This was extremely satisfying, the feeling of being on the final route was almost bittersweet for the veteran trainer. Would Jay consider himself a master? Never. Cheyenne had a few masters but they haven't been seen or heard from in years, they were the true masters of Cheyenne. The world had been filled with change ever since they vanished and Jay was truly feeling ready to finish his journey. It's been a long four years with his pokemon and all he really wanted was for them to finally get to their goal. Would he continue after? Probably not. He proved to himself that he could and he would have life-long partners with all five of his companions that he would truly call best friends. It was an endeavor to say the least and with those final words, Jay began.
He took a deep calming breath and released his true best friend. Hel the Umbreon appeared with a small dark cloud of obsidian releasing from the pokeball. She was the strongest pokemon he had and he definitely had faith with her. It's been a long hard run and he would try his best to continue strong, as he has been.
They began their walk on the road with their eyes both open awaiting something to happen.

The caw of a Pidgeotto sounded from afar, and the sound of a girl laughing came with it. The giggle echoed through the tunnel, turning the joyful sound into something rather discordant and distorted, seeming out of place in this darkened location. "Wait for me, Feather!" came the echoed voice, laughing again as scarlet smoke began to form from the air. The smoke swirled and clumped together, and suddenly, a shiny Pidgeotto flew from its depths, blackened at first until eventually solidifying and becoming coloured; a feathered creature of amber and gold. The Pidgeotto hung in the air, flapping the tips of her wings occasionally to keep herself airborne as the smoke formed into a woman. No she didn't emerge from the smoke like the Pidgeotto had only seconds before. The smoke became her. With a blue cap on her head and deep red hair, she was clothed in black from head to foot. However, she had a ghostly, translucent quality to her that suggested she was something... abnormal, and she had eyes only for her shiny Pidgeotto. "Feather, you're supposed to stay close when we're in a place like thi- Oh?" Her smile faded for a brief second as she looked at Jay, taking him in, then returned. "Well hello there. Are you travelling through here too?" she asked. Not waiting for an answer, she kept talking as she paced up and down, her Pidgeotto landing on her shoulder and looking at Jay while the girl did not. "This is your last step towards the Pokémon League. The Elite Four., And if you wanna survive them, you're gonna need to be pretty strong."Finally looking at Jay again, she beamed. "That's why you're gonna fight me!" she giggled. "If you can't beat me, there's no way you could defeat the Elite Four! So just think of me as a test. Or a stepping stone. Either way, you're fighting me!" She flashed a wink at Jay as her Pidgeotto cawed in harmony with her challenge, though something in her eyes suggested this battle was not a challenge to be taken lightly, and nor was it something to be turned down. Rules were rules! If two Trainers' eyes meet, it's time for a battle! Aryll challenges you.Ari's edit;; that's pidgeotto

The beginning of the unsatisfying journey came to a halt right here, Aryll. Jay had heard of her before and had a smug look on his face, Artemis had only been the same level as the Pidgeot. Jay wanted to use Electivire but it had been too low to face this opponent, Jay attached his lucky egg to his Artemis and watched as the battle begun.
"Confuse Ray and a Shadow Ball." this was why Artemis had wanted to do contest, her moves were flawless and graceful. She arched her back and created two balls with her tail along with her head. One was the confuse ray and the other was the Shadow Ball. She launched both of them into the sky making them collide with each other, this created a dark aura-like fog headed straight for the Pidgeot filled with dark damage and confusion. If Artemis was lucky, it would hit but Jay wouldn't hold his breath.

A small smirk graced the young trainers face as her opponent finally sent out a pokemon, clearly as eager to battle as she was. The umbreon was so cute~! For a moment Aryll just wanted to run over and hug the little thing, though a stern coo from Feather reminded her this wasn't the time. "Come on feather, let's show them the power of Route 7!" shouted the young trainer, pointing at the umbreon, her face growing a lot more serious now that the battle had started. Even as the pidgeotto took to the air her opponent made his move, firing a shadow ball and confuse ray at her! Giggling, Aryll considered letting the shadow ball hit, just to emphasize the new comers rookie mistake of using a ghost move on a normal type, when the confuse ray fused with it. "Feather counter it with Whirlwind!"With a shrill cry the bird Pokémon began to rapidly flap its wings, until a large twister began to form. As the foggy aura drew closer Feather released it, the two attacks colliding head on. As the whirlwind struck the dark fog-like aura it ripped the dark attack apart, scattering it across the field in a thick blanket of darkness. "Follow up with Quick Attack!"Though the field was shrouded in darkness, thanks to Keen Eye, Feather's accuracy wasn't effected at all by the darkness on the field. Twisting around the pidgeotto burst from the darkness after a brief delay, white light trailing behind her as she aimed a quick attack at the umbreon's left side. Countered the Shadowball confuseray fusion with Whirlwind!Feather used Quick Attack on Artemis!

