Jamie continued to chase the magnemite she received, having her wrench taken upon the use of the word destruction. "GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE!" She shouted to the floating steel type, who was a good distance away. The magnemite ignored her trainer, however, as it could not stand how loud and obnoxious she was being. It wanted her to stop, so it took the wrench and hoped that she would. Eventually, though, Jamie jumped and tackled it down onto the ground. In exhaustion, she did not notice how dirty her clothes were, as she was focused on getting her wrench back. "What is the matter with you?!"<With ME? What's with you? I stay in my pokeball for one night and the first thing that greets me is your obnoxious yelling. And self expression? You sounded like you wanted to destroy shit! I bet you don't know what self expression means!> Both locked eyes, obvious tension between the two.

[STYLE=border-bottom: 5px solid #FFC7FF;] [/style] Well, that wasn't the only thing being chased as a rather round pokemon was being used as a soccer ball not too far in the distance, and a sudden thunderous roar of GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!!!!!!! was heard. Obviously a pokemon with a lot of enthusiasm, and then another was repeated after that. Listening to the obnoxious sound of the one pokemon, it was male in gender, and heading towards the trainer. The sound of pattering feet and rolling leaves whooshed through the forest like no tomorrow. Whoever was making those noises was certainly not being quiet about their location, and anyone could have found them a mile away. It was just the wild rantings of a patrat, but that wasn't the oddest part. As the patrat was bounding up and down, there was even more rustling than there should have been as he was getting closer. A round black object was rolling on the ground in front of him, and oddly enough...it was an oddish lying face down in the dirt as the patrat suddenly stood in front of them. Foot raised on the oddish as if it really were a soccer ball as his red eyes glanced at the magnemite and then the old lady. HEY! I DEMAND A SOCCER MATCH ONE ON ONE WITH YOU! he said pointing towards the magnemite, not caring if she didn't have feet. There were other ways to play soccer, but the patrat was demanding something rather absurd. That wasn't even the funniest part, the oddish was face up and noticed that the patrat's foot was over it's mouth not letting it breath. ...I wish to cha-OW! the patrat jumped up and held his foot even as the oddish clung onto it being flung high up into the air after the patrat had to literally shake her off. LISTEN, don't do that again, I'm not paying you if you bite me like that once more, he said to the oddish, and she laid back down compliantly on the ground like a good soccer ball. The patrat continued, not even waiting for a response... Here are the rules, if you manage to get the ball from me, you win...simple no? he asked, grinning to them. ::patrat:: level 5 | male | patrat normal keen eye - run away tackle - leer crafty - loves to play soccer - shouts "GOAL" everywhere he goes - slightly deranged

Jamie and the magnemite continued to stare each other down, obviously not liking each other's company. They say that first impressions were important and they certainly made quite a first impression to each other. <You are quite loud and obnoxious. And not in a good way, like in the party that I just had the pleasure to go through.> The starter pokemon said to its trainer. "Well how was the party my fault, huh? And you seriously shouldn't steal like that. Its totally not cool." As the argument heated, they were suddenly greeted by a sudden shout of the word goal. The word seemed loud enough for the whole forest to hear. They both turned around, looking at the patrat that approached. "Huh? What was that shout about?"
They were both curious about what was happening, especially Jamie. She had just taken her first few steps onto route one and she was suddenly dealing with this. Not bad for a first journey. "Hey, what are you doing with that oddish?!" She said, standing up and pointing at the pokemon under the patrat's foot. <eeyes, there seems to be a patrat under your foot. Why don't you let it go?> "Doesn't matter. I'll take your challenge and I'll get that patrat out of your hands!" The magnemite was about to protest, but not before Jamie shouted and attempted a tackle on the patrat on her own. She didn't mind at all, as she attempted to get the pokemon. The magnemite only followed along, watching his trainer do what she did best. Whatever that was.

