Quinn felt a little group of somethings pop lightly against her face, startling her. Propping herself up onto her elbows, she saw three... large... blue... "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
[/i]" She let out a piercing scream, crawling frantically backwards away from the Surskits. She hated anything even remotely like creepy-crawlies. Helix, hearing her scream, spun to face her and then zoomed in front of her, his overprotectiveness taking control of him. He hovered there, eyeing the three Surskits, the last of the bubbles popping harmlessly. " Go away! Shoo!" Quinn waved her hand at them, her arm shaking slightly. " If any of you come near me, I... I swear I'll punch you!" She threatened. " Now go away! Goodbye! Leave!" She waved her hand some more, hoping they got the hint. Birthday, who'd jolted awake from the sudden scream, rubbed her eyes and yawned, her voice emitting a high-pitched squeal. Remembering her baby Smoochum, Quinn realised that the Surskits were smack bang in between them. She couldn't leave little Birthday all by herself! " Helix, go get Birthday." She said firmly; the Shuppet reluctantly left his trainer, hovering up to Birthday and shoving her. Falling out of the rucksack, the Smoochum released another squeal as she hit the ground, sounding surprised. But instead of following the Shuppet, she picked herself up and toddled over to the group of blue creepy-crawlies, flashing them a sweet smile. ::smoochum:: [/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

The three Surskit giggled. Jumping off of the river they landed on the ground in front of the Trainer. <Hehehe! Hi there!> The one in the middle said happily. The other two giggled, oh it was so much fun messing around with Trainers. They really had nothing better to do, it was quiet around this part of the route. The three Surskit sisters giggled. The one shot another playful Bubble at the Trainer's face.

Screaming again, Quinn aimed a punch at the Surskit; however, it didn't hit, whirling madly through a random patch of air. She wasn't very good at fighting when she was frantic... "Stop bubbling me!" She half-yelled, her face going slightly red. Just the sight of their weird, spindly legs sent her over the edge. "Don't touch me!" She didn't know why she was getting this mad, or this frightened, but she'd never liked creepy crawlies. And now, when three massive blue spiders try to crawl all over her, she was petrified. "Helix, Screech and Shadow Sneak!" She squealed, crawling further backwards away from them. From his position behind the Surskits, Helix opened his mouth and released a piercing screech, making the air vibrate around Quinn's ears; then, he cloaked himself in his extended shadow and made to strike one of the Surskits from behind - the one which had bubbled Quinn's face just now. Birthday, meanwhile, had plopped herself onto the grassy bank on her bum, practising her kisses by smooching the air and blowing kisses to the trees. ::shuppet:: HELIX used SCREECH and SHADOW SNEAK on SURSKIT #1!

Surskit #1 (Defense -2) Hit by Shadow Sneak Uses Bubble on Helix Surskit #2 Uses Bubble on Quinn Surskit #3 Uses Bubble on Birthday
<So loud! You're gonna wake up my momma's momma!> The attacking Surskit had to cover its ears from the super loud Screech, instantly lowering his defenses while Helix prepared his attack. Now he was imagining his ears ringing. Wow, what a weird berry trip this was. His legs trembled as his body swayed back and forth, trying to get the annoying sound out of his head.
<Ghostie pulled a disappearing act.> One of the Surskit gasped, unfazed by the Screech. The other one nodded its head thoughtfully, wondering when it would reappear once more. In fact, they didn't have to wonder for long, because he was able to successfully make a blow to their friend's rear end.
<Ow! Hey guys! I declare war on these foes!> The buttsore Surskit cried, shooting a bubble attack at the Shuppet that wanted to be a spoil sport. The weakest of the group decided to pick on the kissing Smoochum, sending a weak Bubble in her direction. The remaining Surskit merely shrugged, not wanting to play dirty it decided to give a weak bubble on Quinn's face. Her face looked dirty anyways.

