The underbrush was pushed to the side, revealing a clearly well beaten path. The sun shown down, revealing dozens of footprints of the past engraved in the dirt. There was no telling how many trainers stood where Jacob stood now, wondering what adventures they would embark on as they took their first steps on this path. Jacob too had been like that, his first time around at least.
The route looked no different than it had three years ago, and from a simple glance, neither did Jacob. His goals of becoming a top coordinator remained the same as well. His knowledge of Pokémon however had increased, and he became softer in their presences.
He ran his hand over the pokeballs hidden in his pockets with a great deal of pleasure. These were his prizes from his unfinished journey. There was no doubt, this time, he would finish the journey. He had wiped his mind clean of any silly task, every unnecessary memory. Becoming a Pokémon coordinator was the only goal this time, and Jacob was ruthless enough to do anything to get there.

A bellsprout was enjoying the beautiful late summer day, savoring the last of the wondrous season before fall would come with its rainier days. She was looking around on the ground for a nice, fertile patch of soil she could absorb nutrients from when she found one next to the Route 1 main road. Knowing trainers, and thus, potential dangers, don't pass by often, she scrambled over to the patch and dug her root-like feet into the dirt, sighing with happiness when she began to replenish her hunger with nutrients from the soil.
Little did she know that a human was approaching. Once she heard the telltale sound of shoes against the road, she began to panick, attempting to extract her feet from the ground quickly. However, it often took a few minutes once bellsprout were in the soil to take their roots out, due to gravity's strong pull. Rooted to the ground, she was left visible to the eyes of the human coming on the route.

The Bellsprout stood out amongst the lower underbrush. Its budded head poked out greeting the sun. Had it been any other day the Bellsprout might have continued its pleasant sunbathing along the path. However, today was Jacob’s day.
It did not take Jacob long to notice the small Pokémon. Its small leaves whispered with the light breeze. The perfect Pokémon to train on, he smiled slyly. He reached into his pocket; seven small pokeballs lay there still, holding seven eager Pokémon ready to battle.
Jacob lifted one out of his pocket and enlarged it. He closed his eyes softly and tossed the pokeball into the air. It opened, allowing a red light to swell out of it, revealing a small dragon Pokémon. Its light blue body was swayed by slick grey hair.
The Bagon stood proudly in between the wild Bellsprout and his trainer. His head held high and he stretched out his stiff body. It had been a long, long while since he had left his pokeball, it was nice to get out a bit.

Continuing to struggle from her inrooted position was futile, she realized, once she saw that she'd dug her legs too deep into the floor to take them out anytime soon. She decided to simply give up and survey the person who'd decided to walk up the road. A cold shiver ran down her back when the man smiled and she inferred he was just another rude trainer that only wanted to train their own pokemon and didn't care so much about the feelings of wildlife.
Bellsprout took a sour look at the trainer when he took out his pokeball. Like any other trainer, I suppose... She thought, irritated. A bagon appeared from the capsule and stood there like the haughty dragon-type he was. Hmph. Annoyed, Bellsprout decided to take the first move.
Extending one of her vines, she lashed it out in the direction of the Bagon's face as if it were a whip.

The vine slashed against Arsenic’s face with a sharp hiss. He snarled back at the Bellsprout, glancing over his shoulder at his trainer for the first command. He was more than eager to engage in the battle, to defeat this menace of a Bellsprout and move on.
Jacob frowned as he heard the vine whip across the Bagon’s face. It’s a shame this Bellsprout was so ill tempered and feisty enough to attack first, otherwise Jacob could have made its end quick. Exhaling, Jacob opened his brown eyes. “Arsenic, use Rage,” Jacob’s voice of command was just as sharp as the Bellsprout’s vine whip.
Arsenic lowered its head with a foul look. He sprinted forward as fast as his small legs could carry him. With minimal vision capabilities, he charged at the Bellsprout, aiming at its large bud of a head. The Bagon put forth full effort and strength into this act of rage, attempting to do maximum damage.

Bellsprout had managed to get one of her roots out, but her other foot was still stuck in the ground as the Bagon advanced with his own attack. Shaking with fear, the little plant braced herself for inevitable impact. The rage of the pokemon's attack showed; Bellsprout gave a screech of pain as he executed it against her. When it was over, the plant looked up quickly and lashed out her vines once again, taking the opportunity to attack the dragon-type pokemon.