"Shit." Jay responded as the bird vigorously flapped its wing sending the dark cloud straight back to the Umbreon. He cringed slightly as he quickly thought of a new plan, "Iron Tail!" Jay yelled and almost instantaneously Artemis began her attack listening to exactly what her trainer told her to do.
The Umbreon instantly noticed where the Shiny Pidgeotto was going to be and where it was going to attack. Her tail turned into a bright white in color as she used an Iron Tail to try and absorb the Quick Attack that Feather was using. The two moves created friction that caused Umbreon to fly back a few feet through the air to land on her feet. She wasn't known as Jay's favorite pokemon for no reason, she was the most agile and nimble out of the group and despite not having any sort of advantage in this battle she would win, for her trainer.

Aryll frowned as Feather was thrown back from the impact of the Iron Tail. Feather shook her head and cried out. "Alright! About time we got a good battle!" Aryll said happily as her partner nodded in agreement. "Let's go for a Feather Dance! Follow it with Twister!" She called out.
Feather let lose some of her feathers, they floated in mid-air before she gently blew them at the Umbreon. Then, as they flew towards the Pokemon Feather started flapping her wings wildly, causing a Twister fly at the dark Pokemon.
Feather was hit by Iron Tail! Feather used Featherdance and Twister!

Jay saw as Artemis was about to take on the barrage of both attacks. "Take the Twister and use Psychic and Confuse Ray." Jay spoke to Artemis and could only hope that this would work.
Artemis took the featherdance and that lowered the Umbreon's attack and the twister slowly took health from Artemis overall, a small wind force stuck onto Artemis and would slowly take damage in the latter rounds. Now, it was Artemis' turn to attack as she released a quick confuse ray ball straight for the Pidgeotto. Then, the umbreon's eyes turned purple as she used psychic trying to slam the Pidgeotto onto the ground with her psychic prowless.
The Abra egg he received from his mother gave him a weak smile, he almost forgot about his family and it was nice to see that they cared despite him being gone for how long that Jay had been there. He held onto the egg and caressed it slowly waiting for it to hatch, but it would all come in time.

Pokemon Master Aryll { Feather } Level 65 Hit by Psychic Confused Weakening Uses Sand Attack
"Humth. I see what you're doing." Aryll bit her lip as the Confuse Ray spiraled up towards Feather, as if it was a heat seeking missile that wouldn't stop until it met its target. She couldn't decide on which move to dodge; the confuse ray, or the psychic? Which would've been worse to deal with? Granted, the Umbreon couldn't have had amazing offensive stats, but once it was Confused, it would've been next to impossible to take it down.
"Dodge the Confuse Ray, Feather." She barked, eyes narrowing when she discovered that the status ailment was quicker than her Pidgeotto. How could that be? It was already surrounding the feathered beast as it cried out in worry, then sinking into his body to temporarily mess with his mind.
Then the Psychic instantly slammed him into the ground with a weak caw, but something in his eyes told her that he wasn't about to give up. Not yet, at least. "Sand Attack." She hissed, wanting to make sure that the Umbreon couldn't harm any more of her Pokémon for when she sent them out. The Pidgeotto struggled to push himself off of the ground, but once he was up, he looked just as noble as before. Raising his majestic wings, he kicked up a sharp Sand Attack at the Umbreon, knowing he wouldn't last too much longer.

The struggle with this battle was that Umbreon was the only Pokémon that would've been able to compleltey stand up to these opponents. She was the favorite, that's why her Pokémon had been so much higher then the others. However, this Pokémon was completely immune to the Shadow Ball move which was Artemis' signature move. Jay had to think and think fast, "The Sand Attack, close your eyes and use Faint Attack." The thing was that Faint Attack was known for always hitting the target, Artemis would be blinded but hopefully this cheap tactic would be successful.
Artemis nodded as a barrage of sand landed in her eye, she was blinded temporarily as her other senses were enhanced for the time being. She used Faint Attack and let her body take control, she barked quickly trying to get the Pidgeotto's attention before disappearing from the ground and close enough to the Pidgeotto trying to land her Faint Attack before landing back on her feet, taking damage from the fall. Artemis wasn't extremely weakened, maybe at about half health because of the weak attacks the Pidgeotto sent. However, Aryll know knew how Artemis battled and would have a counter. Just in case Jay had Artemis' pokeball out.
Jay clutched onto the egg putting it under his gray cardigan, he didn't want it to get hurt by the battle. He held onto it tight as the barrage of sand hit him hard, he cringed already knowing that in battles sometimes the pokemon unintentionally hit trainers with attacks.

