<I think it's safe to take care of it now, Susu.> Michi commented after watching the confused Pineco buck around like a horse. Getting too close to such an enraged Pokemon didn't seem safe in the slightest, and the second he got near him would most certainly lead to a disaster. The Chinchou looked at Susumu expectantly for a command, and the 'morph also seemed to be getting to the same conclusion. "I like to finish with style. So how about a Shock Wave?" He commanded, though it was a polite one, which Michi appreciated. He didn't always want to hear 'Go use this!' 'You can dodge that' 'Fight fight fight!'. Good change in pace was good. The Chinchou gathered up as much electricity as he could until he released it in an uncontrollable Shock Wave. Some of the blast tickled at Susumu's jacket, even though he had safely ducked before the blow could really mess up his hair. Stupid static electricity. ::chinchou:: |Level 8| Uses Shock Wave

The Shock Wave coursed through his body again, rendering him totally unable to move. It hurt, and it hurt badly. He fell backwards, paralyzed and unconscious. ::pineco:: Pineco has fainted. Michi gains a level. OOC: Shit post is shit.

Susumu and Michi let out a sigh of relief when the Pineco was defeated, and with a grateful look towards the bug, Michi plopped himself onto the ground for a break. He hadn't gotten hit much, since he pretty much smothered the bug with status effects, but there was always the release of excitement after every battle. "Come with us, will ya?" Susumu asked, a bit indifferently as he tossed a Pokeball at the Pineco. It had some spunk, and he always liked that in a Pokemon. If a Pokemon was willing to battle, then he was always quite eager to catch it. <Thanks for the fight...made me tired.> The Chinchou said, stopping a yawn with a thin fin. Yeah, try saying that three times fast. The Chinchou kept an eye out to see if the Pineco was caught, still a bit tense from the battling. ::pokeball:: Removed

As Pineco was enveloped by an unfamiliar, alien feeling, he struggled valiantly against its hold over him, the Pokeball that now contained him rocking violently back and forth as he desperately attempted to escape its clutches. But he was tired, and full of the Chinchou's released electricity, causing his struggles to cease rapidly, and allowing the Pokeball to come to a stop, the red light at the center switching off with that trademark sound as the capture was complete. ::pineco:: You caught Pineco Level: 7 Gender: Male Ability: Sturdy Moves: Tackle. Susumu walked towards the Pokeball, pleased that he had caught yet another Pokemon. As he picked it up, the sphere seemed to create a strange static, but he hadn't noticed, seeing that it didn't hurt him in the slightest. "The only name the comes to mind is Yamato. Either you like it or you don't, it's still your name." He told the sphere, knowing that the Pineco inside of it could still hear him. "Well, Michi? Think we should try and go for the city soon?" He asked, looking at the Chinchou with a goofy smile. The Chinchou stared at him with shy interest, before grinning as well. Looked as if they had a plan. Picking up the Chinchou in his arms, they went closer to the dirt path, still keeping an eye out for Wild Pokemon. ::chinchou::

Wurmple hadn't been this hungry in a while. It had felt like days since he'd left his hole in the ground in search of Berries, but in reality it hadn't been much more than half an hour. However, it was quite hot for an autumn day, and Wurmple's pace had slowed to an even more sluggish pace than your typical Wurmple. But he was reinvigorated when he saw an Oran Berry sprouting on a tree. Fat and juicy, it was enough to keep him sustained for a full day, and he scuttled towards it with all his speed- which wasn't saying much, as a human could probably beat him to the tree with ease. ::wurmple::

