<Pecking order, huh? You saying that because I'm a bug?> He grunted, annoyed when the Pound struck him before he could harden his body. However, the move had gotten a lot weaker. Now it didn't feel as if he was phased, even if the Buneary had the Tackle stab'd. With a grin, he decided to screw using any more defensive moves, seeing that it would only slow him down at this point. "Go ahead." Susumu nodded, guessing that the Pineco was going to Tackle it again. With a flicker of amusement in his eyes, he started to roll towards the Buneary with a normal type Tackle attack. <Not even BIRDS can break my shell!> He bragged with a hearty laugh, even while rolling. Ok, ugh, maybe this was making him a little dizzy. However, it was the fastest, most efficient way to strike such a nimble opponent. ::pineco:: { Yamato } Level 7 Hit by Pound (Defense +2) Uses Tackle

Smirking in the light of his smug attitude, the bunny sneered at Yamato. <Yeah. I'm sayin' that because you're a bug,> he confirmed, with obvious swagger. <And y'know what always happens to bugs?> Buneary inched closer, allowing a dramatic air to fall over his words. <They get crushed underfoot!> Giving a cold cackle, he was feeling quite damn proud of himself and his little jokes.
That is, until the rolling Pokemon slammed into him, knocking him backward. An angry red flush was creeping up under his facial fur, and he snarled at the Pineco as he righted himself. <Stupid bug!> he hissed through gritted teeth, curling himself tighter in order to raise his Defenses. He'd show this little punk of a bug who was boss! Uncurling, he rushed toward Yamato and raised his fist to Pound it into the pinecone's side.

"...what a defensive little guy." Susumu looked at the Buneary with interest as it sunk its fuzzy body into another defense curl. At this rare, neither of their attacks were going to do any damage. "Harden." He commanded, as soon as he saw the Buneary spring out of the defensive pose. The Pineco got into his protective shell, a thin layer of coating covering his body in the process. He might've looked a tad glossier than before as well, a hint at his temporary stat boost. The Pound was still a bit painful, but his defense was outstanding at this point. He had to wonder if the Buneary would be able to take moves like he could at this point, which would make this a very, very long battle. "We'll stall it out." Susumu commented with a bored expression, knowing he could always help out Yamato with a Potion or some instant cure. The Pineco seemed to accept this as an answer, and charged with another Tackle attack. ::pineco:: { Yamato } Level 7 (Defense +3) Hit by Pound Uses Harden + Tackle

Buneary's body was whacked by the Pineco's body. Shaking his head he snarled. <Give up already! Your bug needs to be smushed under MY foot!> He yelled.
He curled up into a small ball, then, he pushed himself off the ground and went in for a Pound attack. This Bug just didn't know when to get squished!

<Shut up already, can't you see I'm not gonna be crushed?!> The Pineco huffed, wincing as the hard ear slammed on the top of his head. The tiny spike up there was a tad sensitive, but it wasn't the best place to aim for due to its sharpness. He grunted, feeling slightly exposed after that last move. "Harden. Then Tackle." Ok, so at this point, he didn't really have to say it. It was obvious that Self-Destruct was not needed, and protect only meant that they couldn't attack for a turn. To him, this was the best thing until they got better attacks. The Pineco gave an intimidating snarl as another coating of Harden layered against his body, giving it a silvery sheen. With a huff, he rolled towards the Buneary with another Tackle. It had to go down sometime, right? ::pineco:: { Yamato } Level 7 ( Defense +4) Hit by Pound Uses Tackle

The Tackle struck him between the eyes, making him stumble back with shock as a drop of blood dripped onto the ground. His skull ached, and he stumbled. It looked like concussion had set in, and fast. How he abominated his own foolish pride, which had earned him an extreme beating from this sentient pinecone. Stumbling back, it was almost as though tiny Pidgey were flying around Buneary's head as he fell back, totally out for the count. ::buneary:: Buneary has fainted. Yamato gains a level.

