Chelsea figured the Pachirisu was choosing not to use Bide again by her decision to combat her attack with a Defense Curl instead. Chelsea smiled weakly when her Razor Leaf seemed to do some damage to the little Pokemon. She could see that she, like Chelsea herself, wasn't going to give up so easily. She wouldn't have it any other way. She was unable to dodge the Tackle attack quick enough. She swallowed back a whimper that threatened to escape.
Rachel watched Chelsea for signs of weariness. She didn't show any signs of stopping. Just to be safe, she wanted to end this battle as quick as possible. "Chelsea, sue Ancientpower again," she said, figuring that move had the best chance of knocking the Pachirisu out.
Chelsea paused for a second to regain her strength. She narrowed her eyes at the Pachirisu, focusing in on her opponent. She didn't want her attack to be any less powerful just because she was tired. Finally, she reared up and shot the force of energy at the Pachirisu.

The Pachirisu could sense that she was about ready to kneel over, she knew that if this attack would hit, she'd be down for the count. She didn't let that faze her though, she was one stubborn squirrel pokemon and she knew she could handle one more hit. Acaully, it was more her ego that thought she could, her body wouldn't be able to take it.
The electric pokemon took a deep breath and scampered around the clearing, trying to make herself a harder target, she couldn't attack until she knew that the coast was clear. If she went in too close it could be bad. Static crackling around her body, she braced herself.
Fancy tricks were her thing, however this time, it backfired on her. The attack was aimed just a little too far behind her, but the Pachirisu had not noticed and back tracked right into the attack. With a flinch, and no noise besides trumbling rocks, the pokemon was out.
Fainted, swirls were in her eyes and she was avaiable for capture if wanted.
Congrats! Pachirisu has been defeated! Chikorita gains a level! Capture? Move on?

Chelsea grinned widely when the Pachirisu ran right into her attack. In a second, it was over. <Yes!> she cried. <I did it!> She jumped up and down a few times. The activity made her realize just how tired she was. She slowly walked back to Rachel and flopped down beside her. Her job was done.
Rachel smiled down at her Pokémon. "Great job, Chelsea. You were amazing. I couldn't ask for a better Chikorita. I'll let you rest in a second." She took out a Pokeball from her bag. She hesitated at first to relish in her victory. The Pachirisu was very tricky, but in the end she had lost. Rachel smirked. She had taught her a lesson alright. In one swift movement, she threw the Pokeball at the Pachirisu. She was glad to have this whole thing over with.

The Pachirisu shuddered as she was bathed with a red glow before being sucked into the metallic orb. The electric squirrel struggled with all her might, for although she was fainted. she was a sly one and hated being cooped up. It seemed as if she was going to escape, the pokeball jarring from side to side violently.
Finally after a few tense moments the pokemon let out a audiable sigh and slouched down in the ball, pouting, and displeased with her new home even though it was much warmer than the outdoors. At least they were strong.
Congrats! You have captured a Pachirisu!

A small feline like pokemon was perched atop a rock, his paw passing over his ear ever couple stokes with his rough tounge. The wild normal type seemed oblivious to the nearby trainers. His coat shone, and he was obviously a very well kept pokemon.
Most likely not one who would enjoy talking to filthy humans and sweaty pokemon. Hm. The pokemon, once done grooming, began singing in a surprisingly girly, high pitched voice. Meow, meow, meow, meow, meooowl! he repeated, it sounded quite a bit like that Meow Mix commercial.

((Me too. XD))
Rachel watched with anticipation as the ball shook back and forth. Would the Pachirisu really be able to break free? She sighed in relief when the ball stopped. She strolled over to the Pokeball and picked it out. "I'll name you 'Charlatan.'" She looked back at Chelsea, who was looking at her curiously. "It's a synonym for 'trickster' and it sounds like a pretty awesome name." Chelsea smiled and nodded in agreement.
Rachel clipped the Pokeball onto her belt before walking back to her Chikorita. She smiled. "You deserve a nice long rest." She returned her to her Pokeball. "Well, I better get on my way."
Rachel blinked in surprise when she heard what sounded like singing." She looked around to find the source of the sound. She smiled when she saw the Meowth. She casually walked over to hit. "Hello there," she greeted it. "That's a nice song."

Meowth happened to be a very vain and prideful pokemon, but normally Persians were even worse. This one Meowth was above average though, his personality being haughty and totally egotisitcal.
Lovely tunes danced out of his mouth, swirling around as he pleased. As the trainer spoke, he was so suprised a wrong note came out. The Meowth gasped in shock and quickly stopped, covering his mouth in horror. A wrong note, how dare they make him ruin his wonderful song!
With a growl the pokemon lashed around, eyes flamming, upon the sight of the trainer, he blanched. <Ew. No-furs. Gross.> he hissed, before quickly taking a few paces away from Rachel. Upon recieving the compliment the pokemon beamed with pride and nodded, <Years of training.> he said, before boasting a little, <And a lot of talent.>
The Meowth quickly glared at her and made a face, <Why are you so ugly. That pale skin and thin hair...> he shuddered in disgust and turned away once again. Why was he even talking to someone like her.