Michi started to squirm in Susumu's arms uncomfortably as the dry clothing brushed against his skin, suddenly making the male aware that this dry atmosphere was most likely not good for a fish that needed to stay moist. He smiled apologetically at the Chinchou before returning him into his Pokeball, having felt awfully stupid about it. "...oh, is that?" Something bright, blue, and juicy caught his attention in his peripheral vision. He turned to face the wild fruit, curious about whether it was poisonous or not. Having no idea that the one foot or so tall worm was slowly inching towards it, he plucked it from the tree, staring at it uncertainly. Was it an Oran? He knew what Sitrus Berries looked like, but this one he wasn't sure. Certain plants around here could possibly make him sick if he ate them, even if his Pokemon would be totally fine. Then he had an idea-- Yamato would've been hungry after that battle, right? And besides...did he even have a mouth? It was time to solve that mystery. He released the Pineco from his sphere, grunting in pain as the sparks touched his hard shell. "This Oran Berry is safe to eat, right?" Susumu asked, kneeling down to the proud Pineco's level. The bug type stared at it with interest....before snatching it between his separate layers of shell, and gulped it down. All of course, oblivious to the Wurmple's plight. The Pineco felt much more invigorated though, and let out a happy chime to show his satisfaction. ::pineco:: { Yamato } Level 7 ATE ORAN BERRY. HAHA TOO SLOW.

So close, so close, and-
Oh, too slow!
The poor Wurmple stopped dead in it's tracks when it saw that the berry had been swiped - and by a trainer, no less. He was so miffed and insulted by the gesture that he stayed silent with shock as Susumu fed the Wurmple's fat, juicy Oran to his own Pokemon instead. But... but... that was going to be his! He had really, really wanted that berry!
Alright, so maybe he had eaten half an hour ago. And ten minutes before than. And an hour before that! And maybe he was the fattest Wurmple on the route. But he wanted to be a Beautifly, damn it! No, he didn't consider what would happen if he evolved into a Dustox, instead. He had just been captivated by the beauty of his elder sister's wings when she'd shown them off for the first time, and he was bent-set in his quest.
The bug Pokemon, at that moment, burst into tears.
::wurmple:: Crying like a baby. Oh dear god.
Shut it up forcefully, or do something else...?

'Wahhh! Wahhhh!'Oh bejeebus, what that that horrid sound? Something so loud and awful that it tugged at his heart strings. The Pineco was the first the address the issue, being a fellow bug Pokemon, he was a bit sympathetic to whatever the Wurmple's plight was. Was it hurt? Someone bully it? What? What? Yamato hopped right next to the little guy, nudging it gently to try and comfort it. <Hey, hey. What's wrong? What's wrong?> He asked, feeling bad. He wished he could hug the poor thing, well, it was only wishful thinking. Not like he would ever have any arms to hug with. Susumu couldn't stand this infuriating crying though, and didn't want anything to do with it. Looking at Yamato, he wouldn't be easily pried from the Wurmple's plight. "Yamato. It isn't our business to help everything in sight." He grumbled, looking over at that nice calm rock at the side. Once Yamato was content here, they were going to run like mad hell, yo. ::pineco:: { Yamato } Level 7

The Wurmple had been so absorbed in whining and self-pity that he didn't notice the Pineco approaching until he was nudged lightly, so surprised that he cut off mid-wail and stared at him. Oh no! He'd eaten the berry, was he going to eat Wurmple now, too? Shit, shit, shit! The panic showed in the Bug's expression, but it calmed slightly when the Pokemon instead tried to help him. <H-Huh?> Wurmple said, sniffling with a surprised expression. Fresh tears then leaked from his eyes.
<W-Well see, I was reeeally hungry,> he started, dragging out the sound of the word as if words could not emphasize how starving he was. <I haven't eaten in days,> he lied, hamming it up a little to make his situation even worse. <And then he-> a pitiful glance of heartbreak toward the Pineco's trainer, <took my berry RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES!>
Did Wurmple take into account that Susumu didn't see him?
Well, uh, no.
He was a little too self-absorbed for that.
::wurmple:: Wurmple is searching for sympathy...?

