The laboratory was left behind quickly, although the girl had to stop every few feet in order for her Pokémon to catch up. It was strange, having to adapt to life with another; the idea should not have been so hard for her to grasp, but she had been alone for so long now. Having to wait for the little Pokémon to catch up to her was frustrating, and it quickly sapped Winnifred of her enthusiasm. If the travel was going to take this long, then maybe she should return the Pokémon? The girl would never get far on this adventure, if the pace continue like this. The Togepi was eager to follow, but she thought her trainer was being inconsiderate - a change from the girl she had seen in the lab, but she was hopeful. The creature toddled after her excited trainer with her own excitement, and managed to reach her without stumbling. "Togepi?" She chirped, while looking up at Freddie.
"You're so slow. We'll never get to Celestic Town at this pace." Winnifred's arms rose in exasperation, a clearly dramatic addition to her words, trying to make her point seem valid by flailing. Togi tried to swerve her egg out of the way, ducking and rolling inside of her egg-cellent outfit, before popping back to her feet again. The flailing didn't scare her; she clapped and whistled with happy sounds. "Geeze," The girl mumbled, stretching her hands out behind her head and taking a few steps - Togepi followed quickly, striking up a beat with her "Toge-" and "Pi!" sounds.
They marched, with Winnifred falling in to step with her new friend. The girl let out a loud yawn, and as she started to stretch out her arms, the starter's Pokeball fell out of her sleeve. It bounced against the ground - when the girl saw it, she thought it would roll, and there was an instant panic that set in to her movements. As Winnifred lunged for the object, it did something she did not expect at all; it opened, and blinded her with a flash. When the light faded, she was left to blink and rub her eyes, lost in a state of confusion - but wait, where was... "Togepi?" She questioned the air, as she turned around. But... But she was right behind her just a second ago! "Togepi?! Where'd you go Togi?"
Did she just lose her first Pokémon ever? "Oh no," The girl chortled, her voice filled with worry and confusion once again, "How did I lose her this fast?!" Little did she know that the Pokeball at her feet was now housing her little, egg-shaped beast. She was in such a state of frenzy, that the girl was unable to notice the ball's slight twitching. Obviously, Togi wanted out - but how long would it be, before Freddie realized what was going on? All she could do now was flounce around, her sleeves adding an extra comedic element to her movements; and she backtracked her steps, following the path they had been on, in search of the Pokémon. She didn't get far before she spotted the ball, and she absently picked it up again, but still remained oblivious to it's contents.

you know i can make your a wild Pokémon ! >YEAH!< the Swablu bobbed around in the air, not really paying attention to anything in particular. She was getting dirty looks all over, and honestly, she couldn't care less. >OH YEAH!< she yelled out, hoping to get some more people stirred up and mad. >I LOVE TO SIIIIING ~ AND DAAAAAANCE ~ AND DAAAAAAANCE ~ AND SIIIIIING ~< Someone eventually threw a rock at her and she fell out of the sky. The nerve of some people was just hilarious, but she didn't care. There was a sharp pain in her wing every time she moved it, and she was pretty sure it was broken. Where could a little Pokémon like that go, and why couldn't she find it?! Winnifred let the pokeball slide in to her sleeve, or she tried, but found that the sphere was somehow bigger than before. It rolled against her arm and was very uncomfortable, leaving an unsightly bulge by her elbow, as if she had been stung by a Beedrill or something. How peculiar! When had the ball gotten bigger? As the girl thought about this, she let the ball roll out of her sleeve and in to her palm; it took a level of skill that she was unaware of having. Freddie observed the ball and gradually realized it had grown, which meant... What, that the ball had eaten her Pokémon? Wasn't this something that belonged to Togepi though? The professor had said so. What if he had tricked her after all? Oh no, oh no no no! The ball must have eaten her little Pokémon friend! Winnifred stopped walking, and only stared at the ball in her hand, a sense of horror becoming visible upon her young face. "Oh no, Togi! I killed you! I k-k-killed you!" The sudden (wrong) realization made Winnifred's face crumple, and she began to feel the warm rolling tears as they poured from her eyes. It was so uncharacteristic of her, especially when the human and the monster had only been together for a few hours. 'I'm so stupid! I'll never see Togi again, and I'll never get back to Celestic Town, or see Grandmother, or,' Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a rather obnoxious noise.
"SIIIIING ~" What was that? "AND DAAAAAANCE ~ AND DAAAAAAANCE ~" Freddie sniffled and began moving in the direction of the sound, giving in to her curiosity in this time of utter panic. Maybe whoever was making the noises could help her? She could only hope. By the time she arrived near the sounds, they had stopped rather abruptly; all she could see was a useless rock in the middle of the path. "Um," Winnie muttered, dragging one of her sleeves across her face, "Hello?" Her voice barely carried, but it didn't need to - she could see something moving in the distance, so she proceeded towards it.
"Oh, you're a Pokémon." The girl stated, looking down at the stranded bird-Pokemon as it pirouetted along the path. Winnifred was still holding on to the Togepi's pokeball, and as she realized this, the contraption was drawn close to her chest. She clutched it carefully, as if it were about to fall from her hands and be lost forever. "Um, Pokémon?" Maybe this would work, but then, maybe this creature couldn't understand her. The Togepi could, so maybe this bird would as well? "Do you know what this is?" As the question left her lips, Freddie held the ball out in her fingers, close enough to the bird so that it could look at it, but still ready to withdraw the object if anything terrible were to happen. Maybe the bird knew how to free her Togi?

