s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra snickered mischievously as she invited Susumu via text message over to the Lab for their exchange. They'd been discussing how they both had pokemon that evolved by trading and how they should totally trade them just to evolve them. Totes legit plan, she thought. But the better part of the plan was that they were crashing the Lab; she hadn't even visited there anyway, having decided to go to the Ranger Station for her starter.
Meet outside the back of the lab at noon. ;) She sent to him, pocketing her cell phone before taking a bus to the Lab in question. She had in mind a few plans for how to prank the professor, and she suspected that it would be quite a bit of fun, especially with someone else. Doing it alone would've just made her feel foreveralone.
She brought along Keos with his Electrizer in his claws - still inside his pokeball, of course. Before long she arrived at the destination, sneaking to the side of the lab in the middle of any windows so that they wouldn't notice her.

Finally; an opportunity to evolve his Graveler finally came about. Susumu had Ken with him practically 24/7, finding the rock type to be one of his more reliable Pokemon, and the thought of trading it away to some stranger just to evolve it made him feel ridiculously nervous. In fact, he even resisted a little when Sierra was texting him about it. He had to relent though, giving in as he decided to trust her with the second Pokemon he ever owned. It just wasn't an easy thing, but he could get it out of the way.
The interesting part about this was that they decided to meet up at the lab; probably because of some degree of nostalgia when they met up at the Ranger Station. Then again, this was the place that he passed up when getting his own starter. He had to admit; the Lab made him curious as to what was inside. His phone stopped beeping after Sierra's last text as he got off the subway that dropped him off in Ile Electrique, and he took a shortcut through the route to skip over to the lab. It worked out, since he woke up early enough to make it on time.
Noon was still damn early though, at least to him. If he didn't have plans, he would probably be eating breakfast by now like the lazy teenager he was. Susumu could only pause as he reached the front of the lab, not out of breath, but just confused as he looked around. Ok, where was she? Here, but where are you? He texted back, leaning on the sign to the lab as everything outside gave him nothing but silence.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra waited impatiently in her place between two windows of the lab, decked out in winter wear to save herself from the bitter cold. She remembered when she'd been to the Ranger Station last; it was covered in grass and lush foliage, but now it was probably freezing cold and swathed in snow. Winter, why you do this? She could only forgive the season because it had so many holidays. She resigned herself to waiting as she planned out ways they could sneak in or perform pranks on the building. Already she had a list of cumulative pranks that made her smile with anticipation before she heard the alert of her phone.
Taking it out, she scanned his message quickly and typed a response almost as quickly. I'm in the back. Avoid being seen. She clutched the phone in both hands as she scanned the area, waiting for Susumu to make himself known. They had so much to do! But first things first - they'd trade their pokemon and watch triumphantly as they evolved.

Waiting impatiently next to the sign, Susumu felt the snow touch up his back in an attempt to penetrate him with cold. It was kind of working, but he was dressed warmly enough to shrug most of it off. Even then, after that brisk walk, he was feeling pretty good from the exercise so early in the day. His phone vibrated in his hand as he checked it with a curious look, smirking a little at her message. This turned into mission impossibru, did it? Fine with him, though he wasn't sure how to avoid being seen exactly. He glanced at the lab as he started walking around the lab, checking the windows for sign of life.
Actually, there he was. The professor was at his desk, pretty clear to see despite the barrier of half open blinds that hid parts of his body. He remembered seeing Winter on TV during the Power Plant event, making him flinch as he suddenly tip toed past him. All he could do was gulp, knowing that he was silent enough to not rouse any suspicion to look out of the window. With the threat gone, he kept creeping until he slowly reached the corner of the building. This should've been the back, but what if there was someone waiting to jump around the corner?
Back to the wall in a stiff hug, he sidled closer to the corner with a gulp. This was the only way he knew how to avoid being seen, and he looked friggin' suspicious at this point. Slowly he turned his head around the corner, eyes alert and ready to make him scream like a bitch at the first scare. Nope, just Sierra. He inwardly sighed as he walked up to join her, phone now in his pocket because he didn't want to keep his hands exposed to the cold. "And there you are. Long time no see." Yeah right, but he was grinning anyways as he walked up to her, not knowing what to expect at first.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra hugged her arms to herself to keep the cold out, her breath coming out in foggy clouds. It had been hard to adjust to the cold of Cheyenne after living in a sunny, warm town in Hoenn for a large part of her life, but at least she could survive. No response to her recent text was made, so she assumed he was sneaking closer. She tried to listen for the sound of his steps, but she didn't detect them since he was so far away. Only when he came closer and she saw him in his winter outfit did she hear the slight crunch of snow under his shoes. A welcoming, friendly smile traced her lips as she looked upon him, glad to see him as well. "You liar. We see each other all the time." She replied to that in a hushed voice and a laugh, fogging the air in front of her.
