Feeling the Growl go through him like a fragment of ice, Juno shuddered. He wasn't usually one to hesitate, but the fact that Meowth naturally scared the crap out of him was enough to make the Pidgey look to his Trainer for reassurance. "Juno! Look ou-" began Garret, but it was much too late. Rio's claws clamped around Juno's wing, ripping the delicate muscle, sinew and nerves that allowed the avian to fly so splendidly. Screeching in pain, Juno tore his wing free, leaving feathers and blood behind as a mark of the damage the Meowth had done, and suddenly became frozen while staring at those hungry eyes. What was this? Could it be? Juno had never expected it in a simple Trainer battle, and neither had his Trainer. Juno was afraid. While Garret was focussed on his Pidgey, Tick's defence was lowered by the Leer, before he was rather savagely slashed across the chest by the Zangoose's wicked claws. Letting out a hoot of pain, Garret was only thankful that Scratch wasn't something that brought fear to his Pokémon like Bite. Although he wanted to back up Juno and keep that Meowth at bay, Dagger was quite the threat as well. "Alright Tick. Use Hypnosis, and make it snappy."Tick nodded slowly, before turning to observe Dagger with that same dopey gaze, his eyes glowing a bright white as the Hoothoot swayed his head hypnotically (and stupidly) from side to side, letting out deep hoots of a soothing tone. Maybe if the Hypnosis succeeded, he could focus on sending Tick to back up Juno. That Meowth was way too much for Juno to handle by himself. Juno flinched.
Tick used Hypnosis on Dagger.

With a satisfied ‘humph,’ Rio circled around the terrified Pidgey, her eyes never leaving those of her prey. Fear was a strong enemy, stronger even than she herself was. As a cat, as a predator, she knew this quite well; using it to her advantage was a skill she was gaining only recently, though. It was fun.
Dagger kept his eyes on his own target, focusing so hard that he missed the trainer giving it instructions to lull him into a slumber. So, focusing on the Hoothoot as he began to sway and hoot hypnotically, it was only natural that he give in to the slumber that swiftly washed over him. Eyes drifting shut, he fell to the ground with a thud.
It was only this that made Rio avert her gaze. Down to two against one, huh? Not a problem. She could take it, easy. She met Kenna’s gaze; the blue-eyed girl had been scowling at the snoring Zangoose. Feeling her partner’s own eyes, however, she looked at Rio and nodded. ”You got this. Give another growl, then give Tick a taste of your bite, ‘kay?”
A low growl began rumbling in her chest as she glared, now, at the Hoothoot. Let this one feel fear, now. Maybe it would wipe off that stupid grin. Leaping through the air, she lunged towards the nocturnal bird.
::meowth:: Growl and Bite on Tick.
::zangoose:: Fell asleep.

Juno { Level 6 } (Attack -1) Sand Attack and Tackle on Rio Tick-Tock { Level 7 } Hit by Bite Growl and Tackle on Rio
- The Meowth continued to circle around him, making his body burst into a round of frightened trembles. It was unstoppable, a feeling that he could not completely escape from. Something like a nightmare, really, that this trainer battle would have something within it that would be no different than the troubles he had in the wild. He didn't want to go back there, he might've complained to Garett when he was first given to him as a Starter, but he liked the safety of a human.
- He didn't want his life to be taken though! If Garett ever pushed him, then of course he would run away! The thought was tempting, but as his body relaxed from the flinch, the Meowth seemed to have other worries. Dagger went down. Things were changing. With a fearful tremble of his wings he shot into the air, staying close to Rio as he circled above head. Now that it would be two against one for a bit, he wasn't as nervous as before.
- "Keep trying your best, s-so don't worry." Garett encouraged, knowing that she was probably concerned that she would lose in this two versus one match. Not that it was permanent, as Pokemon typically didn't stay in the sleep status for long.
- <I no want cheeseburger!> The Hoothoot freaked as the Meowth lunged at him with those sharp fangs. He saw what happened with Juno, and he didn't want it to happen to him. He let out a pained squeak as the Bite sunk in his body, and it was right then that Garrett decided to call some orders.
- "Weaken it bit by bit. Sand Attack and Growl. Then Double Tackle." He nodded towards the birds, confident that they could handle things from here. The Hoothoot let out a humble growl, trying to reduce the damage from Rio's attacks while Juno came in from behind, kicking up a spray of sand around the pair. After the attacks had enough time to settle in, the pair worked on squishing the Meowth between their two Tackles.

