Great. Not only had she come across some odd little star-shaped puff pokémon, but it was cracked in the head too. Just her damn luck. She wanted strong pokémon. Not mentally retarded pokémon.
Ayra seemed to be thinking the same thing as she surveyed the Clefairy with something bordering on what could only be described as a 'what the hell?' expression, head tilted to one side.
<Um... Clefairy...> she said, clearing her throat. <Look at my Trainer. She has lots of those 'seeds'.> If it was up to her, she'd get out of this without getting into a battle. After all, she still felt a bit sore from the battle against Miasma earlier.
Nova eyed her Pidgey suspiciously. What was the bird doing? Had it lost it's mind too. She said nothing, merely watched the two pokémon with a blank expression whilst her mind ran through the various insults she could think of for the bizarre pink pokémon addressing Ayra.

<She has seeds?> The Clefairy perked up at the word, and while clutching the smooth red and white one in her hand, lo and behold, there were several attached around the humans waist. They glittered like moon rocks, which visibly impressed the Clefairy. Her smile brightened so her sharp, vampire like teeth showed themselves to the duo.
<How special. How very very special. I believe I would like to ask where you found them. It would be so lovely as to grow an orchard of them.> She explained, rubbing the Pokeball affectionately against the soft corner of her face. Suddenly, it expanded in her touch. Surprised, she immediately dropped the sphere to the ground, as if afraid that it was going to eat her.
<Eeep! It's alive!> She cried, hiding behind the much smaller Pidgey for protection. Although Nova didn't have a friendly look on her face, she felt safe enough with the Pidgey around.

As the Clefairy hid behind Ayra, the bird pokémon spread her wings for a moment, shielding the fairy pokémon from what it thought was a threat. After a short while, the pidgey relaxed her stance and moved towards the ball, nudging it with her beak against the button, shrinking it again.
<It's nothing to fear. It's not a seed. We call them 'Pokéballs'. Trainers use them to capture wild pokémon. Most of my Trainer's are empty except for two. Miasma and mine. Nova there is searching for pokémon who are strong like me.> The pidgey fluffed up her chest feathers, spreading her wings again in what she thought was an impressive display of her tiny body. Nova gave a small nod of approval.
<Some trainer probably lost this along the way.> The bird continued. <Don't worry. It's not going to hurt you. They're actually really cozy inside.>

The Clefairy was grateful to have something to hide behind, after the encounter with the living seed-thing. She couldn't believe that, seconds ago, she'd been planning to grow an orchard full of them! Did they always react like that to such great news? Didn't they want their race to expand and grow? Frightening as her experience had been, the little Clefairy was still curious, and so she peaked around the Pidgey's wing and eyed the seedling with nervous curiosity.
Her dream of an orchard full of scrumptious berries was crushed, however, by the words of the Pidgey. <Y-You mean they... they swallow Pokemon?> she said fearfully. <Oh dear!> And not too long ago, she'd come so close to almost being gobbled up herself! The fairy Pokemon backed up a few paces, wondering whether it still had the ability to suck her up.
She blinked slightly. <Are you really strong, then?> She was curious, after all. The seed... erm, what had the Pidgey called it? Something ball... pocket ball? No, that wasn't quite right... it was something like that, anyways. The Pidgey then assured her that the Pocket-Ball seed-thing wasn't going to hurt her, and she glanced at it, watching it carefully. It certainly didn't seem like it was doing anything, now. It had shrank back to normal size, anyways... She wandered over and gave it a soft nudge. Nothing. She didn't get swallowed, or sucked up, or whatever it had tried to do to her before.
Deciding she could trust the Pidgey, she nodded.

<In a very loose sense of the word, yes. Pokéballs swallow us. But it's not a bad thing. Pokéball's are cosy. Kind of like... a house.> Ayra flew over to Nova and pointed at the pokéball she had been caught with earlier and then at the ground. Nova, getting what Pidgey wanted, unclipped the capsule from her belt and set it on the dirt.
Ayra landed beside it and confidently pecked at the tiny button. <It's perfectly safe. Watch.>
The ball sucked her in and Ayra waited for a good few moments. Nova touched the ball gently and the little Pidgey flew from it completely unharmed. Resting down on the ground beside the Clefairy, she spoke again.
<See? It's nothing to be worried or scared about.> Ayra then addressed the pokémon's question. <Yes. I'm strong.> She said proudly. <I battled my Trainer's Stunky and although I was defeated, I proved myself worthy enough of joining my Trainer. That's what Trainers do, after all. They search for us strong pokémon and help make us stronger so we can defend ourselves.>
Nova still said nothing, but merely watched her Pidgey and the Clefairy curiously.