"Okay okay. I have an idea. We should pull some pranks on Professor Winter!" She leaned closer to Susumu as she whispered these things to him, finding it necessary to mask her voice so she wouldn't be heard. She knew that she was normally loud, which would be problematic if she wanted to remain undiscovered. She grinned at the thought of them wreaking havoc on the lab. "Oh but first things first. I have my Electabuzz here." She presented the pokeball for him to see, unsure of how the process would work. Would they just... exchange the balls? Or was it something more formal? Thinking that it was the former, she allowed him to take the sphere from her hand if he wished.

Oddly enough, Sierra was still in sneak mode with that hushed voice, despite how she was laughing. "Pfft, moment ruiner. It could've been dramatic and stuff." Lies, all of them. He grinned as fog spurted out of his mouth like smoke from a train. They came like a train, chuga chuga. It was time to actually talk this out though, since they first came here to evolve some things. Before they could get to that, Sierra blurted out her idea, instantly understanding why they were all in ninja mode now. Now that his interest was caught, he wanted to play along even more now.
"Pranks? I hope you came prepared, I got nothing." All he had was his bag of stuff and a brain full of wit, ready to be put out for use. Was it enough? He wasn't even sure, but he felt excited to give this game a try. He played along with her whispering routine, which should've scared many 14 year olds that ever intended to eavesdrop on their conversation. Then suddenly back to business, and she presented the Electabuzz's Pokeball with a sudden movement. Oh, that surprised him for a second. He wasn't so sure about this, but he trusted Sierra.
At least with Ken. He took quite a lot a work to actually crack open, but he was having the easiest time letting Sierra get away with things compared to everyone else he knew. "Aaand, here's my Graveler. Don't break him." He couldn't help but snort, taking her Electabuzz's Pokeball in his hand as he plopped Ken's sphere in hers. He didn't even need items to evolve, but Ken held an eviolite anyways since Susumu was too lazy to take it from him.
He'd be dammed if Sierra stole it from him. "I think they need experience for it to actually work." He mused, deciding it would be interesting to actually let the Electabuzz out to see what would happen. Did it evolve yet? Pokeball opened; a tall electric type looked cold as it was sent out, looking at the two trainers with confusion as he scratched his head. "That's still an Electabuzz...ok." Clearly they still had work to do here. <Why are you hanging out with such stupid people? You have me, Sierra.> Keos could only say, finding Susumu's little comment there to be words right out of Captain Obvious's mouth.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra hadn't realized what he was going for, so when he accused her of ruining the moment, she felt suddenly enlightened. She felt guilty for being stupid but oh well. "Oh trust me. It's gonna be dramatic." She reassured him, grinning with mischief. The mention that he didn't have anything to prank with merely made her shake her head. "I don't either. I had the idea just now." Breath smoked out of her mouth as she glanced around. "Don't worry. I have it all planned out." She smiled as laughing breaths billowed up in front of her face. And yes, many derps would have been had if a fourteen year old happened upon them.
"I'm sure I won't." Pikachu hat girl replied with a laugh. Sierra felt the cool surface of the Electabuzz's pokeball leave her hand before being replaced by Susumu's, which somehow had a slightly different feeling that she couldn't comprehend. Maybe it was the subtle mark of a trainer on their respective pokeballs. She held it firmly in her hands; she was normally a clumsy and careless person, but she respected Susumu enough to take care with his possessions - at least right now, when she was paying attention. She looked at it for a bit, examining the various scratches on it before Susumu suddenly remarked that they might need experience. "Really." She replied, watching as he released Keos from the depths of the pokeball. He stood there, suddenly looking way different since he was in the control of another trainer. "Yeah, so you're right." Sierra agreed, smirking at Keos as he simultaneously insulted Susumu and flirted with her at the same time. "Manners, Keos. You need some." She grinned at the Electabuzz. "Besides, Susumu's a nice guy. You'll get along."
She decided to release Ken as well, just to meet the rock-type. The Graveler exploded out of the ball in a burst of red, looking rather bewildered and uncomfortable with the icy climate as well - more because he was rock and the ice types just didn't favor him. He noticed Susumu facing him, then turned around and realized Sierra was standing there as well. <Who's this chick? She's dressed like a barbie.> He remarked, giving her a half disgusted look. Sierra was a bit taken aback by that comment before letting out a laugh. "Says the one with pointy rocks for a face." She laughed. Looking stunned, Ken replied, <Woah. A human that can understand me, and it has to be you.> He seemed even more disgusted by this revelation, crossing his arms and huffing. Of course, he didn't yet know that he was in her custody yet. Sierra smirked at that comment, but didn't reply.
She contemplated just feeding them rare candies, but that was too boring. "We should battle with them." She proposed, entertained by the thought. "Quietly, that is." She added, giving him a knowing smile.

