Abby let out a sigh as the trainer ran off before she could give him something to help his pokemon, but she would get over it. He was a idiot for attacking trainer with his pokemon. She did not know what his motives were, but she had a hunch it was something she would not like. She looked back at the small Pidgey, waiting to see if she was still going to come with her.
Abby smiled when the Pidgey got on her arm and they headed on down the trail. She was ready to be at the next city. She would be able to take Pidgey to a center so she could get checked out completely by a doctor and she might even be able to get something while she was there. Abby scratched Pidgey's chest as they walked down the trail, wondering what would be coming next.

::pidgey:: pokemon encounter ! apparently they were on the move. or so it seemed to the small pidgy. she felt the gentle rise and fall of the trainers legs. the way they progressed forward. sometimes the movement jerked her wing, but she just hunkered down on her shoulder and waited for each stab of pain to pass. after a while she just closed her eyes. she really didn't feel it anymore. the rocking motion abby made when she walked soothed her in a way. after all, she really was a nice lady. really nice, in fact. she still wasn't even certain the girl wanted her on the team. after all, it appeared she'd messed up the battle she'd been in. even if she'd won in the end. she still felt bad for it.
she hadn't meant to. just in the heat of the moment felt she had to stop them. keep them both safe. but, it appeared the trainer was well and good with it. unfortunately that other one, the one who'd looked goofy. had just run off. didn't seem like he was happy. and that munchlax. was he okay? he'd taken quite a beating, after all. with a jolt, she fluttered her eyes open and ruffled her good wing. appeared they'd arrived in the Pokémon center.

Abby moved with careful steps since she did not want to cause the small bird Pokémon any more pain. She was sure the Pidgey still had pain even if she was careful, but she could only hope that this Pokémon would not have much pain. She glanced over to see that the Pokémon was either sleeping or in deep thought. She smiled, turned her head just in time to see the large dome of a Pokémon center. She smiled… ”Finally!”
She thought to herself, but she had to keep her excitement down. She would be able to call home and see if there was anything they could do for this Pidgey.
As she walked up the stairs to the center, she smiled at the lady, the nurse of the center. She looked at the Pokémon who was now on full alert. ”Pidgey… Will you let this nice lady look at your wing so we can make sure it heals perfectly?”
She looked at the nurse for a moment and then back at the small bird pokemon. Apikalia wanted to call home, but that would have to wait. She smiled at the pokemon for a moment. ”I will go with you, I promise.” She said to her. She would not leave the pokemon by herself unless she showed she wanted to go by herself. The Pidgey chirruped happily and relaxed as the nurse scooped a set of hands beneath her and lifted her onto a stretcher. “I’ll be alright,” promised the Pidgey with a shake of her head. “You get yourself cleaned up and have a shower, alright? You’ve earned one, I’d say.” She reached over as the stretcher rolled by and nuzzled her cheek against Abby’s arm before she was rolled away into surgery. Shouldn’t be long.
But to be honest she was petrified. Would she ever fly again? The bone surely had to be damaged and chipped from all of the moving around she’d been doing. Her muscles felt like they were on fire, as though she might have caused a bit of damage to them when she fought the trainer who attacked Abby. But she’d kept to her word and now they were at the Pokémon Center, and Pidgey thought back to that old Pokémon that had given her a quick fix back by the camp fire.
“You can go and see her now.”
‘I hope he’s alright,’ she thought. Usually old Pokémon were easy prey, but that one had been fast from what she’d seen. Maybe he’d live a while yet. She hoped so, at least. She blinked open her eyes to find out she was on a soft, warmed up bed and lifted her head drowsily. This was the recovery room, wasn’t it? But what happened to the operation? She looked back at her wing and gaped in surprise – her wing! She could feel it! She shifted and tossed off the bandages, feeling them too restricting around her limb for a Wild Pokémon. There weren’t even any stitching left, but she could flap it without much pain! She chirruped with glee and then paused. She’d have to see if she could fly... Anxiously her belly churned and she sucked in a breath and flared her wings for flight. She angled her nose down and jumped off the edge of the bed, and----!
SPLAT!
She hit the floor gently with a squeak and stared up at the bed. Her wing hadn’t been positioned right, she blamed herself, and used her beak and talons to climb back up onto the mattress for another go. The second go was more successful; she flew for a moment before she literally clawed her way up the table by the side of her bed. And then the third. She glided across the room unsteadily, trying to gain altitude, but it had been very difficult. More energy than she was prepared for; more strength than she had at the moment. She’d just have to practice. With a sigh she plonked herself back down on the bed and nuzzled into the pillow, a few tears trickling down her cheeks. She needed to get stronger...

