The irony of being in Verona was that Abram had only just been in here a few weeks ago taunting other trainers and expressing how the life of a pokemon trainer or coordinator was not a life he would ever pursue, but the situation at hand was completely different then he thought it would be. A new sort of personality and ideals washed over him as he began his pursuit of pokemon master and now, he would never ask for a new sort of life. Abe had always been known as a sort of elitist jerk and never let anyone think different of him. In the academy where he learned about pokemon, he was brilliant and knew the tactics but when it came down to executing his role as trainer, it never did happen. This new experience would hopefully change him for the better instead of being a hindrance and a wasted effort on Abram’s part.
Abram smiled as his fingers gracefully caressed his two pokeballs that rested safely on his belt. Only one of them had been filled because Kol (the Ekans) had been coiled around his left arm hissing at others who came close enough. Did this make Abram think he was hot shit? Totally. Despite only been a week out in the real pokemon world, he thought he was the best. ”Someone battle me.” he spoke to himself, eyeing out his competition. He didn’t necessarily just want a battle. He wanted to talk to others and learn, something about this experience was a little changing and instead of being a jerk, he was somehow learning to use other people to become a stronger, more powerful trainer.

He did not really remember. Before this, the capital wasn't as... glamourous. Maybe this is where all the funding in Cheyenne had been going to. It wasn't that bad of a change, he supposed, and battling a nameless trainer in a test of skill wasn't bad either.
He wondered if any of them would even be a challenge. He supposed this would also test his pokemon's ability in battle, to know how to control themselves indoor. The environment was different, the circumstances were different. It should still be a piece of cake, though.
The words, a demand of a battle, reached Blaze's ears. "Only if you're game," he replied. For once, Ryuuku wasn't with him. The Charizard hadn't wanted to go indoors, where he couldn't fly free, so Blaze let him fly free for a bit until he was done with his little sightseeing of the place. Even without his strongest asset, he did not doubt that the battle would end in a victory.
If the other trainer accepts, of course. Though it was customary for trainers to battle each other if their eyes meet, he had met some... well, one trainer, that didn't. But he guessed it didn't count. That boy didn't even want to battle anyone. What a pathetic being. At least here, it was clear to everyone that pokemon enjoyed fighting. They had evolved to be able to withstand attacks and faint, instead of dying. They had learned to enjoy the art of battle.

Abram looked at Blaze and instantly recognized the strong trainer instantly. Although, Abram was a completely new trainer he didn't mind trying a go at the infamous trainers arsenal. "It's quite a pleasure Blaze. I know you, the infamous Blaze. I've only heard the greatest of things, the aspiring fire master of Cheyenne. I'm Abram. An aspiring trainer, my name may not be well-known yet but in time I will be. Trust me. Anywho, single battles. I have three pokemon so, 3 vs 3? It'll probably be 3 vs 1 after hearing how strong and accomplished you are but I'm okay with that."
The first pokemon he would try to battle with would be his Ekans, Kol the sneaky snake pokemon slid from Abram's hand onto the battlefield and instantly coiled up ready to pounce at whatever pokemon came his way. "You can start."

He had almost forgotten about his dreams to capture every fire Pokémon there was. But this guy knew how to flatter, and it worked pretty well.
"Thank you Abam," he replied, "I am glad that my name has not been completely forgotten." He thought about the Pokémon he was going to use, before finally settling with his Quilava. If Abram had really just started out, this would be a joke of a battle. But he needed his girl to evolve, to be able to use a couple of TMs on her. Blaze just hoped that her personality wasn't worse as a Typhlosion.
Ashes came out, quite proud that she had been the one Blaze chose. It had nothing to do with the fact she was the lowest level, of course. To her, she was just the best, the one that would rise up to be her trainer's favourite, because who didn't love her? Her opponent was a snake. Well, this was going to be easy. The quilava let out strong flames come out of her body.
"I hope you're ready for this," he told the trainer. "Ashes!" The tone was harsh, completely different from before, as a warning for his Pokémon not to fool around too much. He never did know when the little furret would decide to do something 'cute' to show off. This was not the time for that, however. "Quick Attack!"
The order was heard, Ashes wincing at the sound of her name, before she got ready to strike. Her hind legs pushed off from behind her, launching her foraward at a great speed toward the snake Pokémon.

Great." Abram roared as he watched his Ekans squirm slightly, "Dodge!. And Use Bite!" Abram didn't really have much confidence in his Ekans considering the fact that is was level 4 and to have a Quilava you need to be at least high teens. The Ekans fainted on the spot by the Quick Attack and Abram expected it. "Meh. Go Murkrow! Use Drill Peck!" he spoke with confidence as he released his Murkrow.
The dark Pokémon rushed over straight to the Quilava and began to lengthen his beak and aimed it straight into the Quilava's eye.

