BUM- FWISHHHHHHH
KA-COW!!
The summer night's sky lit up with the light of the fireworks, cascading like a rainstorm of ten thousand gem stones, glittering and glistening as they tumbled and somersaulted downward until they flickered out of existence.
This was what fireworks were meant to be, the kind of spectacle that turned a normal night into a magical one.
Unfortunately, Sanosuke missed the first round, as he was too busy with something else.
"So yeah, I'm on my own. I decided it was time to make a place for myself and all that...But enough about that, let's talk about you." He said, working the old magic.
"Oh, well I just moved in with my boyfriend," She said, driving an invisible knife into his heart.
"We've been pretty serious for about 2 years now, and he's just a great guy. You should totally meet him! He'd like you." Said the pretty red head.
"Ah...I see...Well, I'm not so sure about that. I had some things I had to do with Little Miss Thing, so I should be going." He said, motioning to Dixie and trying not to sound disappointed.
"Oh, alright. I'll talk to you later," She said sweetly. and then knelt down and scratched Dixie behind her ear. "And I'll tawk to you too you widdle cutie!" she said, and with one last smile, she was gone.
"Sigh... She had a ghetto booty anyway..." He said under his breath when she left. It was to make it hurt a little less, but it backfired considering that he Liked a girl with some dark meat.
He sat down under a tree to watch the rest of the show, in low spirits. Sure, his intentions weren't exactly pure, but mostly, he was just tired of being alone, tired of having nobody to talk to.
Sensing his melancholy Dixie skipped over and jumped onto his lap, licking his hand.
And Sanosuke, just like that, was sad no more. He wasn't alone, and he would never be.
The grand finale lit up the night sky, sending up a veritable orchestra of "Ooooos" and "Ahhhhhhs". And although he didn't make a sound, Sanosuke felt happier then he had in a long time.
((WHEW! Sorry if that's a bit too long, just really want that fishy.
I'm Claiming Carvanah and the 2RC..
Thanks a million, and I hope to be a part of this community to a long time to come.))

The grass was soft against his butt and the river let out a nice breeze. He stretched out his arms and touched something, a hand, warm and soft at the same time. He looked up and noticed a pikachu hat on the head of the girl, and he gave her a nice smile as he watched the sky lighten up with a loud boom. It was perfect end to his day, to his year. 100 words: Happy Birthday Draa! <3

Those summer nights were something else, Susumu had to admit. He stared up at the star filled sky and leaned against the railing of a bridge, admiring the splendor of Verona. It was almost lonely alienating himself from the crowd like this. He quietly waited for the expressive explosions to burst in the sky, anticipating the whizzing crackle, the gigantic boom, and the sizzle of each firework settling down on the ground. A blonde approached him from the side, mistaking Susumu for a girl as he pecked him on the cheek. Cue awkward stare from both males. Boom! Pffft! Disgust.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra was enthralled that she could experience the fireworks this year. Other times she'd been too busy to get out there (though who could blame her?) and instead had to watch the news later just to catch a glimpse. Arriving just barely on time, she looked around for someone she'd recognize. Finding no one, she sat on the grass, knowing that the fireworks would begin soon. Her eyes reflected the light of the fireworks as they shot up, popping and crackling like a bowl of Krispies on steroids. She felt something touch her hand and glanced sidelong...
"What the hell!?"

Julia kept her eyes firmly on the ground, trying to ignore the sudden flashes of light and sound that assaulted her senses with the force of a small bomb. She wouldn’t even be out here if it weren’t for the fact that with all this noise she’d never get to sleep. Judging from the occasional squeaks that she could just barely hear above the clamour, her little hitchhiker was enjoying the display. Well, at least one of them was enjoying themselves; she was just getting a headache from this entire senseless racket. The sooner this was over with, the better…

The summer evenings were nice and warm, and he could see crowds gathering, staring upwards. It was beautiful, it was peaceful. At this distance, he could barely hear the noises, but it was good enough for now.
The trainer sneezed. It seemed like it was colder than he had thought. He wasn't sure if the show was worth catching a cold, even if it was kind of entertaining, in a peaceful kind of way. He stayed. The next day he would be nursing a cold.