Yamato listened curiously, even though he wasn't the most reasonable Pokemon even he saw something strange about this. Look at how far they were from the bush, the one that had the Oran Berries on it at least. Unless the Wurmple was running away from the bush crying, he had trouble imagining this happening. <Hey. It's not so bad. Don't you eat leaves too? There's a ton of them around here.> He tried to ignore the subject, feeling a bit wise for once for doing so. He would've loved to be rash and challenge the worm, but it was a kid he was talking too. A kid. <H-here. How about a dandelion. Like those?> He hopped near a golden yellow weed and plucked it from the ground, waving it around the Wurmple's face playfully as he did so. Anything to cheer up a fellow bug~! Susumu sighed, but actually found himself amused at the situation. He didn't realize that the Pineco had this sort of personality.

Hmm? This Pokemon really was rather nice, despite the fact that the Wurmple was totally hamming up his situation in order to gain the most maximum level of sympathy that he could. The bug blinked at Yamato when he mentioned leaves. Jesus. There were tons of leaves around the route. Why the heck hadn't he thought of that himself. Baffled, he stammered, <Y-Yes, I suppose those would work...> In trailing off his voice was uncertain, doubting himself. Was he losing his mind? How had he not noticed the allure of those leafy greens waving everywhere in the breeze?
But then the Pineco mentioned dandelions, and his mood brightened considerably. Oh, how he loved the precious dandelion flowers! The Combee got to them most of the time, however, and he hardly ever got a taste of one. <Oh, that sounds amazing!> he said, quite happily. He was now no longer concerned with the loss of the Oran berry. Way to go, Yamato! Of course, some would have simply tackled the bug to make it shut up, but there were other ways of solving problems than violence.
<I guess you guys had better get going, then, right?> Like most trainer-Pokemon duos, he wouldn't be surprised if they were merely passing through.

"...it looks happier now. Guess we can leave in peace." Susumu said with a content, withdrawn smile. With the Wurmple looking better than before, the pair decided to leave it be. Anything else that happened was up to Mother Nature, not them. Not what Yamato would've liked to hear, but it was what Susumu thought. <Hop. Hop. Hop.> The Pineco rumbled each time he moved in tune with Susumu's long legs. Eventually the rhythmic sounds started to bother the morph as they walked further along the path, both still half interested in what was lurking in the forest. "Do you have to talk each time you hop?" He asked, finally fed up with annoyance and curiosity. The trainer's eyes carefully glanced down at the Pineco, making sure not to make too much of a commotion over it. <Hop. Hop. Yes.> The Pineco continued, not phased by anyone else that heard it in the slightest. It was Susumu's fault for keeping him out of the Pokeball. ::pineco::

::wurmple:: ::buneary:: Pokemon encounter ! Wurmple, content with the Pineco's kind gesture, wriggled off in search of more food.
Maybe not every wild pokemon on the route made their feelings known about loud noises, but there were a select few that did. Well, only when the sound was annoying enough. And this particular noise happened to be just enough to tick off one of the residents of the route.
It was a Buneary, having just begun to fall asleep in his nest. It was just at this time that the stomping footsteps of a rude human and the bothersome chanting of his Pineco jolted the bunny out of his nap. Urgh! The second time in this hour that his beauty sleep had been interrupted; and no one wanted to know what happened to the perpetrator that first time. Rolling makeshift sleeves up, the pissed off Buneary stalked toward the noise to see what the source was.
Upon seeing the trainer and the odd-looking blue thing following behind him, he belted out: <Hey! HEYY! What do you two fools think you're doing?!> He bellowed, scowling angrily at the two noisy fellows.

<Hooop?> The Pineco paused in the middle of his walk at the Buneary's rude interruption. Couldn't a couple of guys go for a walk in peace now a days? Sure, he was a native of this forest, but even he wasn't aware of such bad natured Pokemon around here. Staring at the Buneary with an offended look, he made his response quick and hasty. <None of your business, fool.> He retorted, not so happy about him or his trainer being called such a thing. "...what's the bunny want?" Susumu asked, clearly out of the loop. Whatever it shouted at them, Yamato didn't take it kindly. If this was a battle the Buneary wanted, well, they were the wrong people to choose. "Tackle it." He commanded, seeing no reason not to train his Pineco. Yamato appeared surprised at the command, but was more than happy to follow through with it. Getting stronger didn't seem like such a bad idea anyways. He charged at the fluffy bunny with a Tackle attack. ::pineco:: { Yamato } Uses Tackle