The ease of the battle, though something he should be used to, wasn't sitting well with him. Usually, he could convince himself that he was doing things for Team Death. This time, the excuse was gone. He was doing this on his own volition, and it made him feel guilty. Those pokemon, they did not deserve to lose like that.
"Ashes, finish it," he said, his voice flat, neutral, uninterested, almost dead. This was more than an unfair matchup. The bird pokemon's attack did hit, digging into the quilava's side when she tried to dodge. Immediately, fire sprouted out from the openings on her head and behind, surrounding her body before she retaliated with a flaming tackle -- a flame wheel. This attack was new to the pokemon, but the rush of feeling all that fire around her as she went in for the hit was simply exhilarating. She loved it.

He did expect this but he did not quite expect the severity of how quickly Abram was going to lose. He sucked up his pride and did note that Blaze has been doing this sort of thing for the longest time and it would be only the highest of honors to lose by someone like him. Did this mean Abram wasn't going to try? No. Abe was going to try his hardest to give Blaze some sort of battle he might remember (although probably not). "Okay. Nyx. Use Astonish and dodge!" this would be his attempt to create a distant battle so Nyx could slowly take away the damage being done by the flames.
Nyx eloquently, as awkward as that sounds, flew in circles and closely dodged the Quilava. Nyx let out a crow sound to emit how happy it was before he used his astonish attack.

The crow flew quite efficiently, managing to avoid damage from his quilava. He watched as the pokemon flew around a few times, feeling not quite as guilty knowing that this wasn't going to be a complete plowing of the other trainer's team. If nothing, Abram had nimble pokemon.
The murkrow made the fatal mistake of announcing his attack, as the moment Blaze saw it come close for the astonish, he quickly ordered Ashes to counter with a quick attack, taking advantage of the close quarters.
The fire pokemon was hit by the astonish, not expecting to be startled at the last minute by it, but did not waste any time. It was her job in Blaze's team to show everyone how amazing she was, especially as a fire pokemon. Besides, that crow was such an ugly pokemon. She just had to show it its place. The moment she recovered from the attack, she countered with her own.

Abram smirked as he watched his Murkrow get slowly closer to the Quilava. He was slightly worried by the close-range but in one swift motion the crow pokemon had been on the floor fainted. Abe shook his head in disagreement before he returned his bird pokemon. "Goodjob. Go Tyr!" It had now been his Cyndaquil's time to try his best and take on the Quilava.
"Double Edge and Leer." Abram commanded, the bond that his pokemon had hadn't been strong enough for them to silently communicate with each other, so he needed to use his words to tell his pokemon on how to use their skills/moves.
Tyr the Cyndaquil began with enlarging his eyes, trying to lower the defense of the Quilava. Secondly, it rushed off as quick as possible using a Double Edge attack hoping that the damage done would benefit more then the recoil damage it would take.

There was nothing else to do, except finish Abram and whatever he still had left. He had not expected a little cyndaquil to pop out, though, and wouldn't help but quirk his lips up just a bit at the sight of the fire pokemon. Ashes was also a bit startled by her opponent, not quite wanting to harm it, because this was kin, though also wanting to defeat it quickly to prove to Blaze she was the best of the best, in battle, amongst her own kind, everywhere.
The command of a double-edge surprised Blaze quite a bit. His own quilava hadn't come with any particular egg moves. This one was certainly a powerful one! "Dodge, Quick Attack!" Blaze said the moment his opponent's commands registered. This would ultimately come down to how strong the opposing fire pokemon was. However, the other two had been relatively weak, so he assumed the same for this one.
The double edge hit the quilava hard. The fire ferret hadn't felt that pain since she last battled with that water weasel. And even then, it had been different. That one was a wet kind of pain. This one was just pain, plain and simple. Before the quilava could get away, Ashes retaliated with the speedy attack, sides still aching from the impact of the double edge.

"You sure did use Quick Attack a lot." Abram spoke as he watched the quick Quilava move with a grace towards him. In the course of the battle it sure did exponentially grow in battle, in the beginning it must've not shown it's true potential as a battler. "Go Use Ember!" he yelled out to Tyr but it was too late, the Cyndaquil was hit and that was the end of the battle.
Abram returned his Cyndaquil and gave a weak smirk to Blaze, "Thanks. For showing me what I want to become. You're strong, I promise you one day I will train hard enough to give you a decent battle." he waited to shake Blaze's hand before he went off to heal his pokemon that was just defeated by the infamous Blaze Ferrio.

Blaze did not feel as satisfactory about his victory as he could have, but he would take what he got. Besides, he still needed to train Ashes until evolution, where some stronger attacks would be able to shine.
"It is important to know when to use your attacks. Speed benefits more than power, during the battle, and so to attack swiftly yielded better results," he told Abram. He wasn't even sure why he was spieling such advice. Maybe the lack of fear from the younger trainer, the resolve to get better and the lack of a disgusted, sour look on his face made Blaze a bit more accommodating. "When you become stronger, I would love to gauge your skills again."
Ashes had been gloating, seemingly unaware or unwilling to admit that she had just destroyed three pokemon a fraction of her size and level. Blaze was not too impressed about it, but did not comment. He simply returned the pokemon to her ball, shrugged and gave a slightly apologetic look, before leaving the trainer lounge. He would be back here. Eventually.
