.:Physical Characteristics:.
Height: 5’ 5’’
Weight: 115lbs
Health: It takes a hardy type of character to work long hours in the farm and field, something Aurora has had her whole life to train her body for. That said, she’s in peak physical condition, albeit a bit on the lighter side thanks to her thin build and high metabolism. As far as eating habits go, a healthy diet has been forced upon her from an early age. While she tries to avoid junk food and fat in general because of it, she often finds that tasty treats are an incredibly hard thing to resist. Rarely does she get sick and when she does, it’s not for long; no force on this earth would be able to confine this free spirit to bed rest even if she had pneumonia anyway.
She does, however, suffer from allergies, and the condition can present a severe health risk if not medicated properly. Despite being fully aware of this fact, she’s been known to neglect taking her medicine as a defiant yet foolish show of independence, so it’s common to see her sneezing or sniffling every now and then when such an act occurs.
Appearance: Aurora is your pretty average southern gal, standing just under five and a half feet off the ground and weighing no more than 115 pounds. A lot of this weight is, in fact, lean muscle, and she’s got a much stronger grip than her thin frame and appearance might initially suggest. She’s light on her feet but more is more about endurance running than speed; sort of a ‘slow and steady wins the race’ sort of thing. This kind of physique is a result of both daily physical work and exercise routines, something she enjoys doing on a regular basis.
No, she’s not going to be the prom queen at the next dance, but she’s definitely not unattractive. Years of working in the heat of the great outdoors has left her with lightly tanned skin and a sun-kissed complexion, coated with a light, almost creamy caramel color. Just the right amount of freckles pepper the bridge of her nose and upper cheeks, though you can’t really see them unless you’re looking directly at her face. Her most striking feature is her pair of brilliant blue eyes, deeper than the azure sky and just as expressive; the phrase ‘the eyes are a window to the soul’ apply perfectly to this teen in particular. Another notable characteristic of her appearance is her hair, natural blonde that flows to her mid-back in length. The frizzy locks seem almost always on the slightly messy side, something that annoys Aurora to no end. In an attempt to tame it she’s styled her bangs to sweep across the left side of her face, with the rest near constantly tied back in a fish bone braid with a piece of ribbon and accentuated with a feather.
Her general style of clothing is kept simple and casual. Working on a ranch for the better part of almost every single day has taught her that comfort is much more proficient than fashion, but she actively tries to add a fashionable flare to everything she wears. As far as shoes go, she’d never be caught dead in sandals or flip flops, most of the time sporting some sort of heavy boots instead. For her fresh start in Cheyenne, however, she’s attempting to take a slightly more modern stand in fashion, but still with a bit of a western twist. For example, you’d see a casual button up shirt or blouse under a sports jacket and a pair of worn jean shorts adorned with fashionable belts and buckles. Her lack of fashion sense, however, occasionally results in an outfit which fails to mix the two elements together in a desirable way. She usually dons pale or pastel colors, but also has an affinity for browns and creams accentuated with other bolder colors; bright orange in particular.
.:Personality Attributes:.
Alignment: Neutral Good
Personality:
::Outgoing:: This cowgirl is bold, brash, and just a little bit brazen. Meeting new people is no trouble for this blossoming social butterfly, and she feeds off of social interaction with both people and Pokémon. Being raised in a small ranching community didn’t leave all that much room for learning certain social norms, however, and it’s not uncommon for her to incidentally cross such boundaries as personal space or information. When she has something to say she says it, sometimes without thinking twice; though she never means any ill intent with her words unless angered to the point of not thinking clearly. She loves being in crowds and parties in particular, and can even become a bit of a flirt in the right company. It seems as if she’s always looking for fun no matter what the situation, and if she can’t find any then she’ll make some herself.
::Adventurous:: Along with her outgoing personality comes a fiery side, one that yearns to explore the farthest reaches of whatever region she lands upon. This is what primarily drives her need to travel, the reason why – despite her love of the family ranch – she just had to escape the confines of that tiny town community. She’ll take on any task or challenge for the pure experience of it; win or lose isn’t nearly as important as the journey itself. As long as she gets to meet new people and Pokémon far and wide, she’s happy.
::Stubborn:: As a mule. Even if she knows she’s wrong, it’s a hard thing for her to admit it and even more so to apologize. She has strong gut instincts about things and is determined to stick to them no matter what anyone else says. Along with her hardheadedness comes a bit of sass in her speaking, though it’s merely playful and teasing in nature- but can also hold a bit of a bite if she’s rubbed the wrong way. But even so, it usually takes a lot to get her riled up and she’s skilled at recomposing herself quickly from anger and masking her emotions otherwise. Despite all this she’s actually very disciplined, and can be depended on to get things done- in fact, she won’t stop until whatever she’s set out to do is just that. But she’s a free spirit at heart so whatever it is, she’ll do it her way and her way alone, making it somewhat difficult for her to work with others or take instruction from those she doesn’t know well enough to trust completely.
