After her spontaneous dance party at the Ranger's Station, Karen was much too tired to walk the route herself. Instead she opted for riding on the back of Keifer, her newly obtained Onix. The rock pokemon was tired himself but didn't care much; he enjoyed the stinging pain brought on by having to push himself onward with trainer aboard. In fact he loved the feeling so much that he decided to try and reach a higher level of pain by bashing himself into near-by rocks and trees. "Hey, you nearly knocked me off that time!" Karen yelled from above. She was barely holding on by this point but somehow managed to keep herself free of any large tree branches that twisted off by the rock pokemon's large form. The rain, of course, wasn't making it any better. Though it's not like she minded much, just a little warning ahead of time would be just fine. The sudden boughts of what sounded like sneezes startled the Onix, sending Keifer and Karen crashing into the vegetation on the side of the road. The giant rock serpent coiled back around in a dazed and nervous manner. His trainer was no where to be seen. Had he inavertently landed on her? The very thought sent shivers down his rocky spine which sent him in a spiral of frantic searching. <Friend...where are you friend?> he called out to her in a chorus of far-than-friendly sounding grunts and rumbles. Meanwhile Karen had just finished up detangling a few branches and vines from her backpack and clothing. What in the world has caused Keifer to react in such a way? Sure, he was crashing into stuff before but he held some sense of purpose behind his actions. That time it seemed like someone had taken a giant paw and knocked him completely over. It was during this moment that she realized the small little bear, sick and fraught with an undying cold. "Awwww! Poor thing!" Karen cooed as she ran over to coddle the Cubchoo in her arms. It was so tiny and frail, how could she just ignore it? "Keiferrrrr! Look at the poor little guy!" she called out. The Onix, now assured of his trainer's safety and much calmer than before, snaked over nearly crushing his trainer under his massive weight as he leaned against her. He couldn't care less about the sniffling ice-type pokemon. pokemon encounter ! all of a sudden he was in the arms of a girl. a very.. pretty girl, at that. he looked up at her, all puppy-dog eyes and low whines. however, he felt another sneeze coming on, and immediately he took in a great big breath. then let it out. in a very unauthorized manner too. he sneezed in her face. or, her general direction. boogers and snot and all. right at her. or, even worse. at the beastly onix leaning against her. yuck. the cubchoo rubbed his nose sheepishly. < oops... > he mumbled. but oh, did he feel so depressed. why, was he always sick?
it annoyed him to no end. always sniffling and snorting and coughing and wheezing. he drove people away. if you looked, all the other pokemon, birds, snakes, etc. were all veeeery far away from him. in fact, pidgeys flew by and gave him looks of disgust as they flew past. what a sicko, sneezing all over everyone.

Karen squealed in a mix of surprise and disgust. She couldn't stop herself from grimicing as she wiped away the mixture of snot and mucus with her scarf. "Here Keifer," she said, tossing the scarf at the behemoth, "just wipe away what you can and I'll get the rest." She obviously forgotten the one thing needed that Kiefer lacked: hands. He looked past his trainer's novice mistake, however, and gently picked up the dirty scarf in his mouth. How he was supposed to rid himself of the sickening matter was a mystery that even he didn't know the answer to. But he decided to entertain Karen by mimicking her movements. She did say she'd get the rest. "Aww, you're so sick!" Karen said as she tightened her hold around the little ice-type. "Don't worry, we'll make you better! Right Keifer?" she asked him, promptly pulling out one of her woven winter hats to place on Cubchoo's head. The Onix mumbled a disconcerned grunt as he encircled his trainer and her new "squeeze-toy". As far as he knew this was normal for Cubchoos but there was no changing Karen's mind. She was determined to make the sickly pokemon better. KEIFER | MALELEVEL 5 MET AT RANGER STATION, LEVEL 5 { ROCK HEAD | STURDY } MUD SPORT | TACKLE | HARDEN | BIND | BLOCK QUIRK: Addicted to pain

::cubchoo:: pokemon encounter ! she'd put the hat on his head. sure, he was warmer. but, when he was cold, the snot froze. now, it was just dripping out of his nose. like a faucet. drip, drip, drip. he snorted, trying to get rid of it. however, just blew it all over the ground below. he whined, looking up at her. but he rolled his head back. < kill me now.. i'll never get better. > he groaned. his hands held the hat on his head, however. he completely ignored the onix, not really caring it was there. sure, it was huge. but, whatever! the cubchoo was the main attention right now.
and in the arms of an extremely pretty girl. he was in heaven. if only his cold would disappear. then they could snuggle all the time, and he'd never have to soak her in his snot! what a wonderful world he'd be in! he smiled cockily, grinning at the onix. he wa basically saying. 'haha, i'm better than you. you can't touch me. i'm sucking all your trainers attention. she doesn't care about you.' i mean, she hadn't even cleaned him up. she was more focused on him. hahaaa.

