s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra continued staring downward, feeling the pressure of the girl's eyes scrutinizing her. What if she really didn't deserve to have Pascal? She directed her eyes towards him again, but his face was oddly passive. She began to think this wasn't her Buizel at all - until he winked at her with a small grin at the edge of his lips.
She had no time to respond to this, as Alice suddenly gave an outburst about trainer numbers or something. "O-oh! Yeah!" Sierra replied, nearly jumping from surprise. Immediately when the girl mentioned pokedexes, she rooted around in her bag and removed it, brushing it off before turning it on. "Yeah, yeah." She said, waving off the 'pound' comment. Like she'd allow any of her pokemon to be sent to that miserable place!
"I think this is it?" Sierra said, holding up the pokedex tentatively. She'd paused the screen on Pascal's registered profile.

"] Panda had hardly glanced at the poke'dex and he was ready to hand the Buizel back over to Sierra. He tugged at his trainer's arm and was pointing furiously at Sierra. <"Oh please Alice. You're gonna make her upset!" He tried to urge his trainer. Alice brushed off her beloved poke'mon to get a look at the poke'dex herself. She leaned in rather close, holding Pascal close to her body while she studied the screen of the poke'dex as if it held the answer to the meaning of life or something less ridiculous than the game they were playing right now. "This looks legitimate." She said softly, leaning back and holding out Pascal to Sierra. "I guess he is yours." Panda was nearly leaping up and down, happy bubbles radiating from his large frog-mouth. Alice was smiling sweetly, but there was a fierceness in her eyes as she quickly pulled Pascal back. "How about a one on one poke'mon battle first though?" She was bored.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Pascal gave a small squeak as the foreign trainer suddenly began squeezing him closely to her body, prompting a muffled giggle from Sierra's lips as she continued holding the pokedex toward Alice' fierce gaze. Jeez, she had some intense eyes. "Uh, yeah. Totally." Sierra agreed, not even knowing she had IDs for every one of her Pokémon in the first place. But it worked, at least. Soon Alice was holding the Buizel out to her, and she smiled and reached for him in turn, but the girl suddenly pulled back, causing Sierra to nearly lose her balance. "Hey!" She snapped. But then the girl challenged her to a battle. Sierra gave a little sigh of disappointment, but soon smiled back at Alice. "Fine, if you insist," She responded.
She then turned around, then crossed a small distance and turned to face Alice once more. "Hm.. I know one that needs experience.." She muttered inaudibly to herself. Then, raising her head slightly, she pulled out Keos' pokeball and released him. "Go, Keos!" She commanded. The Elekid emerged, Lucky Egg hanging from his neck like a piece of jewelry. "You can have the first move," She told the trainer. ::elekid:: Gender: Male Level: 14.5 Abilities: Static Attacks: Quick Attack, Leer, Thundershock, Low Kick Personality: A calm and collected individual. Alice tried to hide the smile on her face when she saw the electric type. Panda might be a water type, but he was also a ground, making him immune to electrical shocks. Hopefully the girl wouldn't know about it. It'd make for a nice surprise. "Come on, Panda! Let's show her how it's done," she told her pokemon.
The Marshtomp almost couldn't believe that his trainer was going to make the other one battle for the buizel. That water pokemon did not belong here. He was the only one Alice should ever pay attention to. The sooner he was gone, the better. That would mean he had to finish this battle quickly.
"Why don't you start off with a Mud Slap?" Alice was going to start easy on Sierra, choosing a weaker move, hiding Panda's real strength. She wanted to see how strong of a trainer the other girl was, first. The marshtomp waited just a bit to make sure the other pokemon was ready before he jumped into the water diving to the bottom before popping back up, standing on the wooden railing as he hurled a little wad of mud toward the electric type.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra grinned as the excitement of battle began to well up in her. Despite her apparent resistance to the idea at first, she was already getting into the flow before it began. Taking a deep breath, she watched as the Marshtomp executed its first move - a Mud Slap. Keos stood steadfast against it, but gave a loud cry of pain as the mud splashed on him and muffled his flow of electricity. Sierra didn't realize it was a super effective move, though.
Sierra thought for a moment. The Marshtomp LOOKED like a water type, but it knew a ground attack. She decided she might as well play it safe. "Umm, go with Leer and Low Kick!" Sierra commanded tentatively. A challenging smirk appeared on the Elekid's face before he narrowed his eyes and directed a fearsome glare at Panda. After, he dashed toward the larger pokemon and attempted to kick him in the legs. ::elekid:: ACC -1 Gender: Male Level: 14.5 Abilities: Static Attacks: Quick Attack, Leer, Thundershock, Low Kick Personality: A calm and collected individual. 'Uh-oh. He's coming at me!' The Marshtomp was annoyed that he was fighting for such silly reasons, especially when Alice had been focusing a bit too much on that Buizel. He shook a little from the Leer, before grunting and glaring back at the Elekid. Panda still had to show a good front for Alice, otherwise she would get a bad impression of him! He tried to dodge the Low Kick, but he ended up being tripped by it and fell head first into the mud. Not his prettiest form, but at least he could maneuver well on slippery mud.
