Marlaey was standing now, her mind focused on the battle. No doubt Harper would keep the others safe and out of the way, she needn't worry about that. So she let herself concentrate oh helping Little Foot win this match. She felt good when Superpower hit. That was it! If her Turtwig could keep up with that move, then they might just win this. But it wasn't good to be too presumptuous, hence her concentration. Little Foot couldn't help but grin at the Minccino's compliment. <Thank you very much!> But her pride and thanks allowed a window of opportunity for the chinchilla pokemon. He took it and landed a hard blow. Little Foot was knocked backwards as the Minccino continued to pound relentlessly. "Little Foot! Withdraw! Quickly! Withdraw!" Notgoodnotgoodnotgood... Obeying her trainer as fast as she could, Little Foot withdrew into her shell, cursing her moment of distraction. She could feel Minccino's attacks hitting against her shell, and her cheek felt bruised from his first attack. Well this wouldn't do. She wanted to win! Ahiga was watching and she'd never live it down if she was beaten in front of him... Her speed wasn't great to begin with, and now it was lower! Oh hell, just go for it, she thought. Once she spun far enough away from her opponent, Little Foot popped back out of her safe place and ran to tackle him. But she was much too slow. She skidded to a halt, panting, realising she couldn't win with speed, she'd have to win with power. "Use Superpower once more!"Glowing with energy once more she unleashed Superpower on the Minccino again, hoping to weaken him and stop him moving around so much! Boy it helped that he was faster than his opponent, especially after seeing how much that attack hurt him so the speed was definitely to his advantage. >Great try again, but you have to be more creative than that!< He quickly said to Little Foot before he ran at his opponent with much greater speed and again attempted to pound the living heck out of the pokemon in hopes of making her faint.
>I hope you are having as much fun as I am!< He said to the Turtwig, this definitely was one of the better matches he has had in so long. And it was large due to her and her nice attack. He definitely felt challenged in this match and he definitely did not know what the outcome would be which excited him greatly. It made him want to work and want to win. And best of it, he knew that if he gave it everything he had, he might not even win.

Little Foot felt a stab of despair as she watched the Minccino dodge her attack. She was starting to get tired already. Superpower really took it out of her. But she was determined to keep going! Her brow furrowed, she tried to keep track of where the little rodent was as he dashed towards her. He was using his speed to his advantage. Well that just meant she would use her shell to hers! When he asked about her having fun, she realised that indeed she was! A challenge was always more enjoyable than an easy win, and this battle was definitely a challenge. But she didn't have time to respond as seconds later he was upon her. She was inside her shell though, evading his pound attack. She didn't want to get hit by that again! But she also didn't feel up to using Superpower anytime soon either.. And she couldn't exactly hide in her shell for the whole match. What was she going to do?! To buy time she snapped at Minccino's paws from the safety of her shell and silently hoped her trainer actually had a plan for this match! Marlaey to the rescue! Did she have a plan? No! She had no idea what to do next! But that wasn't important. She could think on her feet right? Right?? Frowning almost as hard as her pokemon, Marlaey wracked her brain for a way out of this mess. Then she noticed something. With all that speed and pounding, Minccino had pushed Little Foot much farther back than they'd started, she was just inches away from bumping against a tree stump behind her. If she could get some leverage there and push herself forward... It just might work! Calling out to her Turtwig, Marlaey hoped the little turtle would understand what she meant. "Little Foot! There's a stump behind you! Use Tackle! Now!"In her carapace Little Foot grinned. Time to take this match back! Wriggling her back feet out of her shell, she braced herself against the tree stump and bent her tiny knees. Without waiting another moment she propelled herself forward in an almighty Tackle attack, her front end still safely tucked in her shell. Down you go boyo!, she thought gleefully. Surely he was too near her to dodge this time! The minccino said as he saw his own attack stopped by the withdraw attack; it was an usual method, but it worked either way. He was even more startled when he saw the turtwig come at him with a speed boost as well from the stump. Another good tatic as well. However all of these attacks where beginning to take their toll on him now, as he was taking in deeper breaths as he felt bruises beginning to develop around his body. He let out a mild growl at th egrass type, still to tired at the moment to speak or physically attack.

