The Pokeball began to rock and shake from left to right. Matthew was beginning to worry. Would he be able to catch it as easily as he caught his Psyduck at the ranger station. He began to wonder what if the buneary broke out and what if it ran away after getting out. He would've been so dissapointed in himself. Helium looked at the pokeball as well as it rocked and stirred in motion. The the pokeball halted and made a noise.
Ding!
They had made a successful capture! Matthew was overcome with joy as he glomped his Drifloon and smiled, kissing its rubbery cheek before running to the pokeball. He picked it up and smiled. "A buneary. What will I call it? Silver? Yeah, that seems good. Silver is a metal I like and silver is used for medals so why not name a buneary silver. What do you think Helium?"
The Drifloon nodded and floon'd as Matthew resized the sphere and placed it on his belt. "Thats another team-mate."

route one,-!
It was snowing more now. The frail crystals that fell from the air were almost perfect; it was like thin glass carvings were falling from above. It look beautiful but there was one Pokemon that hated this weather and it was hiding in a tree; a Hoppip. ::hoppip:: <"Stupid winter. Why does it always have to be so cold? Can't we get warm snow or something?"> said the Cottonweed Pokemon. It was shaking from the cold and looked like there were small icicles growing on its leaves. Its breathing was quite quick and its heart was racing to try to provide warmth. ::hoppip:: <"I can't fly either... Looks like I'm just gonna freeze out here,"> said the Hoppip rather weakly.
- Hoppip is stuck in a tree and it can't fly. Intervene or ignore?

Snow. It was a wonderful thing, but it was a double edged sword. It was beautiful and was a great thing to have fun in, but once people were on the road in their cars or trying to get to work, it was hell. He loved it and hated it at the same time. He sighed and returned his tired Drifloon to her pokeball and smiled. "Take a rest," he told the sphere.
He had just taken out another sphere, another companion when he spotted a Hoppip. It seemed to be stuck in the tree? "What the..." Matthew looked up at the little thing and nearly began to cry. The poor thing. He would have to at least try to get it down.
"Don't worry. I'm going to help you!" Matthew resized the pokeball in his hand and released the Ralts from inside. It was an new pokemon, never had he spoken to it before. He knew what it was because he picked it, but he still hadn't gave it a name. Maybe the battle would help him decide a name. "Okay Ralts. I have no clue what your going to be called yet so please just bare with me. Use some psychic mumbo jumbo to get the hoppip down please?"
The Ralts turned her head and looked at Matthew. Scanning the human in the process. His emotions are so clear, yet so clouded, she thought to herself but nodded slowly and turned around. She raised her head and tried to focus, using some sort of psychic move to grab onto the Hoppip and pull it out from the tree. The poor thing.

A blue aura slowly gathered around the pink cottonweed's soft body as the leaves atop his head spun like a windmill in the tempest. He began to worry that he was garnering frostbite, but it was just the psychic energy lifting him to safety. Floating out of the tree with a terrified whimper, he was placed at the bottom, where he hugged the tree with his stubby arms. >T-thank you,< he squeaked hesitantly, shivering in fear and relief now that he was back on solid ground. ::hoppip::

"T-thank you," the hoppip said and Matthew was shocked. "What in the name..." He looked to his Ralts who was being so giddy, smiling her arse off. She was translating every world mentally to Matthew so he would understand. She was comunicating with both mentally and was laughing inside and was smiling outside. "Your translating?" Matthew looked to his Ralts and smiled through the question. The psychic pokemon just replied with a nod, amazingly proud with herself. Matthew continued with his smiling and bent down and rubbed the snow off the hoppip's green leaves and smiled. "Are you okay?"

<I-I'm okay,>Hoppip whimpered, trying to sound strong though her shivering body betrayed otherwise. Hoppip flinched as the human touched the top of his leaf, though relaxing slightly as he realized the guy was only brushing off the snow. <I-I wish I could repay you,>the Hoppip said, smiling gratefully up at the Trainer. Then an idea popped inside his head and he quickly shuffled toward the the base of the tree where he had been stuck. Shuffling through the snow, he uncovered a blue berry which he offered to Matthew. <Here. I found this earlier before I got stuck in the tree. You can have it,>he said, holding up the Oran Berry. Hoppip is giving you an Oran BerryTake it?