"Hmmm..." Impulse pranking idea when none of them were prepared? He was actually hoping she had a plan with this one since he hadn't really thought about pranks in a while. It would come to them, he was sure. "We can probably not mess this up." He commented with an encouraging smile, showing that he was up for it and as ready as could be. Keos was out and making some kind of snarky comment, from what he could see from Sierra's reaction. All the blonde could do was give the Electabuzz a blank stare, not really understanding how one could take out a language from the various 'Electabuzz' chants that came out of his mouth.
Keos wasn't very phased by what Sierra said, instead crossing his arms as his tail flickered with a bit of amusement. So she thought he'd get along with this 'Sususmu' guy, did she? He'd make sure to prove that wrong, thinking of a few little mischievous ideas of his own in order to make himself look good. "Not sure about this, but I think I saw him as an Elekid..." Susumu mused, trying to think back to the Ranger Station. He did end up battling Sierra there too, back when his Bibarel was still a Bidoof. Man, it was hard to imagine having such tiny Pokemon back then. It seemed so surreal and like a dream, or a far off memory. <You think?> Come to think of it, Keos vaguely remembered the guy himself. Wasn't he supposed to be BAD or something? What happened to change that?
It only gave him a little more motivation to test him out, having a bit of a mischievous glint in his eyes as he decided to keep his intents hidden for the moment. He'd spring them on Susumu when the timing was ripe. Right then, Ken was sent out, looking as large and bulky as ever. Susumu felt weird looking at the Graveler besides Sierra, like it was an uncomfortable sightseeing her in control of him for once. "Ken, that's Sierra. Play nice." He grinned at his own Pokemon, though a bit uneasily as he tried to think positively. Evolution was cool. Evolution was cool. Right, it was cool. Ultimately he was doing this for Ken.
<What does that mean, rocky? Have issues with cute girls?> Keos taunted, finding a different kind of moment where he could at least look good in front of Sierra. Already he was in a battle mood, and this was only helping to give them a little motivation. "Uh, yeah. We should." Susumu blinked, realizing that he had no friggin' idea what kind of attacks an Electabuzz knew. Pokedex out, he was scanning it for something that Sierra probably would've taught it. No electric type moves; he knew that was useless already. The non-electric type moves an Electabuzz could learn, according to the dex, was Quick Attack, Swift, and Low Kick. Well crap, normal type moves sucked. Low Kick would work on his own Pokemon though, for sure.
"Show me what you can do, Keos." Susumu decided, half hoping that he knew some fancy egg or TM moves that the Pokedex wasn't telling him. If the Electabuzz messed this up, then ok, Low Kick sounded smart. <Sierra, I hope you win!> Keos gave her a cheesy peace sign, grinning as he said that. When he turned serious about the battle, he leered right at the Graveler to lower those nasty defenses. His gaze was intense compared to his previous demeanor, which he hoped would catch the Graveler off guard. Right when it looked like Keos was going to attack, instead his tail flicked yet again, and a burst of electricity was shot at Susumu's shoe...which Susumu oddly didn't react to.
'Eh? Those rubber boots or something?' Keos wondered to himself, perplexed about how that didn't get a reaction. The Electabuzz looked a little distracted, and Susumu couldn't help but blink. Did Keos just try to attack? He thought he saw a flash of light--but it was only for a moment. Feeling like his hair was getting oddly static-filled; he brushed his hair down with a swift smoothing motion so it wouldn't stand out.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n "We won't!" Sierra assured Susumu, grinning at him before returning her attention to Keos. He was acting sort of rude to the blond, but it wouldn't be for much longer. The electric type seemed to be thinking of something bad, considering his expression. Sierra hoped that Susumu would have the guts to control him despite that he was her own pokemon. Technically, they had traded, so they were in their respective custodies. Susumu's suggestion that he saw him as an Elekid struck her a little. She only vaguely remembered that first encounter with him in the Ranger Station, and it was a wonder she recalled being there at all. "Probably." She responded, a cheeky grin lighting her features.
Sierra giggled at Susumu's stern command of Ken to play nice. The boulder passed a glance at his trainer, a smug frown on his rocky face. He muttered to himself, hating being reprimanded when he was just speaking his opinion. Keos suddenly questioned him, causing him to turn and face the insolent Electabuzz. <Implying that she's a cute girl!> He returned, balking at how forward he was with that compliment. Had he no shame? He heard the laughter of the girl next to him at their exchange and merely scowled. Who cared about girls? Girls were icky.
Seeing that Susumu had his pokedex out, the girl took out her own, realizing that was a good idea. She pointed it towards the boulder, who stepped out of the way of the pokedex's scanner when she was trying to ascertain his stats and attacks. She made a sound of frustration and amusement. "C'mon, stand still." She giggled, eventually able to keep the pokedex on him long enough for a full scanning. The rock huffed when he realized that she was able to do it, crossing his arms with immaturity. Sierra stared at the moves; lots of ground type moves, a few rock type things... ooh, Fire Blast. Now that sounded deadly.