Little Foot was pleased that her attacks were impressing the Minccino. She wasn't entirely sure why she wanted to impress him, but she did! She could see that he was weakening too, which encouraged her. She was tired too, but after staying in her shell for so long she felt a little better now. But she didn't want to use up all her energy bantering, she had a much more useful idea for it. Once she saw her opponent taking deeper breaths, she knew it was her time to strike. Though Growl would slow her down further, it didn't matter, she didn't need speed for this anyway. Her trainer seemed to be thinking along the same lines as her when she yelled out, "One more time Lil Foot, go for it!"Little Foot gritted her teeth and focused on Minccino. She waited until his movements had slowed and then unleashed Superpower one final time on the fuzzy creature, praying that this time her attack had hit home. He hadn't felt an adrenaline rush like this befroe in ages! SO he knew he had to make the most out of it. The superpower hit home pretty effectively, pushing him all the ways back to a tree about 10 metres behind him, and it was his time to now take some deep breaths and pause for a second. Straighening out, he rushed forwards towards the Turtwig, raising a fist to pund it.

It was time to end this! Little Foot was too tired to dodge the pound attack the rushing Minccino dealt her, so she tried in a desperate attempt to let it glance off her shell. Well it sort of worked.. But it still hurt like hell! Swiveling around as fast as she could, she tackled Minccino one more time, hoping she hit him hard enough to win this battle. He was weak; very weak to actually say, but he still had enough energy in this battle though. "I must appluade you for you valiant efforts. But alas, its time to end this for you." The minccino said with a sad smile, before rushing towards the grass type once again with his hand raised high up; before swiping it towards the turtwig in a upper-cut manner.

He was still upright! He was still moving! He was even applauding her! How could that be?! Little Foot visibly wilted. She couldn't keep going like this. It might be time to admit defeat. But she didn't want to let her trainer down! Snapping her head round, she looked desperately at her team. They were cheering her on. She couldn't let them down either. Frowning, she faced the Minccino one last time. He was charging at her, his fist raised. She ran. Headlong into him. A last Tackle attack. They collided, and whatever the outcome of the match was, Little Foot knew no more. She fainted. Marlaey cried out for her Turtwig, but also couldn't help wondering if she should take out a Pokeball for that Minccino... Would he even want to join them? Yay! The Minccino had successfully taken down the Turtwig! A wide grin ripped his face in half and he bounced for joy, though he was feeling very, very weak himself. “Well done,” he panted, steam pulsing out with each breath he took. “I'm very impressed that you worked so hard! And look, your little friend seems to have grown from this experience.”
Who knew the Minccino could be wise as well? He let out a long, steady sigh and sat down. He really didn't feel like moving around anymore. “Hey, would you let me come with you? You look like the kind of trainer that could train me well. If you don't mind, that is. I wouldn't mind leaving my home for a worthy person...”
And +1 for Turtwig

Marlaey rushed forwards and cradled her Turtwig. "Are you alright?? Don't worry, we'll get some rest here now, it's getting dark anyway." She looked over to the bouncing Minccino and smiled. He really was a cheerful little thing! And he'd battled so well, it would be great if he would join their team.
"Well done Minccino", she said as she returned Little Foot to the safety of her Pokeball.
She had noticed herself that the little Turtwig had grown a level from experience, even if she couldn't understand the chinchilla Pokemon. She watched as the Minccino sat down, weary from battle, and wondered what he was chattering on about. He was very cute, whatever he was saying.
Never fear, Harper to the rescue! Or to the pack at least! The poor Growlithe felt like he spent most of his time with his head stuck in the bag, fishing for Pokeballs. And here he was, doing it again. <Here you go, she'll catch on once you click the button>, he said, rolling the ball over to Minccino. <Welcome aboard!>

The Minccino wasn't minding going along with the trainer, since it seemed awfully exciting, especially since she was good at this despite being new. If that was only her first battle, then he could only imagine the talent that she had waiting to be unlocked. Ears twitching at the Turtwig, who happily rolled the Pokeball towards him as an invitation, he couldn't help but feel glad about being included. It was flattering, being added to a group, a family, and being seen as important. It made him feel special and heard, and he could only hope that he would continue to be treated like this, even after this trainer collected more Pokemon. Tail twitching in excitement, he nudged the button of the Pokeball with his nose, making it loudly pop open and surpsising him as he was sucked inside. He couldn't escape, even if he wanted to, and soon he was safely captured without incident.
<OH LORD ILLPALLAAAAAAZZO! YOUR LOYAL SERVANT EXCEL IS OUT TO FIND RESOURCES.> A very shrill voice that emerged from the trees was excitedly making the branches bounce up and down. She was excited, so excited! Her boss named Illpallazzo was telling her to do something, which immediately meant that she had a chance to impress him and somehow screw it up all in one comical adventure. All she needed was a damsel in distress side kick that constantly died and they had a reality tv show right there. <YOUR LOYAL EXCEL IS FESTERING.> She squealed as she grabbed a vine from a tree and started to swing off of the branches, energetically screaming in a high sounding but nasal voice that sounded like something off of The Nanny.
<Oh my gosh, this servant named Excel is starting to have technical difficulties as she attempts to fly on this long plant rope thing that dangles down through the air.> She talked rapidly as she collided into the nearest tree, going 'POW' before slowly sliding down from the trunk with pained moans. <Excel is experiencing pain...such pain...oh Excel is dying.> She was completely out of it, coughing as she was planted flat on her back, claws dangling in the air as snow from the tree branches above suddenly collapsed on her.

