He expected most to know his name and allegiance so they would see that he was for real when he came for help. Even in times like this when he wasn't really trying to help but wanted to troll, people should most likely accept it because they were speaking to a very powerful figure here who had a lot of experience training pokemon and thus could provide great advice. He also helped a lot in the academy grow stronger. To the point where Ace, even though still relatively new, was able to beat Team Death out of the lab. Or rather, keep up with them for the most part. He was surprised and taken back from the reaction by Pepper and he took a step back which alerted his Salamence as she saw the Growlithe bark at the trainer. She quickly created a large stream of water in her mouth, in the form of a hydro pump and looked at the Growlithe with a menacing stare, threatening to take it out with one foul attack if it would not shut its mouth soon. She was very protective of Sam, her trainer and father. Sam though did not see this yet so he didn't make her stop, having no idea what was going on. Instead he turned and became a bit defensive to Pepper. "Woah?! What's with the accusation. Don't you know who I am? I am administrator of Ace Academy. I know a few things about training people. I just wanted to help..." He said with a shrug, hoping to coerce her to pleading and accepting his assistance now. ::Salamence:: Formed Hydro Pump in Mouth. Didn't use it though

"I'm not from around here. How on earth could I possibly know who you are?" Pepper asked, exasperated. She sighed and rolled her eyes. "For that matter, how do I know you're who you say you are?" She wiped the last of the tears away and was about to say more when she noticed that the back of her legs were rather hot. She glanced down at Banjo, who had a mouth full of embers and was glaring at Toothless. "Banjo, stop that!" She grabbed him by the scruff and gave him a little shake, although it wouldn't hurt him at all since even as she shook him, she wrapped her other arm around his chest so it was more like she was hugging him and swaying with him than actually shaking him. She glanced up at the Salamence and gasped softly, picking her puppy up and holding him close. She turned and looked at Sam and her eyes were soft, but uncertainty gleamed in their depths. "Look, I don't know you from Adam, and you just show up and let your Salamence scare Banjo and I, and now you've completely flipped gears and you're trying to offer me advice? Tell me you wouldn't be skeptical if someone did that to you." Her lower lip wobbled. "It's not very nice to play tricks on young girls who've just gotten their first Pokémon and aren't sure whether or not they're good at this." Although the fact that she did not know who he was... Well, that he wasn't so proud of. She said she was new, but he didn't know or think she'd be that new. The Lab event just occurred recently, so she must have started her journey after as most people there should and would know who he was seeing how he led the other faction and actually pulled off a surprisingly successful operation. He sighed and opened his jacket, showing off his badge to the trainer. "I'm Sam Robins. Ace Academy Admin." He said as the first badge shown was the Ace crest. Below that were four badges and one ribbon but those were of little importance now. "I can see you are new since you are only in route one. I can give you the advice that has helped me get as far as I have. And one day you can get some of the same strong pokemon as I have." He said as he also revealed his eight other pokeballs on his belt. Although he didn't summon them so Pepper wouldn't know who they were at the moment. His Salamence also put away her hydro pump and plopped down on the ground, resting her head as he communicated with Pepper. ::Salamence::

Pepper studied Sam critically for a few minutes before she looked at the badge he'd shown her. Well...it looked legit. She bit down on her lower lip and she lifted her hand as if to touch the badge, but her hand fell away when he kept talking. She heard him out and then looked down at the eight Pokéballs on his belt before she looked at Banjo. He had quit posturing now that her emotions had settled, and was lying beside her with an alert look on his face, ears swivelling towards every sound in the forest to make sure they weren't attacked. Pepper sighed softly and looked up at Sam. She narrowed her eyes at the expression on his face and then she nodded slowly, hesitantly. "Sam Robins, I'm Pepper Dawson." She held her hand out to him. "If you have any helpful advice, I'd welcome it." She also needed to get him gone so that she could tend to Punch's wing...and track that poor Buneary for a short ways to see if her legs had failed her. Adrenaline only went so far. He wanted to make it convincing though as she was all ears and willing to hear what he had to say. He thought for a minute, not saying a word before he opened his mouth and finally let out a few sounds. "It's simple. Your pokemon do better if you show them love and affection. I usually tickle the stomach of my Salamence and from doing so, it makes her attacks stronger!" He said, nodding as he looked at Toothless who nodded in agreement, although she honestly did not really like it because she was a bit ticklish. He went over and began to massage her stomach, which tickled her so much that she created a large hydro pump and sent it over against the Growlithe. "Oh whoops! Sorry about that. But see! The power gets so much stronger once you tickle your pokemon's stomach!" He said. ::Salamence:: Used Hydro Pump on Banjo lol