you know i can make your a wild Pokémon ! The Swablu was watching Freddie from where she was kind of forced to be grounded. What a silly kid, not even knowing that her poke'mon resided in the red-and-white contraption. Sadly, it seemed like the kid had no clue that her little contraption that was held out to the bird's face was actually what held her poke'mon. So, when the girl held the little thing out to her, the Swablu responded by going to press her beak to the button in the middle, like she'd seen trainers do. Now if the trainer were to let her actually continue with her little doings, that would be another thing. But somehow, she doubted that Freddie would let her actually press it, but it was worth a shot. >You can open it. . . Some are empty and some can hold poke'mon. I hope this one isn't empty. . .< she mused aloud. The bird did not try to run away from her, which was a good sign. However, it reached for the ball, and Freddie was tempted to withdraw it; she was not quick enough though, and as the central button clicked, there was a flash of light. The girl heard what the bird had to say, but she was distracted by the sudden burst of brightness - shielding her eyes with one floppy sleeve, until the spastic illumination died down. When she emerged from the protection of her sleeve, Winnifred saw a familiar face standing in front of her - Togi was back, and the bird had been telling the truth! She felt a smile burst on to her face as she went to kneel beside the Pokemon, eager to hug it - however, the Togepi did not want her company. The egg beast made a "harumph" noise, and sat down (trying to cross those tiny arms, but she couldn't). "Toge" The baby Pokémon mumbled, obviously annoyed that she had been 'balled for so long. Freddie of course, was confused. "I thought the ball had eaten you!" She nearly shouted, feeling her concern melt away.
The bird-Pokemon was still in their company, and so Freddie decided to leave her Togepi alone for the time being; focusing on the blue creature who was not flying away. "Thank you, Pokémon!" She squeaked with enthusiasm, while taking a better look at the Swablu's fluffy wings. "You sure have fluffy wings," She commented absently, staring at the balls of fluff as they twitched in the breeze; one of them was at an odd angle, which brought concern back to Freddie's face. "Are you hurt? Do you need help?" It was the least she could do, after the Swablu saved Togi.
Togi on the other hand, was still quite annoyed at her trainer. What kind of trainer didn't know what a Pokeball was? And now the girl was talking to this bird, which made the baby Pokémon more agitated. It was her trainer, not his! (At this point, Togi couldn't distinguish between genders that well.) While the two beings conversed, Togi rolled to her feet and took a step between them, her lower lip trembling as if she were about to cry. "Piiiii!" She whined, and as her voice resonated with one melodic tone, she began to glow faintly. The glow died down quite fast, but the child's future sight attack had been coded in to the time stream; at some point in the future, this bird would get what it deserved. Stealing her trainer away! Pah.
Winnifred saw the little Pokémon waddle out, but she did not try to stop her - maybe the Togepi had finally come to it's senses, and seen the bird as a friend? When she started to glow, Freddie blinked; eyes becoming wide with surprise, but the light vanished quickly. Perhaps it had just been the sun? "My name is Winnifred," She proclaimed, introducing herself to the bird, "And this is Togi. Do you have a name?" Oh-so-oblivious to what just happened. The child was distracted by the bird, and the prospect of another friend.
Winnifred is thanking the Swablu while inquiring to it's health, Togi is being possessive of her trainer, and uses future sight.