'Well, ok. Elekid is an electric type...it could have static. I forgot. Oh, I wish I read that Pokémon Handbook a little more.' Alice bit her lip, but also decided that she should play along with the pure water type thing for now. Wouldn't water gun make it more believable?
"Growl and Water Gun!" The swimmer cried, pointing at the Elekid with an excitable grin. Panda immediately let loose an angry Growl at the electric type, especially because it tripped him. Then, he shot a glob of water at him, hoping to score some damage.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n The Elekid backed up a little after landing the Low Kick on the opposing beast, breathing a little. His eyes still stung from the mud that was still clouding them. Before he could blink again, the Marshtomp was back up and facing him. The growl caused him to flinch in fear, lowering his courage slightly; the following Water Gun then chilled him to the bone, causing him to shiver. At least it wasn't as bad as the Mud Slap, though.
The opponent seemed like a water more and more, so Sierra decided to take her chances. "Leer again, and Thundershock!" She commanded, but felt a sudden feeling of dread in the back of her head.
The Elekid didn't realize her command was in vain and promptly carried it out, directing another sharp glare at Panda before focusing a strong spark of electricity toward him.

'Hah. Fell for it.' The Swimmer nodded to herself, perhaps a bit too revealing that Sierra had done something bad. Could she retract her attack in time? Well, the girl wouldn't give her the chance. Panda and her would be like a ninja, and go all up in their bizzzness. The Leer was as shocking as before, but considering the attack that was used with it, Panda was not worried.
He took it while standing perfectly still, letting the electricity dance down onto his toes before finally into the ground. It hurt his eyes a little, but his body was physically fine. Immune to it, even. "Now Panda! Mud Shot!" She cried, using their secret weapon at what she considered the perfect moment.
The Marshtomp started winding his arms in a circular motion, like a windmill, to power up the glop of mud in his mouth. The pressure built up, and he finally released the splatter at the Elekid. How was that for a handsome romantic hero?

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Egad! Sierra could almost sense the lack of worry in the other pokemon as the electricity came at him; heck, he didn't even move! Then she realized that she'd made a stupid mistake: the Marshtomp was immune to the attack. A quick scan with her pokedex revealed that the pokemon was half ground, a telltale reason why the attack missed.
Before she could look up and command her pokemon to dodge, the glop of mud was already soaring through the air toward him. It splattered all over the poor Elekid's face, shoving him over from the force and knocking him out. "Urgh.." Sierra groaned, reaching her arm out and calling back the fallen pokemon. "I'm not done yet, though! Go, Wick!" She called, tossing out one of her remaining party members - a Gastly with his tongue playfully hanging out of his mouth. He appeared just a tad nervous at the thought of battle, but Sierra's silent stare behind him was enough to convince him to fight.
"Shadowball!" She ordered. Gathering dark energies in front of him, the growing orb was eventually fired at full force toward his blue-colored adversary. ::elekid:: Hit by Mud Shot (SE)! Fainted! "] The blue and orange Marshtomp tried to leap and do an impressive cartwheel in order to dodge the shadowball. However, he was wet and everything around the bridge was wet. He slipped and landed on his back before he ended up being blasted by the shadowball. Alice winced. "Panda!" Panda, responding to his beloved's call pushed himself back up to his feet and opened his wide frog mouth. A stream of water suddenly appeared and flew quickly towards the Gastly. "Nice Water Gun!" Alice said, and Panda was beaming with pride.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra gave an impolite giggle as she saw the Shadowball hit Panda, but pressed her hand to her mouth to stop. "Sorry, it looked funny." She confessed with amusement. Soon another attack came, however. "Quick, try to dodge!" Sierra called out. But her quick command was to no avail, as the Gastly wasn't fully in the groove of the battle yet. The water splashed into his face, causing him to emit a hiss of pain.
Nothing seemed to be working for her so far - her lack of experience was catching up to her. If this was a one versus one battle, she would've already lost by now, Sierra realized. She was unsettled, but she had to give the command regardless. "Shadowball again," She said, trying not to make reckless decisions. The young swimmer had nothing but good thoughts in her mind; she knew that her Panda would be able to overcome this battle. It was now time for her to kick it into high gear and dominate this match. ”We can do this Panda!” she yelled with courage trying to instill a victorious attitude onto her Marshtomp. Panda nodded and felt powerful, he ran into the shadowball and sort of cringed as it hit. Slowly, but surely his health points were dwindling. ”Use Bide!” she shouted as her Marshtomp charged up and stored energy this round. In a few turns, he would have enough damage to destroy the Gastly in front of him.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Wick smirked as he saw that the Panda had simply run into his attack, but it worried him as well: perhaps the attack wasn't doing so much damage as he thought. But he pushed the issue to the back of his mind when he saw that the trainer was about to give her next command.
