There wasn't much to say. He'd taken his Kecleon and left, waving goodbye at the rangers in mock sincerity. He was pleased with his first pokemon, although he would have liked an electric Pokémon.
Why did Zane like electric Pokémon so much?
His parents had taught him how to withstand massive amounts of pain and torture. They'd done this by tying him to a generator. He'd felt the shocks run through his body so often, he'd begun wondering how it would be to control them. To use them to attack and defend himself, to harness this power that had so often had him in such terrible agony.
He shook this thought from his head, and released his new "friend." "Your name is going to be Creed. Hey." His tone was bored and listless, and they walked along the route in silence. The kecleon glanced over at him, but all traces of the carefree lad at the ranger station had gone. It saw no emotion in his dark eyes. The white-haired boy was deep in thought.

A humming could be heard near Route One as Zane walked. An odd purple creature was moving through the tall grass and could only be assumed to be the source of the humming. As the pokemon slithered out onto the path it's figure became much more pronounced. It was an Ekans.
It's snake slit yellow eyes turned to see Zane coming up on the road, it's tongue slipping from it's mouth, issuing a 'hisss' noise that had a strange musical atmosphere to it. <Good day ssssssir and.... Thing.>
The Ekans greeted to the trainer and the pokemon next to the human. Maybe this pokemon just liked singing though since it sounded like it sang it.

The miniature assassin was shaken from his stupor by a hissing, humming noise. He watched in silence, eyes wide, as an ekans wiggled its way up the road, not paying them any mind. It was probably just his imagination, but it seemed to hiss a greeting to his pokemon as it went past them. <Good day ssssssir and.... Thing.>
<Thing!?> Creed growled. <I'll make you regret that!> The kecleon advanced on the singing ekans.

Ekans made no move to dodge the coming Kecleon, wondering what the odd lizard was about to do to him. <Yessss. Unlesssss your kindd hasssss a namee?> Singsonged the serpent, angling his head to look up at the Kecleon that was near him. He looked toward the trainer as well, scanning the grey-haired boy with a flickering tongue. He believed it was rather rude of him not to return the greeting, but oh well. At least he hadn't immediately sent his pokemon to battle with him, like many other immature humans.

<Yessss. Unlesssss your kindd hasssss a namee?> The purple snake said in a sing-songy voice. Creed tilted her head, stopping in her tracks. Was it not meant as an insult? She was confused. <I'm, um... I'm a kecleon.> Were kecleon so rare that this pokemon could not know what they were? <Er... so you like singing?> She wasn't normally this nice, but the ekans didn't seem to want to bother her, and that... confused her.
Zane watched the pokemon with something like numbed surprise in his eyes. He'd had plenty of pokemon at his old home, his mansion... His father's houndoom, for instance, capable of tracking down and killing any prey he sent them after. And the guard dog, their arcanine, who killed anyone who set foot inside the gates, unless they were a family member. But they'd never seemed so... human.

The snake nodded his head respectfully. <A kecleon, issss ittt? I've never ssssssseeen your kind before.> He hissed. At the question of if he liked singing, he tilted his head a little. <Yes, of courssssse. Every sssssentenccccce ssssshould be ssssssang, don't you agree?> Sang the Ekans, arching his head to look up at the Kecleon.
The snake began to turn and slither away. <Well, unlesssss you two want ssssomething, I'll be going now...> He called, body rippling across the sand.

<Yes, of courssssse. Every sssssentenccccce ssssshould be ssssssang, don't you agree?> The snake replied, looking at her. She felt uncomfortable. She didn't have a lot of experience with music. <Errr... yeah.> She didn't know what else to say, so the snake began to leave.
Zane snapped out of it again. "Hey, wait! Creed, battle it!" He ordered, surprising the young kecleon. She didn't really want to battle it, but it was her trainer's orders.
<Wait, wait! Please battle me!>

The snake's body stiffened at the word 'battle' as it was uttered from the trainer's mouth. He turned to look at the Kecleon even before he repeated the word, eyes locked on his newfound opponent. <Let's go, then. I haven't had a battle in weeks.> Hissed the snake, raising his head to look more intimidating. His eyes narrowed as he mentally prepared himself for battle.
He decided to start off the fight, launching himself at the lizard and attempting to wrap his body around him to squeeze out his very consciousness. Strong muscles propelled the snake through the sand as he advanced towards his foe.

Zane took a step back when the path suddenly became the battlefield for the two Pokémon. The poison type launched itself at his kecleon, wrapping its lithe body around her. She cried out in shock and pain, and for a second, the young trainer's eyes glazed over. His fingers itched to kill the snake himself, but he knew that wasn't the way to go. You can't just go around killing things. He scolded himself, going back to normal. That's not... normal. Finally, he uttered a command. "Use Scratch." He plopped himself down on the dusty road, watching.
Creed aimed her claws at the snake's face.

The downside to using wrap was the vulnerability it gave to whoever managed to use it on their victim - in this case, ekans. The serpent attempted to whip her face away from the Kecleon's coming claws, but was unable to dodge the whole of it. The sensation of the scythes raking across the side of her neck area burned, making him hiss in pain.
Determination caused the Ekans to squeeze the Kecleon even harder, his muscles bunching up and growing as the snake flexed them around the lizard. He was dead-set on winning this battle. It'd be easy - he'd won many before.

