As a general rule, Celia was not too fond of malls, and this one had been no different. Too much brightness, too many flashy displays, and way too much noise. Celia pushed her way half blind through crowds of people in the parking lot, trying to get away from the place as fast as possible and never come back.
The tiny girl darted among the cars jam-packed in the parking lot, seeking some sort of shelter from the overwhelming bustle, and she went more or less unnoticed except for when she accidentally bumped into people. She could hear angry yells behind her—after all, most people would expect an apology when a random girl shoves them aside with considerable force, or runs straight into the path of their car—but she ignored them. As rude as it was, they wouldn't be able to hear her whispered apologies anyway.
Suddenly, Celia noticed a little building nearby, half-hidden in the shadow of the mall, and she immediately made a beeline towards it. Anywhere secluded, away from the crowds, and out of the bright afternoon sunlight was good enough for her at this point.
She wandered silently into the building—apparently a Pokémon Pound, according the sign—and the first thing that caught her sight was a tiny, forlorn-looking male Nidoran in a corner. When Celia looked around more closely, she saw more Pokémon lingering around the place, all looking rather lonely and miserable... they must be the abandoned Pokémon. Her heart instantly went out to all of them. She glanced around questioningly for a secretary, or an owner, or anybody else who could advise her on how to help the poor creatures.

Granny Sabitha
"A guest?" Granny stood up with her sore back aching in the process, but she kept a firm face about it. These aches were a part of her daily routine now, and she did not want to resort to medication to making it feel all better. She wandered over to the girl that was browsing, noticing that she may have had an interest in the Nidoran Male.
She smiled calmly, liking it whenever people came in. These Pokemon did have a home with her, but she liked to give them away to the trainers that could actually care for them. Not the ones that left them in their PCs, or gave to friends. It all seemed silly to her, especially when these Pokemon needed a stable home.
"If you're interested in adopting, I have a form you could fill out." She informed, holding the clipboard and pen in her hand for the girl to claim. The pen was tied on with a string, just in case people tried to steal her limited pen supply.
The Form:
Which Pokémon do you want, and why do you want this particular Pokémon?
How many Pokémon do you currently have in your team?
Will you train or love this Pokémon?
Have you adopted recently? If so, how recent?
Do you understand that the nicknames are permanent?

Adopt? She could adopt a Pokémon? Wouldn't that cost money though?
Celia glanced down at the Nidoran again and the last thought was instantly chased out of her mind. Money was nothing compared to kindness. She carefully took the clipboard and pen the old lady offered her and looked over the form.
Which Pokémon do you want, and why do you want this particular Pokémon?
"I want the purple Nidoran," Celia wrote down immediately. She paused for a moment before continuing, "I don't have enough money for all of them... but I think the Nidoran would make a good friend for now."
The pen hovered briefly above the paper, and then Celia crossed out "the Nidoran" and wrote "Conrad" over it. It was always nicer to use names; it made them seem more like individuals who mattered.
How many Pokémon do you currently have in your team?
Her hand darted briefly down to her pocket, where a single Pokéball was nestled comfortably. "One. Her name is Rue and she's a Miltank."
Will you train or love this Pokémon?
A crease appeared on Celia's forehead as she reread the question in confusion. Pokémon were supposed to be your partners through the thick of battle and the heat of competition... who wouldn't love them deep down inside? Did those kinds of people even exist? "Of course, that's what you're supposed to do," she wrote. And then, her childish mind not even considering tact, she added below it, "Why is this question even here?"
Have you adopted recently? If so, how recent?
"No."
Do you understand that the nicknames are permanent?
"Yes." Celia knew she wouldn't like it either if somebody took her in and randomly changed her name. It would be like changing their identity; it just wouldn't be right.
Shifting nervously on the spot, the morph offered the form and the pen back to the lady and waited tensely to see what she would say.

Granny Sabitha
When the girl was filling out the form, she couldn't help but giggle with a handkerchief covering her wrinkled lips. It was quite a sight seeing such a dedicated youth, eager to take in a new Pokemon and make a difference. Conrad was a good, gentle Pokemon when treated with kindness. He had just been mistreated oh so much, and she hardly knew what he had went through, that it seemed difficult to let him heal. She let the Nidoran out of his cage, at least to let him investigate his potential new trainer.
<Why am I out? It isn't lunch time yet, or breakfast time. Not normal.> He shivered, relaxing at Granny Smith's soft touch as she let him down on the ground, encouraging him to explore. As Celia wrote down the form, he stared up at the girl awkwardly, as if he wasn't sure what to do. At the very least, he went a bit closer to her, sniffing the air to make sure she was ok.
When the form was complete and the girl got up, Conrad bolted behind the desk, twitching nervously as Granny Smith examined the form. She was quite pleased with what she saw, and fully verified Conrad's new trainer. "Do handle Conrad with care, dear." She smiled, returning the Nidoran to his Pokeball and handing it to the girl.