Abby smiled as the nurse took the Pokémon before it seemed that Pidgey was okay if she went alone. Abby took that time to have the rest of her Pokémon healed at the desk and then she went and took a quick shower. She made sure she was fast and dried the hair she could with a towel before pulling the rest back into a high Pony-tail. She wanted her hair to dry, but she did not want it hitting her back and causing her clothes to get wet, even though her Tank top was actually a swim suit and her skirt was just a piece of cloth wrapped around her waist. Once the shower was complete, she checked on the status with the Pidgey and quickly called home to talk to her father.
He was happy to know she had made it to a Pokémon Center and told her he was very proud. When she told him about the Pidgey he was impressed and asked her to call him back after the Pidgey was ready to leave. Apikalia knew he had his own bird pokemon, which was a Pidgeot, maybe he had something planned. ”You can go and see her now.” Abby smiled and said good bye to her father before she jumped up and nearly ran down the hallway and into the recovery room to see the Pidgey was laying in the bed. She had not seen her fly, but Abby knew that one day, she would be flying like a pro once more.
Abby came over and set down beside the bed, letting her finger stroke the Pidgey’s back. ”I talked to my dad Pidgey… He said once you are ready, he would love to talk to you himself… He said he thinks you will be just fine and I agree. I can’t wait to see you flying like a pro again.”
She said to her friend. She also wanted to give the Pidgey a home, but she knew she had to wait for when the Pidgey was ready to accept a pokeball and she knew that might take some time. She laid her head on the bed and smiled to the Pidgey. She was going to help this pokemon in ever way she could.

The Pidgey seemed to cheer up when Abby ran right into the room, rubbing her eyes with her good wing as she sat upright and nodded in greeting. She felt much better; these humans were very talented, and she felt like she was in good care the entire time. There was an incredible guilt about her wing though, what if she was half the bird she used to be after it healed? Abby didn't consider that as a possibility, smiling and being cheerful the entire time.
It was as if she could already see the future, a good one indeed. It brightened the Pidgey's heart to hear it, and with a faint blush the Pidgey struggled with what she wanted to say. <You're the nicest person I've ever met. Thank you so much, for everything.> She said sincerely, looking her in the eyes as her voice was soft and gentle.
<If I go with you now, I wouldn't be a bother...would I?> She asked a bit tentatively, almost regretting hearing the answer of any kind. She was ready to go with Abby, especially when she realized that she only needed to get stronger if she wanted to fly again. Abby made her feel strong, emotionally and physically, so it simply clicked in her head.

Abby was happy to see that the pokemon seemed to be very content and happy. Apikalia really wanted to have this small bird pokemon on her own team. She was sweet and one day, they would be able to fly together. When Abby had spoken to her own father, he had seemed pleased that she was doing well and that she was getting a good small team. ”Small teams are good… You get to know your pokemon very well… But try and make your team grow. Get so many pokemon that you will have to constantly train and battle.” She did not understand her father’s reasoning, but he seemed so excited for her. He was the King of her tribe, the chief and she wanted to make him proud.
As the Pidgey chirped happily, Abby smiled at her. Though she could not understand, she knew it had to be something good. Maybe one day she could get a Physic pokemon that would help her listen to her pokemon more. Or maybe even a pokemon who could talk. As she went on again, it sounded like a question, but Abby did not know what it meant, but she just sucked in some breath and smiled. ”You are going to make a great friend, Pidgey… You have a good heart, determination, and the will to do what you want to… I can’t wait to make you an official member of my team… If you still want to.”
That would mean that the pokemon would get her own pokeball.
Unknown to Abby she had just answered the question honestly. In a way, she had said she was excited to have the Bird pokemon on her team and she was.