The two males looked on as the Tackle attack drew blood on the Buneary's head, a bit surprised that it had done that much. Maybe having a good defense made for a good offense, well, after using plenty of Hardens, maybe. Perhaps it would've been a good idea to purchase that nice Jade Stone he saw on sale in a very exclusive store, but that would've taken all day to walk to. Yamato happily walked back over to Susumu's side, sighing contentedly next to his trainer's warm legs. Susumu gave a weak smile, not used to the sudden display of affection. He supposed it wouldn't hurt to keep him out for a while, after all, the Buneary had fainted. "Let's try and catch it." He suggested, taking out his last empty Pokeball before tossing it at the Buneary. It sparked somewhat dangerously as it flew in the air, aiming for the Buneary's poofy foot. ::pineco:: { Yamato } Level 8

As the Pokeball whacked the Buneary's foot it was sucked inside. Being completely out cold the Buneary didn't even bother to fight it. It shook about three times before a faint 'click' was heard.

<We got it.> Yamato commented, hopping in front of the Pokeball with a curious glance. Very carefully, he nudged the sphere onto his nose and then onto his head, balancing it until he made it half way to his trainer...then he tripped and dropped the damn thing. Well, he wasn't all that good at balancing things. "Not sure what to do with you yet. Stay with us for a while though." He said softly as he picked up the Pokeball, examining it for a few moments before returning it to his side. He gave one look at Yamato before realizing he probably needed a break. Ever so silently, he returned the Pineco into his Pokeball, feeling that it was for the best. "Ok. I've got no fucking idea what kind of Pokemon are around here. Here's to living through it though." Raising a bottle of water in the air, he took a great big sip of its contents as he continued walking onward, having no real purpose in mind. If he saw something to fight, then he saw something. Too bad for them.

A small Pokemon was up ahead. Chasing it's own tail it ran itself tired. It flopped down and sighed. The Skitty's tail fell over it's face. Though it seemed to be having fun it sighed. All alone with no one to play with! <Why won't any of my friends come out and play?> She asked herself. Then, her ears picked up the sound of footsteps. She got up and tilted her head. What was this? A rare sight indeed! A Trainer was coming her way! She ran up to the Trainer and look up at him. Her eyes on his she smiled. <Play with me!> She said happily, then she started pawing at his foot. It wasn't really a question, more like a demand.

"Heh. You're cute." Susumu crouched down to meet the adorable Skitty's gaze, finding the creature absolutely adorable. Judging from the sound of its voice, he had to think that it was a female. If not, it was a very feminine looking boy. From what it appeared, she was only out looking for a good time. "You want to play?" He asked, quickly looking around for something to play with. A stick or something? Cats liked things that moved so they could chase them, right? He found a long, thin stick and started to drag it across the ground. At first very slowly, then all of a sudden zigzagging before retreating to a slow pace. It was his best act of a mouse's movements that he could muster, but it would've been fun enough for the cat, right? Err. Skitty. He kept forgetting these damn species names.

The Skitty's eyes followed the stick. Getting down low she stalked it. <I've got you.....now!> She pounced on the stick only to miss it by...a lot. She shook her head and started again, and again. She wasn't good at catching things but hey, this was a lot of fun! <Yay!> She said happily.
In the bushes a two pairs of eyes watched the Skitty. Then, pouncing out two Meowths came out. Hissing they were on four paws. <Hey you! You took our food!> The Female said, more hissing.
The Skitty's fur was on edge. Oh no, not them again! She turned her head and screamed. She hurried behind the Trainer's leg and peeked her head out. <I said I was sorry!> She yelled.
The Male hissed. <Be quiet! You're coming with us!> He said. Then both him and his partner advanced.