The Clefairy seemed almost jumped for joy. More strength meant she could take more berry seeds around to plant when she found them, and the Pidgey here looked rather strong. There was an even stronger Pokémon... Stunky or something like that.
Looking at the Pokeball again, she put her tiny fingers on her chin and walked around the Pokeball, almost as though checking it for seeds... or explosives. After a few moments, she smiled brightly, nodded fervently, and turned to Ayra.
<Alright then! I'm happy to join you! ...If you'll have me that is.> The Clefairy's hands rubbed together anxiously as it stared at Seraphyna and Ayra with big black eyes. It tapped the Pokeball, then squeaked as it was sucked into the Pokeball in a flash of red light, before bursting out a few moments later. <Oh my...> She stroked her soft pink ears. < OK. I'm ready this time.>

Ayra patted the little fairy pokémon gently on the back with her wing. <It's okay. I'll protect you.> The pidgey was a passionate and loyal little bird. She was also fierce and protective. <I promise.> Once she made a promise, she stuck to it until the very end! And now that she had made such a promise to this Clefairy... well, it would be cowardice not to see it through.
Nova wasn't used to events being outside of her control, and yet she stood and watched the Clefairy conversing with her Ayra with a calm expression. It seemed her Pidgey was far more than she had first realised. A proud smile quirked the very corners of her mouth.
Ayra fluffed up her breast feathers in a proud display of the soft plummage. She was strong and both she and the Clefairy knew it. Patting the Clefairy again, she stood close by, sentinel, protecting pink, star-shaped pokémon.

Clefairy walked beside the Pidgey and bowed slowly, her pointy ears touching the dusty ground before she stood up straight and looked at Seraphyna, her big black eyes scrutinizing her quietly, tiny padded hands clasped together in silent awe as she spoke to her.
> I would like to go with you, if that's OK> she said softly. Her eyes were still and resolute. She had never thought that when she went out to forge for food today, she would come across someone that would take her into new lands, unknown places to those in this Route. But here she was.

Such an odd little pokémon, Nova thought to herself as she continued to watch the Clefairy with increasing curiosity. It had seemed so ... cracked at first, yet the more she observed it, the more she came to appreciate it. Despite being pink and fairy-like, there was no denying that these pokémon were usually quite sought after. If she was able to acquire one, train it and bring it out of it's shell, unlocking it's full strength in the process... she would become the most feared Trainer ever, surely?
The little puff-ball seemed to want to go with Nova and her team anyway, so there wasn't much else she needed to do.
Ayra nudged the pokéball the Clefairy had been holding towards Nova would plucked it carefully from the ground and knelt before the Clefairy.
<If you come with us, Nova will take care of you and train you along with me and our other friends. We'll become the strongest pokémon ever known and show all the other Trainers not to underestimate us because we're small!> Ayra said with a defiant little glint in her eye. <If you're sure you want to come with us... touch that little button to make it official.>
Nova held the ball before the pokémon. It had been the Clefairy's find, after all, so it seemed only fitting that it made that particular ball it's home if it decided it did want to become a member of her team.

As the ball settled in her hand, that tiny ping telling her that Clefairy wasn't coming back out, Nova shrunk it and clipped it to her belt. "Cosmos."
It had a star shaped body, after all, so it fit in some way. She didn't care.
Ayra crossed her wings and gave her trainer what could only be a gloating, smug glance. <Not bad, eh?>
Nova had to admit. She was impressed. Ayra had secured that capture of the ditzy Clefairy without even getting into a battle with it.
"You're more deceptive than you seem..." she mused, holding out her arm to the tiny bird. Ayra flittered over and rested on it, peering at Nova with her head half cocked. "There's certainly more to you than meets the eye, that's for sure."
<Why, thankyou.> She gave the Trainer an odd little bow before leaping from her perch and into the air. <Which way now?>
Nova glanced around. "Let's have a look that way," she said, pointing in the direction opposite to the one they had come. Ayra flew ahead a little way, her beady eyes alert for any movement.