Keifer was far from pleased with the ways things were going. It had a hat now, which didn't help much, so why doesn't Karen just send it on its way? A unsatisfied rumble came from deep, within his gut, one that seemed to shake the ground. <Please friend, we should go now,> he said to his trainer. Much to his dismay Karen shook her head, dismissing his suggestion. "Sorry Kief, but not until his cold goes away," she said, bringing the bear closer to her chest. Deep down she was wrenching at the feel of her snot-soaked clothes against her body but she tried to hide it the best she could. Karen had plenty of spare outfits packed away. She could easily change out of these once this was over. "Ooo! I know!" she abruptly peeped, "You can come with us to the city! They should have doctors there that could cure you of this stupid cold." It was a spur of the moment thought but to Karen, it seemed like the right thing to do. How could she leave the poor thing out here in the cold and go on about her business? At least she offered to take care of it. ::cubchoo:: Level 6 | Male Attacks: Powder Snow, Growl Personality: Emo when sick, and weak immune system so is usually always sick. sneezes powder snow at Onix & Trainer Hmmmm? He looked curiously at Karen as she suggested going to the city with them, getting a doctor to look at him. For a little while it looked like he was seriously considering it. And then his expression darkened a bit and he shook his head 'no'. He knew it wouldn't do any good. He couldn't remember a day he wasn't sick, and he couldn't remember anything that had ever helped him. His expectations were low. He didn't think a human doctor would do him any good. "That would be a waste of you... ti...tim.... TIMECHOOO." As he finished speaking he sneezed the biggest sneeze yet. From his cold nose came a chilling wind. It whipped across the ground and picked up snow. The unintentional powder snow attack flew towards the trainer and her huge poke'mon. The tiny bear cub was sitting there rubbing his nose, a new icy snot bubble formed at his nose and he sniffled.

There was no dodging the unintentional attack. The snow stung both Karen and Keifer, though which one took it the hardest was unknown. Keifer, being a rock and ground pokemon, felt the stinging cold penetrate is rocky hide, hitting his soft spots and making him roar in pleasure-filled agony. Karen flinched back only to find herself shivering from the intense cold. With her clothes being soaked from the previous onslaught of wet sneezes. "N-no, not a w-waste of time at al-all!" Karen replied through cold-induced stutters. Even though she was completely frozen to the core, she somehow managed to keep a friendly smile on her face. Who cares if she gets sick? She'll just stuff her face with fruit and veggies. She didn't know much about pokemon at all which fueled her goal of getting this Cubchoo to someone that could help cure it. What if this was more than a cold? What if it was a threat to the ice pokemon's life? Karen reached out to pull the wild pokemon back into her arms but Keifer wasn't having any of it. In a flash, or what seemed like one given the fact that Karen was too focused on Cubchoo to see what Keifer was doing, the Onix had Karen isolated on one side of his body while the wild pokemon was on the other. <You can hurt me all you want, but do not hurt my friend,> he grumbled. He was fairly knowledgeable in what could happen if a pokemon legitimately tried to attack a human. Hell, he knew he could easily crush Karen with just a friendly rub. He didn't want to take the chance of her getting injured by another pokemon under his watch. Plus he wanted to feel the pain left by the wounds of battle. Through intense concentration and some unknown physiological process, Keifer strengthened his rock-like body and brought his large head down as he aimed for the small cub. Hopefully his aim was well enough at this awkward, hunched-over angle. ::cubchoo:: CUBCHOO APPEARED ! Cubchoo glanced at Karen and realized that she was shivering cold now, much more than before. Was it because of him? Either she got his cold or the weather was chilly enough to make her shiver like that, and he knew which one was more likely. <Oh no, I gave you my cold!> He cried out sadly. This happened way too often.
Keifer suddenly intervened and threatened him not to hurt the trainer, which hadn't been his intention at all anyway. <But but I--!> He tried to reply, but the hardened Onix already rammed his face into him. As he flew out of the trainer's grasp towards the ground, he smacked his lips together. Gross, he could taste rock, and now muddy snow as his body dug into it. Removing his face from the ground, he stared at Keifer with a tear-ridden face. <I deserved that, didn't I?> He roared pitifully before sneezing another Powder Snow at him.

