Instead of reacting, the kid just...walked away? Vio leaned back on the table. Sam would probably just walk back over to her like some lovesick puppy. It was totally cliche and something that could, and would happen. Then again, Vio thought the world of herself, and everyone else around her was scum in her eyes.
When he did not come back, Vio furrowed her eyebrows. He was...he was exiting the Cafe! She looked around, finding others going ga ga~ over the ugly thing, and then it seemed like the rest was just giving her dirty stares. What? Vio had only voiced her opinion, even if it was to spite the Bagon's trainer. Sam kept walking.
Oh gosh, he really was leaving.
Vio set her cup down, and took a few faster steps forward, "Really? Are you that hurt that I have my own opinions of the thing?" Why was she even trying? Usually she would have let it go, sayonara~, let him be gone...but truly, she was just afraid of being alone, even if she didn't like the guy all that much..
"Are you really going to bring her out to the freezing cold?" Vio rose a brow. She raised a point. Even if she was all cuddly cuddly against him, it was freezing outside.

Sam had thought about it for a second and agreed with Vio... It wasn't a good idea to bring such a young infant out in the freezing cold. But he didn't want her to suffer more abuse from the trainer.
He quietly said in a very low voice: <"Better there then to suffer more verbal abuse from you... Your problem is with me, please do not take it out on my pokemon."> He said it in a very low but serious voice. He wasn't joking or smiling at all. He really cared about Bagon, it seriously meant the world to him and it really hurt that this girl insulted him.
<"I don't care that you have your own opinions. I just don't want her to hear words like that. Her parents left her, she was alone and was about to die had my parents not found her. I'm just trying to give her all the love she never had. I do not need someone to degrade her and belittle her.">
He said this a little louder with a serious face. He faced her and then went back to his Bagon. It was his prize and joy and he was not going to let it suffer some more verbal abuse. But he did not really want it to freeze outside so he had to think about it...
He quickly took off his scarf and wrapped it around Bagon. It wasn't much but it was a start. She embraced the scarf and began to wear it also. And since she was still so small and so young, it covered up a lot of her... This made the fan girls in the shop go even crazier.
He then looked her in the eye, but did not say anything. He just stood there and stared at her while his bagon hugged him. He began to cradle the Bagon instead of holding it like a football so it can hug him and rest on his arms without being a little awkwardly placed...

"Better there then to suffer more verbal abuse from you... Your problem is with me, please do not take it out on my Pokémon."
There was something in his voice, in the expression on his face, that made him serious, but Vio was unphased. Verbal abuse? Oh please, she has been dealing with worse ever since she was a little girl. Between the lack of parental involvement, and the relentless teasing of her brother, Vio knew she had to be tough. She blinked, as he continued.
"I don't care that you have your own opinions. I just don't want her to hear words like that. Her parents left her, she was alone and was about to die had my parents not found her. I'm just trying to give her all the love she never had. I do not need someone to degrade her and belittle her."
Hahah, so he was just babying and sugarcoating the thing? That's hilarious. Vio stifled a laugh, as she crossed her arms and rose an eyebrow, "That's a bit melodramatic, don't you think?" In order to be strong, you needed to look past the words and go through with all of the fights. Vio shook her head, "So you would rather her grow up to be spoiled and pampered? Eh, suit yourself. I'm not the one who has to deal with it."
"Don't you want her to be tough?" She cocked her head to the side. Vio could not fathom ever pampering any of her Pokemon, because then they would become complacent and work less. She shrugged, "Trust me, just fighting through the insults is a lot better in the long run." There were a lot of baggage in those words, but Vio was not going to make it all about her. At least not yet.

Sam began to listen to what Vio said and it did make a lot of sense. He could not baby his Bagon all the way through if it ever wanted to turn into a Salamence. Sure she should be loved with everything Sam can offer, but she also does need to face defeat sometimes and be used to it. Sam didn't want her first defeat to crush her as it will eventually come. No one can go their entire life without losing, not even a Salamence...
Sam began to think for a second and he realized that she had a very good point there, he became a little more open with Vio's words against his pokemon now although he was still careful of what she'd do. But he was calming down and he began to stand next to her to talk. He wanted to talk a little with her and also maybe take a seat and finish their conversation.
<"You raise a really good point. I never really thought of it that way... That doesn't make me too good of a parent."> He said while sticking out his tongue in a very boyish way. It was kind of to tease himself although some of the fan girls did find it adorable and did aww.
He then turned to Vio and began to converse with her, something he had not done at all since they met... He had known nothing about her, only her name...
<"You seem to be very knowledgeable in this situation. Rough childhood?">
It was not the best way to start off but he was genuine interested in listening to her about her life. He had told her some stuff about himself already, he didn't want to be the center of attention now and decided to shift the interest to her. Learn a little about her...