A bright light quickly illuminated from the depths of the forest, attracting some of the wild Pokémon to the area. It was as if they were drawn by it, eager to see what was causing such a distraction. As several of the wild bird Pokémon flew it to examine the source, it eventually became too bright and ended up scaring them off. In the midst of this unusual occurrence, a young man's voice started shouting in protest. "Hey, hey! That's too much! God, can't find anything with that much light." A sharp cry echoed out, and from the depths of the foliage a human was seen trying to rub the bright light out of his eyes. It was almost as if he had stared right at a camera flash, and now he was seeing the strangest psychedelic things. The blonde teenager turned to glance at his Chinchou, which was happily perched on a dead log, testing out his powerful light orbs. They could range to a variety of degrees, but nothing nearly as powerful as a Flash attack. Still, it was enough to temporarily stun his human's sensitive eyes. His contentment bugged the new trainer, but he couldn't actually scold the Pokemon, because he was the one that told him to make the light brighter. "Shoot. I know I dropped something..." He grumbled, getting back off of the ground to get a better view of his surroundings. Nope, that shiny Primier Ball he dropped was no where in sight. He really liked the color of that thing too, which made it such a shame to lose.

Something rolled towards Nova as she walked along the Route, following the pidgey. She stopped it with her foot before bending to pick it up. Huh? A ball? Was there another crackpot pokémon wandering around, trying to plant balls?
Ayra, however, was more interested in a strange light she'd seen out the corner of her eye. She flew off at a speed that Nova had to run to keep up with. "Oi, where are you going?" the trainer asked the bird.
<I saw something...> the bird responded, coming to a halt when she saw the blonde haired boy ahead. Putting two and two together, Nova tossed the ball at the boy's head. Some might see her giving it back as an act of kindness; she just wanted it to klonk the dumbass in the temple.

”What the hell?” The boy’s sharp cry frightened his normally chill Chinchou, and in a state of panic and worry the water type turned right towards his trainer, wondering what kind of life and death situation he was in. Instead, he was rubbing his head with a pained wince; the Primier Ball he was looking for was resting innocently on the ground right next to him. The trainer, feeling a bit slow, looked up at the sky to see if it had possibly fallen from one of the branches. No, he didn’t know how the hell it would’ve gotten up on a tree branch, but it was his only explanation. <Oh?> Michi chuckled, feeling a bit shy once he realized what really happened. There were two other strangers nearby, shutting him up in a flash so as not to act as stupid as his trainer. Though ok, technically the girl was just being a bitch, but his trainer could be more graceful. The Chinchou took notice of the Pidgey that was attracted to its lights, and dimmed down the power so it was only a faint glow. Nothing to affect anybody’s brain, or eye sockets now. ”Oy.” Susumu followed Michi’s gaze to Nova, and seeing her stance, one that looked as if something was thrown professionally, he put to and two together. Glaring at her with the ball in his hand, still sitting down on the ground, he grunted. ”Did you get lost on your way to the insanity ward, lady?” He inwardly rolled his eyes, not able to think of any appropriate insults. If he had a better idea of what was going on, then maybe. ::chinchou:: Yay. Got the Primier Ball Back! -Cue Zelda Music-

It was a satisfying sound; ball meeting head. Nova gave a small smirk at his comment before stepping a bit closer. The insanity ward? Oh no, lovely. Do they really keep people like me locked up in a padded white room? No no no." She surveyed the blonde for a moment before allowing herself to admit that whilst he was a dumbass (afterall, what sort of person loses a ball?), he was also kinda cute. She wouldn't tell him that, of course.
"You should be more careful about where you place your balls, though, dear," she said without a hint of a smile, face serious despite the smirk that tugged at her internally. It wasn't often that one could make such comments, now, was it?
Ayra fluttered closer to the Chinchou, intrigued by the water pokémon that could create light. <I don't see many of your kind around every day,> she mused to the electric fish. <I assume this is your human?>

