Granny Sabitha The Granny quickly smiled when she saw a new trainer come in and look for a pokemon to obtain. "Hi there. You entered the pokemon pound. Where you can adopt pokemon from us... Do you see any you like?" She asked as she had them all standing out and they all looked up simultaneously at Piper in hopes of being adopted. "There are a few rules that you must follow first!" Sabitha said as she pointed to the sign on the right. "But if you can do that... You'll be fine!" She smiled and waited for Piper to make her decision. "So, what would you like?"

An adoption center? Were the Pokemon here orphans? That was so sad... She would have been an orphan if not for her momma and poppa ordering her off the Internet. Her eyes ran over the place, resting on a few. She read the cards in front of them. A growlithe that hated females? That sounded sad. It was a fire type, like her. Maybe that would help soothe the process? "Ma'am. I understand that this growlithe hates females but, do you think since I'm a fire type too that would help a little?" The charizard wings on her back ruffled a little bit.

Granny Sabitha Sabitha frowned when once again, the trainer asked for the growlithe. It pained her that no one saw the other pokemon, less popular but just as strong and much more loving. She looked piper over, and though she did see that she was a pokemon morph, but she was still a girl. " You can try, but I have many other wonderful pokemon that would be much more obedient," she said. She approached the cage and Ember started to growl right away. She glanced at piper and did not change her stance, still very defensive and backing up, ready to snap at anyone that came close.

Apollo who, at present only had three members on his team, slowly made his way into the Pokemon Pound. he looked around at all of the various Pokemon that were in these cages.... He felt his heart tug at every single one of them. He wanted to pick them all up and carry them with him. Unfortunately, he knew he couldn't help all of them...but due to the rules of the facility, he could only choose one. He sighed at the thought, but decided that he needed to do SOMETHING while he was here. He looked around the cages yet again. So many Pokemon to choose from, and he had a hard time choosing one. He read all of their tags over carefully. By the time he had come around to the growling Growlithe again, another person seemed excited over her. Well, at least that was one Pokemon he didn't have to worry about.
In the end, shallow as it seems, he decided to just pick one that looked cool upon its evolution. To him, it was the only way to decide. He hated the thought of choosing in such a way, but it was the only method he could think of without being completely random...and he just couldn't leave such an important decision to mere chance. He looked around for the clerk, and eventually found the owner of the place. "Um...excuse me...." he said with a slight hesitation. The thought of him being forced to leave behind the other Pokemon he couldn't take still bothered him. But he knew this was the best he could do for them, so he went on. "...I-I was wondering if I could...er...go ahead and pick up that Rufflet from that cage over there...?" He gestured over to the cage that Damon was sitting in.

Granny Sabitha The Granny did not really like Apollo when she saw him enter the pound. Something about him irked her but she could not pick out what it was. But she didn't want to hold negative comments just yet, she'd wait and see what happened first. When she saw him walk away from the Growlithe though, she started to see something else in him... So this one avoided the Growlithe? Hm... That was something different and something she kind of liked. When he made his way over to Damon, she was curious to see how the bird would react to him. So far, the bird has not approved of anything he has run into yet. Maybe Apollo could be different? She waited and saw the interaction when he pointed to Damon. "Good choice. I'll get the pape-" She stopped because Damon quickly and violently tried to jab him from inside the cage. >Get back here you punk! I'll rough you up!< He said angrily. This surprised the Granny a bit and made her hold off on getting the paper works just yet. "Uh... I don't know if he likes you or not..." She said. Well, time to play it cool!

Apollo smiled a bit as the woman--Granny Sabitha was it?--started to responnd. The next thing he knew, he felt a sharp pain in the back of his hand. He let out a small yelp of pain and retracted his hand. He looked at it. The back of it had started to bleed from the bird's beak. Nothing serious...just a small scrape. Regardless, it still stung. He glanced back at the Rufflet and couldn't help but smile a bit. "H-heh...I guess...I'd have a lot of work ahead of me if I took this little guy.... But regardless of whether he likes me or not...I just feel like there's something I can do for him.... And from what I've seen, none of them are going to like me much anyway...." He couldn't help but smile a little bit. But still, his resolve didn't falter, even from this little twist. He wanted to help...SOMEBODY, and this one was probably the one for him.
Apollo turned around and crouched down next to the cage...a bit more wary this time. "...Hey, don't worry about a thing." he said with a slight smile. "...The Pokemon I have with me are great...I'm sure you can make friends in no time. And that might help with your little...aggressiveness issue." Perhaps he couldn't fix this little problem, and he was just talking the talk. Regardless, he at least wanted to try.

