sam grimaced, and with a loud moan curled into the small jacket that barely held her body heat in. the small girl hadn't thought ahead, and now she was suffering. not only did she forget to pack half of her warmer clothes (who needs extra clothing when you're on a pokémon journey, anyway?) she had left most of her spare money on a dresser, along with a majority of her food. she had miscalculated and brought along the wrong amount, and that was dwindling downwards; faster than normal because of her rations being shared with the little spinarak that weaved up and down about her feet.
she would have progressed to the first route in this nation already, had the nice man who had ported her and several others across the sea towards this strange new region not mentioned the ranger station. the ranger station wasn't far from their stopping place, he had said, giving haphazard instructions to the dozen on board before practically shoving them off of the boat. sadly, the directions weren't that easy to her - perhaps it was the adrenaline pumping through her veins or maybe it was just because she was half asleep, or maybe even because of the amount of fog that covered the area - and she ended up several times lost and confused. the few signs that were scattered about only confused her more, and a few times she even had to hunker down and rest a bit.
her spinarak, georgia, was not as tired and confused as her. to the little bug, all that mattered was that she was free! she could practically taste the freedom! she would crawl away from her trainer and friend, only to glance back and chitter at her to hurry along. and so this went on, for a number of hours, until sam was sure she had gotten frostbite and georgia was sure that she had gone to heaven.
it was only then that mother nature decided the game was up, and showed them the clear fork in the road that the ferryman had described. two clear signs were set up in front of her: lab or ranger station. a lab had always seemed too formal to the young trainer - besides, the ferryman had said nothing about a lab to her. perhaps it was old, or run-down, or..? she briefly stood there, pondering which path to take.
but georgia would not have any waiting, and she chittered angrily for a minute before heading off in the direction of the ranger station. walking up to it, she wondered if it was really a ranger station or if it was more of a carnival. she cleared her throat, shifting her coat and shouting, "HEY! ANYONE HOME?"

"NO. GET OUT." God damn these kids, making her feel old as she shook her head as Mirai Nikki was playing on the TV in the background. She had managed to get some of her nerdier ranger friends to start watching the horror anime, but they didn't seem to like it as much. What a shame, nothing was more pleasant than watching a middle school girl stalk a pathetic boy that cried a lot while using many sharp objects to manipulate others to get her way. It was pretty hot for her tastes. Her Cofagrigus chuckled at her trainer's bitterness, arms slithering like multiple snakes as the coffin Pokemon dragged herself out of the tent, giving the stranger an eerie look from the opening.
"Cofaaaag?" It asked creepily, hand stretching out as if it wanted to touch Sam's face, even trying to grasp at her hair in a teasing manner. The Pokemon enjoyed bumping into someone else's personal space, especially when it came to new guests. This Spinarak owner was going to have to do something interesting if she wanted to get inside.
"Ok, ok. It's on a commercial. I'm ready. I have a good boob day, and today is friggen' awesome." The ranger put on her pirate bandana as she hid behind the Cofagrigus, peering out and adding another pair of eyes that were staring out at Sam. Looming. Creepy. Ominous. "You called?" She asked in a teasing voice, preventing the trainer from busting her way inside by blocking the entrance.

"NO. GET OUT." sam sighed. was she really that bad? she took a shower before she left and she made sure to get out her cleanest pair of clothes and she had eaten and oh god what on earth did she do to make this person hate her already and oh my go - her stream of panic ceased to be when she watched the cofagrigus float out of the trainer's station. the only pokémon she had ever really seen were those little baby pokémon that wandered around her hometown, and seeing this large.. coffin-thing left her feeling dumbstruck.
unknowing what exactly that pokémon was (she had only been educated in johto and the occasional kanto pokémon back home, not.. whatever region this was. was it native to cheyenne?), she simply stared at it, interested as it messed up her hair. "cool…" she breathed, even as it crowded around her. thank goodness she wasn't claustrophobic. even as the ranger came out, her eyes were still intently fixed upon the ghost pokémon.
not even peering out behind the cofagrigus could scare her out of the amazed state, and when the trainer sung, "you called?" she could only direct her answer towards the coffin. "is that.. yours?" the implication, of course, was that she was amazed. and she was; she couldn't wait until the day her little georgia evolved.

Angela perked up at the comment, a bit surprised that the new trainer wasn't as freaked out as others would've been. She chuckled though, pleased enough with the reaction as she nudged the Cofagrigus with her elbow to move out of the way. Angie-chan did so with a giggle, arms retreating into her coffin as she leaned herself against the wall, waiting to scare unsuspecting guests that wandered in here.
"That's my Angie-chan, she's a doll." The ranger winked at the girl, holding the door open to let Sam in to escape from the cold. There was an indoor heater laying around, keeping the place rather toasty as she stifled a yawn with her hand, glancing over at a table that held a Pokeball and a starter pack.
"Anyways, if you're here for a Pokemon...I have one ready. I'm a magical girl, what can I say." She giggled as she directed the girl's attention over to the table with a point of her finger. It was a weak level 3 that she found, but it was fitting since this trainer happened to already have a Pokemon on hand. Things worked out!
