[bg=ebf9f9][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=valign,top,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, vertical-align:top] The ground was thick with a layer of white slush and Akki had to keep his fists deep in the pockets of his travel coat to keep his fingertips from freezing. His face was buried in the high collar on the coat so that only his eyes were visible between the black coat and his chocolate brown hair. His teeth were gritted tight and he could feel them crush together with every laboured step. God how he loathed what was about to happen, but even according to some of the black market dealers this was the only way for him to get a decent pokemon around here. As he trudged on his eyes became unfocused on the horizon before him, all he could see was a never ending row of white, lines with trees on either side. Every now and then he'd hear a pidgey coo or the distinct call of an Aipom, but not once so far had he seen one. Then suddenly as though a firework had gone off a flash of bright colour hit his vision. The large tent seemed so out of place here, and it was clear from the lack of snow on it that there must be someone maintaining it...so this must be the ranger station... He stopped walking and shut his eyes, bracing himself for what ever idiot would be coming out to give him what ever excuse for a pokemon they could find, the only positive thing he could think of was that once he had it he would have started his new team and would once more be heading toward a life of power and luxury. Slowly he paced up to the tent until he was only a few feet from the entrance, a thin sheet flapping overly wildly in the gentle breeze. He took a deep breath, feeling the frigid air fill his lungs. "Hello." He called out blandly before placing his faulting gaze on the entrance for any sign of activity, hopefully he would not be expected to wait too long...

Gym Leader Adrian::rattata:: Rat
"I see, volunteering is easier here than I thought." Two people were talking on the inside of a tent, both sitting down over a very plain plastic table which was covered with a cheap table cover. It was rather winter themed though, so at least they kept up with the times. The tall dark haired woman sitting down thought about what her older friend was talking about before nodding. "I'm fine with being a ranger for now, I suppose. Rat could help out." The gym leader sent out her Rattata not long after that, which immediately sat down at her feet obediently with a tired huff.
Around that time, someone had called out in greeting while walking inside. He was a pretty tall guy with a look that made Adrian nervous, but she had seen many types like this before in the past. "Hello." She greeted, glancing over at the other ranger that simply smiled and nodded at her, leaving to let her handle this. "Oh, wait. So soon?" She asked, a bit caught off guard when she was left alone with this new guest, but she could do this. Rat sniffed at the air as he took in the guy's appearance, but didn't smell anything weird about him. As far as the Rattata knew, he was a normal guy.
"My name is Adrian, and you are...?" Ok, let's start with that. She pulled herself out of her seat and stood up with a faint smile toward him, nudging the chair back into the table with her hip as she looked at him. He either was here to volunteer as well, or he was interested in a Pokemon.

[bg=ebf9f9][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=valign,top,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, vertical-align:top] He could hear faint talking coming from within the tent which abruptly stopped after his greeting, he took this silence as his cue to enter and pushed the hanging door aside so that he was now standing in the warmth of the room. Had this been any other place he would have taken off his gloves, but he knew full well that he wasn't going to be in here for any considerable amount of time so he simply pulled his fists from his pocket and began to gaze around the tent. It seemed slightly larger than he had expected, but still no real place to live in his opinion, everything looked plastic, or simply slung together, nothing seemed sturdy. He gave a slightly huff before turning to gaze coldly at the two figures at the nearest table, he watched as one moved off leaving him alone with a dark haired female and what appeared to be a vermin. He blinking slightly at her introduction, pausing for possibly too long before deciding that in order to keep things running smoothly he'd need to respond to this. "Akki." He stated, before turning his gaze from her and landing it on the small purple mouse at her feet. This was either her pokemon; something she was going to use to get him his, or it was the pokemon that she was planning on gifting him, either way he wasn't very impressed. He looked up to the female again and felt that possibly he had to state his reason for being here, so he cleared his throat slightly before almost glaring into her eyes. "I'm here to receive a pokemon, I trust this is the correct place?" He said, his voice taking on the air of someone making a business deal, far from a child who was bursting at the seems to get their first pokemon, as he once had been.

Adrian gave a warming smile as the trainer responded briefly to her question, but she didn't mind too much to be honest; but she have a curt little nod when he asked if this was the right place to come to if he wanted to get a pokemon. Having a look into a box next to her, she glanced over at the two sitting at the table before shrugging. She knew she couldn't be doing any harm. "Here you go; some basic items to set you on your way. Now if you wait here for a moment, Rat here will go grab a pokemon." she said, before gently nudging the rattata off into the back of the tent, hen shortly multiple crashes, grunts and shouts were heard. Well, this was a bit awkward then.

