It helped hearing the words right out of the lady's mouth, nodding a little as her point brought some comfort to him. So he was not actually annoying her as much as he thought. The hum of the bus continued to fill in the gaps between their conversation, feeling like right now it was an acceptable time to sit back and relax. His eyes glanced down at the streets, estimating how long it would take to get to where they had to go. This bus ought to take them straight to the nicer parts of Verona, though it stopped very often to let people off and on. "I probably couldn't catch you either." It was nice that it never ended up being something like that, since he probably wouldn't even have bothered to chase after her. Sierra really was accident prone though. If she did run off around here, what would even happen? For her sake, it probably was for the best that they stuck together while enduring the Verona Ghettos. Even now, they were placed in an awkward situation as their laps were being used as a substitute bed for a complete stranger. Susumu debated what he could try, but Sierra was just on it. Using her purse like a baseball bat, she whacked the guy clean on the head. "Ow..." Susumu winced when he heard the collision, leaning back into his chair as if he was worried the baggage would nail him in the face as well. The guy at least woke up and got off of them, leaving Susumu staring withheld breath until he sidled up back to his original spot. Releasing his withheld breath, he looked thankfully at Sierra for her reflexes. "You nailed him." He chuckled, so glad that they didn't have to deal with that for much longer. "You uh, have practice in attacking people with your purse kung-fu?" He grinned at her, shifting away from her a little so they wouldn't have to be uncomfortably close together. He was looking at her though; body slightly turned her way as he expected some kind of joke to be thrown back his way.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n "Nope. You wouldn't." Sierra affirmed immediately, grinning to herself. She had confidence in her running abilities, and honestly, from what she'd seen of Susumu's running, it couldn't measure up. If she wanted to, she could just bolt away from him and never see him again -- although that thought brought a sour feeling to the pit of her stomach. Pfft, would she really run away from one of the only friends she made in this desolate region? Such a silly thing. Then the awkward lap bed thing happened, Sierra whapped him on the head, and Susumu seemed generally impressed. Susumu's 'ow' gave her even more satisfaction. Yeah, even she could feel how much that hurt just based on that sound. Playfulness dancing in her eyes, she returned the glance at Susumu as he complimented her and threw that joke at her. Chortle chortle. "You kidding? I'm the master of purse kung-fu." She played along with a smirk. She was about to speak again when suddenly the bus pulled to a stop, tugging Sierra off the seat slightly until physics decided to be amiable and allow her to rest against the seat again. The door opened with a huffing noise, and some passengers, including the prostitute sitting next to her, stood up and walked out of the bus. Sierra blushed madly when she saw that the lady's badonkadonk was slightly exposed in her outfit, and she quickly held up her purse up in front of Susumu's eyes as if she was one of those parents in the movie theater with their kid when the kissing scene came on.

THE MASTER OF PURSE KUNG-FU? Now that was something to truly fear these days. Susumu scoffed at how she easily agreed to it, almost a bit nervous to see if she'd use any of her super stylish purse moves on him. Now that was a terrifying thought, especially with the unknown amount of items that could be stashed in a purse. It was a dead man's land, definitely not something his mind could comprehend. Like how a girl could not touch the MAN CAVE, a guy should not go anywhere near a woman's purse. He thought that she was going to say something, but ufff! That sudden lurch forward was going to be a hassle. His brain was doing flips from the sudden stop, and suddenly Susumu realized why he didn't take the bus these days. It was almost as if the bus driver was stopping this recklessly on purpose, making him feel somewhat dizzy as he tried to regain his composure. Ugh, how much longer was this going to take? Out of nowhere, the woman next to Sierra got up and started to head down the aisle. It was a natural reaction to look up towards the source of the sound, and he only managed to get a confused glimpse of some booty bouncing out of her clothes until something blocked his vision completely. "W-What?" He stuttered at first, mind not registering that the eyes saw as he gave Sierra a fake annoyed look. Not that he was annoying, but more of a 'Hey! What was that for?' kind of thing. "Really, Sierra? Reaaaally?" Once it clicked in his head on why that happened, he grinned at her as if he had some of a plot running around in his head. "Do I have to do that to you too?" He teased, wondering if she'd be able to take what she gave out. Now this would be funny for the rest of the ride. Upon the next bus stop, several shifty looking teenagers wandered onto the bus with golden grills in their mouths and their pants on the ground. Practically. Dark red boxers were revealed as the punk kids, around age 15 to 17, wandered through the aisle. Several passengers shifted about, looking the other way to avoid getting involved with their kind. Naturally this was Susumu’s chance to retaliate, holding his hand in front of Sierra’s eyes so she couldn’t see their pants dragging against the ground like lazy Slakoths