::buneary:: Pokemon encounter ! Buneary gave a growl of impatience when the Pineco aimed the insult back at him. <A fellow can't get any sleep around here for his life.> He said out of the corner of his mouth. Suddenly, the insolent Pineco launched his spiky, blue body into his fluffy, brown one. He was so caught off-guard that the normally weak attack caused critical damage. Bruises even appeared on the bunny's stomach from the sudden move.
<Why you!> Squeaked the Buneary angrily, preparing to aim a swift counterattack at the rude pine cone. First, though, he curled up in a fluffy brown ball in order to heighten his defenses; as he was now, his body was far too vulnerable to take on this foe. Then, uncurling, he bounded forward and raised his strong paws to pound the foolish fool in.
Buneary hit by Tackle. Buneary used Defense Curl & Pound on Yamato.

<Sleep? That's what this is about? If you were a real man, you would ignore it.> He scoffed, noticing how much the Tackle had done to him. That was a bit excessive, actually, but it was good enough to make a point. Yamato almost didn't want to battle it, if the Buneary was that weak, but seeing it boost its defenses with the Defense Curl changed his mind slightly. "Brace yourself. Harden." Susumu commanded, seeing the Buneary break the defense curl formation. It was probably going to attack soon. Probably. Yamato huddled his armored scales together, shuddering at the mini boost in defense as the Pound struck his side. It wasn't very strong at all, but he took it with a pained grunt. Damage was damage. "Tackle it." Susumu commanded, wondering if the Pineco would be able to strike at all. He did have some good physical defense, but speed was pretty lacking. Well, he figured that the Buneary couldn't dodge all of his attacks. The Pineco snapped out of his formation and charged ahead at the Buneary. ::pineco:: { Yamato } Level 7 ( Defense +1) Hit by Pound Uses Tackle

Buneary was thrown back by the Tackle and growled in irritation, shaking his fluffy fist at the Pineco even as his fluffy white stomach purpled painfully. Well, he would soon show that nasty little pinecone that Buneary were the royalty of Route One, and not to be tampered with, especially when they were just trying to relax in the comfort of their own burrows. Fist raised, Buneary rushed towards the Pineco in an angry stampede of righteous justice and brought his fist down on the Pineco, so annoyed that he didn't even try to raise his defense first. ::buneary:: Mood: Frustrated. "Harden!" Susumu cried, pointing at the Pineco in his excitement, but he was too late. Right in mid-harden, before the effects could take place, the speedy Pound knocked him right onto his back. Yamato yelped at the awkward position and started to rock back and forth in order to get back up. Grunting in annoyance, he went through with the Harden anyways. That one had hurt, and he wasn't as willing to let the rest of them phase him. "Geez...ah, just Tackle it." The trainer sighed, annoyed that his reflexes as a Trainer had been off. Well, even Yamato hadn't reacted fast enough. Both of their faults, really. The Buneary looked more ready to beat them up than ever; a worthy foe, even if it did look girly. <Aye-eye.> The Pineco huffed, releasing the Harden formation as he went right right onto his side, rolling quickly towards the Buneary with a Tackle attack. Much better than hopping towards it like last time, he figured. ::pineco:: { Yamato } Level 7 (Defense +2) Hit by Pound Uses Tackle

Buneary was thrown back by the Tackle again. A slight trickle of blood ran down one eye. It had been his face that had taken a beating this time. His poor fluffy face! It was a travesty! A tragedy even! That such a beautiful face should be marred by such an ugly little insect was inexcusable. It was now that the nasty little Buneary's true colours would come out. >Who do you think you are, you vile little insect?< He pointed a fluffy hand dramatically at the Pineco. >There's a pecking order around here, ya get it?<As the Buneary rushed the Pineco yet again, he yelled. >And you're right at the bottom!< before bringing his hand down on the more exposed, spineless part of the Pineco's top. ::buneary:: Mood: Smug.
