Compared to his previous gym battles, this one had been fairly short from what he could see. It was the exchange of powerful super effective blows that were swiftly taking each Pokemon out, level or no level advantage, and it was probably for the best that it was like that. This was just one minor thing to get out of the way during his stay in the city, mostly planning on relaxing after this. Probably take a week off to lollygag in his hometown, since he doubted he had any important jobs to handle anyways. Blinking as he caught himself zoning off, he noticed that Big Mac had finally fainted to Neon's radically fierce Tackle. The Magneton seemed pleased at toppling over the large dragon, rushing around her other forms in a constant elliptical circle, almost as if she was an atom.
<Thunder trio! Thunder trio! Rah rah rah!> The three exclaimed in a victory cheer, taking enjoyment in each other's company. They seemed to share the same general personality even if they had 3 individual bodies, making her an extremely odd Pokemon to observe. At least for Seamus, as he was quietly taking notes in his head based on Neon's behavior. She didn't see the kick coming as she was busy celebrating, and the low kick sent all three of them crashing painfully to the ground, halting their obnoxious but energetic cheers. <Ow, that's gotta hurt...> Ethyl winced, covering her eyes but sneaking a peek at the Magneton as they slowly got up. The hit was super effective, painful, but they still had it in them for a little more of a fight.
"Thunderwave, keep him still." Seamus ordered with a hint of sympathy towards Neon, not wanting to stress her out by making her use multiple attacks. Thunderwave would be enough. The Magneton fired off a blue stream of electricity, looking like a laffy taffy whip as it attempted to latch around the Torchic to limit his movements. "Dragon Dance and Aqua Tail." If the Torchic was pinned down well enough, then hopefully the Aqua Tail would make its mark. Ethyl's eyes continued to water up as she vigorously danced to boost her spirits, feeling her steps hasten with the sense of a deadline coming up, as if everything would be over soon. She didn't know how soon, or for who, but something was going to happen because of this. She took a deep breath, water lashing out of her tail as she charged at Elf with the intent to hurt. She whipped her tail out at him, trying to smack him and douse him with a cold burst of water.

Gym Leader Tina ! Elf was glad that his kick shut the three 'Thunder Brats' up, rather tired of their irritating cheer. That rascal Big Mac always started up trouble for him. <Yer only fit to be called Thunder Trio if ye went through military trainin' like me! Why I oughta gerrover there 'n-> "Elf. ELF. No one cares." Tina called out with annoyance, knowing from experience that if she didn't tell him to shut up, he would've went on a tangent. The old chick grumbled to himself, settling down a little as their opponents acted.
The sudden Thunderwave came too quick for the fire-type to dodge, binding him in place. He grumbled as his hips and joints creaked from paralysis. Before he could try to protest, the Totodile had danced and was now proceeding to whack him in the face with an Aqua Tail. A chirp of fright left him as he was smacked by the water type move, its power enough to send him tumbling backwards. He tried to get back up, but to no avail; he could only shake his wing at Ethyl in rage before going limp.
Tina knew her Pokémon was done for when the Low Kick had failed to faint the Magneton. But she knew her opponent had strong pokemon, so she felt a bit confident knowing she put up a worthy fight. Besides, one often learned more from a loss than a victory. "You have bested me. Congratulations." Tina said in a smooth voice, offering Seamus a wan smile. "Substitute, if you didn't notice, is my signature move. I entrust you with it." She took a few things out of a box and held them out to the victor, expecting him to come over and take them. What, who was she, a wealthy woman, to service him?

Both of Seamus's Pokemon seemed to cringe when Elf started to go on an old fashioned rant, though Seamus wasn't able to understand what was going on, he was amused at how repulsed they were. How rare. Tina seemed to be able to control the Torchic, which made him wonder how he was supposed to handle his loud mouthed Forretress that always fought for a say in any situation. Damn bug, always a hassle and getting in his way. The battle was over as he expected, though he was half wondering if she had used another one of those phantom moves that would've saved her Torchic for this final turn. Luckily she didn't, so that was a relief.
<Victory!> The Magneton said weakly, voice cracking as they raised their magnets to celebrate. The Totodile seemed satisfied with herself for not fainting this time, smiling at the fainted Torchic before scuttling over to Neon and beaming at them. <You're really lucky, ya know. So pretty and strong.> She chirped, raising a hand up at them, expecting to get a high five. The Magneton simply stared at her, flattered at the compliment but confused at the motion. Did she want to be picked up like a baby? Shrugging, Neon surrounded the Totodile and started to carry her around, even if she was tired. <W-Whoa--> Ethyl clung onto the Magneton as they did a weird victory dance that she didn't expect, and she really wanted down!
"So that's a Substitute." Seamus mused after watching his Pokemon for a bit, nervous about approaching Tina but knowing that he had to. The badge in her hand was classy looking; well polished, colorful and tasteful. It felt good having three badges on hand, finally. "I'll be sure to use it." He didn't really use the other TM from Paris, but this would be one to experiment with. He recalled both Neon and Ethyl into their Pokeballs; calling their little party off as he waved a small good-bye to Tina. He had things to do in the city anyways-- lots of packing for the next route, family to visit, and he desperately needed to relax and recharge.
Then there was Skyrim.