Susumu laughed when the Skitty pounced on the stick, not even realizing how fond he was of such a cute thing already. Sure, he most likely was not going to catch it due to its insane cuteness, but it was ok to chill out for a bit and relax. This was one of those times when breaks were useful. "You're good, aren't ya?" He asked, resisting the urge to use a baby-ish tone. He smiled good naturedly, trying to encourage the Skitty to keep playing. Then all of a sudden, there was this low growl. Something male and threatening. It clearly bothered the Skitty, because she mewed from behind him, as if scared of the two Meowths that came out of the foliage. Sensing a dangerous situation that was about to occur, he took out two Pokeballs, both ones that he had recently received in trades. "Madatsubomi. Jenna. I need your help, so please give me your best shot." He exclaimed as he released the two Pokemon from their respective Pokeballs. The two newest members on his team appeared before him in a flash; a Bellsprout and a Bidoof. The Bidoof instantly growled at the sight of the Bellsprout, until she realized that it wasn't the one that beat her up earlier. <...so what the hell did I miss?> Jenna growled, never having time to get acquainted with her new trainer. She was aware that Eleanor had given her away, but... <My my. They don't look too friendly.> The Bellsprout commented shyly, still a bit frazzled from the Bidoof's hostile nature towards her. "Jenna, go for a Growl. Bo-bo, get ready with a Growth." He ordered, wanting to be perfectly prepared before going in for the first attack. The two Pokemon nodded their heads, though Bo-bo took a second to realize what her name was. Jenna was more than happy to snarl at the two Meowths, finding their attitudes simply appalling. Bo-Bo meanwhile was bulking herself up, growing in size as her special attack rose. ::bidoof:: { Jenna } Level: 8 Uses Growl on both Meowths.

The Meowths hissed loudly. <You dare interfee with us? So be it.> The female said. She pounced at the Bidoof and her fangs out, she went in for a bite. Though the Growl ained her ears she attacked anyways.
The male hissed as the Growl entered hs ears. <Stay out of this!>He yelled. He advanced on the Bellspout with his claws out sreatched. He was going for a Scratch and he wasn't going to settle for like a small scar.
The Skitty mewed, it was scared to death! All she did was take a Oren berry from them! What was the big deal? She hid behind the Trainer's leg out of the Meowth's sight...hopefully.

The onslaught began as soon as he gained a protective nature over this small Skitty, and although Jenna was only in it for the fight, Bo-Bo showed some care for the poor dear. She only had a glimpse of her pink fur hiding behind him, but she was able to understand what was going on. Protect the new master and his friend! Aha! What a lovely goal indeed! "Tackle and Weatherball." He commanded, the only offensive moves the two could use reliably, but unfortunately, they had been struck by the enemy's attacks first. Bite went right through Jenna's waterproof, puffy fur, even if it did make a good defense, and the only good thing about the Bite was that it didn't draw blood. More vulnerable areas would have to be hit. Bo-Bo only had her leafy arms struck, since she raised them up to protect her vulnerable head. The two Pokemon reacted quickly to the orders; using both of their normal attacks, Jenna charged ahead first. She only had her eyes set on the one nearest to her, so that cocky Meowth was going down. Bo-Bo's Weatherball, which relied on her special attack, was only a normal type move at this point. It was a cloudy autumn day, and no sun meant no fire. No rain meant no water. Still, this was good enough for her. She raised the misty ball above her head before tossing it at the Meowth that scratched her.

The femme snarled as she was struck by the lumbering creature, skidding in the dust before springing to her feet with the agile movements only a feline could possess. Hissing to display her rage toward the two attacking her and the male, she lunged toward the Bidoof who'd wronged her, aiming to drag her long, sharp claws across her flank. <You'll pay for messing up my fur!> she insisted angrily.
The male, on the other hand, hastily lunged away from the Weather Ball attack. The dodge brought him much closer to the Bidoof than the Bellsprout who'd attempted to attack him, and so he decided that he had best aim for her, instead.
Growling at Jenna, he then proceeded to imitate his female counterpart, except he aimed for the Bidoof's face, rather than for her flank, as his mate had done.
Meanwhile, the Skitty was still terrified, though gaining confidence in the capability of her protector. She wanted to help, she really did, but she figured she might just get in the way of her valiant saviors. And so, instead of participating in the battle, she sat down anxiously and watched with wide eyes.