lollygagging on the beach. One of the boys sat where the stripper was sitting, while the others perched themselves in the row directly in front of them. Now this looked sort of odd, especially with the way they kept looking around. Tough guy next to Sierra took notice of her and visibly checked her out, being completely obvious about it. Hand away from Sierra’s eyes, Susumu quietly glared at him for doing so. Now that was just plain disrespectful. The hell was wrong with this generation? "Hey baby, how you doin'?" The boy finally said, taking a break from oogling at Sierra's chest as he gave her what he thought was his best flirty grin. His friends snickered quietly to themselves and exchanged looks while watching, definitely an intimidating thing to deal with. Susumu wasn't sure if he should say something or get involved, but he figured he should at least see how Sierra tried to handle it first. Personally he just wanted to move seats or something. These guys were already pissing him off.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra gave a sheepish grin and lowered her purse once the lady was starting down the stairs. "Nothing!" She at first tried to counter with, but darn. He knew what she was doing. A knowing grin crossed his face and she anticipated a retaliation. "Nooo?" She answered, but it evidently had no effect. New passengers entered the bus; Sierra could see a few people from the window walking. She averted her gaze forward again and glimpsed only a second's worth of many teenage boys walking around for seats before her vision was eclipsed by Susumu's hand. "'Eeeyyy." She giggled, trying to push Susumu's hand away with one of her own as she grinned with amusement. She knew she deserved this, really. Once she could see again, she realized that they were now all seated and that one of those guys replaced the lady of the seat next to her. Her quiet stare didn't stop him from checking her out with a prodding gaze. And then came the generic pick up line. Sierra paused for a moment to think of something. "Sorry. I thought I just heard something really annoying. Was it you?" Her voice was still sort of amiable, but with an undertone of something venomous. Nevertheless, she grinned at the boy while waiting for him to speak.

It was a very generic pick-up line, but the boy that used it loved that particular one. It allowed him to sound like a man while acting like a douche, all at the same time! The delinquent continued to stare at Sierra's chest every now and then, especially during her pause. She was a cutie, but she was lacking in the bust department. Not that he minded so much if she decided to play along like the dainty doll that she was. His eyes narrowed as if he was a serpent, devious tongue slithering out and licking his lips when she stung his pride with that comment. So she decided to disrespect him like that? "Roses are red, violets are blue, why is your chest as flat as my back?" The boy snorted out, deciding to verbally banter her on the flaws he saw in her body. His friends guffawed at the joke and slapped at their knees, giggling and showing the yellow stains in their teeth as he continued to stare with amused eyes towards the group. Susumu glared at them to try and keep them out of this, but he got the hint that Sierra was also getting kind of annoyed with these kids. "Roses are red, violets are blue, shut up." Susumu retorted, shifting his body so he was looking right at the boy. He was bigger than this twerp, but it was hard to say whether they were armed or not. In these parts, gangs were a likely sight. It was hard to say whether these kids were just friends or if they happened to be a part of one of them. "Stay outta this, white boy." The kid responded with a glare towards Susumu, before grinning deviously towards Sierra. "Now baby, don't play that game. Wanna try again?" The kid thought he was being nice by giving her another shot at this, but he didn't exactly have the maturity to understand what he was doing. Susumu could only glare from beside Sierra, both making sure things didn't go out of hand while keeping an eye on the boy’s friends that seemed to be sitting around for backup.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra didn't fail to notice how much he was looking at her chest. In fact, she made an effort to cover it up a little by shifting her position, but his eyes just strayed over to them anyway. What a freaking pervert. At least her comeback had a little bit of an effect, but then he decided to retort and cut her where it hurt. Eyes narrowed at his cheap little poem. Hell, it didn't even rhyme. She aimed a cutting glare at his friends when they laughed as well. She could smell their breath, somewhat - it seemed that these kids didn't care much for oral hygiene. Suddenly, the sound of Susumu's voice could be heard behind her as he sent his joke back at him. A small pause passed before the kid dissed Susumu's whiteness. The funny part was that Susumu didn't even look white, at least to Sierra, who was Asian enough to tell. It just made her feel like these guys were uncultured, though. Thoroughly offended by this point, Sierra narrowed her eyes when he asked her to try again. Time to demonstrate to Susumu just how much of a master of purse-fu she was. "Here's a better idea." She replied before lashing out with her purse and managing to hit him roughly on the side of the head. If that wasn't enough, she aimed for a blow to his crotch next, but he managed to deflect that hit and stand up before she could keep going. The bus was still moving, but who said you couldn't stand up? Sierra glared up at him as Spirit kept controlling the guys because I am a derp.