"Alright, fine." The boy sounded more bored than anything. "See if you can use Tail Whip." The kecleon obliged him, moving what little of its tail it could, lowering the snake's defenses. "Now Lick." The chameleon stretched its tongue out and dragged it across the venomous pokemon's face, hoping to paralyze it into letting her go.

{{ooc/ uh like. that was a little bit god-modey. make sure you don't control if ekans dodges or not next time }}
Ekans barely saw the lizard's tail, but it was showing just enough to pass its effects to him, and he lowered his strength a little bit. The snake allowed the lick to connect with his flesh but was amused rather than stunned at the lizard's action. He choose to continue squeezing the Kecleon, the muscles throughout his body clinging onto his victim.

[adjbhasbdhfb aaagh i'm sorry i didn't even notice that]
Zane gritted his teeth. Letting other people do the work for you was so dull! This kecleon obviously had no experience in the field of battle, and was slowly losing health to the wrap attack. How embarrassing it would be to lose his first battle! "Creed, use Scratch again. And don't fail this time." Although the attack had hit, in the trainer's eyes it had been a failure.
Creed nodded in pain and once again let her claws fly at her opponent.

{{ooc/ no problem <3 }}
Ekans gave a shrill hiss as the claws raked across his face. The scratch had gone deep, doing critical damage and possibly injuring one of the snake's eyes. . Glaring sourly at Creed through his now scarred face, the snake gave a deep, long hiss of rage. Eyes leered at the lizard for a few more moments as the snake caught his breath, then he came slithering back towards the charmeleon with another Wrap in mind. Bunching his muscles, he attempted to slide them around his opponent once more.

The ekans prepared itself for another attack. Zane twitched as Creed made no move to escape. "Get out of the way!" He snapped. The young pokemon stood up straight, as if her trainer's call had brought her back to the present, and she dove aside. "Tail Whip then Bind!" While Bind wasn't a powerful move, Creed needed more practice. Dragging the battle out would hurt, but inevitably be worth it.
The kecleon wagged her tail cutely, attempting to draw the ekans's attention. Then she uncurled it and reached out, trying to wrap it around the snake, giving it a taste of its own medicine. Bind doesn't last as long as Wrap. It will give us time to pull out and avoid damage. The boy reflected.

The kecleon's tail squeezed the snake almost awkwardly, the purple pokemon's thin body making it not as effective as it could have been. Ekans could still wriggle around a bit and quickly seized the opportunity -- just as his own wrap made him vulnerable, there was no reason why this constricting attack would be any different. The pokemon opened his mouth wide, showing off her pearly fangs that now dripped venom from them. Before the other pokemon could get away, she attacked, aiming a nasty poison sting at the green chameleon's side.

He wasn't very good at this.
The thought enraged him even further. What he would do to just wrap his hands around its thin neck and snap it... But he couldn't. Instead, he kept going with his idea. The poison hit the kecleon, who winced in pain but held fast. She felt a change going over her body. "Now you're the poison type. Don't let any more attacks hit you. Tail Whip then another Scratch attack." Feeling a little more confident, Creed released the snake and instead attacked with her claws.

Ekans (Defense -3) Hit by Scratch Is WeakeningUses Poison Sting
The Ekans hissed in disgust as the adorable Tail Whip caught her off guard, not enjoying being tricked so often by this...this...aww, she forgot its name. It probably was not even worth remembering anyways, especially if this was the last time she would ever see it. As those sharp claws raked against her body, she only saw her opponent's fierce, concentrated look.
It was probably a good time to take notes now. Trying to copy that same determination, she gathered up many poisonous stingers in her mouth. Then, shooting them out one by one like bullets at fast speeds, she aimed right for the Kecleon's red stripe.
It seemed like a good enough target, since it was on the 'normal' type's belly. Even if she missed the bulls-eye, there was always the chance it would hit near it, and that was good enough for her.

Finally, they were getting somewhere. But not without taking damage first. He saw the attack coming and hissed, "Dodge!" Fortunately Creed saw it as well and danced out of the way, her ego boosting once again from the successful evasion. "Keep using Scratch." He ordered, and the Kecleon jumped forward once again, putting more vigor into her steps.

Arceus be damned this one was a slippery specimen, and before Ekans knew it, the chameleon like Pokemon's claws had sunk into her luxurious purple scales, making her hiss and writhe in an attempt to escape. Slithering back, she prepared another batch of needles and opened her mouth to let them loose at the Kecleon, wanting to crush the irritating Pokemon's confidence, which was clearly growing by the second. But before she could even do that, she began to feel woozy, and inexplicably sleepy. It seemed that all the punctures from the scratches and choking from the Kecleon's tail had emulated and overwhelmed the serpent's desire to battle. She could barely even move. Falling to the ground, the Ekans hissed at the Kecleon. "Jusssst great. Besssted by an arrogant basssssstard." With that, her head hit the ground, all the needles she had gathered in her maw for another Poison Sting falling uselessly to the ground of La Premiere Route. ::ekans:: Ekans has fainted, Creed gains a level.