"Here. I found this earlier before I got stuck in the tree. You can have it," the Hoppip said to the boy. She handed a blue berry out to the trainer and Matthew smiled. It was so kind, yes it had helped the pokemon out from the tree but he never expected to be repayed. It was an act of kindness but he smiled and thanked the Hoppip for his act of kindness. "Thank you," the trainer said as he reached out to the take the berry but before he knew it the berry was up in the air and within a second it swooshed towards the Ralts who caught it and smiled. "What? I got him down. I think I deserve it." Matthew laughed at the psychic pokemon and playfully told her that he would speak to her later about it and not to eat it.
"So, erm, Hoppip. I was wondering if you erm... wanted to, you know, tag along with us? I don't have a grass type pokemon and you are cool and Jumpluffs are really pretty." Matthew chewed his lip as he tried to convince the pokemon to come along with him on his journey.

OOC: The Hoppip is male.
The Hoppip was quite surprised of the request. He had never even thought of something like that before. However, anything was better than being outside in the cold all alone. He thought about it but wasn't 100% sure. There was always a way to decide, though. ::hoppip:: <"I-I don't know... M-Maybe we should b-battle b-but it's w-way t-too cold out h-here for that,"> said the Cottonweed Pokemon. It was still shivering quite a bit and its leaves were still rendered immobile from the snow. He had nowhere to go at this point, either. Just a little while ago, his prescience said that he would just fall asleep out here which was an extremely dangerous thing to do. If that happened, then he would have just melded with the snow and forgotten...
- Hoppip is still freezing... What would you like to do?

Matthew tried to think what he could do for the poor thing who was shivering from the cold. He pursed his lips as he tried to discover a plan to get the pokemon warm. He didn't have any fire pokemon to make a fire which was his first thought so that created a stir. He bit his lower lip. What can I do he thought as he wiped more snow from the hoppips green leaves. He decided to take of his jacket and place it lightly on the hoppip so that it wasn't covering him completely but only trying to keep him warm and stop him from being pelted with snow. "That's the best I can do," he said to the cottonweed pokemon as he sighed from failure "and it's too cold for you to battle. You've probably been out here for a while with nothing to eat or to keep you warm."

The Hoppip looked up in surprise to see the Trainer so kindly give up his jacket. Hoppip's face popped out of the jacket's collar while the rest of his little body was covered by the jacket. Instantly, the Hoppip felt safe and warm; he even stopped shivering. <Thank you,>"Hoppip squeaked gratefully, snuggling up against the jacket, welcoming the warmth it provided. <Is this what it's like to be with a Trainer?> Hoppip wondered. Many Wild Pokemons have always ranted about how humans were evil and they were cruel to their captured Pokemon, yet this particular Trainer had kindly given up his jacket to him. <Perhaps they're not so bad afterall...>After a few heartbeats, the Hoppip looked up at the Trainer and said tentatively., <I guess I wouldn't mind going with you.>Hoppip is offering to join

"I guess I wouldn't mind going with you," the Hoppip said as the Ralts translated it into his head. Matthew smiled a wide grin and pulled out a pokeball, just your average red and white pokeball resizing it and tapping it lightly off the hoppips head hoping that it would go in and stay in the pokeball.

The Hoppip smiled as it was hit by the Poké Ball. The Poké Ball opened up and absorbed the Cottonweed Pokemon into it and closed. It fell onto the ground gently and shook a few times before ultimately closing. The Hoppip was caught! ::hoppip:: Level: 7 Gender: Male Ability 1: Chlorophyll Ability 2: Leaf Guard Attacks: Splash, Synthesis, Tail Whip

Matthew lifted the pokeball and placed it towards his pokédex. He had added the setting of checking the pokeball's contents after it has been captured and what the pokemon knew and such. "Splash. Syntesis. Tail Whip." The Pokedex went quiet and so did Matthew. He bit his lip in confusion and tried to think of a way to train his pokemon. If he had a rare candy he could use it and maybe it would learn a new move, maybe he should've battled it before to see if it knew anything. He regreted capturing the pokemon, but he would persevere and train it none the less. He placed the pokeball in his pocket and searched for another pokemon.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=2] Wild Lotad | [atrb=width,300]
Walking along the route was a Lotad, happily humming to herself as he found something that was shiny. And how she loved shiny things! On her head was a Pokeball. It was a bit wet but it appeared as it could still work. She was so happy to find something useful. It was very much going in her collection at home. Then, she wasn't watching where she was going so she tripped and fell on the ground. The Pokeball rolled off her head and stopped before Matt. She scrambled ahead and looked at him. <Excuse me, do you mind giving me that please?> she asked.