"You raise a really good point. I never really thought of it that way... That doesn't make me too good of a parent."
Vio finally gave the boy a smile. She loved being right, and getting others to see her way. There was a lot of life experience behind those blue, made up eyes of hers. Sam was just a kid, though. What did he know about life? She was four years older than him, and four years could make a hell of a lot of difference in maturity.
As she looked down at the Bagon, it sort of...started to grow on her, like her ugly little Lars had grown on her. It was not its appearance that made it seem adorable. It was her innocence. Unfortunately, innocence barely lasts. What a shame. This Bagon's life would be no different.
"You seem to be very knowledgeable in this situation. Rough childhood?"
Hah, he could say that. Vio walked back over to her cappuccino, then returned back and leaned backwards, cupping the still-warm drink in her hand, "The worlds full of inconsiderate shitheads," there was a pause. she was not excluding herself from this, "I just learned how to deal." Sort of. It was the easiest way to answer his question, at least. She still got angry and upset and hurt, but she knows not to get close. Derp, isn't that what she's doing now?
Vio shifted uncomfortably, "My childhood was pretty normal compared to most." That was true. She did not know many people who did not have a broken home. Although she loved the attention, she did not want the focus to be on her past. It brought back too many memories. "What about you? No traumatic experience to make you as bitchy as me?" She sipped the cappuccino, savoring the peppermint on her lips.

Sam listened to Vio talk about her past with all the (bad words) people and he kind of frowned for a minute. He was sad thinking of the cruel world that others lived in. He actually had a very great childhood himself, he had parents who loved him and still love him, he went to the academy and made good friends. He had the perfect life. Except that he had a multiple personality disorder... But besides that, it was perfect.
Sam looked at Vio for a second before speaking as he had to choose his words carefully... He didn't want to rub in his awesome childhood to her so he had to choose his words carefully.
<"My childhood was pretty normal. No traumatic moment at all. My parents are my idols and my best friends. I love them so much.">
He said before he quickly caught on to his mistake as it did sound like he was bragging... He did not want it to be about him all over again so he tried to throw the question back to about her.
<"Are you a pokemon trainer? Coordinator? Or do you have nothing to do with pokemon at all?">
He was curious as he wanted to see how her childhood connected to her interest in pokemon. For her not to even like Bagon and not find it cute, he kind of thought that maybe she wasn't a huge fan of pokemon...
Most people were, especially those in his academy. They all knew how rare Bagon was and how awesome it could become. She did not feel the same way, which meant to him that she might not have been a pokemon trainer long. If she was even a trainer at all.

"My childhood was pretty normal. No traumatic moment at all. My parents are my idols and my best friends. I love them so much."
Heh, so he was a momma and daddy's boy. Vio had to stifle a laugh, taking another sip of her cappuccino for good measure. The last thing she wanted to do was start laughing and spew coffee all over herself. She would smell good, but she did not want an unsightly stain. Before she could make some sort of snide comment, he had already thrown a question her way. Apparently he did not like to talk about himself.
"Are you a Pokémon trainer? Coordinator? Or do you have nothing to do with Pokémon at all?"
So now he was talking business, huh? Vio figured he was not going to battle her, especially with his little Bagon in arms, and they already made too much of a scene and acquired quite the audience. Vio shrugged, "I just got my starter, so I can't really call myself a trainer," she paused for a moment, "But for some reason, I had to come back here. The soy cappuccinos are to die for." Come back? Oh, right, she did not tell him. "Oh, I grew up here. In Verona City."
Giving him a small smile, she continued, "Let me guess, are you some sort of breeders apprentice? Or are you on your "journey", or whatever, too?"