In all honesty, he almost had her. It was a well-executed prank, and the way he'd finally gained her trust had made her drop her guard. She'd even believed him when he'd said tickling the stomachs made the attacks stronger. And then he'd demonstrated, and the hydropump had hit Banjo. The high pitched squeal of pain coming from her puppy would remain in Pepper's ears as long as she lived. Pepper's eyes went from trusting and wide to narrowed and angry in seconds. She ran to where the Salamence's very strong hydro pump had knocked her Growlithe and knelt beside Banjo, laying her hands on his wet fur. He smelled like Wet dog. The look he gave her was full of pleading, tears swimming in his large eyes. He was barely conscious. Pepper picked Banjo up and straightened. She turned and stared at Sam. She had learned everything she knew about Pokémon training from the trainer who'd taken her in for the winter when she'd been on the streets the winter before, but she'd learned how to shame people from her mother, who had plenty of experience in shaming her five children into getting them to do what she wanted. Pepper's shoulders squared, her jaw lifted, and she spoke with quiet dignity. There was anger and disappointment in her voice, but she didn't raise it to a shout or get violent with him in any other way. "I can see now that it was no mistake that your Salamence frightened away the Buneary and tried to spook Banjo. You are a bully, no better than the Lotad that was hurting the Buneary. You should be ashamed of yourself. I can agree with you that if you show your Pokémon love and affection, they will trust you and your bond with them will go stronger so they can grow stronger, but that's a given. Every Pokémon trainer worth their salt knows that." She stopped and took a deep breath, her face sad as she shook her head. "Does your Salamence even enjoy her stomach being tickled? I don't know about you, but when I'm being tickled, I actually don't like it very much. If that's what you do to make her attacks stronger, I really feel sorry for her." Tears were gathering in her dark green-black eyes and she forced them down. She stared at him for another moment before she shook her head. He'd left her with a very injured Growlithe and a very injured Starly as her only protection, and he'd just played a very mean trick on her, as far as she was concerned. Even if that really did make his Salamence's attacks stronger, he could have warned her that it would result in something like that so she could have moved and gathered Banjo to her. If he did it every day, then he certainly knew what happened when he did it. So either he'd wanted to strike Banjo and hurt her Growlithe very badly, or he was lying. Either way, she didn't like him anymore...if she'd ever liked him to begin with. I guess it's true what they say...pretty face means ugly personality...She began walking away from Sam, towards where the Buneary had gone. The least she could do was try to find the injured Buneary and see if it was okay after the stupid dragon had scared it. It really was possible to be scared to death, especially for high strung creatures. He jumped on to his dragon pokemon and quickly flew away, escaping any more problems as he left the trainer to hopefully heal her Growlithe without saying a word. The situation got ugly really quickly, and got very dangerous in a matter of seconds. He realized then that route 1 was probably a bit too weak for him to venture to again and vowed that he would not enter the region for some time again. Maybe in a few months he'd make another appearance but for now it was off limits. And with that, Sam was gone. And the October promo prank was over. One that did not go according to plan at all. ::Salamence:: Flew off! Sam's out!You should probably go and heal your pokemon. Just make a post saying you healed it and then searched for Buneary. Pepper didn't stop walking until Sam and his wretched dragon were well away, and when they were she started running, sobbing in terror. What if her puppy died?! As if the strain had been too much, even though he'd been somewhat conscious when she'd gathered him up, her brave little pup had fainted as soon as he was safe in her arms. When she'd calmed and healed Banjo, Pepper returned to the spot. He pressed against her legs, his trust in other trainers completely gone...and for that matter, so was Pepper's trust in other trainers. She sniffed. By now the Buneary was probably long gone, but she couldn't let it go. That stupid, wretched boy... Pepper took a deep breath and led the way into the woods. "Come on, Banjo." The puppy whined, but he pressed close to her. Banjo :: Growlithe :: Level: 6 [Intimidate | Flash Fire] Bite | Roar | Ember Health is Full Green

"Oh hi! Your pokemon is so cute! I like it a lot. I like it a lot." She said. She looked like she could be no older than 10 years old which would make one question what she was doing in this route. But she had a Mareep on her side to show that she was a trainer, albeit a bit young to be one.