Granny Sabitha Apollo's soothing words did nothing for Damon who still had to prove that he was the alpha male in this situation, so he quickly gave the trainer a very mean leer before he attempted to break through his cage with his wing attack, but to no avail as it was much stronger than he was... This upset him a bit, but he still did not take his eyes off of Apollo as he wanted to rip him to shreds at the moment. Not literally but more that he wanted to scare the trainer into running away like a coward. It was what Damon did, he was insecure inside so he loved to pick on others to hide his own insecurities. Granny Sabitha was a bit tired of watching this occur so she decided to just go and get the sheet. If he was willing to try, even though Damon did not like him... Well, she wouldn't stand in the way of that. She left for a minute to get the sheet, but came back instantly without it in her hand. "Oh before I forget... Why do you want to have him again?" She asked. It seemed she wasn't satisfied with either of his two answers yet...

Apollo watched the Rufflet go, and he couldn't help but sigh a bit. He had spent enough time raising Pokemon and taking care of them that he was already well aware of his problem. He'd seen it at least twice while he had worked in his father's Gym. Unfortunately, his father had decided to just give up on them and deemed them untrainable. But he wasn't going to make that mistake. He wanted to help this poor little guy. When Granny Sabitha came back over, he stood up and turned back around to answer her question.
"W-well, you see...I couldn't really decide which one I wanted.... Just the sight of these guys and the thought of them being abandoned just because they were 'untrainable' in a way.... But...the more I watch this little guy...." He crouched down in front of the Rufflet's cage again. "...The more he reminds me of what I was unable to do back at the Gym. And I want to make up for my mistakes with this one." he was still bothered by the fact that he didn't have the talents needed to get to the Pokemon back at the Gym...but now that he had a little bit of Training experience, he figured he might be able to handle it this time...and he wanted to at least give it a try.

"If she's really set on not wanting a female trainer then it wouldn't really matter how much alike we were in type would it ma'am? I don't want to end up doing something that would make her even angrier... I do hope she finds a home though." her eyes scanned around the shop again, the water types making her shudder a little bit. There was a small grey Pokemon in the corner as well. It looked like a ghost to her... She carefully approached it, not wanting to startle him or cause trouble like the other guy was doing. "Hey there shuppet, let's see, it says here your name is Sasori, right? It's nice to meet you."

She looked at the two trainers and decided that the easiest way would be for them to just complete the form. Sasori, from inside the cage, seemed as gloom as ever, glancing over at the morph before sighing and looking away, knowing that it was really too good to be true. It would be like everyone else -- they all wanted that good for nothing growlithe, who wasn't even nice, and she would be all alone.
Damon wasn't listening to the trainer too, ruffling his feathers in order to appear larger. He wasn't going to just let anyone touch him. Sabitha, though, seemed rather keen on having someone take care of the two Pokémon. Sasori, especially, needed something who would be willing to show him love and patience.

Apollo reached out and accepted the form, looking down at it. He had recently just visited the Santa here at the mall...and he was sure he wasn't going to be doing that again. but the point was that...he got what he needed now. And he was more confident that he could help this little guy. He took out a pen and started to fill out the form. Which Pokémon do you want?
Damon, the Rufflet
Why do you want this particular Pokémon?
I want to really help this Pokémon with his problems. I've seen such Pokémon just like him when I worked in my father's Pokémon Gym, and I failed to help them. I want to make up for my mistakes and show this Pokémon how to live his life.
How many Pokémon do you currently have in your team?
Currently I only have three Pokémon.
Do you plan on training this Pokémon?
Yes, I definitely do. Not only do I think this will help him, but he could be an extremely useful asset to my team.
Do you have the time and commitment to love this Pokémon?
Yes. I have all the time in the world now. I'll spend as much time as I can with him.
Have you adopted recently? If so, when was your last visit?
No, I do not think so. Although, I do hope I can re-visit this place sometime in the near future....
Do you understand that the nicknames are permanent and cannot be changed?
Yes, I understand this, and I am perfectly happy with the nickname he has been given.
After he was finished, he handed the form back to Sabitha to end this and hopefully complete the transaction with payment. He couldn't wait to take this Pokémon along with him.

