MIRACLE OF LIFE
The egg on the table began to shake violently and releasing a bright light from every crack. Suddenly it burst, water releasing from the egg and soaking the table. Where the egg once was was now a pink coral pokemon.

When the egg hatched, Sam was surprised to see a little Corsola pop out of it. He had never seen an egg hatch in his life before and it was surprising, and very amazing to see this one hatch right before his eyes. He was surprised, and very amazed, at the sight he had just witnessed.
After that he began to take back his egg from Gligar and hug it ever so gently. <"I can not believe that when I am done... You will also be popping out like this Corsola. This will be so interesting!!"> Sam said to his egg. He was very excited. Gligar flew up and looked at them, as he too was excited to see what would pop out of the egg.
Sam was also surprised that Adeleine had popped an egg before, and this was not her first one. He was curious to how she took care of it in the early stages, as he had never experienced this before and it would be nice to get advice. He was going to ask his parents also... But better to get some advice now, and surprise his parents.
<"So... when you got the egg, how did you take care of it? Did it have to eat special food since it was so young? Or could it eat almost anything? I'm very interested to finding out because I have never done something like this in my life...">
He hugged the egg a little longer, giving it a lot of warmth and a lot of love. Hoping it will be big and strong.

Adeleine had left and returned to find that her egg had turned into a Corsola! Well that was new. She patted it on the head, before returning it to its pokeball from her stash of them. She didn't want it to catch a cold or something. She didn't really want it to get sick, as that would be bad parenting.
"Well, that corsola certainly was a surprise. Had no idea the egg was lying just on the ground." Adeleine seemed a bit nonchalant about it, but she really cared about the egg. She returned to her book, putting the other one on the table back in the bag. Thankfully, it didn't get wet. Adeleine didn't glance up from her novel, but gave Sam acknowledgement.
"My two babies didn't have any problems eating food. It varies based on pokemon, though. Yours might be different. Shuckles and Cleffas are pretty tough pokemon." Adeleine continued reading the book, looking like she would ignored Sam if she had not even said anything.

Sam thought about his egg and hoped that the pokemon will be tough. <"When you grow up, I hope you are big and strong and super tough yourself."> Sam said while rubbing his egg. He hugged it some more as he smiled at it and continued to rub it. Sam then turned to Adeleine and asked her how she felt about getting the Corsola.
<"I know you said that you were okay with anything... But were you pleasantly surprised, maybe even happy, that it turned out to be a Corsola? It does fit in your team in my opinion. And it does give some diversity also...">
He began to rub his egg some more and really hoped that it would turn out to be a Bagon. <"Oh how I would love for you to be a Bagon... That would be the most awesome thing ever. But regardless, please just be strong and healthy. That is all I can really ask for.">
Sam then gestured to Adeleine and asked if she would like to battle with him once his egg hatches. It would give both pokemon a chance to get some battle experience, and it'd be two babies going against each other so it wouldn't get out of hand.

Adeleine sighed, Sam didn't really get her. He was asking his newborn to battle her newborn. That came off a bit odd for her, so she shook her head.
"I'm fairly glad. I just didn't feel the need to scream it to the heavens." Adeleine took a sip of her tea, then set it down. She took a glance at her book for a few seconds before returning her attention to Sam. He looked like any other kid trainer, rugged and ready for adventure.
"I'm not too keen on having a newborn battle. I'm sorry, I'll pass." Adeleine sipped her tea again, she really didn't want her Corsola battling fresh out of her egg. It was bad parenting.

