Nathan was sitting on a big rock, his ears plugged with his earphones, listening to Hello from Martin Solveig Ft. Dragonette. The boy was eating a big sandwich while humming to himself. He was almost finished with his breakfast when he remembered something. The newbie trainer detached a pokéball from his belt and released his starter, a Karrablast and unplugged his ears
The small, blue bug let out a yawn and quickly stretched out. It noticed the human sitting beside him and raised an eyebrow. <So, you are my trainer? May I please have your name, master?>
"Kar, karra, blastkar." Nathan scratched the back of his head. Unfortunately, the lad didn't understand pokéspeech so it didn't know what the Karrablast said. "I'm sorry, buddy, but I don't understand a thing you say." The boy tried to give the bug type a friendly smile, but he could only muster a grimace so he took out an apple from his bag and placed it in front of the clamping pokémon. "Here, eat this while I introduce myself."
The short beetle sweatdropped at the sight of the human's stupid face. <I see that you can't understand me, but I don't get it, why you're making such a strange face as this.> The Karrablast didn't get an answer, instead his trainer gave it an apple. <Oh, thank you.> The pokémon grabbed the red fruit with its small, black arms and bit into the apple.
Nathan finally managed a smile and started talking. "So, my name's Nathan. I'm your trainer." The lad facepalmed himself. It was obvious that he was the Karrablast's trainer, there was no need to say it. The lad sighed before he continued. "That was unnecessary, right? You must have realized this already. Heh. Sorry." Nathan glanced at the Karrablast, but it didn't look bothered by the human's mistake so the boy started talking again. "Okay, I think you'll need a name. Since you evolve into Escavalier, which is basically a knight, I think I'll name you after a famous knight. What do you think about Mordred? I think it sounds better than Lancelot."
„Mordred” looked up from eating and cracked a grin. It liked the name his trainer gave to it. Lancelot sounded a little bit odd to the bug type so it was grateful the boy didn't choose that name. The Karrablast stood up and bowed before his owner, showing his respect for the boy. <I'm utterly grateful Sir Nathan. Mordred is a very fascinating name. I like it.>
Nathan broke into a smile. The small beetle looked delighted upon hearing his new name which made the boy happy. He gently picked up the Karrablast, lifting the bug from the ground and placed it on his shoulder. "I hope you're not afraid of heights."

This was Nathan’s first wild Pokémon battle ever and here came the magical creature, the mystic Hoothoot came flying in and landed on a branch a few yards away from the trainer. +I’m feeling quite feisty today.+ she said looking at the trainer with a vicious glare before flapping her wings and stayed in midair with her eyes straight on the bug-type. +Are you looking at me? Stop looking at me!+ she squawked getting slightly paranoid. It was finally her time, she spun in the air once before rushing right up and close with a tackle on Nathan’s starter. She screeched as she closed in really wanting to hurt the Karrablast. She had been just a little crazy but who cares, right?

The Hoothoot's sudden appearance surprised Nathan and Mordred. Fortunately, the small bug type managed to avoid the crazy owl's tackle by using his trainer's shoulder as a springboard and jumped on a tree. The Karrablast quickly hid between the leaves, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Even though it was his first battle, the clamping pokémon was doing pretty well.
Nathan took off the bag he got from Professor Winter and opened it. He started searching for his Pokédex and when he found, the boy aimed it at the Hoothoot. The red device let out a small beep before it started talking. "Well, hello there. I am Pokédex Version 6. What would you like to know?" Nathan's eyes widened in shock. Did this thing just talk? "Um, I would like to get some information about that pokémon over there."
The pokédex opened itself in the boy's hands, its small monitor started blinking and the Hoothoot's image appeared. "That's a Hoothoot. It's a dual normal/flying type that always stands on one foot. It also has a perfect sense of time so you could use it as a clock."
Dodged Tackle. Hiding on a tree.