She heard Keos' call and smiled at him. "Play fair, okay?" She called back. Ken reluctantly took a few steps to go in front of her, hesitant to continue annoying them when Susumu could easily punish him later for it. The Leer riled him up a bit, causing him to return with a glare of his own. There was a sudden spark, causing Sierra to look up just as Susumu smoothed down his hair. Hmm, nothing out of the ordinary. It seemed their turn was up.
"Go for a Fire Blast. And a defense curl." Sierra commanded, not the type to just allow him to do what he wanted - especially considering the way he was acting. Despite that, Ken didn't want to follow her orders. <What if I don't wanna?> He retaliated, smirking at Sierra before choosing his own moves - Rock Polish and Mega Punch, because he really wanted to punch that stupid Electabuzz in the face. After sharpening the edges on his hide, he stomped towards Keos and aimed a solid fist straight at his nose. Sierra realized that he'd blatantly ignored her command. "Hey, don't just ignore me!" She snapped at the boulder, hand clenching into a fist.

What an obnoxious hulk of a rock, taking up nothing but the precious space around them. Keos snorted at how Ken was acting, crossing his arms as his tail flickered from side to side in a debate. It wasn't as if he wanted the Graveler to fall for Sierra, but he didn't want her being put down either. Her poor honor didn't need this kind of abuse! <Sure you aren't a 'bear'?> How in the world did Keos know about a term involving giant gay males? Don't ask. Susumu could tell that the Pokemon weren't getting along, and honestly he didn't expect them to. Not with Ken's personality, making him hard to get along with.
At least in double battles he wasn't too bad, especially compared to Jenna. Now she was the real trouble maker of the team, and Susumu would've hated trading her to anyone else. She was his problem, no one else's. It was pretty amusing seeing Ken scanned like that, and Susumu could only imagine the surprise she'd have at his moveset. It caught a lot off guard, but he really did care about Ken. Enough to spoil him with special moves and items. At Sierra's command, Keos couldn't help but chuckle and shake his head. Play fair? Fine, he could do that. Besides, this boulder was pissing him off anyways. Susumu could only cringe at the command of Fire Blast--well shit, that was really going to suck. "Keos, don't take the hit!" Susumu warned, not wanting to see that happening anytime soon. Or at least on the first turn, sheesh. Keos sensed urgency in Susumu's voice and braced himself for fire, but instead got a punch to the face. <H-Hey!> Damn, he braced himself for the wrong thing. His face was twisted from that one impact, skidding as he struggled to stand upright. Looking fine except for the injury to his face, he was ready to retaliate. "Mega Punch. Great." It was Ken's signature move, the egg move he came with. Kind of ridiculous how much the Graveler favored that move sometimes.
What else did Keos know? Glancing at his Pokedex, he felt like he did something wrong. Sierra scanned his Pokemon specifically and knew his TM move, right? He was looking at the general movelist for the species. Well shit, he messed that up. He did a quick scan of Keos to keep up with the program, and a few interesting things popped out of nowhere. Light Screen would actually help with Fire Blast, and shit it was just Low Kick and still Normal type moves. "Light Screen and Low Kick." Keos would be more reasonable, right?
With Ken being an ass, then yes, he'd get more into it. The Electabuzz took on a sturdy looking posture as he held his hands out in front of him, the antennae on his head crackling with electricity as a new barrier came forth from the palms of his hands. The new screen looked rather transparent and useless against physical strikes, but it would help with the elemental things. <Think you're so smart by ignoring Sierra?> The Electabuzz asked with a mischievous glint in his eyes, running up towards him with a foot ready to meet some ass. <She knows me, you idiot.> It was a careless piece of advice that he couldn't help but give out as he made the kick. If it worked, even with the eviolite, it was gonna hurt.

Well, at the very least one specific Pokémon was flying by, trying to find the new Ash Ketchum when he spotted the two trainers fighting. It seemed that the blond had some work cut out for him, using an electric type against a ground type, but he seemed to be holding his own just fine.
He felt that maybe he should go and greet them while they battled. And immediately, he flew down to say hi to the two foes. >Woah?! You two are having a trainer battle?! So cool! I wish I could do that one day!< The Ho-Oh said as he flapped his wings vigorously in front of the two in excitement. >You are so cool. So cool!< He said out loud before he, by mistake, shot a large heat wave at the two foes... Defeating both instantly in the battle.
Even though the Graveler was resistent to fire, this Ho-Oh was in an incredibly unrealistic and hax type level. There was absolutely no way he'd 'not' faint a foe with his attacks. And also little way he would miss for that matter. He was the true definition of hax!