As much as Susumu didn't like seeing these guys pick on Sierra, he still had a sense that she knew what she was going. It seemed smart to let her handle it for the most part, but hang around as backup in case they did something super stupid. He remembered being a stupid, reckless teenager. Hell, he still was a stupid and reckless teenager, but he wasn't as bad as he used to be. At her introduction to her grand and fabulous 'idea', his eyes were completely on her with innocent curiosity. What was she planning--oh shit she just plowed that guy right in the head. Wincing as he saw the younger male got assaulted in the crotch, he found himself missing the moment where he deflected the hit and managed to stand up. He was a pretty tall kid, though Susumu was positive that the fluff in his hair and the hat that he wore added a few inches. When standing up against Sierra, friends laughing their asses off at how his ass nearly got kicked by a girl, this guy definitely looked cornered. "Bitch, that was assault right there." The kid's legs trembled as he thought about what he should do, feeling completely challenged as this girl kept rejecting him over and over. He already looked like a fool to his friends and his pride was wounded the moment she stood up to him, so now he was stuck at what he should do. "Bitch is crazy, mannn." He gave up and shook his head, forcing his way into one of the rows with his friends so he wouldn't have to sit anywhere near that crazy purse chick. Susumu kept a careful eye on them after that, as if he was expecting them to do something as revenge to Sierra. So far it seemed as if they gave up, but the situation left him rather tense. "Remind me not to piss you off. What the hell is in there anyways? A bike?" It was probably a bad question to ask, considering a lady's bag happened to be a very personal and private thing. Still, something must've been heavy in there to make it look painful. Seriously though, he had to make a mental note to himself. ’Try not to piss Sierra off, even if TD is involved. Bitch is crazy.’

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra gave the guy a defiant grin when he stood up, satisfied that her little assault there was enough to drive him off. Otherwise, it would've been an awkward situation. Sometimes violence was a good thing. Looking at him now, it was sort of a disappointment that he was as perverted as he was. He looked like he could be a nice guy if it weren't for his friends encouraging him to act so vulgarly. "I'd call it self defense." She retorted with a thin smirk. Then he gave up on her, escaping to a seat next to one of his friends. Sierra huffed and glanced to the side, hating being referred to in such a way. But if a guy called her flat chested, he was bound to label her a bitch as well. Perversity and rudeness went hand in hand. Leave it to Susumu to cheer her up, acknowledging how violently she handled that situation. She laughed especially when he suggested that there might be a bike in her purse. Pleased that he was actually interested about what she had in there, she sat her purse on her lap and opened it up with both hands. "Well, I mostly keep my things in the hugest pocket in the top, like water bottles and snacks and clothes-" She closed the opening of the purse a little, embarrassed at the thought of Susumu actually seeing what was inside. It was sort of messy, even for Sierra's standards. At least it was organized chaos and she could find her things without much trouble. "And in this pocket I keep my main team, and in this one I keep my pokeballs and potions." She looked up at him, aware that he might be getting bored. "Yep." She allowed him a chance to reply, her eyes shining with entertainment.