Pokemon Master Aryll { Feather } Level 65 Hit by Faint Attack Confused Weakening Featherdance + Gust
"...that's a nice strategy." Aryll commented neutrally, biting her lip as she noticed Feather's dwindling health. Umbreon was doing its part as a tank-- taking hits and outlasting the foe. Still, she had been smart to command Feather's Featherdance from earlier, practically halving the damage she would've earned anyways.
Her eyes flicked back to her companion, the one she caught on the first day on her journey. Now, she always had a special place for Tucker in her heart, but Feather...she earned him. First battle, ending up as a victory. That little Pidgey grew up a lot since then, and even if she might've been a hologram, she still retained many of her counter-part's memories and emotions. All in order to keep her style and capture her personality, she supposed.
"Endure it, Feather. Dance and Gust." She combined Feather's name with the actual attack, a bit of a habit of hers, as narrowed eyes watched as the confused Pidgeotto struggled to obey her. It glanced about in random directions before eyes locked onto the Umbreon. This was his foe, right? With a mighty caw, it shook off some of his excess feathers, all sparkling with a mystic power. They would've fallen softly like snowflakes if he hadn't backed them up with a Gust attack, making them move a lot more sporadically.

Oh great. Just Great. He knew that Artemis could outlast the Pidgeotto and all that the featherdance had been doing was creating a whirlwind of a mess for Jay. "Switch to all Special Attack moves. You know what to do." Jay's lips perched a smile as he held on to that egg for dear life.
Artemis was in a barrage of gust and feathers (that honestly just created an Umbreon with really low attack power), the gust had been powerful but it was just a gust. Jay was surprised that the Pidgeotto hadn't had a powerful Aerial Ace, or something of that nature. The Umbreon's eyes turned bright purple as the sand was pushed out by the psychic power. Artemis aimed at the Pidgeotto attempting to make it fall, one more time or just cause some damage so that Artemis could finally take a rest.

Pokemon Master Aryll { Feather } Level 65 Hit by Psychic Confused Hit self in Confusion Fainted.
The Psychic waves approached the Pidgeotto as he made a bold attempt to dodge them, but his confusion simply reversed his actions at the wrong time, making him go straight into them. Crying out in distress as he was constricted within the Umbreon's mental prowess, he was slammed straight into the ground, despite Ayrll's shouts for him to fly away.
"Feather! Attack!" She commanded with haste, still sensing a hint of fight in the Pidgeotto's body. He struggled to get back up, raising both of his wings in the air, as if he was about to fly, but then smacked himself in the face, effectively knocking him out. 'Aww, Feather. Why?' She whined, obviously not happy with that last turn in the battle. He could've been a lot more noble. Returning him in his Pokeball, he sent a curious look towards the Umbreon. Was a pursuit even worth it?
'Yes. Go for it.' Her eyes narrowed as Storm's Pokeball was held tightly in her hands. Even if the Umbreon was resistant to the move, it would've forced her to stay in a turn longer, because who would want to switch out of a move that did double damage from that mere action?
"Pursuit the Umbreon, Storm." She cried, releasing a Jade Buizel from the sphere. His odd green coloring was different from most jade Pokemon, but he didn't brag about it typically. Crossing his arms with a smug snort, a dark energy started to form around his body, as if he was preparing for a dark version of Aqua Jet. With a furious cry, he charged at the Umbreon with full intent on taking her down (at least eventually).
{ Storm } Starts with Pursuit

The move Pursuit was an incredibly strong move considering, if he did switch it would double the damage of the move. "Artemis. Take the attack." Artemis smirked already knowing it was her turn to get out of battle. As the move hit all Jay could do was cringe, it wasn't super effective but from the battle Artemis was near fainting already. "Return Artemis." he called out as he took her pokeball out and gave her a long deserved rest.
In Jay's mind, he could've used his newest addition, the Smuglord, but, his Pokémon were already so weak (by 10 levels) he would've instead used Qux but Zek needed to be trained. "Let's go Zek." he called out as the long unused Electivire appeared pounding his chest ready for battle. "Quickly. Light Screen and Thunder." his words were sharp in commanding his electric type waiting for the brute to execute his commands.
Zek's hands appeared as if he was conducting an orchestra, a magic shield appeared for five turns that would half the damage of special attacks. Next, Zek charged up a powerful Thunder attack and sent it straight for the Jade Buizel.
Jay held onto the the egg once again slowly feeling life from within.
Zek used Thunder & Light Screen.