::hoothoot:: Female - 5 Tackle - Growl - Foresight Crazy, Paranoid, Loyal, Fighter. Used Foresight to find Karrablast, flew into the tree She could not tell where the Karrablast had gone. She landed on the ground with a very confused look on her face. She was eyeing the tree where he was hiding but she was not able to spot the blue poke'mon. With a discouraged huff she shut her bright red eyes, only to open them a few moments later. They were glowing brightly and she easily saw the Karrablast with her foresight attack. "Kekekekekkekeke! There you are!" She shrieked and rushed foreword in a flurry, dropping feathers as she smacked into branches, trying to land on a branch above Karrablast. Who knows what she'd do once she got there? It was probably a safe bet that she herself didn't know what she was going to do.

Mordred wasn't expecting a Foresight attack from the Hoothoot and when the flying type flew right toward him, the Karrablast panicked. This owl's a flying type and he's a bug type. What a terrible match-up! The small beetle was about to jump off the tree when it heard his trainer's voice.
"Mordred! Don't be scared of that fat bird! Use Megahorn! It doesn't matter if flying types resists it! It's still strong enough!" shoute the trainer. The Karrablast obeyed the command and sprang forward, its horn glowing with a bright light, trying to stab the Hoothoot.

The Hoothoot was shocked to see the odd bug had came at her. The horn caught her chest feathers and she was sent back within a second from the impact. Though thanks to her type advantage it didn't take that much out of her. Getting back up she scowled. <You're gonna pay for that! I know you're trying to get my feathers! Will, I won't let you!> The crazy Hoothoot exclaimed. Paranoid that the Pokemon and Trainer wanted her beautiful feathers she screeched out a Growl at the two. Meant to be cute it was far from it. Then the Hoothoot geared up and threw herself at the bug in a Tackle attack.

The Karrablast's attack fell as it heard the Hoothoot's terrifying growl. It was quite scary since the bug knew this bird wasN't sane. Mad people are scary... The beetle quickly leaped into the air, dodging the Tackle by a hair's breadth and landed on the ground. It sticked out his tongue, trying to taunt the owl, before it shot an intimidating at it. Mordred was about to repeat its previous attack, Megahorn when Nathan stopped it. "Let's try Peck this time. It does normal damage." The blue insect nodded and jumped into the sky, trying to jab the owl with its strong horn.

Rolling back a few times, the Hoothoot flapped back up, shaking off the attack before a chill ran down her spine. <You-You thing!> She squawked and covered herself with her wings for a moment. She didn't like this, not at all. That thing could kill her. it could kill her! She just knew it after all, at least her paranoid mind thought so. After a few moments of taking in all the excitement, Hoothoot decided to run at the other Pokemon with a Tackle attack of her own.

Nathan was satisfied with his small pokémon's power. It was faring well against the Hoothoot despite the disadvantage in typing. "Okay, Mordred! Let the owl hit you! After that, use Leer and Peck again!"
The Karrblast took the damage, enduring the urge to swear at the idiotic bird for thinking that the beetle wanted to kill it. A true knight has to be calm and collected anytime and anywhere! Mordred glared right into the flying type's eyes, attempting to lower its defense to make it more vulnearable to the bug type's attack. When he was finished, Mordred started running towards the opponent, his tough horn lowered, trying to jab the bird.

Hit with leer & peck Used Tackle She twisted her head around, looking at the Karrablast from a new angle entirely as he leered. She thought he was rather funny looking, especially from this angle! Maybe if she was concentrating more on the battle her defenses would be up a little higher. But she wasn't, and while she was admiring this strange new outlook she was struck on the side of her head with the peck attack. It twisted her head back into a semi-normal position and she didn't look very happy. She squealed loudly and rushed foreword for another tackle attack, throwing as much of her body weight into it as she possibly could. "Incoming!" She shouted.

The Karrablast tried to dodge the Hoothoot's attack, but it wasn't fast enough and got hit by the Tackle. It was a little painful, but this didn't matter to the clamping pokémon; it had to win its first battle. Mordred, without waiting for Nathan's commands, leered at the bird again, attempting to lower its defense further, The beetle charged towards the owl, its hard horn slightly glowing as it used peck again.