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n <What? A bear?> Ken hardly had any idea what Keos was talking about, and he probably didn't want to know, so he shrugged off the question. Anyways, battle time. Sierra felt frustrated at Ken's bad behavior already, wondering if she'd said anything wrong. Pfft, no, obviously the rock was just being a mean rock. She crossed her arms and tapped her foot impatiently as she watched Keos' face get bashed in. Poor Electabuzz, but their pokemon were both fair game.
Sierra knew the effects of Light Screen, having taught the TM to Keos herself, but she didn't really know what moves were effected by it. Vaguely she remembered that there were two kinds of attacks, but... blah, so complicated. She had crammed for those tests in high school. Sierra watched with her pokedex held near her collarbone as Keos retaliated according to Susumu's commands, glad that her own pokemon wasn't acting so rashly as Ken was. She smiled at Keos' comments, at times glad about how calm and blunt he was.
This was bad, though. The pokedex told her, as the Low Kick smashed into Ken's rugged behind, that Low Kick, a fighting type move, was supereffective against the rock-type Ken. This new information was pretty cool, reminding her that she really should use her pokedex more often. Ken let out a howl of pain before landing back on the ground with a slam, narrowing his eyes at Keos. Without even waiting for her to command, he spat a disgusting Mud Sport at Keos before lifting his foot to cause a Magnitude. Just then, Sierra looked up, prepared now to command. "Ken, can you- hey, I didn't even say anything this time!" She protested in a half annoyed, half amused voice, unsure how she should feel about this. Ken, pretending to ignore her, smashed his meaty foot into the ground, causing it to ripple. It was a really strong quake, causing Sierra to yelp with surprise as the ground thundered beneath them, shaking the very foundations of the lab. "Crap, is he gonna notice?" Sierra shouted above the shaking. But just then, the most borbulent, sibtacular thing happened.
A sudden glint in the air, and everything felt very warm, different from the bitter cold of the snow. The sight of a beautiful, scarlet feather out of the corner of her eye prompted Sierra to look up, gasping with utter surprise as she took in the incredible form of Ho-Oh himself. The mere sight of the beautiful bird, which she had only seen on television and heard rumors about, caused her heartbeat to quicken. She was enthralled by the beauty and grace of the legendary as he came close enough for her to feel as though she was getting a fake tan. Snow melted beneath the bird's heat. He spoke in an ancient dialect that she couldn't decipher, and for some reason, he seemed very excited; maybe he deemed them worthy of his praise? Sierra was too stunned to even move other than turn her head as suddenly burning flames left the Ho-Oh, aiming straight for Keos and Ken. The burst of flame caused her to cry out with fear as she stumbled backwards, surprised at that sudden attack. The blast was white-hot, leaving her wondering if their pokemon even survived.
"Keos? Ken? Susumu?!" Sierra called out, taking in the sight of the pokemons' scorched bodies laying in a huge ring of ash. She gave the Ho-Oh a horrified glance before rushing towards the two pokemon, checking both to see if they were still alive. Heartbeat, heartbeat... yeah, she could feel something. "They're alive..." She breathed, unfathomably glad that the god-like creature hadn't killed them. Watching it fly away, she had to question, "Did we do something wrong...?"
Meanwhile, Winter had caught sight of the Ho-Oh as well and, in his excitement, rushed out of the double doors of the lab with a large camera dangling about his neck. He attributed the earlier earthquake he felt to the huge bird, since that makes total sense. "Ho-Oh, come back!" He cried out, not even seeing Sierra and Susumu from where he was in front of the building. Thank goodness.

Keos grimaced as the Mud Sport coated his body, eyes looking irritated as he was left with nasty moist mud dripping from his face. It was a terrible look for him, and yellow didn't look very well with brown at all. What was he, some kind of camouflaged army wasp? Not only that, but it felt extremely uncomfortable to have this kind of filth on him, realizing how terrible he must've looked to any possible female that was watching him. <Really? Was that necessary?> He growled at the Graveller, not realizing that it actually wasn't necessary at all when electric type moves didn't work on ground types. That meant that Ken did it purely out of spite, and the Electabuzz was generally getting those vibes from the hulk of a boulder anyways.
It was all a bit of an embarrassment on Susumu's part as he watched Ken disobey Sierra over and over. He could tell that she was getting pretty annoyed at this point, but there wasn't much he could do about it. Ken had been rather rebellious and spoiled ever since he was a young Geodude, and Susumu never was one for discipline. It wasn’t something he was exactly good at, so easily walked over most of the time, especially by his Pokémon. It usually ended up being a problem, though he was slowly working on finding a solution for it. "Oh...crap." Susumu gulped as the Magnitude was used, giving Keos plenty of damage as the trembling ground stirred everything going on around them. Naturally the tools in the lab were trembling, catching the attention of the excited Professor while birds flew out of their hiding places, as if in fear of some kind of natural disaster.
