Atrum Vulpes smiled as the cold wind ruffled his hair and bandana. His Meowth shivered next to him, as it bounced along the road. This was his first -real- step into the world of adventure, after having obtained his awesome Kangaskhan from the Ranger Station. He might have to use it, soon - and he was looking forward to the moment. My first battle!
At that moment, the clouds above decided to open up again. With a boom of thunder, rain began to pour down from the heavens. His Meowth yelped, and covered his eyes - cats hated getting wet. Atrum sighed and returned the Pokémon to his ball for the time being, before doing up his shirt and coat and moving onwards. He wasn't a big hater of rain, sure, but it could be a little dryer on the first day of his adventure.

The torrential rains had caught a number of small and relatively defenseless creatures by surprise. A pack of Rattata scurried into their nests, a mother Sentret coiled her tail around her young baby, and a pair of Spearow huddled into a tall tree for warmth.
One pokemon, however, was not so fortunate. There was a streak of blue, an odd high-pitched screeching noise, and the flapping of wings. Nocturnal by nature, it was definitely the wrong time for a lone Zubat to be stricken with insomnia.

The beginner trainer noticed the Zubat flying around, disturbed by the rain. He smiled slightly; the poor thing was supposed to be asleep at this hour! Zubat's were also one of his case-studies in biology, an example used because of it's obvious differences to most 'day-time' Pokemon. He could remember some of the facts - it didn't have eyes as it saw and communicated through... waves? It made a high-pitched noise which bounced off of objects and returned, making an image. Echolocation!
Atrum, fascinated by such a Pokemon, decided he wanted one. And what better opportunity to get a Zubat than now? He wouldn't call out his Meowth to fight it, though, as the cat would probably hate him forever for forcing him to get wet AGAIN. And, the Torkoal was a fire-type, so that wouldn't work, either...
Looked like he'd get to test out his Kangaskhan, then. He pulled out the Pokeball containing the large Pokemon, and pulled it back in his right hand. God, Atrum was filled with excitement! He then threw forwards with his right, and pressed the button in the middle. The capsule popped open, and the beam of energy shot out again, reforming in the shape of his new Kangaskhan.
The kangaroo-like Pokemon turned towards him, and narrowed it's eyes. A small twitch formed at the corner of her mouth, like a concealed smile, before it turned to the Zubat. "Kangaskhan, use your.. Comet Punch?" He shouted, unsure if he'd got the right attack.

The Zubat was flying peacefully through the sky when BAM, these fists came out of no where and slammed into his body. He flattered out of the sky and landed on the ground painfully. He got back into the air and shook his head. <What was that for? Was I flying in your air or something?> The Zubat exclaimed. He then flew at the large Pokemon and atempted to place his teeth on it and suck some energy out of her.

The Kangaskhan stood and took the bite, unleashing a roar but not flinching. "Kanga, give 'im another round of Comet Punch!" The young trainer shouted again. After this round, it would probably be a good time to use a Pokeball. He also realised that it would be good to distinguish his Pokemon from others; after this fight he'd name them all.

::zubat:: zubat. male Before the blue and purple bat could do anything another fist collided with his wing sending him fluttering about looking for someplace to hide from this beast. Why must pokemon these days be so violent, he thought to himself as she tried to find a way around this big thing that was called 'Kanga' by it's trainer. The Zubat flapped his wings and puffed his cheeks trying to find the pokemon by using a sound wave. She screeched a bit to try and find the big pokemon; sending waves of sound only to be bounced back when they collided and meleded with the creature. The susurrous sounds where the thing that confused the pokemon the most. He could hear the sounds coming from everywhere which interupted with him trying to find his opponent. Was it's trainer aiding the pokemon by being loud? Talk about mean. Bravado was something his mother had told him. It was her phrase to remind him to be strong and courageous. He took a deep breath in and lunged to where he thought the pokemon was, using leech life in the process.

Atrum grinned, unaware of the Zubat's distress. "Alright, Kanga, dodge this attack!" He yelled, and the kangaroo Pokemon complied by doing a forwards' dive roll - towards the Zubat. The bat Pokemon would, once again, succesfully take a nibble out of his Kangaskhan. The large mother roared, and pounded it's chest. Atrum sighed, before beginning to root through his bag, looking for one of the basic Pokeballs. He wasn't sure, but if he kept on hitting the Pokemon he might hurt it more than he wanted to.
Pulling out a Pokeball, which expanded to fit his hand, he cocked it back in his right hand. Relying on the Zubat being satisfied with his bite, he would throw the Pokeball with precision, aimed at the bat's head.