Sadly for Jenna, because of her abilities, her Growl attack on the Meowth did not lower their attack power when it came for her. It was only to support her stupid teammate that couldn't hit anything. She hissed in annoyance as the first Scratch got her in the flank, forcing her to back up as she whirled around to face the female. Then the male happened to Scratch her again, and really close to that exact spot. <Damn you all. Damnit damnit damnit.> She hissed, furious with the two felines. Without thinking, she charged at the weaker male and tried to Tackle the shit outta him for double teaming her. Plus, he seemed weaker. Perfect prey for her. <I don't know if I'm fond of this situation...> The Bellsprout sighed, as if the world was all against her. Seeing that she was free for a turn, her long, bendable head turned to face Susumu for further instruction. Actually, this was good. If her special attack was high enough, then she could possibly sweep the pair away. "Growth. Jenna, go for a Growl." He ordered, eyes persistent on the independent Bidoof to make sure she would at least listen to him. For the moment, she chose to agree. Letting out a bold Growl at both of the Meowths yet again, even if it wouldn't matter in her case. She was too Simple and Unaware. Yet Bo-Bo would stand a chance, at least. In fact, the Bellsprout was bulking herself up right now, intent on making herself strong and ready.

The male Meowth hissed as Jenna's bulk slammed into his body and scampered back, tail haphazardly flicking from side to side to show his irritation with the aggressive beaver and her plant companion. >Just give us the Skitty and we'll leave you alone," he hissed, feeling an ache forming in his stomach and chest area. >Hey! Hands off my man!< yowled the female Meowth, lunging at the Bellsprout instead of the attacking Bidoof, seeing that it was plotting something the way that it was growing beyond its natural size. Gnashing her teeth intimidatingly, she tried to clamp her teeth down on one of the Bellsprout's vine-like arms. Meanwhile, Skitty was hiding in a nearby bush, peeking out as her little pink and cream body shivered in fear, hoping this kind Trainer would rescue her, love her and play with her when he had finished with these evil Meowth. ::skitty::

Madatsubomi was extremely thankful that Jenna had used those two Growls, because Bite's damage was reduced by a lot, despite the Meowth's superior level. Still, it hurt. Teeth were teeth, and they were chompin' on her leaves. She yelped, thinking that she could've gotten away with another Growth before attacking, but so much for that plan. Jenna was having some trouble too, especially after the two felines had double teamed her like that. She resisted the urge to cry out when the male's claws scratched against her face, but it only came out as a muffled moan. It was pain, and it was only natural for her to express it. "Damn. Hang in there, guys. Weather Ball and Tackle." Susumu ordered, seeing that there was no time to rely on stat moves now. The Bellsprout made a hasty, but extra powerful Weatherball on the female Meowth, while the Bidoof made for a Tackle on the weakening male's chest.

Holy freaking Arceus! Meowth gawked as the Weather Ball connected with her stomach, knocking the breath out of her so that she had to suck it in loudly, desperately, and hilariously. So much so that the hiding Skitty let out a mewing laugh as the female Meowth glared at the offending Bellsprout. The male couldn't quite jump aside as Jenna the Bidoof slammed into his chest, knocking out what remained of his strength. Damnit! He didn't wanna leave his mate to be outnumbered by these two, but did he really have a choice? As his vision and consciousness slipped away into blackness, Meowth hissed at the giggling Skitty before going silent. He had fainted. The female glared at Bidoof over her pants for breath. How... how dare that ugly, big toothed menace knock out her mate! Switching targets with a vengeful yowl, the female Meowth tried to latch her teeth into the Bidoof's furry side. This had just gotten personal. ::meowth:: Male Meowth faints. Bobo and Jenna each gain .5 of a level.