Celia didn't notice Conrad edging slowly closer to her, investigating her cautiously, until the old lady took back her form. She gave a small start when the Nidoran suddenly hid away from her as she stood up, and she crouched down to be more at eye-level with the Pokémon. He reminded the morph of herself in some ways, temperament-wise... they would probably get along very nicely.
When the lady confirmed the adoption, not minutes after getting back the form, Celia stared at her. That... that was it? It was done? They could really go now? Taking Conrad's Pokéball carefully with both hands, Celia mumbled something inaudible along the lines of a thanks, and she stumbled out of the pound and back into the afternoon sunlight. The day seemed just a little bit brighter, in more ways than one.

((OOC: Seeing as though Toma just left a Growlithe as well as other PKMN, this post should work out just fine))
Keith came walking into the Pokémon Pound Casually as he took a good hard look around at all the Pokémon that were pounded. Those Poor Pokemon, they no longer had a home. He then Spotted a Growlithe that must've been recently left.. Just the Pokémon he wanted. He called out.
"Excuse me anyone here running this place. I would like to adopt this growltihe please."

He was here again – the same place he’d come to adopt that Poliwag, Amphitrite. This time, however, he’d heard about a Pokémon called Steelix: a giant Steel Type which would be an excellent addition to his team, if he was given the chance to take it with him. His eyes travelled around to where Keith – a man with a Shadow Lucario, as he’d heard – called into the building. Ignoring Keith, Merrick walked past and looked through the pen to see the steel beast, half-asleep and coiled around itself.
His icy blue eyes blazed and he nodded silently to himself in approval. This was the Pokémon he was after. But would the elderly woman that ran this place allow him to adopt the Steelix, known as Shelly? “Sabitha,” Merrick called loudly. He couldn’t stay for long – he had some business to attend to elsewhere.
Level: 8 Cost of 1 level: 200PD 200 x 8 = 1,600PD
Steelix costs 1,600PD Pokemon currently on team: Shadow Croagunk, Houndour, Gorebyss, Dratini. (4)
Merrick would like to adopt
Species: Steelix Level: 8 Gender: Male Met: Achievement Hypnotist (Random Egg) Item: [image] (Last 1 more round) Type: [image] [image] Ability 1: Rock Head Ability 2: Sturdy Attack Set 1: Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, Rock Climb, Ice Fang Attack Set 2: Screech, Stealth Rock, Harden, Bind Personality: The powerhouse of the team. ::excadrill:: Granny Sabitha and Fluffy
She hadn't even taken in the pokemon yet, allowing them to heal for a bit in the back room when the trainers came in. She had to make sure they were all right and had healed a bit emotionally before even considering placing them into the hands of a new trainer. So how did they even know about the pokemon? Were they... godmodding?
Sabitha frowned. The pokemon weren't ready, and these trainers definitely did not seem like they needed any help along hte way. She spotted the trainer that had adopted the adorable poliwag. Last time he came in, he had four pokemon already. With Amph, it'd be five, so he shouldn't really even be in here. And then Fluffy seemed to be a bit antsy around the other trainer. The excadrill had this innate ability to tell experienced trainers, from their posture, their speech, and just the way they conducted themselves. Neither of them were newbies. And Granny Sabitha opened her pound for her trainers who had the place in their team to love and care for these pokemon.
Sabitha steeled herself and looked at the two trainers, with one hand placed on Fluffy's large drills. "I am sorry," she said. "I only have Tithonus for adoption, right now. Besides, I am sure the two of you are strong enough that you wouldn't need help from little ol' me!"
She then turned to Merrick. "How is Amphitrite doing? I would love to see how she has bonded to you!"

Keith looked at the woman with a look on his face that wishes she would reconsider. He wanted to adopt a Pokémon not for the reason of using it on a team but because Growlithe was one of his favorite fire types.
"Please ma'am. I came here in hopes of giving a Pokémon a good home with me. I know that these Pokémon have had a hard life and I wish to help out a good cause."
He was determined to walk out of the Pound with at least one new Pokémon. Even if he didn't he wanted to know that he had at least tried his best.
"I'll understand your reasoning if you still won't part with it. If that's the case I will respectfully leave no questions asked ma'am."