The Zubat was taken by complete surprised when the Kangaskhan rolled forwards. What in the world was it thinking of doing? Squish him to death? He didn't care, he was going to win this battle anyways.
He kept flying overhead, and used Leech Life again, hoping to suck more of it's energy out. Although, towards the beginning of his move, he felt something slam against him, and he was suddenly caught in complete darkness.
Although, that darkness was too strong, even against his feeble attempts to break free, and was sucsessfully caught.

"Alright, yeah!" Atrum roared, punching his fist into the air as rain spattered against his white jacket. The Kangaskhan pounded her chest, roaring into the sky, before quickly falling silent. The rain faded away.. as small flakes of snow began to descend from the sky. It landed on her nose, and she shook her head. Atrum studied this behaviour; Kanga, it seemed, was not a fan of the cold. The human smiled; animals were so interesting!~ Then something moved in her pouch.
Atrum stumbled back, eyes widenning. Obviously, he'd thought the pouch was there for the mother's young - but she already had one?! What, were Kangaskhans hatched with babies? The young Kanga popped it's head out of her pouch, and yawned, before turning to Atrum and regarding him with misty eyes. The mother turned to the trainer, and gave him a cool look. "You did good, Kanga!" He said, with a smile. The Kanga looked at him glumly, before turning away.
Secretly, she was smiling. But she would not show the human any emotion. For a while, anyway.

destiny, part II
On a tree nearby, there seemed to be a strange round object sticking the trunk of the tree. Though the rest of it was covered in snow, this object was red with black dots all over it. Perhaps it was just some sort of strange fetish; it certainly looked like it could be some kind of weird magical object. Everything was quiet now and that was when this object suddenly fell off of the tree trunk. ::ledyba:: <"Oh crap!"> cried the Ledyba. Apparently, it was just a Pokemon! The poor thing couldn't get a very firm grip on the frozen tree. He always cursed himself for being a butterfingers but at least he had a legitimate reason for it. He landed in the snow but didn't come out of the pile. Did he get frozen inside...?
- Ledyba fell off the tree and into a pile of snow! Investigate or ignore?

After walking forwards slightly and picking up the Pokeball containing his new Batty (although his Pokemon might not be a fan of the new name), the trainer moves on through the forest. After a while he noticed the trees becoming whiter, snow settling on the green leaves. The trainer notices a small, ladybug-like pokemon fall off of a tree and into a pile of snow. Atrum raised an eyebrow and quickly ran towards the pile
"'Sup, little fella?" The human said, with a kind grin. He places his hands around the creature, noting how cold it was, and then grinned. He removed from his belt the Pokeball contained Torkoal, and released the fire-type beside the cold bug. The heat given off from the fire-turtle should warm up the bug-type...
His Torkoal glared. Why did he have to be out in the cold?

destiny, part II
The Ledyba was shivering all over when he fell into the snow. He was trying to fly away to another area when it began to snow a lot so he decided to stop and rest. The easiest way would have been to huddle up to a tree and warm up in one place with his wings closed. There was no room for gallivanting in the winter. However, he began to feel heat coming from somewhere. He got up and saw that there was a Torkoal right next to him!
<"W-Where in the world did you come from?!"> he asked. He was startled by the presence of a Fire-type Pokémon in this cold weather. He was thankful for the warmth, though. He actually forgot his question and sat next to the Coal Pokémon while rubbing his arms.
<"You're like a furnace! I like that,"> said the Five Star Pokémon. He looked up at the Trainer and smiled. <"Thanks, mister. I thought I was going to freeze out here. I'm such a butterfingers.">
- Ledyba is thankful for your help. Continue to interact?

The Ledyba seemed to be trying to make contact with the human. Others might be able to understand, but Atrum didn't. However, from the ladybugmon's expression, he safely assumed it was a thank you. "I'm not sure if that's what you said, but any time. Now stay safe, and try to stay warm." He then scratches his Torkoal's head, before putting the fire-type back in it's Pokeball.
He turns away from the bug Pokemon, and begins to walk. He wasn't really interested in catching bug Pokémon unless they really stood out from the rest. However, he was pleased with himself; he'd probably made the wild Pokemon's day, for a while at least - moments of warmth are better than none at all.

Minutes would pass as Atrum traveled down the road, in fact, those minutes would bleed into several hours with no encounters. Perhaps it was the chill out, or the time of year, but it seemed that Pokémon just did not want to be outside today. It wasn't until the trainer was just about to cross over a small bridge that he saw his next opportunity at a catch. It looked like a weasel or maybe an otter of some kind, sitting casually on the railing of the bridge. The orange fur of his face was smeared with brown as he shoveled chunks of a pilfered donut into his mouth. Buizel was having a good day. Some poor sap had left their bag on the ground while they'd been trying to catch some Pidgeys and that had left him a fabulous window to steal all the tasty snack he had, and some other crap. Buizel perked up when he heard the approach of the trainer. Now he was a little worried. So gorged on food, Buizel would have trouble escaping. He'd have to make a deal. 'Look man, I know I look like a prized catch and all, but I'm a fat and lazy Pokémon. Might as well call me Snorlax. If you walk on by, I'll give you this in trade.' The river otter talked fast, but in his language it would not have made a lick of sense to Atrum, until of course he pulled out a slightly wet pokeball. 'Go on, take it and leave me alone.' ::buizel:: Take the pokeball or battle Buizel... and then take the pokeball?

