Lan growled in annoyance as his Crunch attack missed yet again. This was irritating. If he didn't land another blow soon, he'd be hit by one himself and, odds were, probably not be able to get back up afterwards. Then, suddenly, the Torchic just seemed to...disappear. Looking around, he couldn't seem to find her...at least, not until he felt a sharp pain on his back. With a loud roar of pain, he was smashed down hard onto the ground, the Night Slash having struck him from behind. He rolled over and looked up at the Torchic. He realized that he was on his back at the Torchic's feet, just like before. If he didn't get up now, he'd be at the mercy of her Scratch attacks, just like he had been when he had taken the most damage in this battle. But unfortunately, he was still hurt from the Night Slash, and he was stuck on his back. He wasn't yet finished off completely...but he was definitely getting there. Regardless, he tried to let out a Growl as menacing as his condition would let him, and then he tried to slash his claws up at the Torchic with his own Scratch attack. But that was the best he could do for now. He was still on the ground at Torchic's feet. Hit by Night Slash! Growl had no effect! (ATK cannot drop any further) Used Growl and Scratch! On his back again On the brink of defeat [ATK: -6, dodges: 2]

The Growl had no effect on Torchic, she could barely hear the lizard over her heavy breathing. She then felt a small pain in her leg as the small lizard scratched at her leg with its claw. She jumped into the air and started to use Scratch on the small lizard, again a gravity powered Scratch attack. If it hit this would hopefully finish the fight. Nicholas then said “This fight is over, whether you realize it or not, your Charmander won’t have the power to go on any more, it is too battered, I suggest you put it back in its Pokéball for its own safety.” Nicholas then watched the battle unfold before his eyes.
- The Growl had no effect on Torchic.
- The Scratch did very little damage.
- Torchic uses Scratch.

Lan looked up at the Torchic as she stood over him. He saw the Torchic lift her talons into the air and come down hard at him. He let out a loud roar of pain as the Fire-type's claws raked against his stomach. He had had it...he couldn't take anymore. As much as he would have liked to keep fighting, he just couldn't do it. He simply lay on the ground at the Torchic's feet, completely worn out, getting helplessly clawed by his opponent. Eventually, his head fell to the ground and he passed out from exhaustion. Tyro sighed. It looked like this Nick guy was right. His Charmander was finished. And that last action proved it. He lifted his Pokéball into the air and called out, "Lan, you did a great job on your own. Return!" The Pokéball shot out a red light at the Charmander and hit him. Lan, who had been still on his back, with Torchic standing on top of his stomach, disappeared into the red and white orb, and he put the object away. "You're strong, I'll give you that." Tyro said. He didn't really like this guy much, but he had to admit this guy's strength. "I expect we'll be seeing each other again soon. Count on it." With that, he turned around and made to leave the room to give Lan the medical attention he needed and deserved. ::Charmander:: Hit by Scratch! Fainted! Level up! Torchic: +2, Lan: +1

Nick Nodded in agreement, he knew that he’d meet the man and his Charmander named Lan again, Nicholas then raised his Torchic’s Pokéball and said “Torchic Return!” He then looked at the Pokéball and said “Torchic you did wonderful, you have earned yourself a nice long rest.” He then shrunk the ball and put it away. He then turned and left the area.