Sierra might've been laughing but Susumu did have some legit reasons to fear the female sitting right next to him. He was going to have to watch out for her purse of death, especially considering the mystery of what was inside of it. She decided to let him indulge in his curiosity, taking a small peak for himself to make sure no large metallic objects were hiding inside of it. Surprisingly it was normal from what he could see, with Sierra's description adding to the typical things that a trainer would carry around. It was simply a large bag in general that made it so frightening, though girls did need a lot of clothes. Perhaps it was the sheer force of clothing that made her bag such a frightening weapon. He didn't catch that she was embarrassed at the purse talk, but his interest in what was inside was quickly diminishing. He was satisfied now that he knew there weren't any swords or some shit that could slice a dude open. You never knew with those Pikachu cosplay chicks, they could have a katana or something on hand. So terrible. "It sounds pretty normal for a bag. I guess you really do have skills." He concluded, grinning at her the entire time. The bus decided to lurch forward just then, coming to a stop to allow several people to get off. His body shifted from the sudden movement as he tried to lean back into his seat, feeling another small dose of motion sickness creeping up on him. Ugh, this bus driver wanted to make hell for everyone, didn't he? "Sooooon." Susumu whined, knowing that it wouldn't be long now until they reached their stop. Those punk kids were still sticking around, but at least they weren't confronting them anymore. He'd be able to put up with this for now, even as the driver's malicious smile continued to taunt them from the reflection in the mirror. Susumu could see it, and it felt as though it was directed right at him. This driver sucked. "So where are you going after this?" He decided to ask, not sure if she told him already or not. Was it wrong that he was curious about where she was staying? He didn't feel creepy about asking that, even if 2 days before this they probably saw each other as enemies.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra grinned with amusement back at Susumu when he complimented her on her so called skills. Really, though, her 'skills' were mostly just her acting on her whims and not holding back. Sometimes people with potential, if they held back enough, looked like amateurs. But Sierra rose up to any challenge, even if she wasn't the best player. "You know me. Master of purse-fu." She bragged, milking every drop of his praise. She leaned back in her chair just then, but a second later the bus once again came to a very, very slow stop. They both inched forward again until it fully stopped, allowing them to lean back against the seat just a little more nauseated than before. She giggled at Susumu's pathetic little whine. "Liiive, Susumu, liiiiive." She encouraged him, patting his shoulder in a consoling manner. He was probably joking, but so was she. The punk kids didn't get off the bus, but a lot of people grabbed their luggage and got off at the stop. Sierra didn't know how long it would take to get to their destination, but they were getting closer. She could feel it. The bus was still motionless when Susumu asked the question. It didn't feel invasive to Sierra, but it might've a few days ago when she still felt like he was an enemy. She touched one finger to her chin as she pondered her answer. "I'll probably get back to traveling the next route. Route three, that is." She confessed. "I really need to pick up the pace." Her voice held determination; even if it took her a long time, she was hellbent on reaching the Elite 4. Just then, the bus lurched towards the sidewalk as an extremely obese man walked up the steps onto the bus. The crowd of people inside the bus yelped and muttered angrily until the fat man walked down the aisle, which returned the bus to balance again. Sierra tried not to stare at him as he chose to sit right next to Susumu in the seat that the sleeping man used to be. Poor Susumu, forced to experience this sheer girth. Sierra scooted a little towards the empty seat next to her to give Susumu some room if he needed it.

"So I'm a mind reader and you're a purse master." Susumu sighed as he leaned back into his chair, feeling himself recover from the sickening sensations of being shoved around by a tormenting bus driver. Sierra's good sense of humor was bringing him through it, cracking a smile as he shook his head at everything. So far this adventure was freaking crazy, and it felt pretty nice to be able to complain about first world problems compared to say, getting chased by a rapist down in Verona. He turned his head towards her as he listened patiently from his spot, genuinely interested in her plans and what she had going on. It was probably one of the calmer topics they talked about since they first saw each other in this dirty old city. "Heh heh. Yeah, I still have to challenge Paris. Still training up for that." He shook his head when he realized that Sierra was ahead of him on his journey. If she was picking up the pace, then damn. He felt a bit more compelled to hurry his own training up himself. So many times he ended up getting distracted with work, keeping order with his own team, and finding random events in the city that all worked together to prevent him from training anything. It was a terrible mixture that was dragging him down as a trainer. "Isn't route three the home of Tarzan? Planning on swinging through the vines?" He snickered as he looked at her, having a bit of a hard time imagining her doing such a thing. She seemed like she could pull it off since she was always so energetic, but she seemed like such a city girl at times. It was weird. He really wasn't sure of what to make of Sierra, especially since one could not simply label a girl like her. Nothing seemed to really fit. More people shuffled onto the bus, at first not catching his attention until one of them came awfully close to him. It was a rather large, sweaty looking man that panted as he planted his jiggling buttocks on the seat next to him. He could feel the fat touching against his skin, making him twitch in his place as he mentally begged for some space. At least Sierra was considerate enough to move over, happily taking advantage of it as he escaped the colossal rolls of fat. The obese Hawaiian looking man only gave him an annoyed glare before staring out the window, looking bored with the situation. The bus started to roar once more, the gentle hum returning to try and beat down the silence that threatened to hang in the air. Then there were sirens, furiously flashing red and blue colors as several cop cars struggled to move around the bus. There were a swarm of cars stuck in traffic though, making it hard for the po-po to shut anyone down down in this part of town town. Hearing those sirens slowly started to get on Susumu’s nerves, but he didn’t bother to comment on it. Instead he was curious to see what the hell was going on, wondering if some car outside of their window was getting chased after or something. Whatever it was, po-po was mad.