pokemon encounter ! if the swablu could raise an eyebrow, she would. this girl really needed to learn a bit about pokemon. she hadn't even known she could open a pokeball. and she'd thought she'd killed the togepi when she put it back in the pokeball. the swablu sighed dramatically, swooning to the side. < oh dear. > she craned her neck and hovered down to the ground again. oh, her wing hurt! the swablu shook her head. < no, i don't have a name. i mean, other than mean ones.. > then the bird sighed heavily. < oh, my wing? yeah. someone threw a rock at it. i can't fly anymore. > to state her point, the wing was flopped against her side. useless.
swablu took a glance at the togepi, and noticed it was attacking her! she felt the pressure on her mind, as if there was some uneasy feeling that she was to be attacked soon. with a shrill squeak of unease, the swablu attempted to throw herself into the trainers arms. < togi.. togi's being mean! > then, the blue bird burst into tears.

Seeing that the girl was oblivious to the use of Pokeballs, it wouldn't be that much of a surprise if she was also oblivious to the powers exhibited by Pokemon. Perhaps this was why she attributed the glow of her Togepi to sunlight, instead of that mysterious power innate to all the creatures? It had been dismissed so quickly, and Winnifred was more interested in the blue bird anyways. It responded to her questions rather promptly, and the little girl tried her best to remember the answers. Perhaps the information would come in handy later? The bird mentioned being called bad names, and that made Freddie frown slightly; why would anyone be so mean to such a pretty bird? The Pokemon was quick to move on to the topic of it's wing, flopping it a little for effect, and that was when Winnifred really frowned. She looked almost tearful as she observed the wing in it's useless state, and was about to console the Pokemon for it's injury, when suddenly the bird jumped in to her lap.
< togi.. togi's being mean! > It proclaimed, and at first Freddie was too confused to say anything. She simply held on to the bird as carefully as she could, enjoying the fluffy sensation of the wings within her fingers; except then the bird began to cry, and that overwhelmed her. "Uh, w-well, wait a minute-" She yammered, her eyes becoming as wide as saucers - and then she looked to Togi. The egg beast looked as innocent as it could, batting it's eyes and trying to charm it's way out of the situation. 'Togi is just a baby! It couldn't have done anything!' The girl thought instantly, unaware of the power that the Pokemon was unleashing upon them both. The girl was indeed oblivious, and the bird was caught in the crossfire. "The lab!" Winnifred suddenly squealed, as thoughts of the professor popped in to her mind; "Where I got Togi. There's a man there that could probably help you get better!" Yes, that was a brilliant idea! They hadn't been on this route for long, but they could back track - and then this bird could stay somewhere safe. "I'm sure he would help you." With that, it seemed as if Winnifred had decided for the Pokemon.
Nearby, Togi listened and became bereft at the idea - they'd be going backwards! This Swablu was really screwing up their plans for adventure. Oh! But what if her trainer was just saying she was helping the bird? What if.. What if the true purpose was to return her and get a different starter? This ridiculous notion should not have sprung in to her little mind in the first place, but it did. Togi became nervous of the mere idea; she waddled out along the path, looking first in the direction of the lab, and then in the direction they had been heading - away from it - and sat down in the middle. "Pi!" She chortled sharply, with an attempt to cross her little arms. Winnifred saw this at the last moment, but she did not understand. So far, her ability as a trainer was rather... Lacking. It was clear that the girl did not know what was going on, or how her Pokemon was feeling; she saw the Togepi's advance along the path to be impatience, and followed quickly. All the while, she yammered at the Swablu. "We can go back and get you fixed up, and he'll let you out again - if you want - or maybe you can be somebody's starter! That would be nice, right?" Oh no. Oh no! As Freddie came in to ear-shot of Togepi, the little beast heard that - and took it terribly wrong. Suddenly, the little egg-shaped Pokemon began to wail. It rolled around on the path, falling on to it's back like a stranded turtle, and filled the air with a terrible racket. Winnifred was going to abandon her for that stupid flightless bird?! "Togeeeeeee!"
Of course, Winnifred was now far too overwhelmed. What was she supposed to do now? Everyone was crying!
Winnifred is at a loss for what to do, Togi used charm and then misunderstood everything; what a cry-baby.

