was covered with a red light.
Khaz proudly walked up to Tal, flicking his tail as he did. <I did do a good job, didn't I?> he asked. Talla smiled and picked him up. "Of course Khaz. You don't mind that Hoothoot might join us right?" The vulpix shook his head.

As the Pokeball sucked in the Hoothoot, he recalled feeling a gentle pulling sensation as his body was dragged inside. Inside of the sphere, it felt soft and comforting. Nothing like the dark and scary place that he had imagined them to be, and it seemed like the perfect area for meditation. With an at peace sigh, the Hoothoot consented to his capture.
You've Captured:
::hoothoot:: Hoothoot Level: 7 Gender: Male Attacks: Growl, Tackle, Foresight
But before you can pick it up...
A Rattata that had just witnessed the attractive shake of the Pokeball was instantly at the scene, batting it playfully back and forth like a toy. No, it had no idea that there was actually something inside of it, but if it did it wouldn't have believed it. With a mischievous grin, the rat started to bat the Pokeball further into the woods and away from the path.
<Hehe...new toy! Fun!> It exclaimed, totally engrossed in its shiny new toy. It mostly liked it because it had a pretty red cover, and red was its favoritist color. Nothing could top it! Ever ever ever!

Khaz scrambled from Talla's arms, leaping after the Ratatta. "khaz!" Tal shouted. "Use Ember!" <You got it, Talla!> He yipped, bounding after the purple rat. <Hey! Ratatta!>
Khaz shot a burst of fire at the rat-like pokemon, hopefully distracting it. As Khaz attacked, Talla lept forewards and scooped up the pokéball from the forest floor. She held it up and looked at it. "Hello, Sir" she said, pocketing the ball. "I'll call you Dolce."
Shw turned her attention to the second battle and ground her teeth.

::rattata:: Pkmn battle ! Rattata was contented with batting the shiny, beautiful sphere until he heard footsteps quickly advancing towards him. Just as soon as he'd obtained it, the engrossing red and white sphere was snatched out of his grasp like it was nothing. At the same time, a plume of fire singed his tail. Giving a squeak, the rodent jumped away and rolled on the dirt until the flames were completely extinguished.
Looking up at the trainer that had snagged the ball, the rattata watched in dismay as she simply pocketed the thing. Didn't the trainer realize what that sphere meant to him? Well, he'd only played with it for a few seconds, but in that time a beautiful bond was shared between them. ):.
Giving a squeak of unhappiness, the rat lowered his gaze down to the ground - however, as he viewed the ground in front of him, he noticed the color of the Vulpix that was sitting next to Talla. Red, his most favorite color! Giving a squeak of excitement, the rodent rushed at the fox pokemon in an attempt to touch that lovely, beautiful fur.

Khaz lept back as the ratatta ran towards him, grabbing at his fur. <What are you doing?> he yipped at the rat. Talla took a breath. "Khaz. Use ember again. Okay?" The fox nodded and jumped back a few steps.
Another ball of flame was launched at the ratatta, hopefully stopping it in it's tracks.

The Rattata had been so close. It was able to feel, to smell that gorgeous fur. It had already started to dream about its softness and just how wonderful it would feel to snuggle against it. Unfortunately, that dream never came true as it was hit by the harsh flames of the ember. The rat let out a cry of pain.
<Ow! What was that for?> it asked. <I had never initiated an attack! All I wanted to do was touch that gorgeous fur of yours,> he continued to explain. The Pokémon backed off a bit to lick at its singed fur, trying to soothe the wound with slight tears in its eyes. That attack had been so uncalled for! Not only did that trainer take away that beloved red, shiny sphere, now that Pokémon was mean enough to shoot fireballs at it when he hadn't done anything wrong.

<Well, you shouldn't run at pokemon with trainers. They can get protective> Khaz muttered, jumping back. Talla knelt down next to the rat and smiled. "Im sorry, Rattata. You like the colour red?" without pausing, the trainer untied a ribbon from her bag and dangled it infront of the pokemon's face.
"You can't have the pokeball because it has someone in it, but you can certainly have the ribbon." Khaz walked forewards. <Im sorry> he said, ducking his head in apology.

Rattata blinked away the tears silently, and whimpered. >It-it's OK< he said sadly, hanging his head in shame and sorrow. >I just love red. It's the bestest colour in the whole wide world.<Upon seeing the ribbon, Rattata gawked, shivering in delight, his previous pain forgotten. He took the ribbon carefully, hooking one of his tiny claws through it and staring in awe. >It's so soft...< he exclaimed delightedly, and promptly rolled over, hugging the beautiful new gift close to himself, eyes closed, mouth open in a wide smile of total bliss as he rolled over. >Thank you thank you thank you!< Rattata rolled over again, before standing up, draping the ribbon over his back. >I'll never forget this. And I'll keep it clean and tidy all of the time, I promise.< The tiny purple rat was so happy he almost felt like he could burst from sheer joy, and began to trot away, ribbon trailing behind him. Rattata is leaving. Interfere?

Talla stood as the rattata moved towards the forest. "Bye Rattata!" she called. She looked down at Khaz. "Come on, we should keep going" her eyes were bright, and Talla leaned down, picking up the vulpix carefully. "Shall we go, Khaz." He nodded in reply and the pair started off once more, towards the city.
After a few hours, Talla glanced skywards. "Hehe. Guess what Khaz!" she continued without waiting for a reply. "Its almost morning!"

Indeed, it was almost morning, and Bellsprout was emerging from his bed of moss and leaves, stretching his own frail, leafy arms toward the sky. What a glorious day it was, perfect for some Berry picking. His thin arms absorbed the sunlight through photosynthesis, giving him enough energy to do just that. Not looking where he was going, he bumped into Talla's leg with a small >Ooomph.< Looking up at the Trainer, he bowed his head. >My sincerest apologies for that, good sir.< ::bellsprout::

Talla smiled down at the pokemon, her eyes bright. "Oh hello!" she said, leaning down. "Its fine. No harm done, right Khaz?" The vulpix nodded, and Talla sat down against a tree.
Khaz curled up next to Talla, his head resting on her leg. <Yup! No harm done!> he yipped. He turned his amber gaze towards the Bellsprout. "Im Talla, and this is my partner, Khaz!" She said, motioning to the fire type.

Noticing that the Vulpix was a fire type, the Bellsprout shifted nervously, but didn't run, or attack. They certainly seemed nice enough, and if things were to have ended in a battle, the fight would have already been started, right? That was usually how things worked on this route, which he'd noticed from past experience. Many trainers would attack you without warning, trying to toughen up their own Pokemon. Really, it was much more polite to just ask if he was up for a battle, rather than torching him from the get go!
<Greetings, Talia, Khaz,> the plant Pokemon said sincerely, bowing his head in polite acknowledgement of the two. <I must thank you for not springing an attack on me, you're rather kind for partners, if I do say so myself.> Definitely much, much better than being assaulted.