Sam was surprised that she was from here. He wasn't from this region at all as he traveled here after the academy to start his own journey. She was different, she knew the surrounding, and this excited him a bit. And she had just gotten her first pokemon, he was very interested now as he really wanted to know what it was.
<"So what was your first pokemon? And how are you getting along with it? I remember my first pokemon... It had been my favorite for the longest time, but now it is my second favorite after Bagon. It has even gracefully accepted that role and became a parent figure for my Bagon too.">
Sam then realized he never told her who he was, or his thoughts about Verona... Hm where to start? He'll start with Verona... He guessed
<"You are from here? I'm not from this region at all so it's nice to meet someone who is. Hopefully you can show me around some day. I have explored a few places but there is so much more to see. This cafe is great though, the chamomile tea is delicious.">
He then went to the next question
<"I am a trainer just like you. I just recently started my journey too as I went to Professor Winter for my first pokemon. The one I had mentioned before. What was your first pokemon and where did you get it from?">
His boyish youth was showing now, he had not shown this much excitement at all in the conversation. And people began to turn away and lose interest quick. He started to seem like a nerd boy now...

"So what was your first Pokémon? And how are you getting along with it? I remember my first Pokémon..."
Sam went off about how Bagon was his favorite, and honestly Vio did not really care much. It was pretty obvious from how he was babying the darn thing. Were trainers really supposed to have favorites? It did not really occur to Vio that she would favor one pokemon over another, but she only had two at this point. Before she could answer, Sam shot her another question.
"You are from here? I'm not from this region at all so it's nice to meet someone who is. Hopefully you can show me around some day. I have explored a few places but there is so much more to see. This cafe is great though, the chamomile tea is delicious."
Vio blinked. It was strange, because she had never met anyone from a different region from Cheyenne. Suddenly, Sam seemed so much more cultured than Vio, and it sort of bugged her. She wanted to travel and see the world, but why did she stick here? Was it because it was convenient? Vio shrugged, "Yeah, I am. It's a pretty normal city masked in some fake italian products. Best part? The ghettos. That's where everything happens." It was true; everything in the main part of the city was so pristine and predictable. She loved the underground fashion, anyway.
"I am a trainer just like you. I just recently started my journey too as I went to Professor Winter for my first Pokémon. The one I had mentioned before. What was your first Pokémon and where did you get it from?"
He had asked her again, probably because she did not answer the first time. She took another sip, nearly finishing her cappuccino, "I went to the poke'lab, but I had some snot-nosed kid instead of Professor Winters give me my Pokemon. Took a lot of work, but I finally got my Gligar, Lars." She reminisced to a couple of days ago, when she had first gotten her pokemon. She practically had to fight for it. Sam seemed pretty interested in where this conversation was going, and Vio really had nothing else she needed to do, so she asked, "And you? Your first Pokemon?"

Sam found it very interesting that her first pokemon was Gligar because that was exactly his first pokemon. But before he answered that, he wanted to show her he was much more than just a geek who liked pokemon.
<"I should look out for the ghettos area then. Back where I am from we had a very nice park near the academy that I used to go with my friends. It was relaxing to get away from the academy rigors, and get away from pokemon there.">
He kept a mental image of this conversation. Maybe she could take him to the ghettos sometime as it'd be better to go with someone than go alone.
He quietly muttered this out loud, without realizing it... <"<Maybe we can go to the ghettos sometime... Better with someone than alone...">[/b]
Then Sam went to what he really wanted to talk about, pokemon.
<"Interesting that your first pokemon was Gligar. Funny thing, that was exactly my first pokemon. Gligar has been with me for a while now and has gotten much stronger, have you gotten all you can out of Metal Claw?">
He asked her, remembering it to be a special breed that knew an egg move...
He then quietly approached her again and said <"You should check out Articuno Vision. It is a Masquerade Ball and there is also a private room with a move tutor. I taught my Gligar Aqua Tail there to make him strong against other types of pokemon also...">
Maybe she would take his advice and maybe he'd run into her there when he returned...