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra laughed at the reminder of Susumu's 'mind-reading capabilities', glad that he could remember those sorts of things. Running gags like that were precious to her, as were all the memories of hanging out with her friends, but her mind was so loose that after about a month it was like it never happened. She could only remember things if they were written down or if she constantly reminded herself. "Keeping it real." She had an urge to put on her sunglasses just then but managed to harry it away. They lapsed into casual conversation about their journeys, which was just fine with her. Heck, talking about anything with Susumu was fine with her. He seemed like the type of person that could keep things interesting - a factor that was important in holding Sierra's meager attention span. Hearing Paris' name made Sierra catch and take hold of a memory. "Paris? The Second Gym leader? She was tough." She conveyed, faintly remembering the tension of that battle. A turn hadn't gone by where Paris' tactics of seduction hadn't completely ruined her plans. Then he commented about route three. The way he put it made it seem like swinging through the vines was the only way through. She couldn't withhold a giggle at that. "You know what? That's a great idea. I think I will." Unfortunately, she didn't have a pen and paper to write that down on. But there were bound to be a bunch of vines that she could swing on! But she later forgot. People filed onto the bus as they talked. Sierra felt self-satisfaction after she scooted over as Susumu accepted the unspoken offer, filling the gap she left. By now, she was close to the side of the bus, where she could see out the window. The faint sound of sirens getting closer didn't lie; pressing her hands to the window as she looked out, she could see a dispersed group of cop cars mixed in with traffic. "Woah, that's a lot of cops." She remarked to Susumu, acting as his eyes. Car horns blared and one person stepped out of his car, holding something in his hand. He looked around before he seemed to realize that cops were about and ran like a jackrabbit as cops got out of their cars right in the middle of traffic, bearing their sticks and guns as they hightailed it the hell towards their target. Sierra gasped at the sound of shouting. "Woah!" She exclaimed, pressing even closer to the window as she tried to watch what was going on. Unfortunately, the bus was stopped and the pursuit turned around a corner and out of sight.

'Ha. Always keeping it real.' He snorted at her comment and shook his head, as if he was somehow disappointed at her attempt to sound like a thug. If it even could be called that, snickering to himself a little as he stared out the window with a distracted look on his face. He could keep up with Sierra's chatter, but when there were sirens blasting out of the window, it naturally had him curious. What wasn't interesting about the thought of adventure and danger? If someone was being a criminal and broke all of society’s rules and standards, naturally it was fun to look at the taboo! "Yeah, seriously. I wonder what he did." He commented with a curious stare, feeling rather envious because Sierra had a front row seat by being right next to the window. He tried to steal as many glances as her could, shoulder practically touching the chairs in front of them as he struggled to see beyond Sierra's mighty head. At least she was able to see and say what was going on, which he was going to have to rely on if his curiosity was ever going to be satisfied. "Geez, look at him go." Susumu barely got a glimpse at the back of the criminal's head, not recognizing him at all, but getting a strong 'guilty' vibe from the frightened man. It reminded him of something right out of Cops, which made him wonder if any cameramen happened to be lurking around. With the bus trapped at a red light, they were hardly going to find out anytime soon. "Damn, Verona. You scary." He joked, referencing Family Guy with an amused grin. It didn't matter if the reference was understood or not, the saying itself was funny enough. "I hope I never end up like that guy." It was more of a comment to the side, blinking as he wondered about whatever hell TD would make him do next. Hopefully nothing as bad as the power plant, since that shit was scary.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n "Yeah." Sierra agreed without turning to face Susumu, still distractedly looking out the window at the spectacle. Naturally, she was ignorant to the fact that her head was blocking his view, but he hadn't pointed it out. "He could be running faster." Sierra muttered under her breath, as if she was on his side, criticizing his inability to escape arrest. Her knuckles turned light as she craned her neck to see what was going on, but her efforts were fruitless. She settled more against her chair as Susumu fired off more comments, acknowledging him with a glance. She grinned at the reference, catching it. She wasn't a regular viewer of the show, but hearing it from several others solidified it in her mind. If he didn't continue with the second remark, she would've come up with a lighthearted response, but he did. It was a bit of a mood-killer, causing Sierra's face to fall a little. Then her optimism and frivolity came through as she grinned at him. "Well, if you're running from the cops, you know how to find me." She waved her phone securely in one hand, swinging the dangling charms. Her tone was playful; honestly, she didn't expect him to ever need her help escaping justice, but she wanted to communicate, at least, that she would be there for him if he needed her. The red light turned green finally and the bus accelerated forward, prompting Sierra to look out the window again. Around the corner where the criminal ran, he was now struggling on the ground, being held down by two cops with his hands fastened behind his back. He seemed to be shouting, but Sierra couldn't discern what, and before she could see anything else, foreshortening caused a nearer building to obscure the spectacle. "They caught him." She murmured, leaning back against her seat again and examining her short nails with their paint all chipped off. She felt like she should've been happy that he was apprehended, but for some reason, she wasn't - just melancholic, uncertain.