Granny Sabitha and Fluffy
Sabitha pursed her lips just a bit. Yet Tithonus has been here for a while, so perhaps this trainer could give him a good home. If he passed the test, of course. Fluffy shifted a little bit, making sure nothing bad was going to happen. Most trainers tended to simply leave, but this one seemed much more insistent. The Excadrill did not believe the trainer was a new trainer, that he would qualify for the help of the pokemon pound.
Behind the bars, the Metapod watched, a bit worried and wondering what was going to happen. Would he be able to be released from his cage? To be allowed to be free again? As long as he wasn't put in a pokeball. No pokeball for him. Nope sir-ee.
Still, the woman slid over a form and a pen and waited for the trainer to fill it up, as she turned to Merrick, wanting to see how the little poliwag was doing.
The Form:
Which Pokémon do you want, and why do you want this particular Pokémon?
How many Pokémon do you currently have in your team?
Will you train or love this Pokémon?
Have you adopted recently? If so, how recent?
Do you understand that the nicknames are permanent?

Keith went to reach for the form. He got the sense that he started to bite off a little more then he could chew. As he reached to grab it he then noticed something he didn't realize was there before. It was a sign explaining clearly the rules about being able to adopt a Pokemon from here.
RULES TO ADOPT (x) Explain to Granny Sabitha why you want to adopt a particular Pokémon in character. (x) You must love and train any Pokémon you adopt. (x) You may only adopt a Pokémon if you have less than five Pokémon on your team (x) You may not sell/trade the adopted Pokémon. If your love for it wanes, return it to the pound (x) You may not alter the nickname (x) You may only adopt once a month.
He quickly directed his eyes to the rule stating that he had to have less then five Pokemon in his team to be able to adopt. In a sense he thought to himself it was counter productive. For a very simple reason indeed. If this was a Pokemon Pound then the purpose of it would for abandoned Pokemon to find a new home. However this place set strict specifics of who can take those Pokemon home there for lowering chance of the Pokemon to find a new home. It was then that Keith realized he was out of luck. He had 6 Pokemon on his team as well as 4 more in his PC that may never get used. A sad face creased his face at that moment as he held out his hand in front of the form.
"I'm really sorry ma'am. But looking at your rules about adoption, I do not meet the requirements. I have six Pokemon and that too many to be able to adopt this little fellow. I'm very very sorry to disappointed." He started to make his way towards the door as he said "I really hope everyone here finds a good home ma'am. Good luck." With that statement he left the pound.

Something told Merrick he wouldn’t be adopting anything here today, and he turned as the elderly woman appeared, an Excadrill in tow. Hmmm, and there was another trainer as well. One he’d seen in the Team Death sign up, to be precise. He’d not really got far, Merrick assumed, because he hadn’t given Blaze all of the information he had asked for. Well, whatever. He didn’t give a damn. Amphitrite – the Poliwag – was doing fairly well. Merrick hadn’t used the Water type in his team – he had a Gorebyss now, but he was thinking about using the Poliwag for something else later on. He’d heard the Electric City gym had Ground types...
“Amphitrite is faring well,” he mentioned, and reached for a Pokéball. Silently he released the Pokémon, where it stood upon the desk, curling her tail contently around her body. She glanced at Merrick with a smile before she realised where she was, and shrunk back against Merrick. She didn’t like this place, and she hoped that Merrick wasn’t going to abandon her again, but he simply picked her up and placed her on his shoulder to sit. She balanced herself using her tail and blinked at Sabitha, noting Fluffy. Oh, she liked that Excadrill quite a bit, actually. But she wasn’t going to stay – hell, not if she had anything to say about it.