Bide? Sierra was surprised that they were using such a risky attack this far into the battle, when the Marshtomp could faint at any second. It worried her, regardless. "Wick, try a Night Shade!" Sierra commanded. Obediently, the ghost aimed toward the Marshtomp and launched a series of hallucinogenic waves at him that would cause damage equal to his level if it hit. ::gastly:: Gender: Male Level: 17 Abilities: Levitate - Not hit by Ground-type attacks Attacks: Hypnosis, Lick, Spite, Mean Look, Perish Song, Thunderbolt, Shadowball, Night Shade Personality: Although he has a creepy exterior, this friendly ghost is nothing but love and hugs on the inside. Swimmer Alice had a very sinister smile, the girl thought she had been so clever when it came to her Marshtomp using the bide attack. Bide was a move that took all the damage that was done onto the user for two or three turns and doubles the power releasing it onto the foe. However, she didn’t remember that normal type moves had no affect on ghosts. She would be surely mistaken soon enough, when it came time for her pokemon to use Bide on the opponent.
”Just keep it up. Endure and relax, you can make it.” the Marshtomp nodded and was hit with the Night Shade, the water pokemon was very weak so far and he just hoped that he could last long enough to use his trump move.
”You got it. Keep it up” Alice continued to cheer on her Marshtomp just waiting for him to use his ultimate move.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra bit her lip in worry; the Marshtomp hadn't fainted yet, and even looking weaker, it didn't seem like it would faint before he released the Bide. But she felt she had to have faith in her Gastly. Besides, taking a chance once in a while would provide a good learning opportunity (unforunately, Sierra was the type that found it hard to learn from mistakes anyway.).
It was her turn to call an attack again. "Now Shadowball again!" Sierra ordered. The foggy ghost-type grinned wildly as he gathered up more energy in front of him, firing the ball of pure shadow toward the Marshtomp. How he loved using the move; it was like playing dodge ball. Panda fell to his knee as the Shadowball collided with his body. Was he going to make it? He had to! Alice was relying on him. He could not let her down! Besides, he had to show her how much better a water pokémon he was over that silly buizel, didn't he?
Despite being near to fainting, the Marshtomp somehow managed to hold on to that last shred of energy. It was time... time to unleash the powerful attack over the Gastly. He would have laughed if he'd the energy to do more than focus the power at the Gastly.
"Nice job, Panda... Now do it!" the fiesty swimmer commanded.
The stored energy blasted out from the Marshtomp. Every ounce of pain he had gone through during the store time was contained in that single move. He slumped as the energy was unleashed. He didn't have much left in him, he didn't have any energy left at all bar the scrap that was keeping him on his knee.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra let out a gasp as the Marshtomp released the energy it was gathering. "Look out, Wick!" She cried, covering her mouth with her hands. Would the ghost pokemon survive the attack? A flash of white signalled the attack's release, and the ghost type found himself unable to avoid it - except, he somehow did. Bide, it turned out, was a Normal type move, making ghost type pokemon immune to it.
Opening her eyes again, Sierra was stunned to see that the Gastly remained on the field in near perfect condition. "Woah.." She said. "OK, so you somehow dodged it! Great!" She exclaimed, forgetting that Bide was a normal type move. "Now Hypnosis and Lick!" She shouted, trying out his other moves for a change. Using the same ones over and over was pretty boring.
The ghost type complied, though a bit hesitant. Aiming for the Marshtomp's head, he fired of a line of hypnotic waves that he hoped would induce sleep in the creature. When that was done, he floated towards the water type and attempted to roll his fat, pink tongue over his opponent's chest. Crap, poor Panda was going to go down soon, and he was the only Pokemon she had on hand. Sure, it was two against one, but it was still rather fun. <It isn't your fault, darling!> The Marshtomp tried to make her feel better, but he was oddly sleepy. Was that Gastly started to multiply, or was it just him? He woozily swayed from side to side before passing out on the ground, out of sleep, not from exhaustion.
"...fiddlesticks." The swimmer winced as Panda was licked by the ghost, a taunt of some kind. Goodness Panda! She hoped he woke up soon, because she really wanted to fix this mess as soon as possible!

Swimmer Alice cringed as she saw her only pokemon on the floor, sleeping when she was in the middle of a pokemon battle. ”Wake up please.” she waited hoping that her Marshtomp would wake up soon enough. The lick attack hit the Marshtomp and all of the remaining health that the water pokemon had was now depleted. She returned him into his pokeball and went away in tears. ”Goodjob.” she cried as she ran off to the pokecenter.
gastly gained one level. elekid gained half a level. (feel free to question me, i'll retort my decision)
There's a small fork in the road, one road leads to a nice small lake where pokemon reside, and the other continues on the path to the second city. The second path was darker and lead through a part of the route where the light had been devoured by large trees. which one shall you choose? (Nothing relevant. Just adding fluff. Choose a side~)