Arsenic was too close to dodge. He was struck by the vine with a stronger force than earlier. Unintentionally, Arsenic let out a soft cry out of shock. He glared at the Bellsprout, awaiting Jacob’s orders.
“Bite,” Jacob barked. The Bagon jumped at the Bellsprout its mouth open reaching for the leafy Pokémon. It tried to land on the Bellsprout, attempting to chomp into the plant with its sharp, small teeth.

OOC//
I have a bit of a problem with this part of your post. I understand that the Bellsprout is rooted to the ground and appears trapped, but if you can recall in the anime, probably first season, there was a Bellsprout that could dodge anything while stuck in one place just by moving it's thin body to the side.
^^' Please consider the Pokémon at hand. Could you also edit your post?
Edit two// That was an example. As long as you understand, then we're good to go.
BIC:
The Bellsprout's soft, thick leaf was hit by the Bagon's swift chomp. He hadn't held on for long though, which was good for both of them. Any longer, and she would've given him a vine whip to the face. She struggled with her roots that remained stuck in the wet soil, which made it feel as if she was trapped in quick sand. Finally freeing several from their bounds, she used a warning Vine Whip at the Bagon's feet to try and keep some distance between them.
She was much more focused on getting the rest of her roots out of the ground though, so anything the Bagon did, she was unlikely to notice it in her panic for freedom. What an awful situation for a Bellsprout to be in!

The vine whip slammed against Arsenic's muzzle with a loud crack for a second time. Even though it was simply a warning shot, more bark than bite, it still stung. He jumped back releasing the Bellsprout with a snarl. You'll regret that fiend, the small blue dragon pokemon spat through clenched teeth. There was a small red mark across his nose showing the whip's strike.
Jacob was becoming a little annoyed with the wild pokemon. "Lets try to end this quickly; use Rage please." He dug his hands into his formal black pant pockets and closed his eyes trying to maintain a clear cool headed view of this battle. Now lets see... Was this Bellsprout worth catching? No. The nuisance was only worth using to further Arsenic's level.
The Bagon was already fairly angered by the flower like pokemon. It was only a matter of seconds before he was able to gather that anger as energy to attack the other pokemon. Almost recklessly, Arsenic charged forward using Rage.

::bellsprout:: Pokemon battle ! The Bellsprout managed to free another of her roots, but at that very moment she felt the steely scales of the Bagon collide with her thin frame. Pain surged through her, and her body shivered from the impact. With a fierce gaze, the nearly-freed plant once again extended her vine with the intention of whipping the Bagon with it.

Arsenic's only thought when he saw the vine whipping out at him again was to dodge, but with the short range and his stubby legs that was just not possible. The green whip slapped him across the face yet again, this time drawing a bit of blood to the surface. He knew he had to end this quick, before the blood made him too dizzy to battle.
Jacob frowned. Grant it the Bagon was not the best dodger seeing as how he had been unable to dodge every attack in the battle thus far, but he was a good, sturdy pokemon. Even though he was low level he could take the hits. "Arsenic, Bite." Jacob's hands burried into his pants further, feeling the other pokeballs he carried with him. Would he have to switch out Arsenic? Or would Arsenic be able to finish off this wild pokemon?
Arsenic nodded slightly in response. It did not take much of a run, seeing as how close the two pokemon were at the moment, so the little blue dragon who wanted more than anything to fly Bagon opened his mouth real wide and leapt towards the Bellsprout hoping his aim was not affected by the small bleeding wound which would be sure to leave a scab, perhaps even a scar in later days.

The poor, little bellsprout couldn't keep up her bravado of confidence any longer, this entire battle had her scared out of her wits. Those teeth of that bagon were really sharp, and they bit into her with extreme prejudice. What did she do to deserve this? It was all just too much for her. The prescience the little root had for the situation was not good, as this trainer would probably either kill her or capture her. If he left her alone, maybe she could be lucky. The bite took the last of her energy, making her collapse to the ground. Her mind was swirling with colors, not able to focus on any particular sight. Vision was usually the first thing to go, and after her hearing started to fade; she knew she'd be under soon enough. Alas, she fell into a deep sleep a few moments after; unable to even argue back or defend herself. Arsenic gains 1 level!Bellsprout has fainted! Capture or move on?