The old lady smiled kindly, snatching the form and reading it over. Her eyes weren't what they used to be, and she squinted to see the words. A smile crossed her face and she nodded. "Yes, yes this'll do. That'll be 1400 pd please," she said slowly.
"That is, IF you win his affection," her grin broadened as the bird rattled against the bars of his cage. He stuck his beak up at Apollo, stalking back and forth. It wasn't going to be an easy task.

Apollo heard what she said and smiled a bit. "W-well, I'm sorry ma'am, but...the affection of a Pokemon isn't something that can just be obtained right away.... Especially not a Pokemon like that.... It has to be built up over time, as the two of them make memories together. They steadily become friends, just like anybody else." He crouched down and took out a small, silver bell from his pocket. A Soothe Bell. He reached into the cage and tried to tie it around the Rufflet's neck. "...But I really want to befriend him if I can. Even if you don't let me take him...he can keep the Soothe Bell. It might help the next Trainer who comes to pick him up." He looked around him at the other Pokemon. Now, for some reason, this Pokemon was calling out to him more than the others...he felt like it was either this Rufflet or nothing.

Piper accepted the form, her handwriting wasn't the neatest but hopefully it would do. She looked up at the ghost Pokemon and smiled at him. Which Pokémon do you want?
Sasori, the Shuppet
Why do you want this particular Pokémon?
I want to be able to help him because he looks lonely! I don't think it's right for anyone to go through their life lonely.
How many Pokémon do you currently have in your team?
Two Pokemon. A caterpie and a teddiursa!
Do you plan on training this Pokémon?
Of course! Then again if he doesn't want to battle then we could always just be friends.
Do you have the time and commitment to love this Pokémon?
Of course I do! A trainer has to love and spend time with all of their Pokemon! That's what being a trainer is all about!
Have you adopted recently? If so, when was your last visit?
Nope! I'd never even heard of a place like this before.
Do you understand that the nicknames are permanent and cannot be changed?
Yup! I wouldn't want someone to change my name!
Handing the form to the woman she nervously bit her lip after hearing the other guys requirements. Would she have to try and make Sasori like her too? "I'm not a bad person Sasori... Please accept me as your trainer and as a friend."

Damon glared at the trainer and seemed rather suspicious as the soothe bell was presented to him. He pecked at it for a bit before finally accepting it, though he still didn't seem too friendly. The pokemon was debating whether or not this trainer was just going to abandon him again. But this bell, it had to mean something, right?
Sasori was going through a similar dilemma, wondering whether or not to trust the trainer. Maybe he would just... go with her, but be more careful this time. He wouldn't allow himself to fall for his trainer. He would keep his distance for now.
Granny Sabitha seemed satisfied with the response and took the pokemon out of the pen and into their pokeball. He handed them to the two trainers. It would be 1400PD from one, and 1600PD for the other one.

Scarlette moved in through the door, peeking at the pokemon. She had the form in her hand. However the only pokemon that really captured her attention was the Growlithe. However the little dog wasn't the nicest one, the others were probably more accepting of her. Either way, the red-haired girl grabbed the nearest pen she could find, scribbling down on the paper. Filling it out.
- Which Pokémon do you want, and why do you want this particular Pokémon?
-- The Growlithe, Ember. I would like her to stand by my side merely because she has the attitude that I would like to encounter. It is a lot like my own, and I wish to gentle it and in time make her one of the best coordinating companions on my team. I find potential in her to become something great, and I only found it in her. With Ember being a fire type I have plans indeed for her abilities during contests. I only hope she listens to me, even if she hates me.
- How many Pokémon do you currently have in your team?
-- I currently only have two. Riolu my partner, and the Skitty.
- Will you train or love this Pokémon?
-- I will train this pokemon without doubt. I will also love it to the best of my ability. Despite the hardships we may come through. We'll always come up on top, even if we started at the bottom. My way of training does not particularly give the vibe 'loving.' However deep down I will love Ember very much.
- Have you adopted recently? If so, how recent?
-- This is my first adoption, and probably my last.
- Do you understand that the nicknames are permanent?
-- Of course. I wouldn't want my name changed either. Ember suits her just fine.