::Selfless:: Despite her outwardly bold and stubborn nature, Aurora has one of the biggest hearts you’ll ever meet. A life of raising Pokémon from eggs and onward has left her with somewhat of a nurturing nature. She genuinely cares for all those around her more than herself, and would readily help even a complete stranger at her own expense without a second thought. This goes double for Pokémon, especially those not yet strong enough to help or defend themselves. All of her close friends are considered family and family is extremely important to her, making her incredibly protective of those in her circle. She’s more of a leader than a follower in such a group, always making sure everyone’s taken care of and has what they need.
::Artistic:: Aurora is right brain dominant in almost every sense of the word. While she may be easily outmatched by those of higher intellect in games of strategy and wit, it’s hard to compete with her creative mind. She’s much more skilled at thinking outside the box and using unconventional problem-solving methods rather than ‘sticking to the books,’ another reason she’d rather do things her own way. This has also led her to take up a passion for drawing and artwork, something she started from a young age out of sheer boredom from the duller days at the ranch. As bold and outgoing as she is, if there’s anything she’s the slightest bit withdrawn about it’s her drawings and she rarely lets anybody know she does it in the first place. She always keeps a sketchpad and some drawing pencils on hand.

.:History:.
The sleepy town of Solaceon is where Aurora takes her roots. It all started when her mother, Naomi, was born into a humble yet thriving ranch settled among many of its kind in this fair province of Sinnoh. When the time came, she took claim over the farm alongside her siblings, just as had been done by the offspring of her family for generations before her. And for as many generations back as anyone of this particular time period could remember, the family had shared extremely close ties with that which owned the local Pokémon Day Care. The two businesses were practically treated as one, each family helping work for the other.
It wasn’t long before a former traveling businessman by the name of Everett Carlson, attracted to the town by its rapidly growing success, set up a ranch of his own less than a mile from Naomi’s. Having much more money and other financial resources, this new competition threatened to run Aurora’s (who was not yet born) family out of town; such an event inevitably sparked a fierce rivalry between the two farm owners that would last for years to come.
Both financially and mentally exhausted from the psychological war, the two eventually reached an agreement. And, eventually still, what started off as nothing more than a reluctant tolerance of one another evolved into a mutual partnership and continued to grow from there. Before anyone knew it, a coalition formed between the industries and the farms merged into one- as did the formerly bickering owners, who had since come together in an unexpected marriage. The ranch, now having doubled in size, reached a point of prosperity which undoubtedly made it the most popular and well-known in all of Solaceon and beyond. And to bring even more happiness to the newlywed couple, it was soon discovered that a child was fresh on its way.
But this new bundle of joy would turn out to be a whole lot more than what this pair initially bargained for. Before she could even speak, Aurora presented more of a handful to her parents than any stampede of Tauros could ever cause. She made trouble for not only her parents, but for the entire town as well; always wandering out of sight, letting the Pokémon out of their pens, throwing temper tantrums when she didn’t get her way. Thankfully, the couple at the Day Care often agreed to help watch the tiny trouble-maker at their center.
It was there, amongst all the different Pokémon even younger than herself, that she developed an unyielding attraction and fascination with the mysterious creatures. Since then – to her parent’s utter relief – she’s spent the vast majority of her free time at the Day Care, keeping herself distracted and out of trouble by helping the childless elderly couple raise other trainers’ Pokémon. Otherwise she helped her family care for the ever-growing ranch. To abide to her adventurous and restless spirit her parents took her on numerous family vacations year-round to locations her father had made ties in from his earlier business days, temporarily leaving care of the ranch to her uncles and the Day Care Center couple.
Despite working around the creatures 24/7 for virtually her entire life, Aurora never found herself attached to one Pokémon in particular. Those at the Day Care came and went, as trainers coming to claim their Pokémon was a daily occurrence, and those at the ranch led such a lazy and carefree lives that they were rarely ever motivated to do anything but lounge about. It wasn’t until the age of twelve did she finally meet the Pokémon who would potentially become the lifelong partner she longed for.
As was the norm in these parts, an egg was found near the Day Care center one day; unlike the norm, however, no person nor Pokémon seemed to claim it. The situation was stranger still once a Blitzle of all things emerged from the mystery egg. Not only were the electric horse Pokémon incredibly rare for this particular region, but so was this one’s coloration; this abandoned Pokémon was a shiny. The caretakers, not too keen on simply sending the hatchling off, instead placed it into the eager hands of Aurora herself, who had been captivated with the creature since before it was even born. With it came a world of new possibilities; but also a taste of what the preteen had put her parents through in her early years of life.