Sam was a bit young, naive, and very immature... He knew it and Adeleine knew it too. He had not thought about the repercussions of having a newborn battle. He had a lot to learn and began to feel a bit embarrassed. He even blushed a little.
<"I'm sorry, you are right. They are too young to battle. They need nurturing, not get thrown out there in a hostile environment so soon...">
Sam began to hug his egg and apologized to it... Even though it could not hear him. Again it showed his naive, and immature nature.
<"I'm sorry for suggesting the idea. You have to learn to battle first, before you can actually go out there and battle others. You will still be a baby and babies must crawl before they can walk, must walk before they can run. I hope you won't come to resent me when you grow up. I will try my best!">
Sam said to his egg while he began to hug it and breathe at it to keep it warm. He was excited to have his very first egg, but he was also very scared because he was still very much a child himself. He didn't know how to raise others... And here he was, given an egg by his parents and forced to raise it.
<"I will definitely be proud of you, no matter what you become.">[/b] He said while rubbing his egg. He had thought about going to the store and making a purchase for Experience Share. That way his pokemon can get some experience without fighting and get stronger. It would be a good and easy way to raise whatever pops out of the egg... And a good way to teach it to crawl so it can walk.
He then gestured to Adeleine and asked her what she was reading.
<"I have noticed the books you have been reading and it got me to think. What are you reading? If I may ask?">[/b]
Sam asked Adeleine, he was generally interested, but also wanted to show Adeleine that he was aware and kind of annoyed by her reading while talking to him in what seemed like a "date."

Adeleine glanced up from her book, he wanted to know what she was reading? That's odd, no one ever bothered to ask her before. She sighed, slipping him a copy of Discourse on the Method of Rightly Conducting One's Reason and of Seeking Truth in the Sciences that she had with her.
"It's a book by Descartes, though I don't think you've heard of him." Adeleine bemused to herself that anyone had even heard of him around here, a philosopher during the rennaisance. A lot of his ideas now were prevalent, but that didn't mean anyone knew him.
"It's a bit complicated, but you could skim if you want." Adeleine pulled out another book, and began reading that one while waiting for the other to be returned to her.

Sam was offended that she would assume he had never heard, or read Descartes. He is an intelligent fella who went to a top of the line academy. Although, he had never read Descartes... Even so, he was very offended that she would assume he lacked her intelligence... Although, he probably did lack her intelligence.
He chose not to take the book though as he still had his egg in his arms so he did not want to make a wrong turn and drop it. He hoped this egg would not treat him like a buffoon... Like how Adeleine was doing at the moment. He hoped that whatever hatched from the egg would see him as the intelligent, and charming fella he was. Something she apparently had not seen yet as she kept ignoring him and started to question his intelligence. He didn't say anything to Adeleine but kindly declined to read the book...
He didn't want her to know what he was thinking, they weren't getting off to the best of starts yet so he did not want to ruin any friendship they could potentially have... or acquaintanceship. He knew from being in the academy (his school) that the minute you start coming clean, drama starts happening, and friends start to become enemies. Or friendships just end. He didn't want that to happen in Cheyenne so he was just going to keep his big mouth shut.
He looked at the egg, hugged it, rubbed it, and hugged it again. He really hoped that this pokemon would treat him well. Or at the very least, respect him.

Adeleine took the book back, accepting that he didn't want to read it. She wasn't the best of company, naturally.
"Ah, okay. Well...I'll just put it back." She put back both books she had, and only had one remaining book that she was reading now. It was pretty engrossing, and she almost lost herself in the pages. She wasn't trying to be rude, she just got absorbed by books easily.
"It looks like a healthy egg, the more you hold onto it; the more feelings that affect it. If you treat it positively, it'll grow up well." Adeleine flipped a page, sipping some of her jasmine tea.

Sam listened to Adeleine's advice and smiled slightly. <"I will treat you so so well, whatever you turn out to be. You will be loved like no one else. My parents loved me and raised me so well, and you will be raised by me the same exact way.">[/b] Sam said to the egg.
He then wanted to make an obvious comment at Adeleine, but one she would hopefully take as a compliment. <"You seem to really like books... Is that one of your biggest hobbies? Reading?"> After he said it, he did not really see how it could sound like a compliment at all... But he hoped she understood what he was getting at. He wanted to say she was very smart, very intellectual. Very book savy. But all of that did not come out. The only thing that came out was, "You seem to really like books..."
He was kind of mad at himself... But he just continued to hug his egg and continue to rub it. Hoping he'd do better with it then he was doing with Adeleine...