Pepper jolted at the sight of the other girl. She bit down on her lower lip and smiled a little. "Hi," she ventured to say softly, laying her hand on Banjo's head when he growled and hid behind her, pressing so close to the backs of her legs that he almost knocked her knees out from under her. "Thank you. I'm very proud of Banjo." The look on her face, so soon after her encounter with Sam, was a wary one...one of mistrust hard-taught. She was friendly enough, though, and there was no real reason to be mean to this girl unless she earned it. [style=padding:10px; text-align: center; font-size: 75px; text-transform: uppercase; color: #434969;] Pokémon ENCOUNTER The little girl blinked in surprise. Such a jittery person, this girl was. But whatever, Lydia smiled amiably at Pepper; she wasn't going to judge. People had their own stories to tell, and every person's story makes them who they are. That included her. She thought about her family back home, how there were always smiling faces to welcome her home -- mentally shaking herself, Lydia had to bring herself back to reality. Now was not the time to be thinking about her family. Rubbing her eyes, she didn't want to be seen as crying right when meeting someone new.
"By the way, I'm Lydia and this is Sassy!" She pointed at herself then her Mareep. "What's your name?"
As the introductions started, Sassy trotted up to behind Pepper, and bleated gently to the Growlithe. <Hello, how're you?> Even though she was so friendly, in the back of her mind the Mareep hoped that the dog wouldn't bite her nose off. He didn't seem to be much of a nice Pokemon. Sassy shuffled nervously.

Pepper bit down on her lower lip and then she gave another smile, more genuine this time. Already, this girl was much nicer than that wretched Sam. Pepper tilted her head. "I'm Pepper. This is Banjo." She touched Banjo's ear and when he looked at her, she smiled encouragingly and stepped forward slightly to sit at her feet. He studied Sassy quietly, ears flickering, and then he garumphed at her begrudgingly. >I'm fine, thanks to my trainer. [style=height:239px] POKEMON ENCOUNTER Well, the mod had forgotten about this post and decided to beat himself over the head with a candy cane made of gummy bears...so it wouldn't hurt. Yes, that was right, but anyways, back to the post. Lydia was glad to see someone along the route and she knew that if she said the right things she could get lead further away from the city. Having run away from home she was not about to get involved in dangerous things, however, Sassy was always wanting to go back as she was pretending not to be homesick since she was saying hello to another pokemon. Distracted by thoughts of running around free and wild in the yard with Lydia to play with. Sure, she loved the thought of being with Lydia, but she also yearned for the lovely grass she could chew on in the backyard that was always freshly watered. Lydia smiled when Pepper introduced herself and she put her hand up to her mouth in a little giggle. Suddenly she tilted her head to the side when she introduced Banjo, and then suddenly reached out to pet him without thinking of the consequences of such an action. Bringing her hand back after a few pats, Sassy was wandering up closer to inspect the growlithe. Banjo was certainly looking like he didn't want to talk to her making her even more nervous, and all the more reason she wanted to go home. H-hello, I'm Sassy! Pleasure to meet you, and I'm great. Just enjoying the weather and really missing home oh shit, she said it, and she quickly gulped as she backed away like a few feet within a one second time frame in case the growlithe yelled at her for being homesick or something. Lydia found Sassy's behavior quite strange considering her affectionate nature. [style=font-family:timesnewroman; font-size: 12px; text-align: center;] Lost Child Lydia Age 12. Female. Banjo tilted his head at the Mareep's oddity. He laid his ears back as he was patted, but otherwise didn't do anything...didn't even growl. If his Pepper had decided that they were going to be friendly to this trainer and Pokémon, then friendly they would be...even if it killed him. He wagged his tail at the Mareep. >I'm sorry you're missing home. Travelling has its benefits, though. You can become very strong and your bond with your trainer grows much more fulfilling.