Susumu quietly groaned in annoyance when he realized that the purple statue of liberty was approaching him, which meant that he should probably stand up so she wouldn’t be looking down on him more than she already was. Getting up with the Primier Ball held tightly in his hand, he scoffed at her comment. ”I wouldn’t know. I don’t usually meet violent women.” He casually reached out to rub his stinging injury, which was slowly dissipating as he was becoming more distracted. He really wasn’t sure about this girl; she looked like she could kick his ass if she wanted to, and being older than him didn’t help him out much. God damn, when was he going to get that next growth spurt?! He only duly noted the Pidgey that accompanied her in the background, and quietly assumed that she was a Pokemon Trainer like himself. Well, it was the easiest thing to assume. He didn’t have much luck seeing actual people out here, but he heard that trainers flocked around here like flies. ”My balls are nice and safe. I ended up getting this one back, didn’t I?” He asked, not able to contain his smirk from the somehow implied dirty comment. He showed off its unusual white sparkle before slipping it back into his pockets, not finding any use for it for the time being. ”So, you’re a trainer too, huh? Any good?” He felt as if he should try and maintain a cool and calm attitude, but he was coming off as an ignorant punk. He only realized that after he said it the way he did though, regretting it a little. ’My kind…? Yeah, I-I guess that is strange.’ The Chinchou thought, even though he recalled living on this route since the day he hatched from an egg. He wasn’t entirely sure about what happened, but now that the Pidgey mentioned it, it was kind of odd. Why was that, anyways? <Ah…oh, yes.> Michi zoned off a little in his thoughts, just registering the question with a shy, humble tone. <She looks like a tough trainer to be with.> Michi managed to comment, despite his unwillingness to speak. Since the bird was there, it seemed awfully rude to ignore her. Besides, he was wondering how any Pokemon could cope with such a personality. He was kind of lucky to know a nice guy like Susumu, he supposed. ::chinchou:: Derps.

Nova gave a half smirk. Violent? Oh he didn't know the half of it. She resisted the urge to ruffle his hair as though he was a child, holding her arm out for Ayra to land softly upon. "Oh darlin', if only you knew," she stroked the pidgey's feathers gently, musing for a moment. "Any good?" Nova was still pretty fresh to this whole deal so she would have to be careful how she worded her reply. "Depends on how you define good, sweetheart. New, yes. However, I'm only as good as my pokémon." Ayra swelled with pride, fluffing up her breast feathers as though responding to the Chinchou's earlier comment.
"They define how strong I am. Without them, I am not a trainer and therefore, no good."
She quirked her eyebrow. "Once my pokémon gain strength, then... I shall be the strongest trainer to have walked this route."
Arrogance. Nova had it in abundance. She didn't care. She had complete faith in not only herself, but the pokémon she now carried with her.

"Oh darlin', if only you knew"Susumu shivered as she said this, not enjoying the implications behind those words. His teenage mind wanted to interpret everything she said as sexual, but his sanity quickly tuned him back to reality. 'Serious. What the hell, Shamu?' He thought with an indignant snort, only half listening to what she was saying. "I guess that's one way to think of it." He replied, giving the statement some thought as he rubbed his chin. From what he figured, you were an awful trainer if your Pokémon couldn't do anything. It was far from the Pokemon's fault, in the cases he saw at least. "Still, you sound like every other trainer I've met around here." The kid laughed with a wise, knowing smile. He had been pretty stupid like that, and now he was here for over a year, still preparing for that first Gym. It was true, he had gotten some new members on the team that kept him pretty busy, but ultimately it was his fault for slacking. "They've been saying that a trainer with a Charizard has been going around. I'd be careful before making that claim, myself." He admitted, having heard from many panicked trainers in the Pokémon Center about their 'stolen Pokemon'. What a bother. Michi felt no need to go to his trainer, choosing to sit on the log while he watched with indifferent looks. ::chinchou::

Seamus was starting to tune out of what Nova was saying, never one for remembering long speeches that were full of meaning. She was an intimidating one though, and he already figured that she was the type that liked to hear herself talk. Great. His ears were already getting overwhelmed with her feminine voice as his eyes seemed to constantly glance at the Pidgey that circled around them. Seeing that the bird wasn't going to pull anything funny, his attention was directed back to Nova who had just walked right up to him, rubbing a soft finger against his face. He quickly flushed with a red color, freckles becoming hidden away and he inwardly cursed when he felt his temperature rise from the embarrassment. 'What...what does she mean by that?' His mind was racing as his mouth cracked open, as if trying to find a word to counter what she said. Women, dude. They were freaking confusing. He somehow backed away, his arm covering half of his face as he pretended to clear his throat. "Um. Uh. Right." He stammered, still completely, and utterly at a loss for words. ooc: Nova is totally the dominant one here. HAVE FUN GIRLIE.