She quickly tapped the pokeball and was engulfed into the red light which shut her in and rolled slowly before clicking shut and signaling that the capture was complete. With that, Abby successfully had captured herself the Pidgey which hopefully would not be a bother at all.
And from the distance, in a pond nearby, a faint screech was made from a possibly hurt Pokémon? Or maybe it was a Pokémon playing a trick on an unsuspecting victim? If Abby paid close enough attention, she might be able to find this specific area and see what was up. Hopefully, if she does choose to make this journey, she wouldn't be ambushed or anything. As she waited, she turned her head as she heard what sounded like screech coming from outside the pokemon center. For the moment, she ignored it, since she needed to focus on the Pidgey before her. As she turned her head, the Pidgey had managed to get a ball from her back and then she was engulfed into the pokemon without a second though. Abby was so happy, she smiled and looked at the nurse who came in at the same time. ”Looks like you have a new friend, Ms. Kalena.” Abby nodded in agreement before letting the Pidgey out from her sphere. ”How does the name, Sarika sound to you?”
The pokemon seemed to be in deep thought before she nodded her head. ”Yes, I like that name!”
Abby smiled and picked the pokemon up, placing her on her shoulder and thanking the nurse before she went to the phones and called home. Her father appeared on the screen and smiled as he saw the Pidgey. ”Hello Apikalia… Hello Young Pidgey… I wanted you to meet someone.” The Pidgey jumped from Abby’s shoulder and onto the desk to see the screen. As she did, she saw a large Pigeot appear. The final growth stage for her. He was amazing and he seemed to smile at her. ”Pidgey… You can trust my daughter to take good care of you and make you strong… She had my blood in her.” Abby smiled and as the Pidgey nodded, they said there finally good bye and Abby picked up the Pidgey again. She checked her supplies and then packed everything up to head on down the route. As they did, she heard another faint screeching coming from the forest. She was slightly nervous, but she decided to go off the path onto a small path in order to find what was making that sound. All her pokemon were healed, so she was ready for a battle if it came to that. CHINGLING & PIDGEY appeared ! A chiming of bells could be heard in the distance, suddenly - but the tone was not melodic and soothing like it normally would be. No, it was the manifest cry of a Chingling down the road who was being chased in the air by a mean bird of a Pidgey.
Chingling hadn't done anything wrong, she thought. But to the Pidgey, she'd floated onto his turf. He didn't care that she made beautiful sounds as she flew by; she was trespassing, and that was enough for him to attack. Without warning, he had started chasing the bell as though he were a cat playing with a mouse, making the most of the encounter before actually fighting the thing. <This'll learn ya! Get over here so I can give ye a beating!>
The Chingling replied with just chimes, as though she didn't know how to form words.

As Abby got closer, Sarika on her shoulder, they both heard what sounded like bells dangling around and then, they saw a Chingling go past them high in the air, followed by a Pidgey closing on her rather quickly. Abby looked to her own Pidgey and then up at the other, who chased the other pokemon around like he was going to murder it and had reason. As the words left the Pidgey’s own beak, Sarika own anger rose and she flew in the air, even though her own wing was an annoying pain now, it was still there…
She used a tackle to make the Pidgey’s pursuit stop, if it landed. ”Leave that poor pokemon alone and get some manners you mindless fool!”
She squawked at the other bird pokemon. Abby was slightly surprised by Sarika’s own behavior, but it was to protect another pokemon, which was not completely surprising.

The Pidgey rolled over and dove down and away from Sarika swiftly, his wings outstretched as he swung himself around and eyed the female Pidgey with a frustrated curiosity. She looked a little bit awkward in the air, that was for sure, but she was a beautiful one. Far past the age of a fledgling.
“This is my airspace!” The Pidgey shot back hastily, eyeing the Chingling. It was clear he was hostile, and if the Pidgey didn’t leave now, he’d attack her as well. “This Chingling is intruding, and-!”
The Chingling’s bell chimed a few times and she gazed up at the female Pidgey hopefully, trying to float over to her with her levitation powers. She couldn’t speak so she tried to explain the situation with her ‘hands’, though she was stopped in this act when the Pidgey tackled her side and sent her crashing toward Abby.
“Gotcha!” The Pidgey smiled triumphantly. “That’ll teach you to come in where you’re not wanted!”