<What the-> the patrat began to say before he was tackled by a very determined trainer. He was pushed back onto the ground and lay there helplessly underneath Jamie. His mufled cries of "foul play" and red card" could still be heard however and it was surely uncomfortable to have a wriggling pokemon trying to pinch his way out from beneath you!
The oddish on the other hand rolled over peaceably and stood up, surveying the scene at large. She ruffled her somewhat crumpled leaves and tried to wipe off the dirt that had accumulated on her blueish body. Then she looked up at the magnemite who didn't seem to be helping the trainer at all. She waved happily, thanking him for their help. <Are you going to keep him pinned down?" she asked Jamie, "Because I'm not sure that's allowed in soccer...>

Jamie cheered as she successfully took down the patrat, keeping the pokemon at her chest before letting go. She felt the pinches, reacting with pain as she let him go. "Well what now? I got you away from the oddish, didn't I?" That's when she heard about a foul and rules and whatnot about soccer. "Wh-What!? No way, you just said that I had to get the ball away from you." Magnemite only floated towards her, shaking his body/head in disapproval. <They said it fine and clearly. You idiot. You wanted to express yourself. You certainly expressed your idiocy.> Jamie growled, standing up and facing her magnemite. "Hey, shut up. Its certainly better than what you're doing. You didn't do a thing!" She said, pointing at her own pokemon.
She sighed, wondering what she was to do with her own magnemite. "Well I guess that's over with...unless either of you two would like a battle?" She said, directing towards the two pokemon.

------WILD ODDISH & PATRAT !
The Patrat was struggling for breath under the girl's weight, finding the human to be a bit too much for him. <I-Is this how I go? Under a woman's body?> He was turning blue at this point, feeling his tail go limp at the irony of this situation. He was forever alone, yet this girl was on top of him, suffocating him. She obliviously got off of him, causing him to choke in his spot as he desperately inhaled that sweet spring oxygen. The scent of flowers never appealed so much to him! <I'm not a battler.> The Oddish informed the girl bluntly, ignoring the soccer player's plight. Soccer balls didn't battle, so she chose to stay out of this one.
<Battle? S-Sure. I have a special battling style, so I hope you're prepared.> He had a sneaky smirk on his face, quietly chuckling to himself as his thoughts ran wild. He was enjoying the plan that came into his head, grinning towards the Magnemite as in invitation to the challenge. He was ready to prove that he was the very best! Whether he was a soccer player or a battler, he was still athletic.
The Oddish remained unsuspecting of the Patrat's plan, but she couldn't see how she'd be involved in this in any way. <Oddish, come here a moment.> The Patrat abruptly called her before him, grinning as she gave him this adorable, oblivious look. <Yeah, you. Over here.> He motioned for her to move with a lazy movement of his head, coaxing the plant to waddle right up to him.
It was right then that he tackled right into his favorite soccer ball, sending her screaming towards the Magnemite like a Oddish missile. <He shoots, he scores! The Patrat laughed, hopping around after using his attack. Perhaps he should've been a bit more sympathetic when he heard the Oddish's horrified cries, but this all seemed like a game to him. In the end, he wasn't much better than Jaime.