Rachel frowned when the Meowth spoke. He had an attitude problem. And he was boastful too. She rolled her eyes at his last comment. "That's how humans are. Some Pokemon don't look too hot to use either," she retorted. What was his problem.
Normally Rachel wouldn't attack a Pokemon straight on like this, but she felt like she had been provoked enough. Besides, the Meowth could use a good fight. She took out the Pokeball that held Travin, the Male Nidoran she had adopted. She released him with a push of a button.
Travin blinked and looked around. <What's going on? I was trying to sleep.> He let out a yawn.
"Travin, use Peck on that Meowth," Rachel said, motioning to the cat Pokemon in front of her. She frowned slightly. Was this a bad idea? Should she have chosen someone else?
<Alright,> Travin mumbled. He stretched and yawned again. When he was ready, he leaped up towards the Meowth and went in for a Peck.

The Meowth was surpsied when the no-fur called out a pokemon of her own. Had he been asking for a battle? No, of course not. He'd been singing for goodness sake! He quickly readied himself for the impromptu fight, ceasing his song and letting out a rather loud Growl before countering the beck with a Scratch of his own. <You are like all the others. No manners.> He muttered while trying to counter the Peck that was currently hurting his body. The sharp horn did some decent damage while the Meowth struggled to attack the small creature with his own sharp claws.

Travin stepped back when the Meowth scratched him. Whoa, that hurt. He decided he better be careful. This Pokemon probably had a lot more battling experience than him. Although judging by his attitude, maybe not.
Rachel snorted at the Meowth's comment. "Look who's talking." Although she did start to rethink her decision to attack him like this. Oh well. It was too late for that now. She had to finish what she started. "Leer," she commanded.
Travin turned until he was facing the Meowth directly. Better make this a good one... He followed his trainer's orders and attacked using Leer.

The Meowth glowered at the pokemon, who had so very rudely decided to attack him without warning. He was the one who decided when he wanted to battle, although he usually never offered because he didn't like mussing his fur. He always kept his claws sharp by carving them with a tree, just in case and it looked like it was paying off now.
<Disgusting no-fur. Was that really quite neccesary. Perhaps I don't wish to battle?> he snapped, before singing a high note. <I wish to practice my notes, not my battling skills, which by the way, are already good.>
As the Nindoran charged towards him again, the Meowth swiftly scampered up a tree and sat upon a branch, grooming his fur, perfectly at ease. With a cocky smile, the pokemon peered down upon the pokemon. <Oh dear, what seems to be wrong? Can you not get up here?> The Meowth grabbed a pinecone and chucked it at the trainers head.
<Leave me in peace!> he hissed, tottering on the edge of the branch, clearly unbalanced.

Rachel rolled her eyes. "I'm sure. That's not really your choice, now is it?Get with the program here." She narrowed her eyes as the Meowth climbed up a tree. Ok, maybe he could decide not to battle.
Travin stopped in front of the tree. He growled up at the Pokemon. <Come down here and fight!> He growled. <I don't believe you're such a great fighter."
Rachel let out a gasped as she stepped back to avoid the flying pinecone. She frowned as she surveyed the situation. She couldn't see any way to win. "Ok. I think he's had enough," she decided. "We made our point. You can come back, Travin."
Travin shook his head. <No,> he growled. He glared at the Meowth. <I will not be made a fool of. He started ramming his horn against the trunk of the tree. He hoped the momentum would be enough to cause the Meowth to fall down.

The Meowth looked down at the two with a haugty look on his face. It was a clear statement, he was superior than the ones screaming up at him and he knew it. He plopped himself down on the branch and began grooming, perfectly at ease.
At the sound of the annoying pokemon, the Meowth glanced down with mild disapproval, <Shut up pesk. Go bother someone else.> Upon hearing the trainer speak, he nodded and glared at the Nindoran. <Listen to your master puny purple speck. Shoo!> he snapped.
Ignoring them, he turned away, oblivous to the sudden jarring of the tree. With a shriek of shock, he was dislodged from the branch and was falling through the air. With the skills only a cat could have though, he managed to latch onto a brach and pull himself back up.
A deadly fire shone in his eyes, how dare he. This Meowth was not a cat to mess with and once he got mad, oh, boy better watch out. He hissed in fury and with a yowl of anger, leapt upon the Nindoran and with fury fueling his power, attempted to score his claws down the pokemon's face. Scratch Attack!

Travin growled at the Meowth's taunts. He was determined to not give up. He continued to hit the tree with his horn. He smirked in satisfaction when the Meowth started to fall. He growled again when he climbed back onto a branch. Travin's eyes widened as the other Pokemon hurled towards him. He quickly turned and tried to run away. He tripped and fell flat when he felt sharp claws rake his back.
Rachel blinked in surprise when Travin's plan work. A second later she nodded, a determined look on her face. "Good work," she said. She winced when her Pokemon got hurt. "Ok, use Leer and then Peck again."
Travin leaped to use feet. He turned to face his opponent and used Leer to lower his defense. He then bent his head and raced towards the Meowth again.