{ def -3 } Female - 5 Tackle - Growl - Foresight Crazy, Paranoid, Loyal, Fighter. Hit with leer & peck Used growl & tackle The peck attacks weren't particularly annoying to the crazy Hoothoot, but the damage was starting to add up; and having lowered defenses made each peck attack worse than the one before. She twisted around, trying to slap the Karrablast with her stubby little wings, swatting away an annoying pest. "Shoo. Shoo little bug!" She taunted, parting her beak and letting out a menacing growl at the Karrablast. And then she pushed off with one foot, and then the other, trying to once more ram her body into the Karrablast. "Kekekekekekeke." She cackled.

The Karrablast raised a brow as he dodged the Hoothoot's wingslap. <I'm not little bug, madame. My name's Mordred.> the bug type corrected the bird. The beetle wanted to give the flying type a more proper introduction, but before he could introduce himself, the owl already started attacking. Mordred quickly covered his ears to avoid getting his attack lowered, but he couldn't dodge the Tackle this time either. The insect let out an annoyed growl before he started counterattacking. He gave the Hoothoot a sidelong glance before trying to jab his opoonent with his horn.

The crazy Hoothoot was taken aback by the leer. She never knew that a Karrablast could have such a look. The Hoothoot's defense went down due to the leer, the fear inside of her. The Karrablast was probably out to kill her. Yeah, that was it! The reason they came this way was just to kill her. Then the Bug tried pecking at her, the sharp ends of the bug's body jabbed her right in the feathers. Gasping that she finally figured it out she flapped her wings wildly in fear. <You! I will make sure your plans never go through! I will do what is right!> The deranged Hoothoot flew at the Karrablast in the air.
Now convinced that the bug was trying to kill her she was turning the tables. Crazed, stupid and just plain insane the Hoothoot was going to kill the bug before it could kill her. There was nothing wrong with this plan, nothing wrong at all. Coming in from the air the Hoothoot went in for a Tackle. She didn't even notice that her body was tiring out and weakening. Nope, she kept going.

The Karrablast turned away, showing its back to the Hoothoot and took the crazy pokémon's tackle. Looks like the beetle's tactic worked, it's hard exoskeleton took most of the damage. Mordred smirked as he bounced away from the owl thanks to it's attack. As sson as the insect landed on the ground, he shot a menacing glare at the flying type, trying to scare it. After the leer attack was finished, Mordred sprang forward, his horn lowered and glowing and targetted the Hoothoot's stomach with the peck. Hopefully, the bird will soon faint.

When Karrablast looked at her like that... it just sent shivers through her body and she felt weaker just from his gaze alone! She whimpered and thought for a moment to fly away. But then Karrablast smacked her with a peck attack and she had second thoughts. Although she felt like she was on the edge, she couldn't give up! She squawked loudly at the sky, as if calling to someone or some ancient powers. She turned her primal shouts into a growl, aimed directly at Karrablast as she flew rapidly towards him to tackle her body into him.

Mordred felt his attack drop when it heard the Hoothoot1s stupid growl and in the next moment, he was sent flying from the bird's tackle. The beetle managed to avoid crashing into a tree; he quickly turned around and stopped himself with its black, stubby legs and arms. The bug type was still holding onto the tree when it turned around, giving the flying type an intimidating leer. Then, Mordred pushed himself away from the tree, jumping towards the owl, targetting the Hoothoot's soft side with his tough horn.

Nathan patted the Karrblast's head, praising him for his good work. "Even though this was your first fight, you did pretty good." The trainer glanced at the unconscious pokémon, his brows furrowed, thinking about the future of the bird. A flying type might come in handy, but... the boy wasn't too fond of Hoothoots. The lad picked up his bug type and left the crazy owl, deciding against the capture of the Hoothoot. He might find something more interesting than this guy.

Level 7 / Male Pound / Growl / Helping Hand Bold, Extrovert, Fights for the Underdog, Has an Italian Accent stuck A soft-looking grey rodent was in trouble! The Minccino's head was stuck fast inside a fallen hollow log. His voice could be heard, but his words couldn't be discerned. They were just muffled cries. His hands were clawing at the wood of the log, trying to free himself. His tail was whipping back and forth in a panic. He had just stuck his head into the log to get at some nuts he had stored away! And now, for some reason, the hole was too small for his head and he just couldn't manage to free himself. He had no idea the trainer was anywhere near him, he couldn't hear or see a thing.