Emma "Orenda"& Nana Despite the slight worry that being around Nana would cause her to have another episode, the woman had set her Pokémon free to orbit about her head calmly. As long as she was prepared, she had little to no fear of being set off into another mini frenzy of sorts. Emma walked along the beginnings of Route 1, her starter Pokémon hovering by her head and looking around curiously. The Munna was doing her best to be a good Pokémon and was keeping a lookout for her trainer.
The trainer, meanwhile, was, was usual, lost in thought. While she was able to keep herself from losing herself, she could not very well block out the voices. Having a Psychic-type nearby only seemed to serve in intensifying the phenomenon. It was mildly frustrating, but Emma was more than willing to deal with it in order to have the company of the Munna. Maybe once she got better control of her powers, the Pokémon would be able to help quiet the voices, even.
'Hey, Emma?' Worriedly, the little creature tired to call out to her trainer. 'Um... Hey, are you okay?' Still no answer. Nana decided to move closer and lightly bump the girl's head. That was enough to get the 'morph to look up, a bit startled.
"Oh! Sorry, Nana. What is it?" Settling herself on top of Emma's head, the little Psychic-type continued to float a bit so as not to weigh the trainer down too much. 'Did you hear that? I think there's someone on the path up ahead,' she was finally able to explain. "Ah, I see. Well, let's go discover who it is, shall we?" The woman suggested cheerfully.
'Mhm!' What a wonderful idea~ She really did like this woman. They seemed to think a lot alike. As they made their way down the route to finally come across a single human and three Pokémon. Blinking several times out of surprise at the current predicament, Emma hummed thoughtfully. Really, she shouldn't interrupt them... She might startle them, but then again, if she didn't say anything, she might startle them anyway.
"Why hello there," she greeted just as Nana also greeted with, 'Hi~' After a brief giggle shared between the two, the Munna floated over toward the group, though being careful not to actually get in the way. After all, it seemed they were busy with something though she wasn't entirely sure what...

The magnemite was struck by the indirect attack, feeling the weight of the grass type pokemon hit him. He swayed in the air, a little dazed by the attack before coming back around. <How dare you use a pokemon like that. You're like one of those stupid idiots from that party.> He said, angrily directing his words at the patrat. He suddenly turned back to his trainer. <Hope you're ready for a battle, girl!>
And Jamie was certainly ready. She was psyched, her heart pounding through her dirty clothes as she was about to enter her first battle. She quickly pointed towards the Patrat, ready to give her first command. "ALRIGHT THEN!" She shouted, her voice full of energy. Before she could give the command, however, she was suddenly caught off guard by a sudden new voice. She tipped over, balancing on one leg before turning around, looking at the new person with her Munna. "Oh uh...hey, sup? Eeya...." Who was this person and why did she just come on like that. It was her first battle, for Pete's sake. "Uh, you kind of got me in the middle of a battle. So uh....MAGNEMITE, USE METAL SOUND THEN FLASH CANNON!" She shouted, feeling great about the first command she gave. The magnemite just shook, the noise resonating from its body. <Ugh great....a yeller.> And he produced an irritating noise before using the light around him to blast the patrat.

Emma "Orenda"& Nana "A battle?" Emma mused over that explanation for a moment and then, more due to watching than simply remembering at random, she seemed to realize the meaning. A Pokémon battle, of course! Her brothers and she had only mock-battled when they were young and she'd never picked up actually being a trainer until, well... now. This was a perfect learning experience in her eyes. Watch the other trainer and maybe she'd learn a thing or two! Although, while it was overall a good idea, she could only learn so much from watching Pokémon she did not have as a part of her team battle.
Meanwhile, the Psychic-type just floated there, a fair distance from the actual fight itself but still pretty close to the action. She stared intently, curiously at what was going on. This Patrat was... admirable in his energy and focus, but other than that, he seemed quite the oddball. When the Oddish scuttled behind the 'morph, she turned her body slightly to look back at the little creature. Hearing her whine, Emma wasn't quite sure if she'd actually spoken or if it was in her own head...
After a moment, she knelt down to help better cover the Grass-type and smiled. "Don't worry. They're both a little preoccupied right now," she tried to assure the Pokémon without directly touching on what was said. After all, talking about a soccer ball if one wasn't really mentioned would make her look really strange and, for the moment, she was really attempting to seem as normal as possible. After the incident at the ranger station... well, she didn't want a repeat of that, to say the least.

