Parallel swept his tail across the fresh grass and breathed in the smell of summer air. He sighed contentedly as he entered the first route of his journey. He immediately decided not to take the path, preferring to wade through the high grass between the large trees. He smiled to himself as the sunlight splashed down from above, patches of it falling on him now and again. It was quite peaceful here. But how long would that last? Pokemon roamed this forest, it was their home. Sooner or later he would run into them or another trainer! But for now all was quiet and still.
Plucking a ripe apple from a tree he grinned and took a bite, letting the juices flow down his chins, his whiskers twitching. He wiped away the moisture with a clawed hand and stared ahead, through the trees. All was green before him now, and behind too. He was lost in the trees, and pleasantly so. He didn't fear anything in this place, he had trained hard all his life, he was ready. It was his pokemon he feared for more than anything. He had a responsibility to teach them, to train them. And he would.

SQUAAAWK! > he honked, then took off through the trees, trying to abandon the trainer. though when he had brought himself up, the propelling he'd pursued had caused his eyepatch to fall, and doing so, he had no choice but to forget it. however he was definitely much harder to see now. he squinted in difficulty, before speeding off. though he was slamming into branches and getting his wings caught in vines. he wasn't particularly good at sight-seeing. and at the last moment, he slammed into a tree and collapsed on the ground with a groan. ::wingull:: WINGULL (M) 08 [ KEEN EYE ] growl . water gun . supersonic wears an eyepatch, cowardly, likes to boss people around, acts like a pirate, says 'aye' a lot, overly sensitive to criticism. hit by --- used --- health is FULL GREEN [/style] [style=padding: 10px;]NOTES HERE. The still air was interrupted by a loud squawking and a puff of air blown at him from a wingull's wings. Snapping his head around, Parallel instinctively raised a claw to defend himself, but the bird didn't seem that threatening. He watched it desperately try to flee his presence but lose his eye patch in the process. Parallel was not unkind, so as the bird crashed into a nearby tree he picked up the patch and deftly climbed up onto a high branch and left it there. Jumping down he looked around to see if the wingull was all right. It appeared to be just stunned from hitting the tree. Taking out some pokemon food he crept quietly and easily over to the bird and left the food beside him.
Then he stood up and turned to leave, padding softly through the long grass. He gazed around at the sky, wondering if there were other flying types nearby, or had that wingull been on his own. Stepping on something pointy, Parallel winced and looked down, brushing aside the grass to see what had jabbed him in the foot.

For a split second he was tempted to follow the trainer, but instead decided to collect his eye patch and just enjoy the meal. Not too far away, a tiny pokemon watched in horror as Parallel stomped down on a rather large rock jutting out of the path. Just minutes ago, she'd been half buried in the earth right near there! She'd managed to free herself, and just in time it seemed! Any longer, and who knows, this reckless trainer could have stomped on her! <You should watch where you're going! You could kill people.> Almost at once the little seedot regretted what she said, pressing her lips together as hard as she could, she simply stood perfectly still, hoping the creepy looking trainer wouldn't spot her and would just continue on his way. ::seedot:: WILD SEEDOT 5 (F) Chlorophyll | Early Bird Bide | Harden Can't help but speak her mind but gets embarrassed when she does so, constantly gives in to bullies / peer pressure. The jagged rock had cut through his specialised boot, revealing a padded paw. Growling to himself he took off the boot, thinking that perhaps his father had been right, it would just be easier to walk in bare paws than try to fit in by wearing shoes. His elongated hind leg made it necessary for him to design and make his own boots from leather for comfort, but his father had always encouraged him to be more natural and forsake them. Maybe now was the time? He had only tried to wear them because he wasn't fond of attracting too much unwanted attention.
At the sound off a small voice he looked around. A seedot. Weak to fire types, but closer in level to his new gligar. Throwing both of his pokeballs he summoned the two of them and nodded to the seedot. Flux blinked before yawning at the little grass type. Scree grinned and flew at the seed using his wing attack.

Her eyelids drooped a little bit and, despite the effectiveness of the attack, she hardly noticed as the wing attack sliced her hard shell. Instinctively she used a harden attack, thickening up her acorn coating to keep herself safe. But she really just wanted to droop down to the ground and fall asleep. She could barely balance on her legs. <I guess a nap sounds... nice...> She said sleepily, with a smile on her face.

Parallel smiled. His pokemon worked well as a team. That was good. He grinned as he watched the seedot yawn. Perfect. Nodding to Flux he asked her gently to step back and allow his new gligar to finish the match, his wing attack was very effective against this little grass type. Flux slid over to her trainer, happy to watch her new friend win a battle for them both.
Scree felt wonderful now, his first attack had been amazing! He swooped around in the air and dived again. his wings glowing with power. Time to strike!

She decided however that she'd keep trying to protect herself, by hardening her shell once again, whilst also beginning to charge her bide attack. It would take awhile, but if the bat Pokémon kept hitting her with those damaging attacks then by the time bide was ready, she'd have one heck of a nasty surprise in store.

The seedot evaded sleep after seeing his slugma yawn, was that even possible? Well it must be, but the grass type would be out for the count soon enough either way. Parallel nodded to Flux and she moved foward, yawning widely at the seedot before Scree dived in with another wing attack.