The meowth, being the cocky little thing it was, licked its claws gently after the previous scratch attack. A grin of satisfaction was fixed upon it's lips as the same confidence shown in its eyes. Beat that! It was perhaps a bit too confident for its own good since it often got a bit too preoccupied that it was ignorant to the fact that this was a battle and attacks when both ways.
The Meowth suddenly felt a strange warmth surround it. At first it felt sort of good, but slowly it began to build up and suck energy away from the meowth. The Meowth snapped to attention as the light stopped leaving its body feeling frail and weak. THAT STUPID RAY! It was a leer and had lowered his defense! It even left a feeling of weight behind as if the meowth had suddenly gained 40 pounds in which it wasn't able to support.
This sudden feeling of weight kept the Meowth anchored where it was and right in the pathway of the charging Nidoran. It left the poor meowth unable to dodge so it took a direct hit. The sheer power of it thrusted the meowth back, leaving an indented trail in the dirt where it had slid. Now it was injured, weakened, and covered in dirt. This was unacceptable.
"You stupid little brat! What did I do to you, huh?" the meowth stood up slowly, stumbling slightly. It wasn't used to being injured so it was struggling more than normal. The fury of being hurt and dirty was enought to get it going again. It let out a Growl befor running towards the Nidoran. It was a bit slower and even had a slight limp, but it wasn't enought just yet to make too huge of a different. While running towards the Nidoran, it realized something. It's leg shouldn't hurt this much for one stupid attack. Even more, the pain was slowly getting worse. The Meowth stopped suddenly, falling face first into the dirt. Its leg went numb, forcing the meowth to discontinue its attack.
As its face was in the dirt, it knew what was going on now. It's leg was poisoned and numb. How unfortunate of a situation.

Travin smirked when his attacks worked. <I fight for honor,> he replied, scuffing the ground with his front foot. He quickly tried to get out of the way of the Meowth's path when he started for him. Travin stopped when he realized he wasn't being followed anymore. He turned around to see the Meowth flat on the ground. Travin smirked again when he realized what had happened. <Serves you right.>
Rachel hesitated, unsure of what to do next. She was a bit reluctant to just finish the Meowth off. Did that make her weak? He did have a point, after all. She had let her anger get the best of her. Rachel sighed. She knew Travin would never give up when he could so easily win. "Alright," she said. "One more Peck!"
Travin had sensed his trainer's reluctance. He grinned, satisfied with his decision. He turned his attention back to the Meowth and narrowed his eyes. This was it. He charged towards the cat Pokemon once again.

The fine selection of attack moves did a pretty good number on the injured Meowth. And not being much of a battler, he preferred to exercise his voice, rather than his body. Those extra 40 pounds from that Leer attack weren't doing him any good, and the poison had already started spreading from his leg, and into more painful places.
<Grrr...> He Growled, under his breath. With Travin only mere inches away from the whiskers on his face, he knew that his voice could be heard. It was too late to really do much of anything, not even give the Nidoran a flinch attack, because at that speed, it was unlikely that he could stop in time. The Meowth earned himself a nasty little jab on the right shoulder, sending him flat on his back. His bright, white belly exposed to the heatless exisistence of the sun, he glanced over at the Nidoran Male, before fainting.
Travin gains a level. Capture? Or move on?

Travin waited a few seconds to make sure the Meowth was really out. Once he was, he nodded in approval. He turned and walked back to Rachel with his head held high. <Don't even bother catching it,> he said. <We don't need him.>
Rachel frowned as she looked at the Meowth. Although she wasn't too fond of his personality, she didn't want to just leave him hear like this. She also found she was attracted to the challenge of getting through to him. Why not? Rachel took out an empty Pokeball and tossed it at the Meowth. She heard Travin groan, but ignored him. This was her decision.

It was a gentle toss, a gentle bump on the head, and a forceful , dark black hole that tossed the Meowth inside like a gentle piece of tissue paper. It seemed pretty rude to be captured in such a manner. He felt less "wild" than the other wild Pokemon around here, and even considered himself to be quite civilized. To be caught so easily seemed barbaric to him. There was no way he would live this down without some type of grudge.
Shake...shake...shake...

Rachel smiled wearily as she walked over to pick up the Pokeball. Boy, was she in for a struggle. She'd bet it'd be harder to tame this Pokémon than even Charlatan. But she knew it'd be worth it int he end. "I'll call you Sampson," she decided.
Travin snorted. Rachel turned back to him. "You can have a rest now." She returned him to his Pokeball and clipped both balls onto her belt. She turned and continued down the path.

If Rachel was expecting another pokemon to appear, she was sorely mistaken. Up ahead on the dirt path was another trainer, like herself. Except this one seemed to be shouting and clearly angry at something or someone. "I told you to use Razor Leaf, what were you thinking using a regular Tackle?" He said loudly at a small pokemon in front of him. "Do you need a real battle to wake up or something?" The small pokemon shivered in reply, not nodding, but just sitting there, taking the abuse like she was really beneath her trainer. Like a slave instead of a partner. Hearing Rachel approach, he turned and smiled, as if nothing had been going wrong. "Hello there. M'names Kite, or at least that's what people call me. Who're you?"
A trainer and his Chikorita have appeared. ::Chikorita::