In response to the encouragement, Kenna nodded and bit her lip. She wasn’t concerned, not at all. Rio could take both of those feathered creatures blindfolded.
<Oh, I don’t think so,> growled the Meowth, dodging the spray of sand that headed towards her. The growl, unfortunately, distracted the cat enough that both tackles collided with her pale body, and she hissed in pain. Sandwiched between the Pidgey and Hoothoot, there was not much she could do save wriggle fiercely to escape.
”Claw Juno!” Kenna called out, eager to remove the bird who could potentially lower her Meowth’s accuracy. Kenna responded by lashing out at the Pidgey with both paws, wicked claws extended.
And Dagger dozed on.
::meowth:: Dodged Sand Attack, hit by Growl and both Tackles. Used Scratch on Juno.
::zangoose:: Sleeping.

"Juno!"Blood slowly dripped from the many open wounds covering the pidgey's body as it backed away, wincing from the fresh scratch attack that had struck him in the chest. He was weak, on the verge of collapse, and there really wasn't much pokemon or trainer could do about it. "Come on Juno Sand Attack again, and then another tackle! Tick foresight then tackle as well! Garret called out, biting his lip as he watched his pokemon slowly shift into gear. Each laboured movement Juno made, even as he kicked up the sand attack tore at the trainers heart. He didn't like seeing his pokemon so badly injured...but he couldn't back down now. Maybe...maybe if he won this girl would realize violence wasn't the answer? As he watched his two flying types zoom in for another tackle combo, Garret hoped the meowth would fall. ::pidgey:: Hit by Scratch! Weak. Juno used sand attack and Tackle on Rio!
::hoothoot:: Tick-Tock used foresight and Tackle on Rio!

Rio was unable to dodge this next spray of sand that was scattered in her face by that pesky bird. With a yowl of irritation, the Meowth started pawing madly at her face in an attempt to remove the grains of sand from her eyes. Thus distracted, she was hit again by both tackling bird Pokemon. Thrust backwards, she glared fiercely at them each in turn, ignoring the stinging sensation caused by the sand. She was weakening, but she was still standing strong.
Slightly disturbed by the hullabaloo, Dagger shifted slightly in his sleep, but did not waken. Kenna sighed, having been watching the zangoose hopefully, then turned to Rio. "Growl at Tick, then finish the Pidgey, okay?"
<Gladly,> the Meowth replied, growling at the Hoothoot fiercely, fending him off, before lunging at the bird who she rather thought needed a few more scratches on those torn wings of hers.
::meowth:: Hit by Sand Attack and both Tackles. Used Growl on Tick, then Bite on Juno.
::zangoose:: Still snoozing.

Juno { Level 6 } Knocked Out. Tick-Tock { Level 7 } (Attack -1) Hypnosis on Rio
- 'Argh. Why? Juno, poor guy...' Garett's thoughts went right towards the Pidgey as he became weak enough to the point where they really could finish him off in one hit. Even Kenna seemed to be aware of this, and ordered one of Meowth's strongest attacks on the bird before he could escape. Those sharp fangs punctured into the Pidgey's body, making him cry out in fear and pain, though not enough to induce death.
- Knowing that letting Juno battle anymore was a mute cause, he silently returned the Pidgey back into his Pokeball, knowing he could always give him a pep talk later. He wasn't going to send out his last Pokemon, seeing that he needed to get out of the route in one piece. So now it was up to Tick.
- "Hypnosis on Rio, Tick. Don't be intimidated by them." He exclaimed, knowing that the Zangoose would wake up at any moment. With a proud hoot, the Hoothoot tried his best to ignore the Growl as hypnotic waves were sent towards the weakening Meowth.
