Erin's shoes felt worn and thin by the time she reached the sign post that pointed to the lab and the Rangers. It was a chilly day, and her coat wasn't doing a good job of keeping her warm. She exhalled into her hands to warm them up, rubbing them together as she looked between the two places. If she went to the lab, would the Professor have a Pokémon she even wanted?
The Rangers were even riskier. She could end up with a Pokémon she hated. Still, did the Pokémon have a choice in who picked them? Probably not as much as they liked. Frowning to herself, she withdrew a coin out of her pocket-- just a simple penny-- and flipped it up into the air.
Her breath caught in her throat, watching it fly and twirl. Heads, the Lab. Tails, the Rangers. Fate would decide... although, Fate and her really weren't friends at all, she reflected in the breif moment the penny landed in her hand. She slapped the penny over on the back of her other hand, and closed her eyes. In truth, she was afraid of the answer and the uncertainty.
She took a deep breath as she lifted her hand from the coin and peeked open an eye to see what the coin wanted her to do.
Tails.
She frowned, dithering on the choice, and decided that maybe Fate had fluked. It wasn't that she didn't like the Ranger choice, it was just that she really couldn't choose and was so unsure of herself that she couldn't take such a definite answer without reason. She flipped it again for good measure, but got tails again. She supposed that decided it, as she tucked her freezing fingers into the baggy coat and headed down the road towards the Ranger station. The huge tent was intimidating at first, but she forced herself to head in anyway.
Her maturing voice cracked when she stammered out a loud, anxious, “I'm h-here for a Pok-kEmon!”

Ranger Nort and Latex
How creepy; the lights in the Ranger Station were all shut off, as if there was some kind of power outage in the tent. That was fine, since it was still relatively bright outside, but to be fair tents weren't known for having windows. The clear plastic ones that this one had were all zipped up, as if they were protecting the tent from the outside world. Or perhaps in this case, containing something from the outside world. A man was standing in the center of the room in his dark, mellow place. Completely alone.
He had been waiting for a guest, and as if this had all been cleverly prepared for the next Pokemon Trainer in search of a Pokemon, he snapped his fingers. Suddenly Latex, a Gothitelle that was hiding in the shadows, used her Psychic ability to turn on a spotlight that shown brightly upon Nort's figure. His beard had two mistletoes on it, as if he was trying to make people kiss under his face. "I have been waiting for you." When his mouth opened up into a teeth showing smile, he looked absolutely creepy. All he needed were some rapist glasses in order to complete the look, really.
"Here for a Pokemon, are you? What kinds of qualifications do you have as a trainer? Fill out...the magical form." He sounded completely serious as he held out a clipboard and a pen, and Latex immediately unzipped the windows to reveal the rest of the tent, providing enough light for her to write in. Latex hated her job.
The Form:
Name: Age: Gender: Race: Favorite Color: Sexuality: Do you like your mate younger or older? Have you had your first kiss? Are you a virgin? Bra Size: Underwear Size: Boxers or Briefs: Would you kiss me?

Erin was a bit stunned by the emptiness of the room, and the single person inside. To be honest, he was kind of a creep but she wasn't here to judge. She politely took the clipboard and murmured a short, “o-oh! Thank you.”
The name and age part was easy to fill out, a simple Erin and 14, but whenever a form asked her for her gender she stumbled slightly. More so today, simply because she was having one of those days where she was uncertain with herself. Still, while her sex was most definitely male, she wrote a simple “female” under the gender-- since that was really what she identified with.
She scribbled down “caucasian” for her race, a bit bewildered, and happily put in “pink” for her favorite color... And then sexuality was next. She had a hard enough time with her own body, much less being concerned about anyone else's. She didn't want to lie, but she really didn't know what to--
She briefly read the rest of the form.
Blinking, she looked up at Nort and frowned, completely bewildered. Had she read it wrong? Sure enough, she hadn't, as she looked back down at the paper. What was the quickest way to back peddle out of this, she wondered? The answer that came to her mind made her rather sick to her stomach-- she didn't want to admit that she really wasn't a girl like this man-- this creepy, creepy man-- was likely assuming...
Oh dear.
“Sir,” she said, this time not forcing her voice to be as feminine as she normally did but letting it sink into the voice of her normal, puberty-hitting-boy voice, “I just want my starter. Is this necessary?”

Ranger Nort and Latex
Ranger Nort chuckled at the girl's reaction to his form, simply giving up when she got to the naughty questions. So she wouldn't play along with his ruse? That was fine, he supposed. He let out a cough as he took the form from her and glanced it over, realizing just how young she actually was and snickered at it. 14, oh dear. Chris Hanson might have to pay him another visit in the future if she decided to give a formal complaint.
"Don't worry about it. I have a Pokemon captured for you already." He slipped out a Pokeball from his pocket that Latex helped him capture, holding it out for the girl to claim. No, he never bothered to open it up, but he figured that it was something remotely useful if Latex was the one that picked it. She tended to go for Pokemon that she actually liked, ignoring ones that didn't appeal to her tastes.
<Starter Pack.> Latex was suddenly right behind Erin, eerily whispering near her ear as she held the official Starter Pack that all trainers needed to start their journey. It was then that Nort rested a map on the table before him and coughed, trying to get her attention. "You see the station is right here, yes? Just walk past the Professor's Lab, and you'll soon be on the path to route 1. Take breaks if you can, Ile Electrique is far." He explained, feeling that she was the type that would get lost if she wasn't told something like this. There was a map hiding somewhere on the Pokedex provided at least, so she wouldn't be TOO screwed.
