The Lotad nearly screamed as it saw the foot approaching it's small body. Oh no! The final blow so that the trainer before him would gobble him all up. Cringing, it waited for him to be smashed but... It never came?
Glancing up at the human, he couldn't help but stare at her as she spoke foreign words to him. Maybe she was talking about how she would eat him! Telling him before hand since in the afterlife he'd never know what happened to his body. Eyes going wide, the Lotad turned right around and, as quickly as it's little legs could propel him, ran.

- Somewhere along the way, the Lotad slipped right out of view as the trainer followed it somewhat to it's true destination. She was a little off at first, but soon there was a clearing. It was a field that was free of trees and dirt paths, but instead it was a murky old pond that was covered in lily pads.
- Some ripples decorated the spot where the Lotad had entered, and was now stealthily entering closer to a thick patch of lily pads for comfort. Surely he would not even be noticed with this degree of camouflage! He was too good! Some of his friends looked at him curiously as he shivered in fright from the trainer above, and simply sat still in the water. If he was scared, then something was bound to go wrong, right?
- There was no way she was going to expropriate him from his home, with his friends. They all had a duty of tutelage; all for one and one for all, as all good friends say in the heat of the moment. They eyed each other suspiciously, wondering what was going to happen in those suspenseful moments.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400] [th]Amber followed the Lotad to a murky pond, losing sight of it she looked around. Geez, was she that scary? She looked around, a few lily pads here and there...lily pads? Did she just see one move a bit? Amber bent down by the pond edge and pulled out Max's Pokeball. Coming out he bounced happily up and down. <Oooh, are we looking for more friends?!> Max asked with a smile. "Find a Lotad, Max, I saw one go into the water." Amber said. Getting up she went the other way.
Max, being the way he was, splashed in the water. Bouncing up and down he jumped from one lily pad to another, oh this was so fun!

Still shaking in fear, the terrified Lotad held his breath as he tried to listen for any sounds of an approach. There was no sound of the trainer's voice, only of the usual quiet splashing around the water. That was, it seemed like the usual splashing, until it got so loud and unbearable that he was sure that something was wrong. However, he was too nervous to poke his head up out of the water, lest his cover be blown. His situation was proving to be incredibly parlous, and he hoped that they'd move on soon so that he could get back to moving around without a constant fear of danger.
He glanced over into the wizened face of an older friend, exchanging with him a glance filled with nervous apprehension. <What do you think->
But before he could so much as finish the question, the Spoink above him landed straight on his head, and he was knocked down under the water with a startled, gurgling shriek. Resurfacing, he spat out a stream of water at his opponent. If he had been human, his face would have flushed with an angry, blotchy red at that very moment. <If this is your idea of raillery, it was certainly not appreciated!> he cried. Trainers and their Pokemon were such meddling creatures! <I will not be expropriated from my home! Never!>
He readied himself for attack, then realized something critical - he didn't know what to do. He'd never really battled a trainer's Pokemon before.
Noticing this, his friend cleared his throat. <Use your head, idiot! Absorb some of that health he stole from you!>
And so, under the rather critical and demeaning tutelage of his friend, Lotad nodded with determination and focused his attack power, attempting to drain the nutrients from the Spoink who'd so ungraciously used him as a landing pad.

A pig eating such a lovely creature as him! Nonono this was not acceptable! Lotad would fight with everything he had to get these cannibalistic Pokemon out of his home! Dramatic? Maybe, but perfectly reasonable considering they wanted to eat him! Green orbs dotted with scarlet flew from his glowing body, encircling him for a brief second in a motion similar to Hidden power. However, this was Absorb, designed to steal the piglet's life force and add it to his own. After all, it was eat or be eaten, wasn't it? ::lotad:: Lotad used Absorb. [/B]

▬ Hit by Psywave ▬ Uses Absorb - The dizzy looking wave of psychic energy zigzagged towards the Lotad, making him stare at it with apprehension before attempting to dodge. The unpredictable movements got him before he could get away, sending him crashing into the hard ground below. He carefully got up, a bit afraid to put too much stress on his limbs before sending a cute Growl at the Spoink.
- Maybe the psychic type would give him a bit of a break in the battle now, he figured, seeing that it worked when he watched the other Lotad have their battles. Then, in a chance to restore his health he shot out several green, lecherous orbs at the Spoink. <Friends? Don't want to hurt me? Oh please. You lie.> The Lotad grunted, clearly not amused with their act.
- One would expect that the Spoink would have a wizened body after using Absorb on it enough. The image was both pitiful and funny, imagining a zombie Spoink chasing after people while asking to be their friends. A bit of a raillery at the situation, but it was one of those thoughts that kept him from getting too angry.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400] [th]Max barely was able to withstand the Absorb, he just wasn't cut out for stuff like this! This battling wasn't his thing, he couldn't even win one battle! On the sadness he was feeling, feeling useless like always.
"Max! Don't give up! Use Psywave!" Amber cried out. Poor Max was losing faith in himself, thinking he was useless, it broke Amber's heart. Max sat there doing nothing, he bounced slowly up and down, his back turned to the Lotad he jumped in Amber's arms. <WAH! I can't do this!> He cried. Amber just barely caught him in her arms, rubbing the little Spoink's back she blinked. "It's alright, Max. Calm down." She had no idea what exactly the Lotad would think of this, Max didn't really attack him...