She had missed… Damned bird. She flapped her wings, though if one looked closely, they could see she was having a strange time of flapping. She narrowed her eyes at the other Pidgey, keeping a close eye on him. ”This is my airspace!” She squawked in protest. ”The air is for everyone!”
She said back to him. ”This Chingling is intruding, and-!” The sound of bells moving caused her to turn slightly and she started to try and figure out what the pokemon was saying, however she was cut short when she was attacked by the Pidgey. Abby was there to catch her.
“Gotcha!” Sarika looked at the pokemon with disgust and pulled in air. ”That’ll teach you to come in where you’re not wanted!” She let the air out before using a gust attack. Though it hurt like hell, she did it anyway. ”You are a bully to other pokemon. You have no right to do such a thing you punk.”

Pidgey snorted. “That is not true, fledgling,” the older Pidgey corrected. “Every Pokémon has a piece of territory that it fights over. That’s like saying Spearow don’t fight for nesting spaces, or Houndour for pack hunting grounds.” It seemed as though the Pidgey held quite some experience and knowledge.
“How do you think your parents managed to find you a home? They battled for it, so get your facts straight and leave. Take that thing with you. And I have no right to defend my home? How is that any different from you protecting your trainer? If your nest was threatened, wouldn’t you fight to protect it? You have no right to come to my home, try to attack me while I defend my home and be so disrespectful. You’re the bully here.”
The Chingling could relate. Any Pokémon that had much self worth would try to defend it’s home. She hadn’t known she’d trespassed anyway until she’d heard the screech telling her to get out. Sucking in a breath, she waved at the Pidgey, catching his attention, and made a hand sign to say, ‘Sorry’.

”That is not true, fledgling.” Her feathers puffed slightly as he called her a fledgling. She was far from it. ”Every Pokémon has a piece of territory that it fights over. That’s like saying Spearow don’t fight for nesting spaces, or Houndour for pack hunting grounds.” She squawked once again in protect. ”Yes, a nest, but not the air. A nest is in a tree, that is your home. All flying and bird pokemon must use the air, if pokemon stretched there home into the sky, no one would be able to travel now, would they?”
She said in protest. She was going to defend her thoughts and in her opinion, that was correct. She had protected her home, which was a tree.
”How do you think your parents managed to find you a home? They battled for it, so get your facts straight and leave. Take that thing with you. And I have no right to defend my home? How is that any different from you protecting your trainer? If your nest was threatened, wouldn’t you fight to protect it? You have no right to come to my home, try to attack me while I defend my home and be so disrespectful. You’re the bully here.” She squawked once again in protest. ”My parents never concerned themselves with the air around our home. They protected the tree we lived in and that was it. The air was and is open space for other pokemon to travel. I have my fact straights. You are just trying to control a place where you know pokemon have to travel through if they are going towards a certain point. You are the bully, no pokemon owns the air, even my mother told me that.”
She said to the pokemon. She had never seen her mother fly after a pokemon who was flying over there tree. Sure, she would watch the pokemon was great intent, but she would never attack the pokemon unless they tried to harm her chicks and her family. As she looked at the pokemon, she saw the Chingling apologizing and Sarika chirped at her. ”Do not apologize… He attacked you for nothing. You were flying, minding your own business and he attacked you for no reason. You were not attacking his home, his tree, so you have no reason to.” She said, flapping her wings, the pain from her own wing becoming a bit greater. The Chingling was starting to feel bad for being involved in this in the first place, shrinking backwards as the two Pidgeys started to get into each other's faces. She was honestly more frightened of the female one now, especially when the female had a little more bark to add to that bite. The Chingling shook its head nervously as it trembled behind Abby, though it debated leaving the scene altogether. It had no other purpose here, had already apologized, and really didn't care that the Pidgey had attacked her when she was in the wrong.
She signed another 'sorry' as she watched a little longer to see what would happen, but the situation generally made her uncomfortable to watch. It was a shame that she could hardly communicate with them, as her psychic powers weren't strong enough to enable that.
<A home goes beyond a nest! You have to make sure the area around it is safe! Ye can be fien with a mere bundle of sticks in tha' tree, but it doesn't give provisions to let ye survive.> The Pidgey said with an angry huff, wondering what kind of free-spirited, naive home this female even came from. How could she understand at all?!
<You call your story facts, but I hear nothin' but opinions and babble! Go back to ye ball, ye spherical contraption! Yer better off there and not pickin' fights!> He was pissed. Very very very pissed that this female thought that she was able to boss him around. Not gonna happen. He was going to butt heads with her as much as possible, though he really thought that she was mentally bruised to the point beyond reason. She was corrupted!