There was so much going on that it was impossible to not notice the situation, but let's make it even more impossible to not notice. A giant Ho-Oh appeared out of nowhere, looking as brilliant as ever as its multi-colored feathers beckoned the rays of the sun towards them. It actually made Susumu excited just by seeing it; as the phoenix bird happened to be one of his favorite mystical legends as a kid. Seeing it like this was a rare occurrence, feeling so lucky to have even seen the Pokémon. Sadly the thought of taking a picture of it didn't even occur to him, and all of a sudden an intense wave of heat blinded him. Arms raised to his face as he winced from the bright light, both Pokémon remained fainted on the ground as he heard Sierra's voice calling out from the site of the disaster.
"Shit." As the flames died out, Susumu could only hiss that out after that intense moment of shock, just barely absorbing the fact that their Pokémon had been attacked. What was the meaning of this, and from a legendary bird of all things? "You ok...?" It was hard to see Sierra at first when his eyes were only showing him blue and green spots, but they eventually faded after blinking a couple of times. Sierra was checking on the pair, leaving him to nervously watch as she gave the report. "Thank god." It was a shared breath of relief between the two trainers, and their heads both turned to watch the mystical Ho-Oh fly away into the skies.
Did they do something wrong? Susumu wasn't really sure, but Ho-Oh was a Pokémon that symbolized many things. Rebirth and the start of a new life. He could've been thinking too much into it, but he wondered if it was some kind of blessing in the bird's own way. Dazed as he stared off at the bird's retreating form, he snapped out of it when he heard the Professor's loud shouts. By some miracle they weren't seen after ALL OF THIS, and Susumu gave Sierra a quick glance. "Hurry." It was a bit of an order as he returned Keos into his Pokeball, scampering quickly to the side of the Pokémon lab with deep breaths, hiding from the Professor as the man was distracted with his picture taking.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n <Completely necessary.> Ken responded, grinning with triumph at how much of a mess Keos looked just then. That should've taught him not to mess with him, but just to top it off, he would use a Magnitude as well.
Then the Ho-Oh thing happened, and now Sierra was just trying to ensure that Keos and Ken hadn't sustained major injuries in the great legendary's attack. "Yeah, I'm okay." Sierra responded, shielding a cough with her arm. The smoke was swiveling upwards in small plumes, but luckily there weren't a lot of things around here to burn except some sticks and not to mention their pokemon. They remained silent after Sierra asked the question. She did remember once reading that any trainer that saw Ho-Oh with their own eyes would have a blessing and become a trainer of great stature; she could only hope it was true. It never said the legendary would smoke their pokemon before it left - or maybe it did and she just forgot about it.
The loud shouts alerted Sierra as well, and she returned the glance. "Right." She whispered back, returning Ken in a swift motion as she raced to the side of the building and stood there, concealed from the searching gaze of the professor.
After a few minutes of fruitless pursuit, Winter gave up on trying to find Ho-Oh. With a sigh, he checked his pictures. Well, there weren't any vivid ones, but he'd caught a few of the bird's retreating silhouette and figured it was enough. He realized how cold it was and hurried back inside the laboratory, returning to work.
Sierra waited a few moments after hearing the door shut before she let out an uneasy sigh. "Um, should we try again?" She inquired, getting the feeling that they didn't get enough experience from that short little battle to evolve. How annoying.

Upon hearing her voice, he didn't have much to worry about now. Sure they had the 'Professor Winter' situation, but the lab professor was probably too thrilled by what happened to really bother with the two trainers. The smoke rose up into the sky, spreading away into the clouds to taint them with its dark coloration. It was an intense thing to look at; if the remains of that attack were this impressive, it only made him wonder even more about the mystery of Ho-Oh. It was something to look into and appreciate. He wasn't one to hit the books though, deciding that maybe he'd casually look it up on a wiki later.
As soon as the Professor gave up and returned into the warmth of the lab, Susumu let out a heavy breath he wasn't aware of even holding in. Not that the Professor would've had such keen ears that he'd pick up on their nervous breathing, but his body seemed to think that not breathing was appropriate until it was over. "That could've been bad." He commented with a turn of his head around the corner, confirming that the Professor was inside.
Finish the battle? It was true that they hadn't really gotten far in what they started, but it would be nice to accomplish something before going nuts around the place. "Eh, I guess..." He looked at Sierra as if her look would give him an answer, but that was stupid. He was supposed to be the one answering the question. "Yeah, let's go for it." He answered more clearly this time, catching himself on that little habit of his this time.
Taking Keos's Pokeball in his hands, he dug around in his bag a little and found what he was looking for. Under all of his usual pile of crap he managed to find the Revive item that he was looking for. Fancy pantsy Pokeball technology meant that items could be used without letting Pokemon out, and he was abusing that right now. The Pokemon within was revived, but Keos wasn't completely healed. It was hard getting over that fainted status after all, and Susumu did feel sympathetic towards the Pokemon as he let him out.