Each burst of fireworks was like a volcanic eruption in the air, gracing the earth below with the light of day with each explosion. It was thunder and lightning all at once, in all the numerous colors of the rainbow.
Murasaki stood at the edge of the boat, a crowd of people to all directions but her front. It was like having a thousand flies buzz around her head all at once. But she supposed that if she was pushing off today, with the fireworks display highlighting the background, she would have to deal with it. It was a minor nuisance, and one that would soon be over.
As the finale finally came, the boat was quite far from the shore of Cinnabar Island. Though she was sure that it looked spectacular over there, it was almost disappointing at the current distance. Once the last of the flaming lights had been snuffed out, the crowds started to vanish, going back in for an evening of either rest of partying. Murasaki intended to do neither.
She stood at the stern of the ship, letting the ocean breeze caress her hair. Down at the bottom of the boat, she could see the ripples of water below, trailing behind the mighty vessel. But one of the ripples seemed... off. It wasn't quite traveling in the right direction. It was then that she saw a set of yellow fins poke out of the water's surface. That certainly wasn't a part of the boat.
Curious, she looked around the boat, seeking some way to get closer to whatever this thing was. There was a flight of steps off to her left -- a good place to start. Within moments, she was practically flying down the stairs, all the way to the ship's bottom floor. There was around three feet of metal separating the landing from the ocean, and four feet of black netting keeping the people from accidentally falling overboard.
In the water, the fins started to rise again, this time exposing the blue head off the creature beneath the waves. Its massive head came clean out of the ocean and bit into the ship's rear, just a little ways from the propeller.
Though confused by what was happening, his dumb Pokemon was just going to get itself and the ship hurt if it kept trying to take a chunk out of the vessel. She looked around, searching for something, anything that might be able to keep it from continuing with its course of action.
There wasn't much around, save a few crates... and a fire extinguisher. That might do. It only took a quick yank to free it from the wall. She looked at the diagram on its side, seeing how exactly this thing was supposed to work. Apparently, you just pull the trigger and it squirts foam.
The metal container was heavy, and a pain to haul all the way over to the edge of the water. She struggled to grip the fire extinguisher with one hand as she held the hose up, pointing it at the aquatic creature. A burst of foam came out of the nozzle, squirting the Pokemon just as she had expected. However, it was difficult to keep going in a steady line, and it slipped out of her hand. She tried to grab the hose with the hand that was already lifting the fire extinguisher up and lost her grip on it.
"Fu--" Murasaki struggled not to swear at the red container struck her foot. She winced in pain for a second before gasping for air, then bent over to push the half-empty container off of her toes. As she leaned down, she was utterly surprised to see a flash of wet scales fly overhead, and plop down with a rain of salt water.
She shoved the fire extinguisher aside and turned around a full 180 degrees to see a soggy fish floundering around on deck. As she approached her, it lashed out once again, jumping quite a distance more than a splashing Magikarp would have. It bared its razor blade teeth at her aggressively, ready to bite at any given moment.
Murasaki backed up a few feet, wondering what to do with the fish. The first option was obvious -- she could throw it back in the water and be done with it. But then it would probably just attack the boat again and they'd both be back at square one. The other option was to just let it sit here and die. It wouldn't be long before it ran out of breath at this rate. It was already gasping for water, drowning in the alien world of the surface. Still, it would be a cruel deed, even for her...
The last option, possibly the most risky, was to take it with her. She doubted it would put up much of a struggle, considering the condition it was in. But think of what disasters it could cause later down the road... Tentatively, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a red and white Pokeball, the only one she had thought to bring with her. She gulped before tossing it at the fish and blinked as it was enveloped in a flash of white light.
The Pokeball on the ground shook just like its target, erratically moving in every possible direction for almost half a minute. It felt more like an hour, though, the way things were going. If this didn't work, it was a goner.
And then... click.
It was the piercing confirmation of a successful capture, and she approached the Pokeball with caution, just to be sure she'd heard what she thought she heard. She picked it up with the utmost care, but it was completely still now. Safe.
Off in the distance, she could see the last puff of smoke from the fireworks earlier fade into the horizon as she climbed the stairs to her cabin. The summer sun was setting swiftly as twilight descended on the grassy hillock. The light of the heavens mirrored the darkness of the earth as the first of the fiery sunbursts ascended high into the darkening sky, illuminating the environment below for split seconds at a time.
Azzy stood within a throng of people, his eyes cast up toward the stars, their blue depths reflecting back every pop of light. "Pretty cool, huh Lu?" The Lucario didn't respond though. His gaze too was caught skyward, watching the pop of fireworks with a kind of animal curiosity. "Yeah... pretty cool." He said after a few more minutes, and then he turned to leave. Lucario followed a few seconds later. They had stuff to do.

Arthur knew this event wouldn't last all year long and in fact he just wanted to enjoy it with Midnight as she sat there waving her persian tail in an S-like manner. A wide yawn escaped the feline's mouth as her eyes widened with awe at the view and the rest of Arthur's team lay around him scattered about on a blanket so they could just rest. Wishing Marlaey was here he was soon just relaxing and letting his arms cross behind his head as he closed them. The rest of his team continued to play on well into the glorious night.

"Don't you want to come with me? don't you want to feel my bones. on your bones. it's only natural~" the words seep through your soul as you begrudgingly sit on the bench nursing a nonchalant smirk as various members of society (as broken as it was) walk in front of you. Verona being the only real city, it kept you sane seeing people enjoying themselves effortlessly, and really that's all you wanted in life. to be happy although, that was just not a goal you would achieve.