Oh no! This wouldn't do! The little piglet wasn't going to get away just because he was overpowered by Lotad's mighty grass moves. And he had to regain some more of the health he had lost from the Spoink's Psywave. green orbs formed in the air again and flew towards the Spoink as Lotad focussed on the thought of regaining a little more health. In his current state of panic, Lotad was incapable of mercy. ::lotad:: Lotad used Absorrb. [/B]

▬ Hit by Psywave ▬ Uses Astonish - The Lotad was in a wild, frightened craze when the Spoink let out his outburst, releasing possibly the strongest Psywave in his arsenal. The Lotad was lucky, stealing a lot of health from him in the previous turns and was able to handle it for now, but it would definitely put a time limit on their battle.
- <Just go away!> He cried out, completely out of his mind as he charged at the Spoink, which was a contradiction really, but he was a bit loopy. If he could scare off the Spoink and then hide in the safety of his pond, then it would all be over, right?
- Once he was good and close to the Spoink, he let out a shrill, ghostly cry as he flailed his limbs at Max. Anything to do damage against the Spoink, at this point. He wasn't type smart, but this move was good at scaring off his opponents before making a get-a-way.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,410] [th]Amber slowly got to her feet, feeling rather tired now she tried to shake it off. She wasn't sure what was going on until a shudden shock wave went through the ground, knocking her back down. Then, she pulled out her Pokedex to look up Lotad when all it showed was fuzz. "What the...?" Then she thought abot switching Max out, pulling out Fang's Pokeball it sparked. She almost dropped it out of shock. What in the world was going on?
Max covered his eyes. Oh the horror of the move! how scary! But...he couldn't back down, he just couldn't! He had to be brave, he had to try, he had to...run for his life! He bolted behind Amber's legs. She looked down and pushed him back into the field. "Psywave!" Max shot the wave, even though he didn't really wanna.

Seeing the attack coming this time, the Lotad submerged himself under the water and managed to avoid being hit by the wave of psychic energy emanating from the Spoink's pearl. Oh, now this just would not do. He was entirely unhappy with the situation, and he really hated having to fight for his life against these stupid cannibalistic trainers Pokemon.
Shaking off some of the water when he got out of the pool again, he stared down the Spoink and then rushed it with another wail, trying his best to sound like a ghost, though it really sounded more like a shriek. Which was still frightening and all, considering he looked half-mad when he was doing it, so I suppose that worked, as well. <Muuhhhh! Muhhhh!>

The Lotad was most definitely not expecting the poison sting, and the barbs sank deep into his skin, making him panic. <GET THEM OFF OF ME!> he shrieked loudly, diving into the pond to try and get the barbs out. Unfortunately, in his wild panic, he only drove them deeper, and so critical damage was dealt. On top of that, the poison saturated his system, sapping his energy steadily. Well, this sure sucked major ass.
How's that for vengeance?
Staggering back out of the water again, knowing it was getting repetitive, he did his best to put on a scary face as he moaned and staggered toward the Kakuna, attacking it.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400] [th] Stings was taken aback by the weird look coming from the Lotad. Shaking it off she was ready for another attack. The Lotad was hopefully weaking.
Max cowarded behind Amber's legs. The scary look from the Lotad was aweful to look at! The horrror!! He whimpered an stayed behind her leg. Amber sighed and said, "Calm down, Max. It's alright." Turning back she kinda flinched herself, what a face. "Stings, Poison Sting!" Stings shot the poison spikes at the Lotad, the purple things flew at it, aimming at it's face.

Trey walked on the road and behind him, the Ranger Station's fence started dissapearing in the horizon. It had only been a few hours since he had recieved his first partner, a bear cub pokémon he had named 'Ursus'. The sky started having a red glow as the sun was going down behind the mountains.
No cloud could be seen at the sky, a clear evening sky and after a bit of walking the red sky had been replaced by a black one filled with small white dots. He had never seen that many stars before in his life... It just had to be a good omen... A sign that his journey would be a really special one.
"Come out Ursus!" He yelled while smiling and suddenly a bright red flash appeared out of nowhere, before taking the shape of his newly acquired Teddiursa.
Out of the blue, Trey then said "Time for an evening exercise!" And he started jogging, with the Teddiursa trying to follow. Trey couldn't help but smile when he noticed the Teddiursa trying his best to keep up the tempo with his tiny legs. "Come here." Trey smiled as he put the Teddiursa on his shoulders.
"Hold on tight!" He yelled as he took off again. After a few minutes of running, he noticed some flashing lights at the horizon. He wondered what it was so he rasied the tempo a little, almost starting to sprint.
Upon getting closer, he noticed a person with some pokémon and a seemingly wild pokémon on the other side. "Let's watch that Urs!"
"Teddi, Teddiursa!" The bear cub pokémon yelled in excitement, so loud that the person over there had probably heard it.
When Trey got closer though, he noticed the trainer was female and he started feeling warm already ... "Let's just go on Ursus..." He whispered so that the girl couldn't hear it. The teddiursa then violently hit Trey's head. "Aaaah!? What!?"
"Teddieeee!" Ursus yelled while pointing towards the battle.
Trey sighed ... "Yea yea..." as he walked towards the other side of the road, trying to stay as far away from the girl as possible. He then sat down at a tree and looked at the battle with Ursus on his lap. Then suddenly, without any notice, Ursus jumped up and walked towards the girl. "Ursus, stay here!" Trey whispered, still trying to not let the girl hear him and Ursus simply pretended not to hear it and as she reached the trainer, Ursus started growling slightly while looking up with his big blue eyes.