Granny Sabitha and Fluffy
The man had reached for a pokeball that hadn't been there a few seconds ago, but Sabitha did not question it. She was getting old, and her vision wasn't as good as she remembered. She smiled at the sight of Amphitrite, the little poliwag just as she remembered it. Had he grown stronger? More confident? She couldn't really tell, but gently pat the Pokémon on the head. "He's treating you well, I hope?" she asked, her voice soft, before turning to Merrick again.
"So, here to adopt... Tithonus?" she asked, looking at the Pokémon she had, in their pens. All were empty, apart from the one holding the metapod, one eye closed, pretending to be sleeping, and the other one wide open to see what was going on. The other trainer had left. Would this one go too?
The woman slid the form over, one that should be more than familiar to Merrick.
The Form:
Which Pokémon do you want, and why do you want this particular Pokémon?
How many Pokémon do you currently have in your team?
Will you train or love this Pokémon?
Have you adopted recently? If so, how recent?
Do you understand that the nicknames are permanent?
Want us to update the pound? Bug Kath until she replies. Apparently having admins remind her isn't enough

Tyro walked into the Pokémon Pound, ready to adopt now that the Pokémon on his team had been reduced from five to four. Because of this, he now fit Granny Sabitha's rules for adoption. He had been in here once before, but just for a quick look to see if there were any Pokémon around that he might be interested in. And lo and behold, there was a familiar face among them.... A Metapod by the name of Tithonus. He knew that Metapod all too well...he had had Lan fight him twice...what was he doing here? At that time, the thought of his battle with a certain somebody popped into his head...and he nodded. He understood. That guy certainly didn't seem too pleased with him anyway.
Thinking about it like that, Tyro figured it was only logical that Tithonus ended up here. So, he had decided to see if he couldn't whip that little Metapod into shape.... Evolving him into a beautiful and powerful Pokémon like Butterfree was sure to make him better. He nodded to himself...but then he realized that he had one too many Pokémon in his party. So, he had to go dump one off somewhere.... Now that that was done, he was ready for adoption...as long as the Metapod was still there. And sure enough, there he was, still in the same spot he'd seen before. He looked around and found Sabitha.
"Hey, excuse me.... But I was wondering.... I saw that you only seem to have one Pokémon left.... And, well...I was wondering if I could adopt Tithonus over there? I'll pay whatever it costs." Though he already knew exactly how much this would cost, and it certainly wouldn't be too cheap, mind you, but he really wanted to adopt Tithonus. He had seen how his previous Trainer had treated him...and he wanted to make up for that by giving him a Trainer that he didn't have to be...or at least, SEEM to be, scared of. He wondered if that might bring out some sort of hidden potential in the Bug Pokémon.... Besides, having a Butterfree could really come in handy in future battles....
((...Whoops. xD I posted this from the front page without bothering to read what was behind it~ But I spent a while on this post and don't want to delete it, just in case.... So I'll leave it here, but add this little tidbit. Unless asked to delete it or something, o'course. xP))
It was then that he noticed another Trainer nearby.... How had he not seen that person there a moment ago? Oh well...he might have been too late to adopt Tithonus...but if that were the case, there wasn't much he could do about it. He just really hoped that he could grab him...he was definitely a special Pokemon, and he wanted to show the Metapod's previous trainer just how strong any Pokémon can be...regardless of who they are.

Granny Sabitha and Fluffy
Merrick was taking quite a long time to fill the form. Sabitha waited patiently, though still skeptical about him. She wasn't sure ho happy Amphitrite was. The poor poliwag seemed like it hadn't gotten much action, and she had just been left in a pokemon PC. Such a cruel life.
When the other trainer popped in, she readily handed over another form. She did not remember seeing Tyro before. Perhaps he would be better suited for Tithonus? She would hate for him to end up with a trainer that does not have the time for the metapod. The pokemon from the pound all needed special attention to coax them out of their fears.
The Form:
Which Pokémon do you want, and why do you want this particular Pokémon?
How many Pokémon do you currently have in your team?
Will you train or love this Pokémon?
Have you adopted recently? If so, how recent?
Do you understand that the nicknames are permanent?

Tyro nodded when the woman passed him the form that he was required to fill out. This was good...that meant that he still had a chance to pick this Pokemon up. He smiled a bit at the thought and glanced over at Tithonus.... He was going to get his hands on that Metapod...it would be very nice to give that Metapod a home that he knew about. He looked down at the form and took out the pen that he always carried around in his pocket...and he got to work. Which Pokémon do you want, and why do you want this particular Pokémon?
The Metapod Tithonus. I want this Pokemon because I had met this very Pokemon in a battle once before. I noticed how his Trainer treated him and now I found out that he has been abandoned. I want to take this Pokemon and give him a Trainer he doesn't have to be afraid of. I want to raise him to be as strong as he can be...and prove to his previous owner that every Pokemon has potential. Even those that look weak on the surface.
How many Pokémon do you currently have in your team? I have four Pokemon on my team: A Charmander, Lucario, Pikachu and a Sandile.
Will you train or love this Pokémon? Definitely. If I want to show this guy that every Pokemon has potential, then I'll have to do everything in my power to make sure he gets there.
Have you adopted recently? If so, how recent? No, I have never adopted before.
Do you understand that the nicknames are permanent? Yes, I do. And I don't mind in the slightest. It's just a name...and I actually like this one anyway.
Once his form was finished, he turned to Granny Sabitha again, stored the pen back in his pocket, and held it out to her. "Here you go." he said. "I hope that this will let me take custody of Tithonus. I won't ever let him down.... And I'll prove to him that he's not as weak as his last Trainer was telling him...."

