SUP?
So. So. So. I'm going to try revamping them. I have some basic ideas of what I want to do, but it really wouldn't kill to hear what you guys want.
If you suggest anything like this I'm going to kick you because it doesn't count for genius:
-- Adding more items -- Making it prettier -- Changing descriptions/prices
I want to keep the 'order an item' feature for 12k because it is kind of a pain finding the sprites for EVERYTHING when not everything is bought and used. But yeah.
This includes pretty much everything in the Harris Megamall area. We don't need suggestions for the pound or sol ranch, but the sol ranch has a shop if you want to throw around ideas for that.
Only good ideas count for genius. If you provide a bunch of smaller but useful ones, then they can add up for a genius point. Yeah, common sense I guess. Let's just...hear what you guys want!

Idea 1: Delivery Peliper |_ What this idea is is that when you are on a route, you can get a peliper for example to take an order, before it would go and get it for you. Obviously this would mean you would have to wait for it, but that makes it more enjoyable then doesn't it? If this was to work well, then you would need some sort of special item to call upon the birds. That's something to consider; also you could just make a station pop up somewhere on the route after a certain amount of pages, so then the trainer could ask for a item before having to wait upon it. However something to stress is that in each route you might not be able to have every single item there, maybe a limit to how rare an item you can get perhaps? Idea 2: Well this one is more of how to design the shop it self. If you were take an image like the one below, you could implement items in to it via photshop and make it look pretty or something. :/ I don't know, just an idea that came up on the spot.

Sheep: (1) I'm not too too sure what you mean, but don't people just create a post in the shop to go by themselves now? I mean liquid time is a lot of fun :X But again, i'm noooot too sure what you meant by your suggestion <3 sounds like Pidgey Express to meee
(2) Broken image :X But i'm guessing it's just customizing a pokemon so it's holding the item?

I was thinking maybe add a special sale every now and again, so people would use them more.
So like, on certain holidays or events there are various items that go on sale for cheaper but only last for that day / the day of it, before and after for those who can't get on.
Let's see... Some examples.
Bonfire Night (5th Nov)
A sale on Charcoals, Fire Stones or items that generally boost fire type potential. Based on the fact that since irl there'll be bonfires, these are more or less the "spoils".
Christmas
Sale on Soothe ("Jingle") Bells and other ice-type items that would benefit. If it's kept, some berries that defrost Pokemon become more common in the Random Berry Bag.
Valentines Day
Sale on Love Balls, Flutes, Sun Stones (symbolic of warmth and passion), etc.
For some of the shops as well, you can't sell or exchange items :x I know I've wanted to sell some things to the shops and not been able to. I know we can trade with other members but have like an exchange section like in the routes, where you can trade x for y, but there are chances.
Could also bring in a version of the Croagunk Swap Shop. Put a random item into one of the shops, get a random item back that could possibly even be broken or possibly even defective. (Ie. Super Rod that breaks after one use or Potion that's so old it only heals half the damage that it should. Maybe a berry that appears perfectly normal but has a side effect that heals but causes paralysis once consumed. Wouldn't that cause some interesting tension between a sneaky or unsuspecting user giving a friendly Pokemon a spoilt berry?)

Theme Items: It would be a creative thing to try for sure, though we already have monthly promos that typically cover things like this, I guess we could have them in the shops to look cute. I don't really see anyone trying to buy them even if I sent out a mass pm to advertise it, but we could try. It seems more cutesy than useful. But if other members come in the thread and take interest...?
Selling items: It seems like something that could be arranged, but I would put limits on the items you could sell. No selling Lucky Egg, Exp. Share, Quick Claw, berries. It's usually just easier to sell to members, and it sounds like a lot of gross PD time for us if we have to deduct all of the time for members trying to sell their starter packs, assuming they attempt that.
Croagunk Shop: Eh, I have a prototype of that in Electric City. It's not very popular. The berry appearing normal thing would be difficult because most users would just discard it, and admins would have to keep track of the thread it was being used in, and another mod would be likely to beat them to the punch modding wise. Also we don't have an item generator, lulz. It wouldn't be random. It would just be us picking shit.

I don't know if suggestions are still welcomed, but.. Weekly/Monthly Give-a-way Counter Weekly,Bi-Weekly, Monthly, however maybe you could have a give-w-way counter. Of course Cheyenne is generous when it comes to giving stuff away, but maybe in the shop come up with a monthly themed give-away. Maybe even pair it with a sale in different shops like buy one, get something free. Do it for different shops every week/month get shoppers buying for their free themed item.

How about a "Rare Goods" time in shops? For example, at a certain time of day, once a week or something like that, a limited number of items that can't otherwise be purchased would go on sale? There could be limitations on how many a single user or character could buy.
~~~~~
Also, another idea to go along with the whole "Selling Items" thing.... If it's a problem with effort on the part of Admins, then what about only certain items being able to be sold? To help explain what I mean, I'll reference Skyward Sword.
In Skyward Sword, you can sell Insects and Treasures if you know where to look and at what time. However, when you go to sell them, they will only purchase specific Treasures/Insects from you until the next night.
I feel that something like that could be useful. Then Shops would only buy back specific items. Although this wouldn't make much sense for every shop to do this, I figure there could be some kind of buy-back merchants at the shops who will purchase items from you at half the price that the store sells them.
~~~~~
Another idea I had was to set up a kind of Game Corner where you can spend PD to buy a Coin Case or Coins to play various games that involve randomly generated results. Or just spend the money directly on the games and cutting Coins out completely. I don't know if this already exists or not, but if it does I must have forgotten about it after all this time. xD

Suggestions are of course still welcome, this thread isn't locked yet. :'D
The gamer corner idea will be thought about, but definitely not for a shop. Possibly for a promo or an event that eventually ends. We used to have something like this in the really old days, but I don't think anyone actually won prizes for it. Then there was a special event only in the summer that I ran where you could gamble over certain games, so it wouldn't be an entirely new idea. People did kind of like it, but then Cheyenne went and had herpes.
I don't know if people actually need sales though. You guys all have an awful lot of PD, and it's just kind of building up and not being used unless you buy stuff from each other. As long as there is something amazing to be bought, people will just keep saving up for it and won't buy the little stuff. That was the issue with the mod shop, and I believe it would be the same issue with full access shops.

What about trainer kits? Like 2-3x Random item Potions, Pokeballs, Berries ect Starting, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, kits for different levels (potions, Super, Hyper, Max) ect that sort of thing? Maybe cheapen it a bit for the gamble?

Trainer Kits: That would actually be kind of cute, like what we have in the auctions, right? Or maybe like how we have starter packs at the ranger/lab. I could dig something like this. What do you guys think?

I like the idea of these trainer kits, it allows everyone to get something relating to their level.
So then, maybe we could relate the bags to gym badges maybe? So you can get the starting for going into route 1, then a bag for each gym perhaps, where each bag will get more rarer stuff, so like rare candies for the higer up bags perhaps?
However, the only thing to make it fair is each character being allowed one bag a month perhaps? And to make it even more fairer you can change the bags up each month?
Just a thought for a penny

What do you guys think? I like it if we make it a random thing so it can always change. Because if it's always the same, then why not just buy each specific item on the shop? They are there anyways... I mean sure, it could be a bit cheaper than the individual items but it would be cool if it was random IMO. I think we can have it like the berries so we won't even need the beginner/advanced/expert or what not. We can set a certain price and have it be a random choosing of like 2 items, 2 balls, 2 berries, and etc. Unless you want to do beginner/advance/expert which can still work with the random choosing... But just more expensive and higher probability of getting something good.