Jamie sighed, turning her attention back to the battle. That was certainly a downer to have someone interrupt your battle, let alone your first one. Its like ruining the groove for whatever a person is painting. Jamie could not have that, but at least it was over and Jamie could go back to the battle. The first thing that greeted her was the shout of goal, hitting her ears much worse than the metal sound the magnemite made. At least that was bearable due to her exposure to technology.
"Ugh dammit, you little rat thing. You should seriously shut up! Magnemite, shut it up!" She shouted, causing the magnemite's body to ring, as if the sound of her loud voice was strong enough to ring him. <As much as I hate to admit it, she is right. You are quite annoying> And he used another metal sound, blasting the horrid sound at the patrat, before using another flash cannon. Meanwhile, Jamie looked back, seeing if Emma was causing any trouble.

a wild poke'mon has appeared ! oh sweet mother of everything sweet and sour, the ringing was back once again. he wanted to take a sword and split his head in half as if the ringing were some sort of parasite in his head that could stop it at any given moment. highly unlikely, but it could still happen at some point. he gave a huff of irritation once it was given up, only to be sent backwards once the flash of light collided with him head on. > this isn't a soccer at all, this is a mutiny! < he bellowed, almost as loud as the way he was screaming goal, but not as loud. he then darted around as if he were using agility ( but he wasn't. ) and then stopped just short of a tree before turning around and looking confused. > oddy? < lowering his nose to the grass, he began to sniff around, looking for his blue-and-green friend. instead of his grass type buddy, he had found a pink colored psychic type. > look at this soccer ball. all fluffy and pink! < with a maniac giggle, he set back before rushing forward, his foot drawn back before releasing it like a slingshot at the munna, aiming to 'tackle', i mean kick her into the magnemite again. meanwhile, the oddish froze the moment the patrat called out her name. petrified was a word that didn't quite describe the fear she was feeling right now, as she was clinging on to the trainer's leg for dear life. if that stupid patrat were to kick her again, using her as a soccer ball again, she was going to go insane! without much of a second thought, she turned her mind to the trainer ( who's name was unknown to her at that moment ). > c-can you pick me up so i can hide? < she stammered, whispering just loud enough for the trainer to hear her. > i-i don't think he'll see me if i'm above his line of v-vision. <_____________________________________ ODDISH (F) 07 chlorophyll absorb . sweet scene survivor - hides behind someone every night (that someone usually gets abducted) - gullible hidingPATRAT (M) 05 keen eye & runaway tackle . leer crafty - loves to play soccer - shouts "GOAL" everywhere he goes - slightly deranged hit by metal sound // flash cannon health is mid-yellow used indirect tackle on munna towards magnemitenotes,, modded <3

Emma "Orenda"& Nana If watching the ensuing battle with great interest was causing trouble, Emma was certainly guilty. It was just so... so EXCITING! She could certainly see why the other girl had sounded a bit perturbed by the interruption. At least now she was making a point to be as unobtrusive as she could possibly be. Even when the Patrat turned on her own Pokémon to use as a projectile, she merely looked shocked and covered her mouth to keep from calling out.
Nana squealed as she was sent spinning through the air. As interested as she was in the battle as a whole and had been watching the rodent very intently, she hadn't been expecting to be a target so she wasn't exactly quick to try and avoid the incoming kick. So, much to her dismay, she ended up spiralling toward the Electric-type.
Upon hearing the Oddish's request, the woman peeled her attention away from her poor Munna and looked toward the scared little critter. Hold her, hm? Well, she didn't see why not. "Sure, I can do that," Emma responded as quietly as possible, both for the Pokemon's benefit (not being discovered by the Patrat) and the other trainer's (not being distracted). Shifting to turn and gently pick up the Grass-type, she moved to stand. The Oddish would be carefully held in her arms, certainly a fair distance above the Patrat's eye level.
Regardless of whether or not she actually collided with the other Pokemon, Nana's immediate response upon recovering would be to use Defense Curl. Even as she curled in on herself, though, she started to float again, slowly trying to get herself higher than the Patrat could reach her. She didn't want to be used as a soccer ball and she certainly didn't want to interrupt the battle... again.