[bg=ebf9f9][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=valign,top,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, vertical-align:top] Akki blinked blankly as the woman nodded at him, apparently accepting his introduction and request, he watched as she moved to collect a small satchel and handed it to him. He fumbled with it in his hand for a moment, trying too feel what the contents might be and finding there must be a mix of natural and human made products, seemed like a decent enough starter kit, nothing like what he was used to but he'd get it all back soon enough. His eyes shut slowly as she mentioned that her rat was to go and collect him a pokemon, this was just brilliant, he would not have to hope that this little pest would be capable of taking down something even half worth his time to train. He let out an exasperated sigh as the little critter jolted outside, his eyes flashing open as loud bangs and thuds echoed through the tent...mayhaps he had under estimated this little beast's power?
He turned his attention back to the female though, she seemed slightly more on in years than most of the trainers he had heard about, why on earth was she here, helping little kids....a sick thought suddenly crept into his mind and he couldn't stop himself from fire a glare at this woman. Then a sinister thought occurred, what if she only had that rat on her? Could he stand any chance of taking her down with what ever the hell her rodent brought back? "So, how many pokemon do you have?" He asked as though it were common chit chat as he pulled his hand up and began examining his glove as though to seem totally uninterested in what he had just asked.

Gym Leader AdrianRat
Man, there really were loud grunts and growls going on outside, and none of them were from her Rattata either. Adrian was tempted to go outside to check if her poor Rat had picked a fight with one of the swarms flying around, but Rat wasn't even making sounds of pain. Whatever the issue was, she was sure to find out soon enough. "I have about 5 Pokemon, but I only use 4 in Gym Battles." Poor Worm, her beloved Dustox, who had taken an early retirement when he was diagnosed with third degree arthritis.
"Size isn't everything, in case you were wondering." She mused, when suddenly her Rattata's tail poked in through the tent, wiggling with excitement as if to catch her attention. She saw it alright, taking a spare Pokeball from off of the counter as she wondered that the issue was, until she opened the tent flap all of the way.
"...How the hell did you drag a Tauros here?" She found herself asking as Rat let go of the fainted Tauros's tail, looking up at her with an unambitious grunt. <Vultures were picking at it. It's not dead though.> Well, she didn't understand his language so she was left wondering how he defeated and dragged a Tauros here so quickly, but she acted as if she understood with a dim nod. Oh well, Pokeball let's go. She tossed it at the fainted Tauros's beefy chest and grinned when it was successfully captured. Rat picked the sphere up with his tail and batted it up into the air, allowing Adrian to catch it in her hands as she held it out for Akki to take. "Hopefully you'll be able to battle me at the gym with this Tauros, Akki." She winked at him with a giggle, wondering if he realized that she was a Gym Leader.

[bg=ebf9f9][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=valign,top,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, vertical-align:top] His teeth gritted slightly as more loud crashes came from outside, by god what had she been feeding this rat to make it cause so many loud noises. He then actually had to shut his eyes out of pure frustration as he heard how many pokemon this woman had. Sure she would wipe the floor with him if he tried to take her on with what ever the little purple mouse was to drag in. He actually stifled back a chuckle as she commented on size, it was true, size was far from the most important thing, many small things could put up quite the fight if push came to shove. His eyes flashed open as he heard the woman mention a Tauros, could it be true? His eyes flashed to the entrance and to his total disbelief there it was, passed out and badly battered yet built like a tank from hell. He eyed it cautiously before looking over to the female again, was she truly giving this thing to him? He wasn't really sure if he should be impressed that the rat had taken it down, or disgraced that this thing was taken down by a rat. Either way he watched as she caught the massive beast and held the ball out to him. Slowly, as if testing to see if she would pull it back, he reached out for the red orb, his fingers clasping on and lingering there for a moment before he took it toward himself. It was no surprise that her words took a little while to sink in...his brow furrowed slightly as he contemplated this. He had heard her talking about a gym, but now she wasn't speaking as a gym challenger anymore, he could have sworn she were implying that she owned one... A low laugh escaped him as this went through his mind and he slowly raised his gaze till it fell once more on her eyes. "I can't wait." He said, his voice drenched in what might seem as over confidence, but the mere thought that this woman, with that pathetic excuse for a pokemon was his first step toward being as strong as he once was...it was truly laughable. Before he could ruin this moment he decided to leave, he simply gave her a slight nod before walking out and savouring what was to come.