<Ugh...> Keos moaned, literally just waking up as Susumu sent him out. The Electabuzz looked as if he was ready to fall back down, before catching himself with a huff. The revive took a few seconds to remind his body that he had energy to move around, but he felt good. Sort of. What hell did that Ho-Oh do to them? He winced at the sight of Sierra and Susumu, realizing that he was still under the possession of the wrong trainer. <Great.> He groaned, sighing and crossing his arms. They were going to get this over with soon, right? Keos hoped so, wanting to return to Sierra's side with open arms as soon as he could.
ooc; lulz, half health battle. why not. we already put effort in our other posts. Though if you want to put Ken at full health, go right ahead. :'D

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n "Yeeeup." Sierra agreed in a casual whisper, letting down her guard slightly after confirming that Winter was back inside the building. And then yeah, the battle. The question that would determine their lives forever. He answered a little wishy-washily at first, but when he turned around and looked at her, he seemed to grow more resolute. Sierra wondered, was it the look in her eyes or something? Whatever. "Sweet." She answered carefreely, digging around in her bag for a Revive as well. I wish I could say that her items were arranged in organized chaos, but the thing was, she could barely even remember having Revives in the first place, much less finding them. Eventually, though, she felt the unmistakable sharpness of a Revive and picked one out of there, mentally taking note of its location. She used it on the fallen Ken, watching as it took effect and revived him up to half health like it said it would.
Ken woke up groggily, grimacing slightly with pain. That was the worst burn, really, he'd ever received, and for goodness' sake he was a rock. Rocks were born from fire in the first place. He looked down at the scorched ground, then around, wondering what the hell happened. <What're we doing?> He demanded. <If we're gonna fight, I don't wanna.> He crossed his arms with a huff.
Sierra bit her bottom lip slightly. "Yeah, battle." She confirmed. Then she came up with an idea. "You know, the faster you fight, the sooner you go back to Susumu." She remarked, hoping to win the boulder over. That clicked with him, making him practically gain new energy. So he wasn't going to be stuck with her forever? Heck yeah! He aligned himself for battle, glaring at Keos with determination.
Opening her pokedex again, she loaded his attack set. "Defense Curl and Fire Blast." She repeated the first command again, nervously hoping that the Graveler would obey her this time. And he would. Ken decided that it'd be easier, this turn, to just obey her. He curled into a defensive ball before unfurling and gathering the heat inside his body. Flames mixed with molten rock were both expelled from his jaws in a 5-pronged formation, almost like a stick figure floating towards Keos. It was like a flaming apparition, yet exuding heat instead of a chill. Sierra reflexively shielded herself with her arms from the heat, wincing from the light of it.

Both Pokemon looked pretty beat up after Ho-Oh's majestic appearance, but luckily the Revive gave them both enough energy to last a little while longer. Naturally it would leave their battle a little shorter than usual, and it wouldn't be nearly as climatic as they probably would've wanted. Oh well, it would at least get the job done. "Sheesh, Ken..." Susumu felt embarrassed just seeing the Graveler put up a debate with Sierra, feeling like a failure of a trainer just because of that.
At least Sierra had a talent with Pokemon, managing to talk him through it. Ken really must've disliked Sierra if he was that excited over a sentence like that, making Susumu hold a poker face in the background. He was not about to comment on something like this, lest he somehow offend the girl in some way. Keos and Ken were definitely glaring at each other as if they were ready to slap their shit up. Susumu could tell that neither would last very long, but hey, they had plans after this battle. He had no reason to make it a stall war just to force a friend to stay with him.
"Oh geez, Fire Blast? As if you weren't burned enough." Susumu felt bad that Keos was going to have to put up with this one, despite the move normally having so-so accuracy. It was more than likely to hit most of the time, and right now Keos didn't appear to be in a dodging mood. <This...is gonna suck, isn't it?> Even though Ho-Oh's attack made this seem like child's play, the Fire Blast was still rather impressive due to its sheer size. Keos felt warm just by looking at it, and it was all aimed right at him as if it was going to embrace him in a steaming hot hug.
Once more, the proud Electabuzz was left to be harassed by the flames that licked his body all over. Before he was a bright and confident Electabuzz, but now looked like he just got back from being roasted on an open fire. Cue cliché holiday song. "Keos, you'll have to hit him where it hurts. Leer and Low Kick." It was their best option at this point, and if this didn't knock the Graveler out, then Sierra was going to win this one.
<No problem.> Keos wasn't the most fond of Susumu, but Ken's ass needed a good kick. With a haughty leer towards that crumbled up mess of a statue, Keos did some leg stretches to prep for the move. Once he felt good and ready, he made his charge towards the Graveler. <Think fast, bigass.> He said it smoothly, enjoying how it sounded like a rhyme when he slid at Ken like a baseball player going for a homerun. Low Kick, pow pow!