"I should look out for the ghettos area then. Back where I am from we had a very nice park near the academy that I used to go with my friends. It was relaxing to get away from the academy rigors, and get away from Pokémon there."
Maaaybe Vio should have told him that the ghettos were not for little kids. She remembered going to the club and the local pub there, and having a blast, and she was basing her recommendations over hurtful memories. There were always fights and brawls, and people getting into trouble, but Sam had to grow up eventually, right? She kept the warning to herself. He could use the life experience.
"Maybe we can go to the ghettos sometime... Better with someone than alone..."
Vio blinked. Was he asking her out, or inviting her on a friendly adventure. Either way, the ghettos had too many painful memories for her to bare, and going with a guy would not make the situation better. She shook her head, "I have better things to do than babysit you." She gave him a small smirk before finishing off the rest of her cappuccino.
"Interesting that your first Pokémon was Gligar. Funny thing, that was exactly my first Pokémon. Gligar has been with me for a while now and has gotten much stronger, have you gotten all you can out of Metal Claw?"
So they had more in common than she thought, and she put down the cup as he listened to her question. Truth was, she was barely a trainer. She had not really battled with him much, other than what had happened on route one, but she did not want to talk about it. Again, horrible memories. Instead, she nodded, "Yeah, totally." She did not want to seem like some amateur compared to this fifteen year old. That was lame.
"You should check out Articuno Vision. It is a Masquerade Ball and there is also a private room with a move tutor. I taught my Gligar Aqua Tail there to make him strong against other types of Pokémon also..."
A MASQUERADE BALL?! How glorious! She had barely listened to anything else Sam had said, as visions of masks and big gowns, and glorious outfits flashed through her shining eyes. It was everything she had always dreamed of! Vio grinned, absolutely delighted that such a place existed, "I will definitely go, then. Sounds like a fantastic time." She clasped her fingers together, "Can I dress up for it?" It seemed like she completely disregarded his advice, and went straight for the fashion aspect. Ugh, she was such a girl!

Sam accepted the rejection although he took it a bit harder than he should have. He knew that he would most likely get rejected but he actually meant for it to be friendly more than anything else. And he was tired of how she was always babying him, just because he was fifteen doesn't mean he needed babysitting...
Sam was also a little interested in battling with her but she did not look like much a trainer and he did not really want to beat her and piss her off more, or lose to her and not hear the end of it... He just listened on until she asked him about the Masquerade Ball.
<"Of course you wear masks. What is a Masquerade Ball without masks and costumes?"> He said half jokingly. What did she take him for? An idiot. He might be 15 but he wasn't that naive.
He listened on to what Vio had to say but he soon began to lose interest either. He felt he was giving everything to the conversation and she was giving nothing. He just looked at her and hoped she would spark a conversation soon... Or else he was going to leave. When he first came in to the cafe, he had a lot of interest in Vio but as time went on the interest began to slowly disappear and slowly disappear even more...
He was tired of her teasing him and was not too fond of her personality even though she was pretty. He was just thinking of ending it here, and just moving on while he can. Sam really has to start hitting on girls his age, he began to think to himself.

"Of course you wear masks. What is a Masquerade Ball without masks and costumes?"
Derp. What was Vio thinking, asking such a ridiculous question, but to her it did not seem so silly. Her next question after this would be what sort of things would he reccomend to wear? Color? Texture? But then reality hit her once again. Sam was a fifteen year old male, and probably would never understand fashion. Ugh, he was still just a kid, even if he babied a newly hatched Bagon. Vio thought she saw something more mature in his persona, but apparently not.
Vio yawned a bit, covering her mouth with a hand. She decided to keep her closet fashion-maniac under wraps. She was getting in too deep, and needed out of this conversation pronto. "Oh, well look at the time. I must be meeting someone." She said, nonchalantly. There was some way she just needed to cut ties. He was a mere boy, but he could turn into something vicious one day, and she did not need the added trouble! "Adieu."
Truth was, she did not need to meet anyone, she just had no business being here. After being humiliated, then actually conversing with him, it was just bad news. Vio adjusted her tote bag so that the handle was higher up on her shoulder, she finally exited the cafe for real this time. She had bigger and older fish to fry with.
Vio also had to think of some dress ideas...there was no way in hell she was going to Articuno's Vision looking so much as frumpy!

Sam was happy that Vio decided to leave before him as he felt rude leaving before she did. He waved goodbye to her and he proceeded to make his exit also. He put his Bagon back in her pokeball after being nicely fed and decided to leave the cafe. It was sure an interesting night, one he would not forget at this time... He didn't now what to call Vio, he sort of like her but not as much anymore... He sort of felt she might be a friend or acquaintance but was really annoyed by her also.
He just decided to have her as "unknown" right now... He didn't know how he felt about her at all.