The second Powder Snow hit only the Onix this time as his large body shielded Karen from the brunt of it. Keifer was much too bulky and slow to even start an attempt at dodging a broad attack like that. Like the one before it stung him like a thousand Beedrill stings. He involuntarily bellowed in a mix of ecstasy and pain. <You will deserve more than that if she falls ill,> he replied through clenched jaws. The biting cold was excruciating. He could only imagine how miserable Karen felt at this point. "I'm f-fine guys, really. It was an accident, Keif," Karen piped in, trying to alleviate the bad feelings between the two. She struggled to her feet through shiver after shiver using the Onix as her prop to push up on. "Please come with us. I promise you that you'll feel much better after seeing someone in the city!" Karen said, trying to coax the Cubchoo. The last thing she wanted to see was the poor thing being beat down because he couldn't control his sneezes. Of course she wasn't ignorant to the battling aspects of being a trainer. She just didn't want a battle to ensue out of a little accident was all. Keifer could only hold back and bring his defenses up even more by another hardening process. With Karen in the way it was near impossible to attack the small target. If only it was a bit bigger. The Cubchoo sniffled and rubbed his nose. He didn't mean to do that! Why couldn't the Onix see that? He lowered his head and sniffled some more. A pitiful growl came from the Cubchoo. <I -sniff- I didn't mean to! I swear!> The Cubcho protested. He didn't like being attacked for something he didn't mean to do. But, he probably deserved it. Hanging his head in defeat he stared at the ground. Nothing ever went right for him, did it? Sniffling again, the Cubchoo made no attempt to fight back. He deserved the pain that was coming towards him, even though it wasn't even his fault. The Cubchoo didn't even bother to reply to the girl, he was too caught up in his sadness. D'awwww...

Karen dropped her arms to her side in defeat, momentarily letting them hang there before crossing them in a feeble attempt to keep warm. The Cubchoo completely ignored her offer. What else could she do to convince him to come with her? She could always force the thing with her but she had to keep in mind that it was technically a wild pokemon. Who knew how it'd react to such actions? "F-fine then..." she said letting her words trail off behind shaky breaths. Turning to her pokemon, she looked at him with pleading eyes. "Keifer, please do something to help me," she timidly asked him. The Onix was battered though not visibly other than the patches of frozen snow that coated his backside. He wasn't feeling too hot, no pun intended, but he couldn't stand the way Karen was staring at him pitifully. She needed to get warm and the only way that need would be met is to get this horrific pokemon out of the scene. Helping or not, he was determined to find a way to bring it down. <Save your crying for someone else,> the Onix grumbled, once again relying on hardening his body for the oncoming tackle attack. He pushed himself forward, flinching as his nearly frozen body returned to motion, and aimed to hit Cubchoo where it would hurt worse. Keifer wasn't quite sure but for some reason, whether it be his body reacting negatively to the weather or the cub's annoying voice, he didn't seem to have as much 'oomph' as normal behind his attack. The ice bear gave a small cry as he was struck by the tackle once again, sending him flying across the floor, although the snow on the ground softened the damage slightly. He gave a moan as the pain went through his body, stiffening all of his muscles at the same time.
"Someone just kill me now; I just want to die...." he cried softly, burrowing his head into his hands. However, the cold weather once again made him sneeze, sending out another Powder snow at the Ground type. Oh why was he doing all of these mean things to the trainer's pokemon, who just wanted to help him.

Attacking the thing till it fainted wasn't exactly what she had in mind. In fact, it was the complete opposite. Karen had originally wanted Keifer to talk to the Cubchoo thinking having another pokemon vouch for her would help. She'd just have to settle for having a talk with the Onix afterwards. She flinched away as another Powder Snow came crashing their way, dusting her with a cold layer of snow. Keifer, like the other attacks, took it head on. The large rock snake fell to the ground with a groan causing the earth to shake beneath their feet. He was down and out for the time being despite his efforts at bring up his defenses. Karen brought her hands over to mouth to stifle her cry of surprise having never experienced a pokemon faint before. She did the only thing she could think of doing at this point and brought forth Keifer's pokeball. Once he was safely inside, she brought out a second one and tossed it in front of her. The Woobat emerged and immediately took to the air, choosing to hover in the air a few feet above Karen's head. He was stronger than Keifer, or at least by a little, which renewed Karen's hope in helping the Cubchoo but only now she had to heal her own pokemon as well. <Oh nos!> Cried out the little bear as he sniffled up the last sneeze, he wiped his nose with his arm and watched as the large rock snake fell, crashing loudly on the floor and sending quite a powerful shock wave toward him, making him fall back slightly before he could catch himself. He landed on his back on the floor and gave out a little groan, it hadn't hurt but now he'd need to stand up again...always a feat when you were sick. Very slowly and lazily he forced himself up, having to spread out his arms to keep him from falling again, his knees wobbling slight. <I, I'm Sowwy> He called out to the trainer, his nose still stuffy, he glanced over her head and noticed yet another pokemon was out, this one looked a whole lot smaller but who knew, maybe it could do more! <H...H....HICHUUUU> He called out as he tried to greet, but the word was caught in a sneeze threatening to break through, and finally it did. As his sneeze went it pulled out some of the frosted air from his mouth, sending forward yet another Powder Snow attack, this time flying toward the bat and the trainer. <Ugh Dammid!> He called out, wiping his nose once more, oh how he just wished to be put out of his misery, he was already feeling more tired, maybe this bat could end his suffering?