The female seedot wasn't sure what to think now, but she figured this was unfair in general wanting to just teach them both a lesson even as she was biding too. Finally letting his whole body start to relax a little bit, but she kept her mind at ease at the moment. Deciding to just let her whole body go limp and try to hide the fact that she was getting even angrier. Now she would be able to just get used to the fact she had to sit still through all of these attacks but let out a yawn all the same. Since she was just able to take all the attacks and stared as the wing attack hit her. Sure it was powerful, but she knew that even being super effective it would take a lot more than just that. Oh my, that tickles! she said calmly and soon started to shake with rage as she built up even more power.

Scree was getting annoyed. Why was this seedot taking his attacks so calmly? Surely she should be terrified of him! He was winning after all!
Flux slid back to her trainer's side, not wanting to get in the gligar's way. She blinked large yellow lamp like eyes at the seedot and wondered if Scree wou;ld manage to win the match or be efeated by some secret power. She wished she could help, but she didn't know how. Her move set prevented her from doing very much but still... Summoning her courage she followed Scree's lead and decided to try to fight. Blowing out a noxious gas towards the seedot she hoped to hurt her and maybe even poison her! If the grass type didn't fall asleep first of course... Scree dove at the seed pokemon after the billowing smog and used his super effective wing attack once again.
Parallel stood back, allowing his pokemon to test their strength together and find their own limits.

Parallel smiled, revealing his sharp pointed teeth. His pokemon had done very well in their first unofficial battle together. He welcomed Fux back to him, kneeling down to scoop her up and place her on his shoulder. Scree stayed near the seedot in case it was faking, but Parallel was sure it was asleep. IT must be very weak at this stage, weak enough to be caught no doubt. Taking a pokeball from his pocket he tossed it at the grass type and waited to see if it would capture her.
He wanted to move on from here now. He'd heard that there were swarms roaming the routes and he was especially interested in hunting down a houndour. Training a canine pokemon would be very interesting for him. He had spotted some paw prints earlier, before stumbling on this seedot, so hopefully he'd run into a pack soon...

Parallel picked up the pokeball that had rolled towards him. Excellent, now he had a pokemon he could use in a trade. Though who would want a seedot he wasn't sure. He stroked Flux's neck as she nuzzled into him. He liked her around his shoulders, it kept him warm. Smiling at Scree he congratulated hi new gligar on winning his first match. Scree preened and flicked his poisonous tail in imitation Parallel's own tail flicking habits. The persian pokemorph laughed as he returned both of his companions.
Time to get back to searching. An eerie howl made the hairs all over his body stand up and he snapped his head around in the direction of the noise. Just a little farther over those hills, that's where the sound was coming from, and indeed that was where the pawprints had been heading. The pack of houndour he'd heard about must be over there. He grinned with anticipation, time to go hunting.

-------- WILD CHATOT!
That eerie howl was coming from a creature that was far more pleasant than one would expect. The only trouble was the source of the sound, which couldn't be seen at all as the sound died off. One would have to be patient to wait for the next howl, indicating the location of the howling hound dog. <Go baaaaaack!> The howl continued, echoing throughout the route in an ominous warning for those that wanted to trespass. This time the sound was much clearer, and it was still difficult to tell where it was coming from. It was almost as if it was surrounding Parallel completely, and you'd have to look up on a whim to notice the Chatot perched on the branches.
She glared down at the trainer as he searched for the source of the sound, feeling rather annoyed that her cries weren't doing the trick. She was supposed to be scaring others away, not leading them towards her swarm! Her friends and family would be so mad if she couldn't even get this right! Her feathers rustled up at the thought of mama Chatot bringing out the whip, recoiling at the thought of such a punishment. Now, the Chatot knew that she had a nasty temper on her own, but her mother was even worse than she was. Oh no no no, she had to make sure that trespassers didn't go any farther. If Parallel kept going in the same direction, she was going to freak.

Parallel stepped through the grass, following the howing. He was determined to find this pack of houndour and he was sure he was headed in the right direction. That was until he caught the scent of a bird pokemon of course. Looking up he spotted a chatot perched on the branches above him. She looked highly agitated, as though his mere presence were of her concern. A thought came to him and he realised she must be protecting something, her young perhaps? Well he had no intention of trying to capture a chatot, so he inclined his head to her in an apology for disturbing her and made his way back the he'd come.
Standing once more where he'd found the paw prints he inspected them closer and realised that he had been mistaken in the direction they were headed. This pack must be clever, he thought, they are different sets o prints going in separate directions to confuse someone trying to follow them. Sure he was on the right path this time Parallel adjusted his back pack and headed into the forest. He hoped to find the houndour soon, but any other pokemon sighting was welcome too, he needed to train his team so all encounters were valuable.

Parallel looked around and spotted the chatot following him. He had been listening intently for signs of the houdour pack he was attempting to find, but the flying types scuffling was the only thing that reached his ears. He ignored her, allowing her to think that he hadn't noticed her. Maybe she would return to her family? As he knelt down to touch the grass, she spoke. He turned and looked at her, his cat like eyes piercing.
"Shouldn't be where?" he asked. "I left the place you were guarding and I'm moving on now, why are you following me?"
He flicked his tail in agitation. He had no interest in this bird, if he must he would battle her and be done with it, but he really just wanted to get going.