Oh goodness, oh goodness! That Togepi was so cute when it was using its Charm attack! She found herself blushing from its cute appearance, even though the situation was incredibly frustrating when trying to make the trainer believe her. <Oh yeah!> She raised her good wing at the Togepi and winked at her, trying to act just as friendly back if the baby Pokemon was going to play that kind of game.
Then something about a man that could help her! <OH YEAH. That would be wonderful!> The Swablu was excited at the possibility, even though she still felt that intense pressure coming from the Togepi from earlier. It made her shudder to merely think about, as if some kind of dreaded attack was going to come and get her--POW! Hey look, it decided to hit her!
The Swablu was shoved backwards violently by some invisible force from the strong psychic attack, twitching in response with a pained chirp from landing on her bad wing. <OH NO!> She yelped, tearing up at the pain as she quickly tried to get her weight off of the joint. Ugh, she slowly stood up and glared at the Togepi. Enough was enough, if they were gonna fight, then they had better knock out the trainer first! Wait, what?
It was true; the Swablu didn't want the trainer to get involved and judge them during their battle. She wanted to get rough with the Togepi without hurting Freddie's feelings, so that was how it was gonna be! "Swaaa swaa swaa bluuu!" She sang gently and softly to the trainer, trying to lure her to sleep so that the Togepi would be all hers! Revenge!

Togepi was not going to let this Swablu take her trainer away! However, in her current state, there was nothing she could really do about it. Her adorable eggshell-pants were making it hard to stand up, so she could not stop the bird from attacking her trainer. A sense of guilt sprang forth, but it was too complicated an emotion for the baby to handle. She took it as anger because that was far simpler, and tried to roll back to her feet. At first, the Togepi tried to roll forwards; this did nothing but make her feel a bit sick. Next, while she could see Winnifred's eyes begin to droop, she tried to roll sideways - this seemed to work fine, as it propelled her little body towards Winnifred and the bird.
Freddie on the other hand, did not know what was going on in this situation. The bird had been crying out in pain, and then it was thrown back - out of her arms, blasted by a ray of light! Had she not seen it herself, Freddie would have never believed it. The attack - if that's what it was - irritated the Swablu. However, the song it produced made Winnifred very confused - and sleepy! She was drawn towards the ground, her body sagging in to the grass on the side of the path. As she slumped on to one side, the little girl let out a little yawn and passed right out. This left Togepi to defend her trainer - and her right as a starter - all by herself.
But she could do it! The bird was already injured, and she still had more tricks up her sleeve! The egg-shaped baby was still rolling, but she rolled with a purpose; colliding with a few rocks and rolling over the grass, which in turn slowed her down, and somehow she managed to stand up. Almost as soon as the Togepi was on her feet, her hands went up. Perhaps this was surrender? No, she would not surrender to this Swablu! This meany Swablu that wanted her trainer all to herself! It wasn't going to happen. Togi's raised hands began to tick back and forth, and this seemed to energize her; a glowing effect began along her body, shimmering with power. The metronome made out of her ticking hands was powering up, who knew what would come of it!
What did happen, was the sudden and very random cloud of cotton spores that descended upon the Pokemon's field of view. Perhaps it was just the wind, tossing the trees and making the strands of fluff fall upon them? However it happened, the Togepi was suddenly aware of how tired she was; obviously this metronome attack would be using a lot of her power, and she was still very much untrained when it came to it's proper use. Still, the little creature began to charge another one; she had no defenses, and simply wanted to eradicate this little bird as fast as she could. Her little hands raised again, and they began to tick back and forth - but she was running out of time.
Winnifred has passed out, Togi used metronome, which amounted to cotton spore, lowering the target's speed. She readies another attempt!

She felt as if she was being dragged to the ground, but she knew that it wouldn't matter that much. she could still stile her way out of this, even if she had to perform a crappy song and dance at the same time. "Oh Yeah baby, lets do this!" She cried out, before she began waving her heavy wings towards the normal type, before lowing he head and diving towards the Togepi, attempting to peck her while she was waiting. As she descended, she began spinning slowly in order to gain some momentum, but unfortunately it wouldn't work.