"What do you mean, 'what are you doing?' " Kazashi yelled into her cell phone. "Can't you hear the booms?"
Keeping a good grip on her phone, she held it up and away from her ear just as a bottle rocket screamed overhead, rising effortlessly into the air and exploding, filling the sky with color and light.
"So, yeah, Minoru, that's what I'm doing, same as you." She shrugged briefly. "Like I'd even think of missing this holiday. It's one of my favorites." As she spoke into the phone she made her way over the bridge, deftly avoiding a little girl that was enjoying her own personal show and ignoring everything else around her.
She had clearly been given her first sparkler ever; Kazashi smiled as she recognized the serious expression on the child's face as she held it delicately but firmly between her chubby fingers. Her eyes grew wide as gold and green sparks arced away from the powder-covered metal stick to die on the asphalt at her feet. She remembered how she'd felt when her father gave her a sparkler for the first time, too...so adult to be holding a thing made of fire, and sad when it finally ran out of fuel and was extinguished.
Maybe if I'd stopped waving it around, it would have lasted longer, like Father said.
On an impulse, she went off to find the local vendor. She had a need to try a sparkler again and see how long she could make it last. “Wonder if they've got those in purple?” she mused over the phone to her brother.
-- I'll take that fish and the candies, thank you!

Amanda watched the fireworks crash over head with a sort of homesickness in her heart. She had been away from home for so long now, and even with her Pokémon she couldn't help but miss her old, comfortable lifestyle. Besides, the homemade icecream was just something she couldn't forget. With a sigh, she shook her head as she tried not to miss her old life and tried to enjoy what she had now.
She had freedom. Her Pokémon were her new independant life, and everything was slowly getting better... The crack of firecrackers made her jump out of her skin, but a slow smile was making its way on to her face by the moment.

END OF JULY The lone trainer would take off his black cloak, the weather was kinda hot and damp in the mountains. Outside of Verona City Nick would pop a squat as he was the End of July fireworks. It was the last day of the month, and another month of journeying down. The trainer was not getting any younger at all. 'Yay fireworks!' The excited Audino said as she jumped up and down. She definitely served as a foil to Nick's overly cool disposition, and she was one of his most loved Pokémon. The brown hands of the trainer would rub to head of Tensaiga. She cared about nothing but Nick and her friends. She had not a care in the world, and Nick wasn't going to tarnish that. He without a doubt protected her from any threats, all his Pokémon were Tensaiga's bodyguards essentially. A smile crossed Nick's face, yes a smile; come on even a broken clock is right twice a day. He was happy, happy with his life and it's direction - happy with his friends - just happy.

Roselynn was quite glad to be able to enjoy the fireworks this year. Sure, it may not be the same as it was enjoying them with her mother, but she still had her knew family as all of her pokemon were out and watching in awe. Even little shalynn was sitting in her lap raising her tiny arms up as if she was trying to catch the falling sparks. Roselynn couldn’t help giggle as she looked at the rest of her pokemon, all of them seemed to be enjoying themselves, this was definitely a night to remember forever and ever.

Darko felt freer than he had in a long time. He was sitting on a hill in the plains. There was no human around for miles. His Sewaddle Theo and his Caterpie Jazz sat upon his shoulders, looking up at the sky. His Sandshrew Tod sat by his right side. The others had not been interested in the event. Darko did not mind. It was fine with just the four of them. He enjoyed the opportunity to bond with his Pokemon and get to know him better. The fireworks were beautiful. he was sure they were not meant for him, but he still could admire them out here just the same. They were wonderful and reminded him of what it felt like to be alive. He would feel like that again soon. His Pokemon journey was giving him a new life. he would forge a new identity for himself. And it was going to be something great!

Enjoying the fireworks was something h also did in his homeland. Living close to the sea made it even more beautiful than he could imagine. But in this land, he would have to make do with what hill he sat upon. His breath was steady and his he eagerly watched the first shots as they danced into the sky, sparkling like a poems stanza.
heir brief existences was something of a hopeful reminder, that even if you only shine for a moment. Something, or someone will always remember you. Despite how long you were there.
The colours faded and reflected upon his skin. Emerald greens, amber reds and corn yellows. A smile crossed his face and for these short moments he felt hopeful that he, like the fireworks could reach the sky if he tried. [/font]

Inoko had been wandering around the region as usual with Dokueki like usual when the was a loud screech and a bang coming from above. Freaking out she looked everywhere when she noticed the colourful explosives in the sky. "Look at it. Sooooo preeeeetaaaaaah!" She said, this was even bad grammar for her and that was saying something. But the fireworks truly were a breathtaking sight to behold. Especially for one who had never seen them before. They came in all sorts of colours but her favourite were the purple ones, they were absolutely dazzling, and Inoko couldn't take her eyes off them until she fell asleep. Meanwhile the large black snake pokemon didn't really care all that much for them and had fallen asleep far before her.