Jacob may act cold and brutal but he was not a boy without a heart. The small plant pokemon had mostly unearthed itself by the time it fainted. He walked over to the limp thing and gently lifted it off the road. He could've crushed its weak life force; He could've tossed the Bellsprout aside to be eaten by other pokemon. No, he was not that heartless anymore.
Jacob was careful not to scare the pokemon with his movements. He gently placed the Bellsprout in a shady hidden patch of grass that wasn't in the middle of the path. He knelt there for a moment, burrying the plant's roots so that it may recieve some nurishment from the wet earth. Perhaps the plant would grow stronger from this. Perhaps a pokemon would stroll by and make it its lunch.
"Return," He called to Arsenic, allowing the red light of the pokeball to swallow the dragon. Without a second glance to the plant, Jacob walked on, head held high but not a twinkle to be found in his eye.

As Jacob walked onward, as he was stepping on the ground a head stuck up from under the grass. A pair of angry eyes stared at him. <Whoa whoa whoa!> The voice said, jumping up from under his bed of leaves. The Rattata stood on his hind legs and held his hands out as if to say 'stop'. He tapped his foot like he was waiting for an answer. <Well? Aren't you gonna say you're sorry punk?> he asked.
Apparently under Jacob's foot was a nice clean area of grass surrounded by rocks. And inside is, or was, a patch of clean flowers. The Rattata was angry that Jacob has crushed his flowers, he worked hard on that! <Hey bub, you're gonna fix that ya know.> he said in a 'as a matter of fact' tone.

Jacob eyed the Rattata with some interest. A male rat pokemon with an obsession for flowers? Very masculine. The pokemon wouldn't be a good addition to his team. If anything it would probably be as useful as the Bellsprout was, just a pokemon that would help his level.I'm going to have to fix this little garden? It was then that an idea occurred to him.
The weak Bellsprout he had just finished battling was a flower. Perhaps this Rattata would care for the other pokemon. After all, caring for a live interactive garden ought to be better than caring for the measly flowers he accidentally crushed, right? With a gentle, almost affectionate smile, Jacob leaned down to the small rat's height. "I have a proposition for you."

C O L D !<"Well you better!"> he snapped, completely skipping over this proposal. <"I want some yellow and blue flowers stat!"> he added on.
<"And they better not be wilted!"> he had to add that. The last person gave him a prevalent of yellow and blue flowers, but they were all dead and ugly. Ew. Gross.
<"I'll gratify you later.">

What an attitude... Jacob thought. His somewhat friendly smile faded quickly to a stern glare. "Look, you're big on these little flowers, right? Well few yards back there's a weak Bellsprout that I just battled. It could use your," Jacob paused for a minute thinking of the right word, "Gardening skills...Why don't you go help it out? I'm sure if you do a well enough job she'll find you some of the flowers you're looking for and also help you grow them.
"Quite frankly, I don't have the time to be finding you pitiful little flowers that some other trainer will just crush." He was glaring at the rat coldly. He could understand its frustration, didn't mean he would put up with the pokemon's attitude.

RATTATA::rattata:: The small purple mouse would put up with no more of Jacob's attitude than Jacob would but up with his. Frankly he could not believe he was just spoken to in such a brash manner! Humans... they had no manners. Baring his fangs he continued his verbal assault of the trainer. <"Well maybe if big, stupid, loud, rude humans like yourself didn't come tramping down the route without paying attention to a thing around them I wouldn't have to replant my flowers that your kind stepped on!" He so badly wanted to bite this boy's ankle. He was tempted. He was salivating at the mouth from anger, tongue licking his lips with fast, sharp motions. His tail violently whipped back and forth, his eyes narrowed and he bravely faced down the trainer.

Jacob glared at the arrogance of the pokemon. Did it not just hear his offer? Pathetic little rat. What great pokemon only cares about a little garden? Either way, doesn't it see that with the Bellsprout's help it could have an even larger garden? Whatever. Jacob didn't have time for this.
He rose to his feet, almost with a groan as though he were old and stiff, and shrugged. "I made my offer. It's up to you whether or not you take it." He turned to walk away, but did not quite yet. He was actually curious as to if the rat was willing to help the Bellsprout or if its own selfish desire for flowers would be pathetically overpowering and keep him whining for Jacob to find new flowers.

::Rattata:: C O L D !<"Bellsprouts are not yellow and blue flowers. They are pokemon. Do you see the difference human?"> he asked, using the word human as though it were a contagious disease. <"As a matter of fact, I have seen a prevalent amount of Bellsprout around here."> he snapped.
<"It's also you're pokemon! Why don't you take care of it like a real pokemon trainer! If you're as big and bad as you sound, it should be easy!"> he raged onward. This human really was starting to tick him the wrong way.
- Rattata refuses your offer. Find him the flowers, battle him to get him to shut up, shove the Bellsprout down his throat, or blow him off and walk away?