Abby looked at the two bird pokemon, wondering what was going on. She looked down at the Chingling and then back at the two birds before she knelt down to the small pokemon. ”I don’t think you have to stay unless you want to… Since the Pidgey is distracted, I would go before he tries to attack you again.”
She said to the small pokemon. Sure, she would have loved another one, but she knew at the moment, it was not the right time to ask for this pokemon to join them. She focused her attention back on the two birds. She let out a sigh. They needed to get moving, but she knew that something bad was going to come out of this.
Sarika flapped her wings a big harder, causing a small jolt of pain, but she was going to manage. She would be happy to rest after this though. This one bird pokemon was a stupid on. ”A home goes beyond a nest! You have to make sure the area around it is safe! Ye can be fine with a mere bundle of sticks in tha' tree, but it doesn't give provisions to let ye survive.” She rolled her eyes. ”Did I say just a nest… No I said a tree! My family had a tree and they were fine with allowing other pokemon to pass under and over it. You just want to have a reason to attack pokemon who are traveling. Do you honestly think other pokemon are going to know that the air is yours? No. You cannot expect them to know who owns all the air so you should not say it is yours when there are hundreds of pokemon who fly around the air daily getting from place to place.”
She commented to him. He had just wanted to attack the other pokemon and that was all she saw. ”You call your story facts, but I hear nothin' but opinions and babble! Go back to ye ball, ye spherical contraption! Yer better off there and not pickin' fights!” She hated the idea of fighting, but she was battling for her own opinion and what she believed was fair. She was going to protect pokemon from pokemon like him. She let out a big sigh and then, Abby called out. ”Sarika… He is not worthy of your time. Come, we have to get moving.” Abby was right. This pokemon was not worthy of her time. She flapped one good time before diving down and landing on Abby’s shoulder. ”Sorry Abby. You are right.” Abby smiled at Sarika, though she did not understand her, she snuggled her nose into Sarika beak and they started walking ahead. pokemon encounter ! oh dear. the male pidgey really seemed to be getting all pissed off. even then, the female seemed to have been pretty angry too. though, the chingling could see she was in pain. she gave a petty whimper and followed after them when they went. the girl and the pidgey, that is. the chingling was nervous around that bird. but, she didn't seem that scary. right? i mean, she'd given up fighting. she wasn't a bad pokemon. not like the other pidgey behind. right? chingling forced herself to nod.
meanwhile, the male pidgey was puffing out his chest and hollering like a buffoon. < come back 'ere this instant! i ain't finished with yer all yet! > however, he did remain sitting on his tree. glaring at the lot of them. fuck them. he didn't need to go wasting his breath on them. besides, there was other pokemon out there he could holler at all day. no big deal.

As they started moving, Abby turned to see the Chingling coming after them. She stopped to allow it to catch up and smiled at the small little thing. ”Would you like to catch a ride Chingling? I don’t mind letting you ride on my shoulder.
He said to her for a moment, glancing at Sarika who just watched the male for a moment. She was happy to rest for a moment. Abby was right, that idiot was not worthy of her own time. He could get upset all he wanted, she would only fight him if he attack her.
”Come back 'ere this instant! I ain't finished with yer all yet!” She rolled her eyes and looked ahead, taking in a deep breath and just sitting on Abby’s shoulder, waiting for the Chingling to either get on her shoulder or shake her head no.

The little Chingling looked up to the girl, seeing that she had stopped. What was going on? Was she going to catch her in one of those ball things? A small wind of relief blew from her mouth as the trainer just asked if she wanted a ride. With a little nod the bell pokemon jumped onto her shoulder, making a clinging noise as she did so.
Soon Abby and her company left the Pidgey in the dust. He had decided not to chase after them. It was a waste of his time! The road seemed to be clear for a little while...until a wailing noise caught the Chingling's ears. It frightened the poor bell pokemon, who lost her footing on Abby's shoulder and promptly fell onto the path with a jolting ring. What was making that noise?! That shaking bush seemed awfully suspicious...

What's making that noise? Go to the bush and find out? Or run away?