Jamie watched as her magnemite was struck by the tackle. Dammit, all she wanted was a direct battle between her and the annoying patrat. No real interruptions. The only issue she had was that the new trainer arrived like that, coupled with the patrat's obsession with soccer. She would at least try and give her a proper introduction, but the battle was so damn interesting. "Sorry, trainer. Wish I could pay more attention to ya." Magnemite, however, was not pleased. <So I get struck by a tackle and you just apologize to her first?>"Oh right. Use tackle on it!" And the magnemite did jsut that, rushing for a tackle of his own. ------WILD ODDISH & PATRAT !
It was a shame that Flash Cannon was such a strong move! When paired up with the Metal Sound, the Patrat was feeling awfully weak around this point. He wobbled left and right as the Magnemite hovered overhead with a strange humming sound. It was quiet to the ears of most humans, but it was noticeable to the ears of a Patrat. <You're cranky! You should just settle down and play ball.> The Patrat huffed, getting a little fed up with the Magnemite's attitude. Hey, how was he supposed to attack this guy anyways? He started looking around for his usual soccer ball with alert eyes, only spotting the bright pink Munna in the distance. His Oddish ball was hiding somewhere, only spiking his curiosity in the middle of the battle.
<I'm not here.> The Oddish squeaked quietly in Emma's grip, hiding her leaves over her small form to look more like a weed. Though Emma must've looked awfully strange for holding such an ugly thing, it was the best camouflage the Oddish could offer. As long as the Patrat stopped abusing her like this, she'd be more than fine. She had been awfully stupid for agreeing to be his soccer ball in the first place! She made a mental note to herself to never fall for that one again, though she'd probably fall for variations of it with ease.
<Ha! I'll just use the pink one then. WATTTCH MEEEE!> The Patrat started to charge towards the Munna once more, but the Magnemite caught him completely off guard. Out of nowhere, the Pokemon collided with him with a heavy Tackle attack. Whoops! He didn't see that one coming! The Patrat was immediately forced down the hill, into a nearby ditch. <OY...> He squeaked in pain as his body hit several rocks and sticks on the way down, hiding in the foliage by the time he stopped falling. Seemed as if this battle was finally over! Victory!

Emma "Orenda"& Nana Emma blinked in surprise when she was apologized to. "Oh, no need to apologize. I didn't realize you were already starting to fight when I came upon you. I'm sorry for barging in," she offered in return. At least this woman was mostly polite! That was a good thing, she figured. Other than that, she just continued to stand there quietly while holding the Oddish. She really didn't realize the strangeness of holding a weed but she wouldn't have really cared even if she did. All she wanted was to help the poor creature and if that meant that she looked odd... then oh well. Ce lest vie.
As she watched the Patrat, she realized he was looking around for something. Must be the Oddish, but rather than move to try and better cover up the Grass-type, she stayed as inconspicuous as possible. After all, the less movement, the less attention she drew to herself. Theoretically, anyway... Regardless, she looked slightly alarmed when he started to head toward Nana again. It appeared she was about to call out to the Munna, but she didn't need to. Magnemite quickly took care of the problem and she gave a little sigh in relief.
That sigh was quickly followed by a small cheer for the other trainer. "Yay! Battle successful! Good job," she offered brightly. "It's over, Nana. You can come out now." At her prompting, the Psychic-type slowly unfurled, peering around. Phew! That was close... crazy Normal-types. Nana quickly floated over to hover around her trainer's head.
Said trainer gazed down at the Pokemon in her arms and smiled. "Looks like you're safe now. Want me to let you down?" Whatever the answer, she'd easily do as requested. She certainly wasn't against continuing to hold the poor creature at least for a while, but she wasn't going to hold her more than necessary. As soon as the Grass-type gave the signal, she'd be set back down. Of course, if some other answer was given, she'd be a bit taken aback and have to pause to consider what her reply would be.