Birthday, being a tiny baby, almost fainted there and then from the weak bubble. However, she picked herself up from the grass, before using Ice Punch of her own accord, her fist tinting blue, before tendrils of ice crackled around it. Aiming the whack at the Surskit that had attacked her, the muscles on her face clamped together in a frown, determined to land the hit. ::smoochum:: ICE PUNCH
Helix, being much more experienced, but relatively still weak compared to other Pokemon, managed to steer himself away from the Bubble attack. He glanced at Quinn; she was screaming her head off from the Surskit that had attacked her, and so used the only offensive move in his arsenal; Shadow Sneak. Extending his shadow, he hid himself in the darkness, before whirling around to attack his foe from behind. ::shuppet:: SHADOW SNEAK
Quinn, as Helix had noticed, had been screaming her head off as the remaining Surskit bubbled her face. She didn't want any part of that disgusting, big spider touching her - so, resorting to violent means, she stretched her arm out to grab one of the Surskit's spindly legs to throw it away from her, as if it were an item of rubbish. ::QuinnSprite:: SHAKE AND THROW

Well! The three Surskit certainly weren't expecting this were they? The attacks of the foes hit, leaving an icy chill in one Surskit's flank and a raw spot on another's rear end. The third shook in the Trainer's hand before going for a free flying lesson through the air, hitting the dirt and violently shaking herself down before she returned to her friends. That was unheard of! A trainer attacking pokémon with their bare hands!
Now was the time for banding together. If they continued their split assault, they would get no-where. The Trainer was the biggest of the lot so two of the Surskit shot their bubble attacks at her, giggling as they anticipated her reaction but keeping themselves out of harms way. The Third Surskit shot bubbles at the ghost, determined to get it back for hitting it on the rear TWICE!

Noticing that none of the Surskit were targeting her, Birthday ran forward towards the duo firing her trainer, determined to naively protect her "mother". Almost tripping over herself as she toddled, with the maximum speed her tiny legs could muster, she closed in on the Surskits. Preparing her fist, she aimed a Pound attack towards the couple, hoping to snag one of them in some way with her chubby pink fist. ::smoochum:: POUND
Helix, however, didn't have the same luck with dodging another shot of bubbles. They popped against his misty body, sending him reeling backwards in the air, tumbling over and over himself. Tensing, he stopped himself rolling, and righted himself into the correct position in the air. Seeing as Quinn was preoccupied once again, he used his own initiative to attack the Surskit who had shot at him. Shadow Sneak it was. ::shuppet:: SHADOW SNEAK
Quinn had jumped up, so she was now towering over her Pokemon opponents. The bubbles popped harmlessly against her legs. The cheek of them! She was furious; her face was probably flushing scarlet right now, but damn, she didn't care. Bending down, she made to grab the two annoying Surskits, and throw them into the river. That was, after Birthday had attacked them, bless her. QUINN: THROW INTO RIVER

One of the three Surskit sisters yelped as the Pound came her way. She was knocked into the river where Quinn was. She popped her head out and blinked.
The second of the three screamed in terror as The Shadow Sneak came up underneath her. She tumbled backwards and shook her head. She giggled then shot some more Bubbles at the Shuppet.
The thrid one didn't have such good luck like the other two. She was grabbed by Quinn and thrown into the river. She landed in it then popped her head out. She didn't know humans had moves too! She shoot a harmless Bubble at her again playfully.

So there were now two Surskits in the river, whilst one had tumbled along the ground in the aftermath of Helix's Shadow Sneak. Without hesitation, both Birthday and Helix ignored the two in the river, and went straight for the Surskit still on land. Birthday, still toddling and tripping over herself every now and then, geared up her fist for an Ice Punch - her right hand was steadily tinted blue, and small tendrils of ice crackled up her forearm, reading to strike the Surskit with a freezing hit. Helix, meanwhile, used another Shadow Sneak; extending his shadow, he concealed himself in the darkness before whirling around to hit the Surskit from behind. Quinn, realising that the two Pokemon were finally working together as a team, left them do it, whilst waving away from the remaining bubbles around her face, and walking over to the river to give the remaining two Surskits a fierce shake to make them go away, lunging for their spindly, azure legs.