< He told her. >That's how I feel when I'm with my Pepper. Happy and fulfilled. [style=height:239px] Pokémon ENCOUNTER Lydia decided to keep this to herself for now, but she smiled at Pepper as she noticed that her pokemon seemed to be looking at the growlithe just then. This wasn't normal, but she supposed that there could have been something else to anger her pokemon too. No, Sassy was too docile to even be scared, and right now she was backing up a little. Did the growlithe scare her that much? Well, sometimes you just had to suck it up and deal with the consequences after running away from home. Yes, but we could be home right now enjoying a warm meal, and technically Lydia ran away. So it's her fault I'm in this mess the mareep said and meeped sadly for a minute or two as if she was feeling sorry for her trainer too. Lydia found Sassy's behavior quite strange now, "Oh, and what are you doing here? Heading to the city?" she asked calmly, hoping to avoid the subject in general, but she knew it was going to obviously come up either way. "Actually I was searching for..." Pepper hesitated. Did she want to explain it? Well, she supposed she needed to...at least in part...now that she started. "I was searching for Pokémon to catch. Banjo and I are on a hunt, so to speak, right now." She smiled a little and shrugged. "What are you doing?" Banjo stared at Sassy for a few moments. The subject of her being away from home came up again, and Lydia visibly shuddered from the thought of home! She really wanted to go home, but she couldn't go back to her home in Ile Electrique. Her liveliness could have easily died down, but instead, she just jumped up, forcing a smile back at the trainer. "Me? I'm only traveling along the route! I hope to be a pokemon trainer!" she said aloud to the trainer! "Hey, maybe we can have a battle here!" She proclaimed. She thought that if she had a battle with the trainer for long enough, her mind would be distracted from the whole home subject. Sassy blinked back at Banjo. <Eh. I guess I can try. Pepper's eyes narrowed slightly at Lydia, but she didn't say anything. She stroked Banjo for a moment and then she looked at the young Mareep. With a sigh, she straightened. "If you want a battle, then okay. We can battle," she said hesitantly. "But are you absolutely sure that's what you want?" Banjo stood up and took a few steps forward, studying Sassy silently. --------RUN AWAY SCHOOLGIRL !
* Lost Child Lydia Age 12. Female. Ran away from her home in Ile Electrique. Lonely and likes talking to other trainers. An energetic and lively girl, but sensitive about her family.
Lydia felt a little bad for attacking something as cute as a Growlithe, but this was a part of the battling experience! Muscles were being worked out, and it was healthy to have that competitive spirit. That was what a strong trainer once told her before she started her journey, and she was excited to be a part of something like this ever since. She was convinced that her Sassy was going to do just fine in one of her first battles, and she even had a helpful Pecha Berry in case she ever got poisoned. She was such a good trainer already, but while Lydia was caught up in her daydreams, she missed Banjo's powerful retaliation. It was an abrupt Ember that caught onto Sassy's soft wool. <I'm changing colors! It's hot!> Sassy bleated in shock, attempting to settle the flames by rolling around in the damp grass. Her once soft and pretty yellow wool was now charred a dark black in the spot that the ember hit, but she was otherwise fine.
That was a strong attack, and Sassy was starting to feel intimidated by the Growlithe's powers. This was a Pokemon that had some experience in battles. Probably more than her, which made this battle even trickier to the Mareep. "Ah! Sassy, I'm sorry!" She wasn't paying attention after all. Maybe if she focused some more, Sassy would have a better time dealing with this Growlithe. "Give him another Tackle! Use your pretty girl charms!" She teased the Mareep a little, acting as if the Mareep oozed nothing but Cute Charm wherever she walked.
<I-I don't have those. Sheesh.> The Mareep rubbed her cheeks at the joke, trying to slap herself out of this flustered sensation. All she had to do was tackle the big bad wolf, right? <I'll be one step closer to evolving into a Flaaffy after this battle.> The Mareep tried to be optimistic about it, whether she won or lost. Running closer to the Growlithe's left side, she attempted to shove him into some bushes with her Tackle bump.