"Oh yeah baby, lets do this!"
[/i] Shouted the bird, and the battlecry inturrupted Togi's ability to concentrate. It didn't seem to matter that the spores slowed it down, nor that the Swablu had an injured wing - she had angered it enough with her stupid behavior, so now it attacked with full force. Togepi was hit by the bird's beak, and it sent her rolling on to her back again; for the current time, she was immobilized, but she worked on getting to her feet as fast as she could. Rolling was tiring her out, but she had to get up - she had to protect Winnifred, who was still asleep on the side of the road. After quite a struggle, Togi managed to get up again - but her guard was down, and she had wasted so much time. She began to wiggle her little hands as fast as she could, picking up the tempo - and powering her next metronome attack. The result was indeed quite random, but it was quite beautiful at the same time. All around her, tiny leaves began to swirl - until finally they shot towards the Swablu, slicing through the air and (hopefully) damaging the bird. The magical leaves were so quick, and they seemed to dance through the air; Togepi was taken by surprise at the finesse of the attack, and she lowered her arms in order to stare in wonder at the glowing fragments as they shot towards her opponent. This left her open for another attack of course, but Togi wasn't thinking about that - the shiny things were pretty! She wanted one! The little egg beast took a few waddle-steps forwards while the magical leaves danced, reaching with tiny arms to try and grab one; alas, she could not. They moved too quickly - but in her futile efforts, Togepi had unleashed yet another charming moment upon the Swablu. It seemed that, even without knowing how to battle, she was doing a pretty good job. Winnifred is asleep. Togi was hit by peck and knocked down; when she got to her feet again, she used metronome which turned out to be magical leaf. Then, she accidentally acted cute, which could be considered charming to her opponent. (Optional)

The Magical Leaf was quite magical looking in appearance; multi-colored leaves appeared out of nowhere with a metallic shimmer to their form. It was as if they had transformed from mere leaves into something stronger and more offensive, not even light or flimsy. They darted across the air like little ninjas dashing through the wind, spiraling towards the Swablu as she yelped from the small cuts on her body. It wasn't very effective, using her wings as a shield to deflect them, but it hurt.
It could only add up in the end, damage wise. She let down her wings like falling curtains, staring at the Togepi with her charming expression and feeling annoyed at it. She was being such a suck-up, it made her annoyed. <Hey, hey Togepi. Hey, hey. Hey.> She chirped over and over, hopping ominously towards the Togepi with a spooky stare.
The Swablu cackled as she pointed her good wing at the Togepi, making her shadow jump out of the ground in an attempt to frighten the Togepi. Sadly she didn't understand types very well, and it would do absolutely no damage to the Togepi.

There wasn't much that the Togepi could do, really, at this point. Her attacks were starting to wear her out, and it was becoming quite obvious - she didn't focus as much on the bird, and even began to yawn. In the middle of the action, the Swablu's voice made her jump slightly, and she looked at the bird as if it were a totally alien thing. As if they hadn't been fighting for the past handful of minutes. She tried to rub her eyes and stretch, but as she did so, something seemed to stretch towards her; the shadow created by the Swablu. The darkness drew close, and it did indeed frighten the poor baby, but as it swept across her it did no damage. That was what she waited for - squeezing her eyes shut, cowering, but nothing happened. "Togi?" She muttered, looking at the bird with a bit of confusion. What was going on? It was darker around her now, but... Oh well! The little egg monster stuck her tongue out, giving the Swablu an indignant stare before she powered up another metronome attack; it was slower this time, and probably the last attempt - but it would have to do. The Togepi's arms powered up, charging with energy, and she flailed in the direction of the bird - still too far from it to really hit it, but the cross-hitting energy mimicked an effective cross chop attack. The effort also threw Togepi on to her front, where she sat and bobbed back and forth - immobilized, and far too tired to correct herself.
Winnifred is probably going to wake up soon! Togi used metronome, which amounted to cross chop, and then fell over.

SWABLU appeared ! Swablu's face fell at the sight of the shadow merely passing over the Togepi, doing no visible damage. She was trying to consider what she'd done wrong, giving the Togepi enough time to conjure another random move - a Cross Chop this time. She turned in time to see Togi flapping her arms in a ridiculous motion. A squawk left her beak as suddenly the energy from the move manifested itself in two crossing slices across her body. It was a critical hit, and being of high power it would've struck her down, but she was saved only because it was a fighting type move.
She was teetering on low power now, and she panted as she gazed at the Togepi, realizing that she would be done for if she didn't eradicate her opponent swiftly. After a moment of mental prepare, she charged at the baby pokemon, screeching <OHHH YEAHHHH!> before launching a Peck straight at the eggling's crown.