Marlaey beamed with joy when the Minccino pressed the Pokeball's button and allowed himself to be captured. "Oh wow! I hadn't realised that was what he was talking about. Thank you Harper", she said, rubbing the canine's head fondly. Before any further affectionate pats could be had, a shrill shriek pierced the air as a small orange blur flew by and crashed into a tree.
Ahiga jumped in fright, his wings fluttering. What on earth was that?!
Marlaey looked around quickly to see a Paras flat on her back, still chittering about something seemingly important. To add insult to injury, a pile of snow fell on top of her! Marlaey laughed and walked over to help the poor thing. "Are you alright?" she asked, scooping the tiny Pokemon up.

a question hit her ears. was she alright? > i-i'm fffffine ~ < she managed to sputter out, instantly regretting it as her head pounded with pain. actually, exploded with pain was a better way to put it. her claws weakly grasped at her head, as it pounded away. > h-he's my. . . i don't remember. is this real life? <

Marlaey laughed, this little Paras was hilarious! Without meaning to be of course. But after giving the bug Pokemon a once over to check for any lasting damage, Marlaey was pretty sure she'd be perfectly fine, she just appeared a bit stunned. Marlaey righted the little creature on her lap and noticed that the Paras was holding her head. Must be pretty sore!
"Would you like a berry to make you feel better?", she asked quietly so as not to hurt her head any further.
Harper crept over, his nose sniffing out the Paras. Well if she didn't remember who this Ilpalazzo person was soon he was going to be very disappointed. <Yep! This is real life alright. You ok? You look a bit out of it.. Maybe you should take a rest with us tonight?>

::Paras:: A rest? Yes, yes... That sounded like a good idea... She was really struggling to make sense of anything. Her eyes were straining from staring at the swath of colours and blurred images. She muttered something unintelligible and then nodded, though she wasn't really sure where they would be resting.
All she could focus on was the persistent throbbing sensation in her head. She groaned and buried her head into her hands and sighed, closing her eyes. She wouldn't be able to think with this headache. She'd be lucky just to remember her name – if she had one!
Oh well. All that could be done was to wait until the Trainer either picked her up or left her alone. What would happen?

Marlaey felt an immediate rush of sympathy towards the energetic little Paras. She had absolutely no intentions of leaving her behind either. Maybe they should go to the Pokemon centre for the night? Yes, that seemed like a good idea. But in order for Paras to be healed, she'd have to be caught. That would give her a safe place to rest on the way too.. It was sound logic, as long as the Paras didn't mind.
Taking out one of her last two remaining Pokeballs (she'd have to remember to stock up), Marlaeyoffered it to the little bug. "If you climb in here you'll be safe and I can take you to the Pokemon centre so you'll feel better. Would you like to come with us?"
Such an unorthodox method of catching Pokemon.

What was the trainer saying? Her head was pounding so hard that when the Paras tried to listen, it only hurt her more. She only realised what was going on when an object was lowered to her. Oh, so they were going somewhere else to rest? The Trainer was wanting to transport her via Pokeball. That much she knew... Alright. She'd go with Marlaey, but just this once. She tapped her claw against the Pokeball and felt herself sucked inside. At least now she'd be able to rest...

After a quick visit to the Pokémon centre, Marlaey was confidant that her Pokémon were feeling much better now. She was feeling so happy now that she had managed to find company for herself and Harper. She had six Pokémon in total. She couldn't believe it! She felt so proud of each and every one of them.
Ahiga, with his clumsiness and obsession with noses. Kismit and her adorable shyness. Little Foot and her strong determination. Who and his worldly wisdom. Mitt and her over zealousness. And finally, Harper. Harper and his utter love for her and her love for him. They were partners, and always would be!
Stepping lightly, Marlaey noticed a stream nearby and made her way over to see if it was frozen or not. Kneeling down, she dipped her hands in the cool water. splashing about a bit before looking up at the clear sky. The grass around her was long, almost hiding her from view. A few trees nearby had frost clinging to them. It was a brisk, but beautiful day.

Noticing the trainer, she gave a wave to her. <Hello! Nice day, isn't it?> The friendly plant said with a whistle, bringing the pail back up. Her friends told her that talking to humans was bad, but she didn't believe them and often greeted trainers as she walked past. Yep. But the encounter would be brief, for she was already collecting the pail and wandering away.