Atrum notices the little Buizel waddling towards him, and crouches down. "Hey there, fella!" He says, before noticing it was yapping at him. He raised an eyebrow, as the Pokemon produced a Pokeball.
Now, Atrum's thought process was something like this; I wonder where the hell that Pokemon produced that Pokeball from, then, Oh I see, he must be carrying around that Pokeball for if a trainer were to come past. He must be freezing, poor thing, so he wants someone to 'catch' him so he can stay warm! Atrum smiles and nods, picking up the Pokeball. Then, standing back up, he cocked the Pokeball back in his hand, before flinging it straight at the Buizel. He didn't think it'd put up much of a fight, so why would he 'weaken' the Pokemon beforehand?

Wild Buizel { Buizel } Breaks out of Pokeball Attempts to waddle away. Let it?
<Wait wait wait don't do that--> He waved his hands in front of his chest in a protective manner, but the deed was done. The Pokeball smacked him in the arm, and opened up on him. As soon as it closed tight, he put up one crazy fight, which was odd for such a lazy Pokemon. Living with a trainer was not the lazy lifestyle he craved, so basically, be not lazy now, then be lazy forever later. It was a good plan, so why not execute it?
He broke free with a couple of rams on the sphere, just enough to get him loose. The Buizel appeared annoyed with the trainer when he came out, and instead of being violent, just sighed and face palmed. Clearly this wasn't going anywhere, and he should leave now.
His long orange tails trailed behind him in the snow, making double indentations as he waddled along at his own pace. He refused to look at the human, trying to send a clear message that he wanted to be left alone in peace.

Atrum raises an eyebrow as the Buizel broke out of the Pokeball, and shot him a glare. It took him a second to realise he'd mis-interpreted the Pokemon's 'giving' as wanting to be caught; in actual fact, it was a gift so that Atrum could leave him be. The Pokemon trainer scratches the back of his head; on the one hand, he felt slightly guilty about trying to catch the Pokemon - and on the other, he wanted to catch the darn thing.
"I'm sorry, little fella, but that just stoked my appetite!" He said with a small smile, before pulling out one of the Pokeballs from his belt. He opens up the small capsule, and a beam of silvery light shoots out, before his Meowth appeared. It yawned, before turning to Atrum and offering a smile.
"Meowth, use Scratch! We need to weaken this Buizel." The Pokemon nodded, before rushing forwards towards the otter-like Pokemon and extended its claws from its paws, aiming a swipe at it's face.

The Buizel was too busy trying to leave that he didn't even notice that the Trainer had sent out one of his Pokémon to attack. When he saw the Meowth, it was too late. He was scratched right across the face! The pain made him jump away in surprise. He then shook his head to ignore the pain and glared at the Scratch Cat Pokémon. Did the Trainer not get the message?
<"What did I just say? First you turn down the offer and try to capture me right then and now you're going to fight me? You're gonna regret that decision,"> said the angry Buizel. He used Growl on the Meowth before firing a SonicBoom at his opponent.
- Buizel was hit by Scratch!
- Buizel used Growl and then SonicBoom!

Oskar's ears go back at the growl, and he crouches, hairs raised. The cat was then knocked of it's feet by the Sonic Boom, skidding across the ground. It tumbled over, before picking itself back up and hissing. "Hang on, Meowth! Give 'im a Growl, and then another Scratch!" He shouted, aiming to negate the loss of Attack would have given his cat Pokémon.
The Meowth naturally gave the wild Pokémon a nasty growl, teeth bared, before rushing in and taking another swipe at the water-type.

::Buizel:: He, naturally, hesitated at the growl. But, by hesitated he meant cringed a little. Only to be met by an outstretched paw, with claws out, raking across the top of his head. It hurt.
<"Ow!"> he muttered before mimicking exactly what the Meowth did, and growled in his face too. He did that without using the move mimic, and just used growl, bending down and baring his teeth in it's face, giving a low pitched sound, before stepping a little ways away. If he were to use his next move, he had to be standing away from it.
As soon as he was a few steps away, he turned around and whipped his tail at the cat pokemon thing, creating white streams of energy that seemed to head in it's direction. Also called Sonicboom.
- Buizel cringed from Growl!
- Buizel was hit by Tackle!
- Buizel used Growl!
- Buizel used Sonicboom!