Those few moments where Togepi was stuck on her belly, were all the Swablu needed. The baby was unaware of how damaged her enemy was - she was too busy staring at the ground in front of her, trying to gather enough energy to stand up again. Alas, the little monster could not do it; she was stranded on her belly, teetering back and forth. When the bird's attack was finally realized, she received a peck to her head, and that hurt. It didn't just hurt - it surprised the tired baby Pokemon, enough to make her burst in to an uproar of wailing. Togi flailed about, the exhaustion from the battle having worn her thin, and the last attack - the final straw - finally making her snap. Thankfully, her sudden (loud) crying was enough of a disturbance to make Winnifred wake up. It was a gradual thing, but as the girl rolled to a seated position within the grass, she spotted her starter - and then, with a groggy glance from the Togepi to the Swablu, she realized what had happened. Well, for the most part.
She still had no idea how she fell asleep. It wasn't too important though; Winnifred was mostly trying to piece together what was going on, as she got to her feet and walked over to the Togepi. The Pokemon was abruptly lifted from the ground and held in both hands, the way one would hold a basketball or other round toy. Togi continued to wail until she realized that she was no longer oriented upon the ground, and her eyes shot open; locking on to her trainer's face. "Togi." She stated, bluntly, while the tears streamed down her face. Freddie turned to look at the Swablu next, who looked even worse than before. "What.. What's going on, Swablu?" She muttered, her eyes still glazed with sleep. Just as she was saying that, Togi wiggled her arms - demanding to be closer to Winnifred - and Freddie held her close, receiving a hug in return from the little Pokemon's arms. "Togepi, are you okay?" She questioned, glancing at the back of Togi's head as she burrowed in to her trainer's robes; all that Freddie could hear was a defiant, muffled, "Pi!"
Winnifred woke up! Togi is crying!

you know i can make your a wild Pokémon ! only now was the swablu actually feeling bad about this whole predicament she had caused. it never occured to her until now just how bad it was, and honestly, she felt horrible- to the point of sickly. Either way, that didn't seem to matter much now, seeing as freddie was now going to hate her just as much as everyone else was. sadly, it was all her fault; had she not have hit the togepi, this whole thing would have never happened in the first place. the swablu felt that the only thing she could do now was simply explain the whole thing. > i was trying to. . . uh. . . protect myself. < she wasn't going to sweet coat it, either. the trainer was going to get this straight up, no matter how much it would possibly hurt the human's feelings. > your togepi hurt me when you were. . . i don't know. . . paying attention to me? and then- and- < she felt her cool facade drift away as tears threatened to pour out of her eyes. freddie really was going to hate her, now! > and and i hit her back! i-i'm so sorry! <(Attack -2; -2 speed) FEMALE lv5 natural cure peck . astonish . sing loves to sing and dance - likes to say "OH YEAH" - thinks she's the koolaid man - Injured wing tries to explain situation

The little egg beast held on to her trainer tightly, burrowing that weirdly-shaped face of her's in to the girl's robes. Winnifred tried to console her, but she was still quite overwhelmed. Sleep took a few moments to vanish, and in that time, the Swablu explained the situation - and then the girl became suddenly worried; if the bird started crying, she would be completely lost as to what to do! She could hear it in the bird's voice; that threat of tears, looming, threatening her with more emotion than she'd know what to do with. Almost callous in her tone, Winnifred interjected quickly. "It's alright, I'm not mad!" Although her voice could have betrayed her, as she nearly shouted the words, hurrying the conversation along. Togepi emerged from her burrowing act, her face dry, looking both apologetic and somewhat spooked. "Pi?" She whispered, while peeking over the voluptuous robes she had previously found solace in.
"I mean, no, it wasn't good to hit back." Ugh. Freddie rubbed her eyes with one hand, while holding Togi in the other. "But Togepi, you weren't being very nice in the first place. Is that right?" The Pokemon seemed to deflate, and began pouting again, this time her reaction was sincere. "M-Mean birdy!" She proclaimed, before silencing herself and becoming defiant and anti-social. Well, that was alright. Things were calming down, although Togi appeared to be in a bad mood now - probably tired. Winnifred let out a small sigh, as she was beginning to get frustrated, and the entire situation was beyond her age level. Adults had to deal with babies, she didn't! She wasn't old enough for this - if only Grandmother was here, humph.
"That wasn't very nice, Togi." The girl commented, but she didn't prod her starter further than that. Instead, she let the egg-thing settle in to her arm, holding it like a baby. As her attention drifted back to the blue bird, Winnifred tried to give her a reassuring smile. "I'm really sorry that Togi was being mean to you. I had no idea she could do that!" Well, that didn't change the facts. This was an issue that she had caused; had Winnifred and Togi not shown up today, the bird would have been in better condition. "I can still take you to the Professor, if you want? He'll fix you up real nice. Except," A thought had occurred to her in that brief moment - how would she transport this bird? "I don't know how I'll move you there. I can carry you? Or..." Freddie poked at her chin, looking quite contemplative (and sort of cute) as she pondered. "Oh!" She looked left, right, behind her - ah! There, in the tall grass, was her bag! The new bag that the Professor had given her. "I can put you in one of those ball things, and then we can head back to the lab. Is that alright?" Freddie was already pulling the bag towards herself, eager to find the item in question and get the adventure underway again. Things could still work out! Hopefully the Swablu trusted her - she really wanted to fix it, and the guilt of this encounter was starting to eat at her.