The Surskit on land let out an amused giggle as she watched the Smoochum toddle towards her like a newborn, not yet graceful with her footing yet. Therefore, the Water Pokemon had enough time to dodge the Ice Punch, sending a Bubble attack whilst she dodged the punch. However, right when the Surskit began to register that the Shuppet was nowhere to be seen, she felt an impact from behind, as if her own shadow had come up from the ground and smacked her. She fell face-first upon the ground with a squeak of pain. Once again, she had been a victim of Shadow Sneak. "Sis! Help me!"the Surskit called indignantly, feeling unhappy that her sisters were safely in a pond while she was being attacked by two Pokemons. The two Surskits let out teasing giggles as they watched the female Trainer lunge towards them, hands outstretched as if trying to reach them. Both Surskits quickly submerged into the water, avoid the hand as they popped back up, only a safer distance away. One of the Surskit even blew another teasing bubble at Quinn's face again, laughing as she did. The other Surskit had heard her sister's cry for help. Quick as lightning, she bounded out of the water, racing on her lithe, spindly legs towards the other Surskit and the Trainer's Pokemon. <Heads up!>Surskit called out, blowing another Bubble attack at Helix. #1 Dodged Ice Punch and used Bubble on BirthdayHit by Shadow Sneak#2 Dodged Shake attack and Joined battle with Surskit #1Used Bubble on Helix#3 Dodged Shake attackUsed Teasing Bubble on Quinn

Birthday, being only a little level 2, only just stopped herself from fainting. Another one would probably do the trick... but still, while her trainer was busy strangling Surskits, she went for another Ice Punch at the Surskit which had attacked her. Helix managed to dodge the bubbles again, giggling. These Surskits had nothing on him! He proceeded to use another Shadow Sneak on his attack. Quinn, meanwhile, was still in the water, completely drenched. Wading out, the last thing she needed was a Surskit bubbling at her. This time she was determined to latch onto one of the pesky little things - she jumped at the Surskit which had attacked her, aiming to grab it and throw it over the trees, away from the battle.

The Ice Punch struck the Surskit dead on, making her squeal in pain as the sound of shattering ice signalled that she had been rather badly hurt by this last attack. >Hey! What did you do that for?!< demanded the second Surskit. >We were only playi-AGH!< The second Surskit sister cried out as she was launched into the air by the Shadow Sneak, screaming as the ground rushed to greet her with a painfully sharp sound reverberating through Route One. Getting up, the two Surskit sisters each blew a barrage of Bubbles at Helix. As Quinn moved to grab the third Surskit, she tried to jump out of the way, giggling again, but the giggle turned to a gasp as she was picked up and thrown extremely high into the air. She was a light bug, and so flew at least ten feet into the air before landing with a sickening crack. She wasn't moving. ::surskit:: Weakening. Used Bubble on Helix.

Quinn clapped the dust off her hands as the Surskit landed in a heap of unmoving blue flesh a few feet away from her. Good. Although she felt a pang of remorse, she'd told those bugs numerous times to stay away from her. It wasn't like she wouldn't use physical contact, cause goddamit, she would.
Feeling the rush as she gained a level Turning to look at the battle, she saw that Helix was being outnumbered by the two remaining Surskits. Birthday already took the initiative, and despite being weak, she gave a weak battle cry as she toddled over herself to deliver a Pound attack to the nearest Surskit, flailing her fists as she did so. Helix tried to dodge the Bubbles, but both hit him; as they popped against his misty flesh, he let out a low moan of distress, before shaking off the effect, feeling his health depleting, and proceeding to perform another Shadow Sneak on the Surskit that Birthday wasn't attacking. Quinn ran forward, ready to pick up and shake any Surskits that tried to dodge the Pokemon attacks.

Birthday's attack was unexpected enough to earn an easy hit upon the surskit sister which was to the right. It sent her stumbling into her sister, because one of the flailing swipes had hit her on the leg. As she tottled into her sister, her sister was trying to dodge Helix's shadow sneak. It happened badly for the right hand Surskit sister, and she had been hit by pound and knocked her sister out of the path of Helix's attack. Making herself right in the path of it. She let out a scrawny cry from the phantasmal strike from Helix, and then she fell to the ground. Apparently the duo had sent her into overload. The left hand Surskit blinked, and then sent a bubble attack at Helix. She had jerked to and fro between checking on her flung sister and protecting her recently fallen sister, and as such wasn't sure what to do beyond bubbling the ghost sock puppet. ::Surskit:: #1 Hit by Pound, hit by Shadow Sneak. Quinn decided to let her two Pokemon take the last Surskit down on their own - they didn't need help. Hell, they already outnumbered that damned blue bug. "Helix, Shadow Sneak. Birthday, Ice Punch." She said the sentence almost lazily; she was relaxed, now that two of the Surskit Sisters had been taken out. Helix whirled around, cloaked in shadow, to strike the Surskit from behind; Birthday screamed another battle cry, running forwards to deliver an Ice Punch to the remaining Surskit.