Susumu didn't intend to kill the mood at all until he noticed a pause in the air, feeling the weirdness touch him all over in a miserable wave. He was about to correct himself to try and make things slightly easier to talk about, but Sierra beat him to it. She was more of a natural at saving the positive pressure in a conversation so he really wasn't all that surprised. He blinked at what she said, not entirely sure how he should even think about it. It was a bit of a surprise to hear her say something that honest and friendly, considering how she used to act around him when they first met. It really made him wonder how she switched her mind just like that, despite the distrust about the TD gig. If they never talked and interacted in the way they had, he was nearly certain that she would be the one trying to arrest him. For now, the subject of TD was left as being something like taboo. To him, talking about something like that would only make things awkward and uncomfortable with her, guaranteed. "H-Heh, I guess I do. Creepily." He added that in there to try and show that he was taking this a little more lightly than it seemed. Things quieted down as the bus started moving at the changing lights, leaving the pair to try and stare out the window to catch a glimpse at the scene. They weren't the only ones, as several other passengers started 'ooing' and 'ahhing' at the dirty justice going on out there. Susumu found himself frowning at the news, leaning back into his chair with a quiet sigh. It was oddly disappointing to see the guy get caught like that, especially after his earlier comment. How easily that could've been him if things went bad! What would he freaking do if he was the one that was trapped like that? It left him with an odd chill as the bus passed the event without much care for the interest of its passengers. "Well..." That stupid silence was bothering him like a gnat flying around in front of his food, feeling nothing but intense urges to swat it away. He didn't know exactly how to fill in the blanks, but he figured he could think of something. Somehow. "We'll probably hear about it on the news or something." Yeah, he didn't know where he was going with such a bland statement. He definitely killed the mood from before and he found himself regretting it. Susumu wasn't the type to say it so easily, but he really did feel glad that Sierra would have his back for something like this. He didn’t want to go too much into it, knowing that he’d probably get flustered at wherever the topic would take him.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra could sort of tell that he found this awkward, so she beamed encouragement at him until he added the very last word. Then she laughed, knowing it was a joke. Satisfied that she ended that on a safer note, she laid down her phone again, absentmindedly scrolling through text messages old and new. Then the bus moved again and she caught sight and relayed it to Susumu and she could just feel the awkward return. It was like a blanket smothering the happy feelings and the banter. "Yep." She replied with a gentle sigh, knowing that a more serious mood had settled on them. She lapsed into thought, thinking about what would happen if Susumu actually had to seek her for help escaping the police. He should've been caught many times, actually. The organization he was working for went against the laws of the country -- a rebel group. She wondered if she really would help him in such circumstances. Yes. She would. Not doing so would be betrayal; she couldn't do that to him. Susumu was a better guy than most others she met. The only difference was that he broke the law. She imagined him in the place of the runaway man, being held down by police officers, and frowned a little, feeling something catch in her throat. Realizing that she was about to get emotional, she quickly turned to a different path of thought involving her pokemon, and that settled her down. Realizing that a silence had settled over them, she posed a question. "Hey - what do you usually feed your pokemon?" She glanced at him. The bus sped along, steadily getting closer to their destination. They were probably more than half the way there.