Granny Sabitha Granny Sabitha saw the girl come in all prepared already. She had the form in hand and already filled it out with a pen, almost as if she printed it online or something (which Granny Sabitha did not even know could happen). She looked to be all business as she had an eye on the Growlithe which was the most popular of all of Granny's pokemon in the pokemon pound. Ember though, was also the one she was most cautious of. She could not just give it to anyone as it was too wild and too untamed. It had a tendency of attacking trainers which could be bad as Granny feared that at the wrong hands, the Growlithe might even end up getting beaten up for her actions. She could not simply give Scarlette the pokemon like that without first asking her some questions. So she stood there, arms crossed, and spoke to Scarlette. "I am glad you are interested in Ember but many others have come in with the same intention. And all have failed so far. What makes you think you are able to take care of her? And that you can tame her?" Granny asked. It seemed that her words must have struck somewhere as Ember quickly barked as she saw Scarlette come near. >Get away! I hate females! I hate trainers! I hate battling!< She growled as loud as she could... Boy, Scarlette has her work cut out for her.

it was apparent that the older woman sabitha wasn't about let scarlette have ember that easily. apparently it was the most popular one. that wasn't why scarlette had chosen her. in fact, scarlette had been tempted to go with the azurill. however she hadn't been certain just how creative the water pokemons attacks might be. the red-head tilted her head to the side, watching the little growlithe that appeared to be snarling angry words to her. however she didn't understand. and instead just looked up at sabitha's face. " i understand taming her might be something of a situation. however, my ways of training and discipline do not result in a beating. i may not like what she does. but i will never force her to do anything. " she took a moment to continue herself. " i understand that ember doesn't enjoy battling. being a coordinator does not necessarily end in battles. yes, she will be faced with formidable opponents. but if she had the ability to collect herself. she can be one of the showy, presentable Pokémon. riolu and skitty are more than capable of protecting her. in fact. ember is the only female that would be in my team so far. she would not be forced into battles as my boys would. they are more headstrong and battle-hungry than ember is. " she said, thinking through. scarlette bent down, setting a hand on the floor in front of the growlithe.
" despite what you may think of me. i chose you for a reason. you have potential. the fur that could catch attention. the attitude needed to snag the audience. i understand you're edgy. and more harsh around the female gender. i myself am a lot like you. i don't like people. but that doesn't stop me from achieving my goal. if you come with me. we have a better chance of winning. you don't want to be outwitted by an azurill, do you? her water moves might attract attention. but with a blaze of entertaining fire. people will be captivated. and like i said, ember. you don't necessarily have to fight. all i would like to see is effort. but if you don't want to train and become stronger.. " scarlette paused, a dark, determined look in her eyes. she stood up, taking the riolu's pokeball out of her bag. she clicked the button, letting out the fighting-type dog.
his ears perked at the sight of ember, and he looked at his master with a puzzled expression. his small hand reached up and snagged hers. emotions and thoughts flooded her mind as he spoke through her. < is she the one you deemed reliable in our team? >
scarlette's head nodded, and the riolu tightened his grip on her hand. < hmm.. > then he dropped his hand and moved closer to the little fire dog. his eyes narrowed at her more violent position. his hand reached out and touched her shoulder. < you know. i don't much enjoy scarlette either. but she says that i can win. i like winning. and the offer she is giving you in a once in a lifetime opportunity. she probably won't come back if you refuse. coordinating is an interesting system. the vibe i'm getting off you says you don't like to fight. that doesn't matter. i'll fight for you. i think you're interesting. an honorable opponent. the crowd.. would be thrilled. > then he lifted his hand, backing up and returning to his trainers side. his hand now touched her leg, and he watched the growlithe. " sabitha. i will not let her become any worse than she already is. riolu doesn't necessarily agree with me on things. we call it even and meet in the middle. i prefer to keep my hands off my Pokémon when in terms of argument. i treat Pokémon as my friends. partners. i'm not asking for ember, just because shes's a growlithe. i'm not here to be her bestfriend. i'm here because i think that she might be good in coordinator contests. not to make her love me. if you don't understand this. i'll leave. " scarlette backed up slightly, as if proving her point. she hadn't come in here just for a growlithe. her mind had been set on finding someone formidable for contests. the one two deemed worthy were the azurill. and the growlithe. but that didn't matter right now, it seemed.[/blockquote][/blockquote] <3 thankyou for the pining me on the growlithe. ;) it's what i wanted.