Surskit #1 Fainted Surskit #2 Knocked out by Ice Punch and Shadow Sneak Surskit #3 Fainted Birthday gains 1.5 levels and Helix gains 1 Level. (Since Quinn intervened)
As the combination of attacks strode over to the final Surskit, she couldn't help but try and get away-- except for the fact that her feet were a tad too oily. She ended up nearly tripping over her four, sting like legs as the Smoochum gave her an icy cold punch to her rear end. Yelping from the damage, she sprung up into the air, rubbing her sore behind.
Of course, then she was greeted by Helix, that immediately rammed into her with his Shadow Sneak. The combination of attacks was just awful enough to keep her down and out with hardly a moan to escape from her lips. All she could do was rest next to her fallen sister, a dark blanket of unconsciousness slowly slipping over her eyes.
She hoped that the trainer would simply leave then be, because then one of the stronger ones could wake up and hide them before any predators came to gobble them up. It sounded much better than living with...a ghost! And a kissy thing!

Quinn shivered as the last Surskit was knocked out, due to the Smoochum and Shuppet's combined attacks. She felt proud of her Pokemon, especially little baby Birthday, but wanted to get away from this place. Why would she stay in a place with a heap of mangled, spidery things lurking nearby? They could jump up at any second! "Come on, loves." Quinn said, eyeing the fainted Surskits, slinging her back onto one shoulder. "Let's move on." She recalled Birthday, who needed to heal back up from the tiny snippet of energy she had left. She recalled Helix too, purely because he'd probably need some recovery time, too. And with that, she left the little clearing and the little stream, finding the beaten track through Route One and following it into the unknown.

>Oomph!<A Wurmple fell out of a tree with a scream, landing on the ground hard, but still scrambling to his many little feet before trying to scuttle away, noticeably limping on a few of those feet. His progress was hampered as a much larger, heavier creature dropped down, pinning himself into the ground with incredible force, before using his spines to dig himself out and hop after the Wurmple before landing on his tail, pinning him in place. The Wurmple squealed in pain as the Pineco roared at him. >Come into MY tree and eat MY berries, eh?!< he bellowed as the Wurmple writhed and screamed desperately. >N-no! I didn't know! I-Iswear!< shrieked Wurmple, his struggles not doing much good against the superior weight and power of the Pineco's spiny bulk. As it was, it was impossible to ascertain who was telling the truth. A decision would have to be made. Side with one, be the mediator, or leave them to it? ::pineco:: ::wurmple:: Interfere?

Quinn wasn't particularly interested in either the Pineco nor the Wurmple, but hey, she had Pokemon that needed levelling. So she picked out a Pokeball and cast it into the battle space - Cor the Meditite took shape in front of her. Now, which one to attack? The Wurmple was pretty much battered already, but her morality would take a hit if she decided to attack the victim instead of the bully. And so, she declared war on the Pineco. "Cor, Psycho Cut on the Pineco, please." She said politely. Cor hated rudeness, and so everything said to him had to be sprinkled with good manners. Grunting and nodding his head in response, Cor rushed forward lithely, his hand raised in a vertical position to strike the Pineco square in the face. ::meditite:: PSYCHO CUT

Ouch.
Pineco didn't see the attack coming by any means, and though the pinned Wurmple did, he did nothing to warn his attacker of the oncoming assault. What goes around, comes around, right? I mean true, that Oran had been what he was eying, but he'd never actually gotten to it before the Pineco had knocked him out of the tree. And seeing as he hadn't done the crime (despite having full intentions to) that meant he should be home-free in terms of punishment, right?
Staggering backward, the pinecone Pokemon trembled with rage and half-roared at his new opponent, much as he'd been doing to the Wurmple moments before. <An' what right did you 'ave to interrupt, mate?> he demanded, spittle flying from his mouth in small, disturbing drops as he let go of the bug and turned his attention to the Meditite.
Freed, Wurmple just wanted to get as far away from the scene of the crime as possible. So he turned tail and started to wriggle away, hoping that he wouldn't be stopped.
Pineco was too busy readying for an attack to pay much attention to the bug, so it would be up to the trainer to decide whether the other bug could stay or go. Yelling in challenge, the cone Pokemon then attempted to body-check the Meditite.