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra wasn't a weak girl by any means, so the little exchange she had with Ken really didn't mean much to her. But Susumu's acknowledgement of Ken's behavior did satisfy her a little.
When Susumu commented about her choice in attacks, she realized just what he meant and felt slightly bad. After all, it was her own pokemon. "Sorry Keos!" She cried out just before the terrifying wave of flames washed over him. It left him in a severely weakened state; even Sierra from far away could tell. They retaliated with a Leer, chipping away at Ken's defenses. It also gave Low Kick a bit of a punch - well, if it was going to hit, anyway. And it didn't, because Ken was determined enough to win that he leapt straight over the arrogant Electabuzz. <Too slow!> He laughed just as arrogantly, landing with a puff of dust on the other side of the electric type. Honestly, he didn't know how he did it. The reckless act of attempting to jump that high was the only thing that saved him.
Sierra was only shocked for a moment before she thought PROACTIVELY. "Get him with a Mega Punch, Ken!" She commanded with excitement. True, Ken was Susumu's and Keos was hers, but for the sake of the battle she acted like their roles had switched. Ken obeyed her willingly, rushing towards the Electabuzz with an incoming fist. <Sucka!> He grinned, thrusting it forward.

Not that her apology really made him feel better on the inside, Keos winced and nodded at Sierra for her sentiments. It still mattered, even if he didn't feel like it did at this very moment. He was still in an intense battle with Ken, taking up a majority of his concentration as he thought of all of the ways he could pull this off. He wasn't thinking negatively at all, gaping as this giant boulder managed to leap right over him. How heavy was this guy anyways? Balking at the sight of the living leaping statue, he was naturally a prime target for whatever was coming next.
Susumu wasn't as surprised, used to seeing Ken being a flighty thing despite his weight. Ken might've been a big rock, but none of that was fat. "Keos, snap out of it!" The warning was given too late, as by the time Keos had stopped gasping at what was going on, Ken was already in his face with that fist of his. With a yelp, the Electabuzz's face was smashed in a way that Ken probably would've enjoyed. The force of the move left Keos sliding across the ground on his back, completely knocked out from the battle.
Keos reminded Susumu of a fallen warrior when he saw the limp figure on the ground, still clutching the Electrizer in his right hand as if it had some use to him. Sure, Keos was not a Pokémon that Susumu owned, but the trainer couldn't help but feel bad for the Pokémon. He had it rough that battle, for sure. With the battle over, the Electrizer started to whirl around and cackle as both Pokémon gained enough experience for an evolution! Keos started to grow while in his fainted condition, a healing white light basking him in the comfort of its embrace as he started to twitch and wake up. Slowly standing up as this energy filled him up, the once smooth and flattering Keos became a large and hairy man.
Not quite, but that's how Susumu would describe it if he had to. "That's...really cool." Susumu couldn't help but stare as the light faded off, never seeing a Pokémon grow so big in such a short amount of time. Keos was still as weak as ever, but the evolution gave him enough health to snap him back into consciousness. He moved his arms around, testing out his new figure and trying to adjust to the new center of balance. Still very odd, but he'd adapt. <H-How do I look?> Keos couldn't help but feel nervous, looking at Sierra as he asked that. He literally had no idea what he looked like, but he felt hairy! So so hairy!

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra watched with growing intensity as Ken bashed Keos' face in with his fist. Yowch, that looked like it hurt - at least to Keos. To Ken, that felt like happiness materialized. He rubbed the fist with satisfaction as he remained where he stood, watching the fallen figure of the Electabuzz. Suddenly, the electric pokemon glowed, and Ken realized that he, too, was glowing and changing forms. If Susumu pressed B, he would've reluctantly stopped, but that would've been foolish. In no time, he became one half of Chuck Norris' balls. All he needed now was a big black destroyer, and he'd be complete.
"Woah!" Sierra exclaimed, her eyes glowing as she took in the sights of their gigantic evolved pokemon. This was definitely worth it, even with Ho-Oh coming in and nearly endangering all of their lives. So worth it. Keos asked her how he looked, and she didn't even have to pause to think of a word. "Super duper awesome!" She cried out a little too loudly, before covering her mouth with both hands. Had Professor Winter heard? By a stroke of luck, he hadn't. Lowering her voice, she continued, "I mean, super duper awesome!" in a whisper.
Meanwhile, Ken trudged towards Susumu, a satisfied look on his face. <I look awesome, don't I?> He posed in ways that gigantic snake rocks shouldn't pose, then straightened up when he realized that he was still in Sierra's grasp. <Hey, so when am I going back to you?> He inquired, crossing his arms flippantly. Sierra heard the remark and was reminded of the promise. "Ooh, right. Here." Sierra took aim at Susumu and tossed Ken's ball to him.