Aryll gasped. "Quick, dodge it!" She cried out to her Buizel. Storm quickly moved to the ground as the Thunder struck the ground. He rolled away and quickly got to his feet. He punched his fists in the air to show he wasn't giving up so soon. Since it used light Screen it was time for more psyical moves now Aryll thought. "Aqua Jet!" She called.
Storm called on his power and was soon covered in water. He then shot off from the ground and zoomed towards the Electric Pokemon. His tail pushing him through the water as it stuck to his fur and came with him in a furous Aqua Jet.
Dodged Thunder! used Aqua Jet!

Ironically enough, the Electivire had been pumped up for this battle for quite some time. The level difference was enough of a difference to cause Electivire some wary, but regardless he would try his best as long as he had motivation from his trainer. "Discharge." he spoke with a sweet confidence, regardless of the level difference Jay knew that his Electivire Zek, had enough heart to at least give this Jade Buizel a decent battle.
Zek released a large roar as his hands began to charge with electricity, his entire body was filled with electric power waiting for the perfect moment. The Buizel hit and it hit hard. As the Aqua Jet hit the Electivire's stomach, the electric type released his discharge into the stream of water hoping to hurt the Buizel for a little bit.
The power of the attack caused Zek to fall onto the floor, he stood back up with an angry glare, his health was diminishing quickly and he needed a way to try and turn the tide of battle.

Champion Aryll{ Storm } Level 65 Hit by Discharge (Super Effective) Uses Growl + Aqua Jet
Storm was more than confident when his Aqua Jet struck the electric type good in the chest, feeling him shove it back as the intense stream of water guided him forward. As his nose met with the Electivire's bright, musty scented fur, a tickle of electricity met his nose. Eyes widening in shock, his jade colored tails stopped spinning in an attempt to back off, but the discharge got him at close range.
"Storm!" Aryll cried out, clenching her fists as the Jade Buizel landed on his feet, panting from the super effective blow. He endured worse, yes, because those in the Elite 4 were simply that powerful, but he could sense that this would be more than a training exercise. An actual battle, even!
"You're doing great, pal. Growl and Aqua Jet, again." She turned, glancing at the Light Screen that would've weakened most of their attacks. Physical attacks were the way to go, even if they were a bit limited when it came to diversity. The Buizel let out a sharp growl as a warning to his opponent, daring him to try something like that again. Then, with bright blue water dancing around his body, he speedily charged ahead, making sure that he would get the first move in before his opponent.

"You can do it Zek." famous words of encouragement from his trainer. Zek was a powerful pokemon, maybe not as strong as the Buizel but a few more electric moves would hopefully paralyze it or something. He needed an edge or he would faint in the upcoming turns. "Dodge the move and use Thunder." Jay yelled out so that his Electivire could hear him, he had faith that this was going to come out decent.
Zek began his attack startled, he looked at the Buizel and felt his attack decrease. Luckily for Zek, the thunder move wasn't psychical damage and it was based on special attack power. The large Electivire then darted to the left as the Buizel's aqua jet continued to follow it. "Great." Jay said as his Electivire was unable to dodge the quick nible Buizel. In a rage-like state the Electivire panted before releasing a powerful Thunder aimed in the Buizel's general direction.

Champion Aryll{ Storm } Level 65 Hit by Thunder (Super Effective) Weakened--Switches-- ::manectric:: { Tucker } Level 65 Uses Howl (+1 Attack)
The second the Aqua Jet missed, Aryll knew that Storm was in trouble. She tried to call out for him to dodge, but it already appeared that he was trying to do so. The speedy attack was difficult to control, and it ended up propelling him higher into the sky, with the Thunder chasing after him. The stream of water was the perfect conductor, chasing after the Buizel and giving him an instant shock.
With a pained yelp, he started to fall closer and closer to the ground, with the electricity from the Thunder still crackling on his body. Reacting fast, Aryll swiftly recalled the Buizel back into his Pokeball, knowing that he could probably take out whatever Jay had left. "Close call." She sighed, taking out her final Pokemon. Tucker, her starter, and the one that was most important to her. Whether Jay switched out or not didn't even matter, because as the battle rules followed, she could make one attack after a switch, and she chose to stick by them.
"Tucker, get ready with Howl." She cried, releasing the Manectric from his Pokeball in a burst of stars. Contest stickers, yes, she had a strong liking for them, and it reflected the Manectric's brave personality as well. Taking a bold step forward, he let out an inspiring howl, raising his attack.

Jay wouldn't switch, he would try his best against the Electivire and he honestly had no idea what pokemon to use. "Use Light Screen and Focus Blast." Jay commanded his Electivire and hoped that this would actually work.
Electivire already panting from being extremely worn-out in battle used a second light screen trying to protect his fellow comrades for the next five turns. He then created a strong teal like-aura known as Focus Blast. He shot it straight for the Magnetric and waited, he was tired from battle but didn't give up.