Adeleine nodded to him, flipping another page as she read about certain facts and thoughts of Descartes. His main philosophy intrigued her, as doubting existence was proof you existed.
"One of my hobbies. I'm just very fond of it, I suppose." She flipped another page, trying to take in more information. She wasn't much of a talker, and she was really bad at gatherings like this. At least during battles and the like, she resisted making it awkward.
"I've been reading since I was born, so I guess it's just kinda stuck. I wouldn't travel without my books, that's for sure!" Adeleine smiled, turning another page.

Sam kind of laughed when Adeleine said that she had been reading ever since she was born. He thought she was being sarcastic and making a joke, although she said it with a straight face. It probably was a little rude and very disrespectful, but he just could not see how someone would learn to read before they could even learn to speak...
He did think about it though, and thought about potentially raising his pokemon like that. Maybe he would make this pokemon that popped out be very intelligent, and very educated? There were only two, maybe three, pokemon species that are intelligent enough to speak to humans... He can't create another species to be that intelligent, but maybe she can make a specific pokemon be that intelligent just by raising it the right way. He thought about it and gave it some serious thought... But also did not see how he would exactly accomplish this as he could not really speak to, or understand pokemon. But hey, you have to learn to speak... that isn't a natural ability. So maybe he can teach this pokemon to speak. Maybe this will be the only pokemon that would learn human talk, instead of poke speech.
But would that be a good thing? He began to think about it... He didn't want the pokemon to be weird and abnormal. He didn't want every other pokemon to tease it, and bully it, for being different... He was never bullied so he doesn't know how it'd feel, but he never thought it'd be a good thing. So he began to scratch off that idea.
But regardless, Sam was getting a little ahead of himself. He should wait for the egg to hatch first, before deciding what he would do with it. He began to hug the egg and keep it warm by even embracing it with his thighs. And he continually breathed in it so that it would not feel cold at all. It was starting to get very warm, and he felt like he could feel some movement inside the egg. He was excited as it seemed his time had almost come. He could feel that the egg was going to hatch at any minute...

Adeleine signaled for a waiter, who took her cup and cake and went to supposedly dispose of the dishes. Adeleine was done, she'd finished the first chapter of her book. Only a few more to go, and she'd be done with the entire thing! Sighing, she put all of her books back and stood up. Pushing her chair in, She walked around the table and waved to Sam.
"It was nice, really; hope that egg hatches into something great." Adeleine bowed, taking her time exiting the building. She had someone else to meet up with, and she was ready to get where she was needed.

Sam nodded and said bye to her while she left. He wanted to wave but with the egg, he was in no position to do so. He hugged the egg, and clutched it one more time as he felt it was getting lively and hoped that it was going to hatch soon. He felt he made a good friend today in Adeleine and was very proud to have met her.
He began to hug the egg and rub it some more as he prayed that it would be something healthy, strong, loving, and caring. He hoped to be a great parent to this egg, and hoped to get along really well with this egg. His parents raised him very well, he hoped he can be half as good to the egg as his parents had been to him. He hugged the egg one more time and said <"I feel we will be together forever."> Before waiting to see what will pop out of the egg.

Oh would you look at that? There was an egg that was starting to hatch! In the darkness of the shell, there was the light of life that acted like a match. It grew with intensity as a shape took form, and once it broke through it wasn't an egg anymore. Its eyes narrowed and its arms tried to move, trying to feel the groove of its muscles, and find its parents that should've been there to soothe.
The Bagon's eyes opened again, taking in the situation at hand. Looking mean, looking tough, until finally-- WAHHH! Tears streamed from its eyes as it drew in its first big breath, only the first step in its long life, having no fear of death.

Sam could not believe his eye. What ended up coming out of the egg was a Bagon, his favorite pokemon in the entire world. He quickly hugged it and proceeded to go to a nearby city to call his parents and tell them the news. He was so excited that the pokemon he had found was a Bagon.
That was his favorite pokemon in the entire world. And he was excited to teach it some new moves, and get it stronger over time...
He exited the room and proceeded to make his way out towards the next city, Electric.