Jamie cheered, happy of her victory over the annoying patrat. Even if she didn't win directly, a win was still a win. "Alright, magnemite! HAha!" She said, giving the steel type a hug. The magnemite floated out of her hands, unsure of what to say. <UO-Oh....well, its no issue really. HAha. Anyway....I guess now that that's over, we can at least get on with this.> He said to his trainer. "Oh wow, you'll be my pokemon now?" She said, excited and wondering what the magnemite meant by that. <Oh well....yes, I do suppose so!> Its not like he had a choice in a matter.
Jamie turned around to the new trainer who was beside her the whole battle. "Thanks for waiting~. My name is Jamie. Nice to meet you. And this is my magnemite.......Farnsworth?" She said, generating a name out of the blue like that. <Oh come now, not a name like that.> But it didn't matter, as Jamie was concentrating on the other trainer. "So who are you then? Hmm? And what pokemon is that?" She said, pointing to the munna. Soon, though, she looked at the oddish, giving it a pet.

::oddish:: level 7 | female | oddish grass/poison chlorophyll absorb - sweet scent Survivor - Hides behind someone every night (that someone usually gets abducted) - gullible
For once in her lifetime, the oddish was feeling quite happy with the situation she was in; it wasn't everyday when you was picked up by a trainer instead of battling for your life. It was a nice change, and in fact she fealt quite safe in the trainers arms as well. "Please don't put me down! I like it up here! I feel safe!" The oddish said as she heard the trainer asking is she wanted to be put down on the ground. Nuhuh! She snuggled deeper into the trainers arms as she absorbed the warmth that she fealt flodding into her body. She didn't care what the floating pokemon thought about what she was doing. She needed some love, and this was the closest she was getting.

Jamie walked up to the oddish, giving it a pat on the head before making forth on the journey. She was too excited to let this journey slip out of her hands because someone had stopped her on the way. She needed to keep forward! "EFFICIENCY!!!!!!" She shouted, rushing around the route to see what she will find. The magnemite, all the while, followed his trainer. Jamie looked at her magnemite, curious as to what it was up to. "You know. You're rather serious. You have a problem with me, bro?"
<Well, yes I do. You're loud and obnoxious, but you're my trainer. So you're my partner whether I like it or not.> The magnemite said, sounding like a dignified man, as opposed to a metallic machine. Jamie inspected the magnemite, picking it up and literally turning it around to see what it was like. "YOu sound like a man, but you're a magnemite.....I'm calling you Farnsworth.": She said, nodding in agreement.

Emma "Orenda"& Nana Those several moments of silence on Emma's part were accompanied by a very blank look on her face. Empty eyes had fallen slightly (possibly leaving her staring rather... awkwardly at a certain area) and her eyebrows furrowed deeply as she fought the suddenly very loud voices in her head. Why this happened, she could never figure out. It was just random. She partially blamed it on the new environment as well as having a Psychic-type by her side. Regardless, the voices had been far too attention-holding for the 'morph to even hear the woman in front of her, much less have the state of mind to properly reply.
It wasn't until Jamie was walking away that the voices settled and left the lavender-haired girl heaving a sigh of relief. She quickly realized, however, that her company was retreating! Oh dear... she'd done it again. Trotting after the other trainer, she called out, "Hey, wait! I'm sorry about that... Sometimes I just get so lost in thought -- especially because of the excitement of this new adventure -- that I lose myself a little. I... I'm Orenda. I'm really sorry, again, but..."
There was really nothing more to say. Either Jamie would accept the apology and hopefully re-introduce herself or... well, or Emma would just have to go off on her own. It would really probably be better for all of them if she did do that, of course, but she really did enjoy company for all it was worth. All the while, of course, Nana looked on worriedly. There was also the fact that the 'morph was still happily holding the Oddish without a second thought. There might be a reason for that besides the Oddish's plea, though...ooc ;; Really sorry about the delay. My Muse was not cooperating. >.>