Granny Sabitha Granny Sabitha heard the long response of the girl and decided to give hr a shot. She looked to be genuine and she likely will take good care of the Growlithe. She also looked relatively new so Sabitha knew that Ember would have to be used as it would probably be up there with her other pokemon in levels, if not be the strongest in the team. She quickly returned Ember to her pokeball, after hearing a few barks from the Growlithe... Angry that this girl thought she could control her. And then she went up to Scarlette and handed the pokeball to the one with the long posts. "Take good care of her. And please don't abandon her. I will be watching you!" She said creepily and threateningly although it was most likely not true. With that, she collected her money to help support the daycare and it's missions. "Good luck!" she said as she waved goodbye. Name: Ember Level: 3 Gender: Female OT: Susan Received At: Pokepound @ 3 Personality: extremely disobedient, she hates following a trainer's instructions and would much rather avoid any fights. dislikes battles. dislikes women. Astrid entered the pound, eyes darting from oddity to oddity. She had never seen a shop like this. In fact the only pokémon she knew had all been hatched at the academy or wild ones fought to train, but this place was different. At once it was a place of sorrow and loss, but it was also a place of hope. Astrid liked hope. She was uncertain if she would find anything here that could accompany her, but it was certainly worth a try, especially if she could make someone happy.
The shop, or home as it seemingly doubled as, seemed to be rather quiet this day, and Astrid took her time to visit each pokemon she saw. At first she went to a goldeen, it was called Aoi she saw. A water type could easily come in handy, especially since her armour was not very easy to swim in, and she knew Goldeens and seakings could be quite powerful with their horns. The Goldeen however didn't particularly seem to like Astrid however, and as she tried to lower her hand to greet it, it looked as if it was almost ready to attack her. This wouldn't do, this pokémon was as likely to attack her or someone she tried to protect as it was the enemy, Astrid shook her head and moved on. The next was a Lunatone, a pokémon that possessed psychic powers she knew. It was levitating idly, but as she neared it too seemed almost ready to lash out at her, it was unnerving just how distrustful these pokemon were, it saddened Astrid greatly, but she didn't show it. Once again the paladin-to-be shook her head and moved on. She saw a Poliwag and was once again reminded that she did poorly in water. Unfortunately this pokémon seemed to hate humans even more and immediately shot bubbles after her. Astrid felt her heart sink. She had known that these pokémon would probably be affected by their abandonment, but it seemed that she had underestimated just how harsh they had taken it. She turned and faced a Meowth. It seemed absolutely uninterested in her, it wouldn't even lift it's head when she tried to touch it, and Astrid gave up. The pokémon here saddened her, especially since she knew that with the proper effort she could probably give them a much better life, but it would be too dangerous for her to have a partner she did not trust in the field.
She turned to leave, but stopped as she heard a sobbing sound. Just besides her was a little blue and white Cubchoo, sniffling as it looked at her with big dark eyes. Astrid was paralyzed. The sheer cuteness of the pokémon had shocked her, and she couldn't help to try and approach it. She held her hand out, letting the pokemon sniff it to get used to her scent. At first the Ursine pokémon seemed wary, but unlike the others it didn't seem as if it was going to lash out at her. For a few seconds nothing happened, then suddenly the seemingly insecure cu attached itself to her arm, clinging like it never wanted to let go again. Astrid was overwhelmed, all she could do was to gently stroke the pokemon as she stared towards the owner. She tried to shift the Cub so that it didn't weigh so much at her arm, but it let out a heartbreaking cry that brought tears to her eyes. This was simply so sad, and yet, Astrid could not bring herself to force the Cubchoo to let go. Gently holding it she considered her options. The pokémon was clearly not very confident, but somehow that mattered very little to her, it had already snuck it's way into her heart.
Rationalizing her decision, Astrid mused that an Ice type would be particularly useful should she ever encounter a powerful dragon type, and even though it cost all her money, it would surely be a good deal in the long run. Wiping the moisture out of her eyes, the girl went to the counter. "This one" she pleaded "Please let me adopt this one?"