Odd question, but it was still a life saver from the mood they were currently drowning in. Sierra's emotional moment went unnoticed for the most part, but the silence that settled over the teenagers was still as heavy and sluggish as ever. He was a little taken aback by the sudden question, not able to tell where she was going with this. Feeding his Pokemon, huh? His Pokemon were probably quite a bit hungrier than usual, after being CONFINED to Sierra for so long. He could imagine the grouchy hell they were going to give him. God damn that was going to suck. "Usually whatever I eat. Junk food. Microwavable stuff. They really don't like those pellets." Yeah, he was completely responsible for his wild animals. It all started off with Masaaki and his curiosity for burgers, then he became spoiled and the others became jealous. Even the flipping Weepinbell was enjoying those microwavable kid cuisines. It was ridiculous. "I can get them to eat berries sometimes, but they've gotten so picky." It was partly because he was easily pushed around as well, though he wasn't about to admit that. "What about you? Sugar everywhere? Health nut?" He would've guessed that she fed them all sugary treats, but then again Sierra probably hoarded all of the sugar to herself. "I'm sure a Pokemon Breeder would love to lecture me on how I take care of them." He mused a little to himself, knowing that he took good enough care of his Pokemon. He might not be PERFECT at it, but he was taking care of them.
OOC: I'm enjoying this greatly, believe it or not. It gives me something to think about with Shamu.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Thank goodness Susumu was talking now, or else she was bound to amuse herself in some more obnoxious way than talking. She knew it herself, too - her fidgeting problem. Even now she was sort of staring at her fingers drumming together as she listened to his response. "Mhm. Mine don't like those either." She confessed with amusement. She wasn't about to admit that she tasted the pellets too, and they were sort of gross. Tasted like some sort of rotted stuff, moist with something. Fat, maybe? It wasn't pleasant. Hmm, berries. She sometimes fed her pokemon berries as a treat, but held onto some of them for their medicinal properties. "Me? I give mine a lot of snacks. Without chocolate, of course. Once they stole the snacks out of my bag when I was asleep... that didn't go down so well." She chuckled. "I should probably buy them better food. It just passes my mind." She folded her hands together, then grinned at Susumu's answer. "As long as your pokemon are happy, it doesn't matter, right?" She replied, stretching her arms in front of her boredly. Not moving around was really getting to her. How long would this bus ride be? She looked out the window again and noticed that their surroundings looked a lot less dumpy than before; the buildings looked well-kept, with less homeless people walking around. People were even smiling.

Ha! It seemed as if he wasn't the only one with similar feeding problems. He almost expected some kind of a lecture from the fellow trainer, but nope. They could be terrible human beings together, giving him a little less information that he would've hid from her. "Oh no, really? I don't give mine chocolate exactly. They haven't gotten sick from Oreos just yet, so I think they're somehow 'special cookies'." He chuckled a little at the thought, noticing how his Vulpix hardly ever had food poisoning. The only time when that ever happened with him was the time they went out to KFC. Never again. That fox had to lay off the fried chicken, no matter how much he begged and pleaded for the delicious meat. "Exactly. They suddenly aren't so happy when they get sick, but they can deal with it." Susumu silently cracked his back after saying that, relieving a little tension after sitting down in the same spot for so long. A sideways glance out the window told him that they wouldn't be stuck in here for much longer, making him extremely eager to get out of this dump. It wouldn't be long until they went their separate ways, assuming Sierra knew where she was by the time they got off the bus. "Feels like it’s been forever since I saw the good part of the city." He felt as if being more talkative was perking up his mood, so he couldn't help but keep up this chatterbox attitude. Maybe it was because he knew they were going to part ways, wanting to say what he could before they ended up doing their awkward good byes.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n His response was amusing, allowing Sierra to giggle a bit as he elaborated on what he knew about pokemon and chocolate. "Ohh, so oreos don't make them sick." She nodded at this new information. "I should remember to buy some of those." She hadn't had oreos in a while; it'd slipped her mind on several occasions to buy some to snack on during her trip. Susumu's final response was a fitting end to the conversation, so she murmured an "mhm" before relaxing a bit more. By now, she was used to the smooth, occasionally bumpy ride of the bus, though it didn't keep her from fidgeting like she always did. Her feet, that was. One leg was nearly vibrating as she subconsciously bobbed her ankle, the energy from all that sugary breakfast getting to her. It also helped that she could barely think past the thick, pain-blocking mist currently rooted in her head. Susumu changed the subject, fittingly, catching her attention again. "Yeah. Finally. Can't believe I survived 3 whole days with you." She remarked, grinning puckishly at him to show that it was mere sarcasm.