The Blitzle, now named Cobalt, proved to be even more stubborn than the girl who had claimed it. He wouldn’t listen to a word his caretaker said, blatantly doing the opposite of whatever command she gave him half the time. Only when, one day during the storm season, did the electric type start to loosen up. When bellowing black clouds and violent winds began to rattle the small farming town, everyone with a common sense boarded up indoors to wait out the coming storm. Being the defiant teenager she is, however, Aurora went against her family’s guidelines and snuck out to the barn to give all the restless Pokémon – a certain Blitzle in particular – company and reassurance. In the peak of the merciless roaring winds and pounding rain lightning struck the barn, the intensity of the bolt instantaneously setting fire to the building. In a show of bravery and determination, Aurora was able to get all the ranch Pokémon out single-handedly before riskily returning for the terrified Cobalt, whom she was able to coax out of the fiery scene just seconds before the entire thing collapsed into a smoldering pile of char and ash; but not, however, before she received a nasty burn across the upper portion of her back and shoulder while defending the helpless zebra. Since then, an unmatched bond of trust and companionship bloomed between the pair.
With the unbroken tradition of passing the ranch down the family line looming over her head as the only child in this generation, Aurora knew it was hopeless to try and convince her parents to let her out on her own Pokémon journey to fulfill her dreams of becoming a travelling trainer. Besides, her father never thought too highly of trainers anyway; in his opinion, training Pokémon was all good and fun for people with no direction in life, but his daughter had a familial duty to perform and he was going to hold her to that responsibility. But Aurora was a small town girl with big city dreams, and not even the stern wishes of her father could drown out the call of adventure.
By the time she was seventeen and Cobalt had since evolved into a Zebstrika, she learned that her mother had once been an aspiring trainer bound to the confines of family responsibility just like her; and she didn’t want her daughter to miss out on such an amazing opportunity the way she had. To her delightful surprise, Naomi said she’d take care of Everett’s stubborn ways and encouraged Aurora to set off before he noticed, having enough faith in her daughter’s maturity and independence to let her finally leave the nest. Of course taking Cobalt with her would have gone without saying, but the prized Pokémon had become a popular attraction for the town as well as a crucial asset to the ranch. Besides, the forever stubborn electric type strongly dislike battling and travel, preferring to ride with Aurora through the land he’d learned to call home; she couldn’t rip him away from that. And so, with a tearful goodbye to her Pokémon and promises to come back soon, Aurora slipped away from the ranch and off to the mysterious and far off region of Cheyenne.

Relationship With Pokemon: To put it simply, Pokémon are Aurora’s number one passion. She’s dedicated her life to raising them, and has even spent more time around these fascinating creatures than she has around her own species. While she’s never had a chance to battle with them seriously, she strongly believes that there’s no such thing as a weak or pathetic Pokémon no matter what the type; all it takes is time, devotion and, of course, love to get them to grow to their full potential. As such, she’d fight tooth and nail to defend them against any entity that might wish them harm. She can’t understand the speech of Pokémon directly, but she can usually interpret their emotions and behavior and thus read their inner intentions.
Goals in Cheyenne: From her family’s travels in Sinnoh, Aurora had already experienced most of what the region had to offer: from skiing in Snowpoint to tanning on the golden sands of Sunyshore. So why not start her journey in a place she’d never known before? That’s where Cheyenne comes into her picture.
Among her many goals in this new region are interacting with as many people and Pokémon as she can, becoming an exceptional trainer and, most importantly, seeing all there is to see! She has plans to return to the ranch in Sinnoh once her thirst for adventure is satisfied- if and when that ever happens.
Fun Facts:
*Aurora is left handed!
*Because of the lack of schools in the immediate area, Aurora was homeschooled by her mother with the help of her two uncles. She can read, write, and speak perfect English, but doesn’t have the extent of education a formal high school would have given her.
*She loves human kids as much as she loves baby Pokémon, and is just as good with them.
*Technology is not one of her strong points. She’s never owned a cellphone or computer in her life and gets easily frustrated when electronics don’t do what she wants them to do.
*Her southern origin is very apparent in her speech, not only from her slight accent but from the slang and way of speaking she uses as well.
*Not even being eight and a half months pregnant could stop Naomi from celebrating her one year wedding anniversary atop the highest peak in Snowpoint City to witness a rare aurora borealis event. Due to heavy weather and unclear skies, however, no aurora could be seen; it was that very night in Snowpoint City when Aurora was born, and why she was named what she is.