Matt stood up and smiled, breeding in some fresh air and thinking about what he would encounter next. Maybe something amazing and rare like an Arceus but his mind pft himself and he turned the logic on in his brain. Maybe something more like a Chatot. He had heard about them being around this area and abot them being rare. He liked Chatot. They were musical and can be talented when they wanted to be. Tud. Matthew let his head drop only to see a pokeball on the ground. He bent down to pick it up and examine it. He resized it and opened it but nothing was inside. He shrugged and thought about putting it in his pocket when he saw a lotad appear. It spoke to him but he couldn't fully understand, but thankfully two and two went together in his brain and something clicked. "Oh it's yours?" Matthew bent down and handed the Lotad the sphere and smiled. "Here have it. I have plenty."

The Lotad was pleased that the Trainer returned her Poké Ball to her. She immediately had a good impression of him as most humans are thought to be conniving and ruthless. At least that's what the gossip around here has been. She put the Poké Ball and put it back on her head like a Spoink and its pearl. ::lotad:: <"Thank you, mister! I was worried if would roll away into a pile of snow where I probably would have lost it,"> said the Water Weed Pokémon. She then decided to go on her merry way with the Poké Ball on her head.
- Lotad thanks you but then walks away. Ignore or intervene?

Matthew smiled as the Lotad spoke, but he still hadn't a single idea what the pokemon was saying. He nodded and continued to smile in hope that the pokemon would catch on and understand that this human couldn't speak Lotadian, the native language of Lotads. When the Lotad turned away and began to walk Matthew jumped. No he wanted this pokemon. He followed, quickly moving his feet to keep up with the pokemon. "Battle me!" He took out a pokeball and called out his Drifloon. "Helium, use astonsih!"

route one,-!
The Lotad's day was starting out just fine before this. She was just strolling about with the Poké Ball on her head as if it was some sort of fetish, or magical object. She knew what it was but she really liked it. It was just fun to have. Though she normally was a butterfingers, she was trying her best to overcome such a small flaw. With the Poké Ball on her head, she went out gallivanting by herself as she was quite bored of the snow. She soon became hungry and had a borborgym that could be heard from her little body. She went looking for a quick bite to eat when she dropped the Poké Ball and the Trainer she encountered returned it to her. Now she was in for a fight out of nowhere? That just seemed like a downright malfeasance! How could he do that? ::lotad:: <"Aah! What the heck are you doing?!"> she cried. She was shocked by the Astonish attack that came from the Trainer's Pokemon. She was startled enough to fall back on her behind with the Poké Ball falling into a pile of snow. <"Now you've done it!"> said the Water Weed Pokémon with anger in her voice. She let out a loud Growl before looking down at the ground for a moment to hide her face. She then looked back up at Helium with a scary-looking face to try and scare the living hell out of him.
- Lotad was hit by Astonish!
- Lotad used Growl on Helium! Helium's Attack fell!
- Lotad used Astonish on Helium!

::drifloon:: The Drifloon was growled at by the opponent and Matthew bit his lip. The Drifloon quivered from the fear that had been bestowd on her from the growl. It had lowered her attack and she could do nothing about it except continue on fighting. Next she was suprised to see the same move she had used being used back on her! It was shocking and suprising and amazing all at once. She jumped from the sight buy was still able to continue on. "Astonish and Minimize this time Helium." The Drifloon shrinked herself before lunging herself forward towards the pokemon she was facing, the lotad. She shrieked and blew up her balloon at the Lotad.

Astonish made the poor Pokémon flinch and tense up. It was too much for her, this drifloon was annoying and a loose cannon! The sound was like some sort of borborygm, loud and ear-piercing. She shuddered, hating this fight already. <"Meanie, that hurts!"> This lotad took back what she thought earlier, this trainer was a meanie! He just wanted to earn her trust and capture her, just like all the other trainers did! It was a malfeasance if she ever had seen one before; a tragedy! She wasn't going to let this trainer capture her, no way! Mood: Angry Lotad flinched!
