"Because you don't give anyone much of a choice?" Chris asked, a little laughter in his voice too. He was still shivering rather hard, but it was slightly more bearable now. "Thank goodness for Abel and this Delibird" he thought. "I don't want to get Arcane worried about me too."

Caught off guard by his comment, Karyn stifled a surprised gasp. Maybe he was right. "Well they can always just run away," she muttered, wiping snow away from her eyes. The storm worsened as they walked, and every so often she glanced back at Chris, making sure the boy was still alive.

Of course, Chris was still alive, but he was getting a lot colder. Frost had begun to gather on his arm despite Abel and the Delibird. <Not good> Abel muttered.

"Keep it together kid, we're almost there," She growled. Shedding her thick coat, she handed it to him. "I'm used to the cold. You, on the other hand, look about as warm as a chicken without feathers."

Slowly getting the coat on, Chris began to feel a little warmer. "Thank you" he told her, smiling through the remaining cold. Maybe things were going to look up for him after all. But, one problem still remained. "So far, I haven't found a single doctor in any of the towns" he admitted.

"Not many people get sick around here," Karyn replied stiffly, shivering a bit. Of course she'd never let anybody see her weakness - it was just how she was. Thick-skinned (and thick-headed), she pressed onwards, eventually spotting a cabin in the distance.
"There. It's up there," her pink gloved finger pointed to the snow-covered building shakily. "You're going to be okay?"

"I think so" Chris admitted, looking at her. Feeling a little worried, he asked "What about you? Even you, being used to the cold, has to be feeling a little cold by now?"

Karyn laughed, brushing off his comment easily. "Of course. I was born on these mountains, and I'll probably die on them. Don't worry about me. I'm going to go find some weakling to beat," she grinned, clutching a red-and-white pokeball in her gloved hand.
Deep down, she hoped she was wrong about the dying part. She secretly wanted to see the beach, although she'd never admit it.

"Well, what am I supposed to do?" Chris asked, having to release his Gallade. "Just stay there for a while until I get better?" Suddenly remembering something, he thought 'Maybe there's a Plate around here. Wouldn't hurt to summon Arcane to see if he can detect it.'

Karyn was already too far away to hear. The thin girl made good time, even in the snowstorm. She hummed to herself, and looked for another opponent, even forgetting her coat. She didn't forget Delibird, though. The pokemon happily waddled behind it's trainer.

"Okay, so I guess I am staying here for a while" Chris sighed, slowly making his way into the cabin. When he felt the coast was clear, he released Arcane. "Any chance you can do a Plate scan?" Chris asked, sounding slightly hopeful. "Chris, that's impossible for me to do" the legendary admitted. "I did not have a power that allows me to find the remaining parts of my power."

Luckily for you, there was an object sitting just below the snow...
It glittered slightly, before becoming completely buried. Better hurry.

Caring more about his mission than himself, Chris rushed out, shortly followed by the others. The four began to dig furiously, trying to unearth the item before it was too late. "Come on..." Chris muttered, feeling his fingers becoming numb.

A shattered and cracked fragment of blue was unearthed. Looks like somebody's already taken the other half, as it's nowhere to be found. You received: Cracked Icicle Plate not usable until the other half is obtained.

((Damn! You enjoy this don't you? lol))
"Arcane, we have some good news, and bad news" Chris admitted, taking the plate. "The good news is we found the Icicle Plate. The bad news...it's broken." Arcane suddenly seemed furious. "HOW CAN MY PLATE BREAK!?!?" he yelled, most likely going to cause an avalanche.

ooc - yes. yes I do. maybe you'll find the other half along the route somewhere... Right on the money! The mountains surrounding the area gave a very human groaning sound, spilling their built up snow on the valleys below. A wall of white rushed Chris' way, threatening to swallow everything up. Including the cabin. Good job.

Chris was totally frozen, unable to move from his fear. "I'm not going to make it away in time" he said, having to be dragged by Arcane. "Even I can't get us out of this mess" he sighed, really wishing the plate was repaired. Then he'd be able to stop this simple avalanche. Realising the only possible option, the four rushed into the cabin as quickly as possible.

Sprawled out on the couch, a tiny Pokémon snored contently, completely unaware of the advancing trainer. It had somehow found it's way into the cabin, and was now taking up quite a sizable chunk of the only couch in the place.

Still feeling the cold despite the fact that they were now in the cabin, Chris took a look at the Swinub. "Dark Frost, try to talk to it. It should be easier for you, as you're both Ice types" he said. The Weavile gave a nod and walked towards the Pokemon. <Hello?> he asked, curious as to how it could be sleeping despite the avalanche that had just occured. <Could you help us?>

One of it's large eyes opened lazily. <What do you want> it mumbled, flipping over. An ice-type, it wasn't afraid of the snow. It could live underground for months at a time, so a little avalanche didn't worry it in the least.