SWABLU appeared ! Swablu felt exhaustion and guilt weakening her, but she managed just barely to continue flapping her wings and keeping off the ground. She held her tongue as Winnifred mediated the situation, still feeling bad for that poor show on her part. <I know.> She replied to 'mean birdy,' sighing with remorse.
She tilted her head as the trainer proposed to take her to the professor, a bit charmed by the innocent, childlike look on her face as she contemplated how to bring her there. She knew that if she agreed to be trapped in the pokeball, she'd then be owned by the trainer, but she didn't have a problem with that, really. She seemed like she'd be a nice trainer. <Oh yeah~ that'll be fine.> The bird smiled at the young girl as she patiently waited for her to capture her.

Togepi looked as if she was falling asleep, and that was great. It meant that Winnifred would have one less Pokemon to worry about, and things could finally calm down. The little starter Pokemon was perched against her now, held close with one arm, but Freddie was growing tired - would Togi notice if she was zapped back in to her pokeball? While the girl thought about this, she let the egg beast fade in to sleep, and focused upon the Swablu. It seemed as if her offer was going to be accepted, and that made Winnifred quite happy; to help out this bird was the least she could do, after all of this ridiculousness. She had no idea that the bird would remain with her after their laboratory visit, but there was always the chance that the Swablu would choose the Lab over her. After all, Togepi had been quite protective of the girl. Having someone like that as a potential partner was... Probably not the greatest prospect. Still, Swablu answered quickly - and with an enthusiasm that Winnifred herself held. It was like the bird was mirroring her own feelings, and that made everything wonderful.
As quickly and quietly as she could - so she did not awaken the slumbering Togepi - Winnifred reached in to the adjacent bag. She brought out a small pokeball and, with a press of the center, made it grow to it's standard size. Hopefully the light would not bother Togi - but that thought was brief, and was quickly dismissed. Swablu was her concern right now, she had to fix this - she had to correct the mistakes that had occurred. Freddie held the ball out to the bird, giving it a final chance to choose; it could leave now, find a place to sleep, and be done with the human. Or she could press the button, and be taken to a safe haven.
[/font][/blockquote] OOC: After the next mod post, this thread will be put on hold I guess? Or it can be closed, and I can make another thread back at the Lab for the Professor, and then... Return to this one, or make one again? I'm not sure what to do! XD;

The Swablu was happy enough to not have been knocked out in the ordeal that she had went through, and was simply relieved that she was about to get the help that she needed. She inched closer to the red and white sphere and looked at it hesitantly, as if doubting it. Well, Winnifred trusted it, and she trusted Winnifred enough to look after her well-being. The girl was young, but the bird was trusting and young as well. <Ohhh yeah...> She murmured quietly as she tapped the center of the sphere with her beak.
The magic happened right there; Pokeball opening up and revealing a flash of light, she was being scanned and being carried into the sphere with the aid of a strong force, the ball then clamped shut around her. It was as if she was eaten alive! The ball rattled once before signalling her capture with a 'PING!', which was succulent.
The bird was now in Winnifred's control, and healing her Pokémon was probably in her own best interest. You never knew what was prowling around, looking for innocent 9 year old girls.
