This is all fun and games to me!> she flew towards Hoothoot again, aiming a rough tackle as he tried to flee. The pidgey really had no interest, nor did she care, about what was actually going on here. She just liked to show off.
There was something to be said for the little nidoran. She sure seemed determined and that was the sort of thing Nova admired. Determination, steel... nerve. Yes, she valued them all highly and in this nidoran, she saw many of these qualities.
Looking to the Hoothoot she felt something quite foreign. Pity.
Nova wasn't usually one to pity others, but the double team on this round bird stirred some deep inside her. Here it was, two strong, female pokémon looming over it, attacking relentlessly. She would possibly attempt to capture it if it fainted, perhaps. She would decide when and if that happened.
Instead, she watching the nidoran carefully. If it made a move to assault her Ayra, she would have to react in kind... |

Nidoran was still a little cautious about the Pidgey, but if the bird was attacking her fellow avian for herself... why wouldn't she take out the weak mouse fighting for it first? Yes. She meant well. Nidoran knew it now. In fact... this owl was supposed to be brought back alive, right? Well, she would never make it back alive. Perhaps... perhaps this was a sign. A trained Pokemon helping a wild Pokemon. Time for a change, perhaps? Lunging towards the Hoothoot with a Scratch, she made contact at the same time as the Pidgey did with his Tackle. Chocolate and cream feathers scattered as blood flew from the fresh wounds, splattering on the grass and the dusty ground, while the blunt force strike of the Tackle attack sent him skidding back. Breathing heavily as he shook his head to clear his vision, he looked between the Pidgey and the Nidoran. There was no escape. He ahd to fight. Fight for his life and his freedom. There was no mercy in the wild. Forcing himself to his feet, he shot through the air, trying to Tackle the Pidgey who had interfered. ::hoothoot:: Hoothoot uses Tackle on Pidgey.
::nidoranf:: Nidoran uses Scratch on Hoothoot. [/B]

How did he still have the strength?! She retaliated as she tried to refill her lungs with air, charging her attack straight towards his flank. Stupid, fat, bird!
<Oh please, it'll take more than that!> she muttered, despite knowing that too many more of them and she'd have to take a rest. After all, there was only so much anyone could take!
Nova pouted lightly, arms crossed. How dare the damn bird hit her Ayra? She was fast becoming Nova's powerhouse and the trainer wasn't going to let her beloved Pidgey get beaten on. However, Ayra had countered without Nova's command, so she let it be for the moment... |

As the Gust buffeted the Hoothoot's small, plump form, sending him stumbling back with a cry of pain to land n his rear, the Nidoran was deep in thought about her own problems. All her life she had served Auntie Owlie, ever since the Noctowl had saved her from the burrow where her parents had abandoned her, since she couldn't sustain herself in the wild. Auntie Owlie had saved her life, and Nidoran had felt such gratitude for that... that she'd agreed to do a job for Auntie Owlie from time to time. And here she was now, in the cold, wet winter environment of La Premiere Route, trying to catch this fat freak for what? Food? A place to sleep? The approval of a Noctowl? She was so sick of it. If Auntie Owlie had lifelong friends, they were hers too. If she had lifelong enemies? They were lifelong enemies to Nidoran too. She was nothing more than a reflection. An echo. Who worked for nothing. Snapped out of her stupor by the Hoothoot attempting to stand up, she launched a Scratch at his feathered form, ripping through feathers and breaking skin so that blood pooled around the wound. Hoothoot began to panic as he saw the alarming amount of blood and feathers splashed around the snow. He was... he was being treated just like one of Auntie Owlie enemies. A cooing Growl escaped from his throat as he forced himself to fly towards the Pidgey in a Tackle once again. >Just stay down,< hissed Nidoran hatefully. Nidoran used Scratch on Hoothoot.Slightly weakened. Hoothoot used Growl and Tackle on Ayra.

Ayra flew upwards, out of reach of the Hoothoot's attacks, a small drop of gratitude splashing somewhere deep inside for the command of her trainer. If she had still been wild, chances are she would have taken both the growl and the tackle and found herself at a sure disadvantage.
Nova wanted this brawl with the hoothoot to end swiftly. She needed strength on her team and the nidoran was sure as hell showing she had plenty of that. Perhaps she could get the little pokemon to join her afterwards; stranger things had happened.
"Sand attack. Tackle immediately."
Ayra flew down close to the Hoothoot, flapping her wings to buffer the owl with the sand and dirt of the route before shooting forwards in a vicious tackle to try and take the stupid thing out as soon as possible.
"Why are you out here fighting this weakling, anyways?" Nova asked of the nidoran, curious. She knew that not all pokémon could understand human speak, but it was worth a shot, at the very least. |

<Because it's my job,>Nidoran replied curtly to the Trainer. She didn't want to elaborate on that since she is still concentrated on the battle. Hoothoot felt all hope was lost as his Tackle attack missed. His eyes became clouded with dust and sand, unable to locate anything through the swirling sand. Suddenly he felt the impact of the Pidgey's Tackle attack. Hoothoot let out a cry of pain and tumbled to the ground, too weak to get back up. His breath became quick and shallow, struggling to remain conscience. The Hoothoot managed to get back onto his feet, though he wobbled violently, trying to support his weight. <Give up, you can't win,>Nidoran hissed, slashing her claws down the Hoothoot's flesh again. Hoothoot let out another cry of pain, too weak to make a retort. Taking desperate measures, the Owl Pokemon let out a defiant growl.