Granny Sabitha and Fluffy
Sabitha took the form back and read over it, before placing it in a small filing cabinet. " I am sure he is anxious to find a new home," she said, before going 'round the back and gently allowing the Metapod to rest on her arms. She brought the Pokémon to the front and handed him to Tyro. " It'll be 1700PD for him," she said. " And I have his pokeball here, but I don't suggest you keep him there for long. The poor thing is terrified of being forgotten." The red and white sphere was placed onto the counter, and Tithonus seemed to instantly harden a bit. Name: Tithonus Level: 8.5 Gender: Male OT: Blitz Received At: Pokepound @ 8.5 Personality: claustrophobic, dislikes lightning and being stuck in one place at one time. Very weak also, and afraid of being left in the pokeball for too long. Ability: Shed Skin Moves: Tackle, String Shot, Harden Note: (money deducted) With the transaction done, Sabitha turned to Amphitrite, running a wrinkled hand on the water pokemon's head, before speaking to Merrick. "It seems this gentleman has more room in his heart to accept another pokemon. I am unsure if the same can be said to you. Please do not return here anymore."

Nick walked into the Pound as he could see all the abandoned pokemon. He didn't bother knocking because he had a feeling someone would already be inside nurturing the abandoned pokemon. Nick was yet to see anyone and felt a suspicious feeling run through him. He looked around and saw all the abandoned pokemon, but only one really caught his eye. It was a Growlithe.
Nick looked around as he walked over to it's little pen and looked at it. He then yelled out in a confident and calm voice,
"Hello is anyone here? I'd like to adopt this Growlithe here!"
He was trying to get whoever was inside's attention so he could adopt the pokemon. Nick could see as he observed it, it was quite ignorant. It was another pokemon that resembled his attitude. He was happy enough with that and knew that he could train this pokemon up to be very tough and make it become a Arcanine with lots of training.

Granny Sabitha Kids these days were so rude, Granny Sabitha thought. She opened her house to serve the Pokémon and the young budding trainers, and they trample around the area as if they owned it. Her old age has taught her how to keep her negative feelings in check, as she smiled at the trainer.
And then he yelled in the shop, making her wince just a bit. "Boy, I might be old, but I ain't deaf!" she called out. She knew Ember would be a Pokémon that wouldn't stay with her for long, but she was worried. If the trainer had taken any time to watch the fire type for more than a few seconds, he'd see that the growlithe was turning its back, clearly uninterested in having anyone tell her what to do, and certainly did not want to be trained. At all.
"Ember is a handful," she warned. A scorned Pokémon does not forgive easily. If this trainer thought he would be able to change her attitude quickly with a few praises and a pat on the head, he would sorely be mistaken. Sabitha did not know if the fire type would ever be useful in battle. That's what these trainers wanted, day in day out, wasn't it? Pushing their Pokémon into fights, even though they might not want to.
Regardless, she slipped a form toward the trainer.
The Form:
Which Pokémon do you want, and why do you want this particular Pokémon?
How many Pokémon do you currently have in your team?
Will you train or love this Pokémon?
Have you adopted recently? If so, how recent?
Do you understand that the nicknames are permanent?

Nick had met the owner of the place, she acted pretty hastily around Nick but he didn't care. He looked inside the pen and saw Growlithe, it ignored Nick and turned it's back to him. Then the lady said it was a handful of a pokemon, Nick could guess it wasn't to happy about being abandoned. But Nick couldn't put up with disobedient pokemon, so Growlithe didn't seem to be the pokemon he would adopt.
Nick looked at the lady and said as he handed the forms back to her,
"Don't worry about these, I don't think it's this Growlithe or my lucky day. So let's leave it at that."
Nick handed her the papers abruptly and headed for the door as he hoped he would get a pokemon that wasn't disobedient like the little Growlithe was. But for now he was off to continue on his journey to become the Pokemon Master.
