This was a pretty awkward battle for the Chatot to watch, honestly feeling at a loss because she wasn't very used to dealing with foes that slept so long. Even Tristan started to sound worried, encouraging the large bird to wake up and snap out of it to no avail. To a stubborn and forceful Pokemon like Faima, it was absolutely difficult to stand around and watch. Susumu thought it was pretty lucky on his part though, thinking that Faima had the match all to herself. "Faima, you know what to do." It was all he could really say, yet Faima had plans that disagreed with Susumu's.
Still right beside the sleeping Staravia's form, she scoffed at how he was acting like a dead teenager on a Sunday afternoon. <Wake up! Come at it! Give me something fun!> She cawed, flapping her wings as she circled around the grey bird to get a better look at him. Deciding that attacking him wasn't enough to work, as displayed in the past few turns, the Chatot proceeded to stick her foot out and gave him a weak Chatot kick to the face. <Get up! Come on! Lazy! Slothful!> She continued to rage, flapping her wings loudly to try and scare him up. It wouldn't do any damage, but hopefully the shock of this turn would frighten the timid Staravia awake.
Susumu was left staring at this battle with a blank expression, not expecting Faima to do that. He wasn't as familiar with the bird as he thought, especially when she was being so morally motivated right now. "Eh...Faima. You're the one that put him to sleep." He couldn't help but comment on that, only earning a look of scorn in return. <I know that, but he shouldn't sleep for this long!> She retorted, giving Hunter another kick for good measure.

He couldn't really give commands until Hunter woke up. He groaned, tired of watching his own pokemon get pecked repeatedly. Sure it was pretty bad, especially considering all that he had gone through to get confidence, but Tristan was going to return his pokemon to the pokeball. Only to see that the chatot wanted a battle. Well at least someone agrees with him. <Come on Hunter. Wake up!> And Hunter woke up, slowly getting himself back into the air.
Hunter only groaned after waking up, still a little groggy. He felt a headache due to the repeated pecks. He hoped that this would be over, but he could at least still fight. "Alright. Use double team then use wing attack!" And suddenly, multiple copies were formed, making a flock of staravia attacking with their wings. Only one will hit though. |

At least with all of this pestering, the Staravia was finally waking up like the lazy bird he was. Faima wasn't sure about how to start the match until he was up and about, so she backed off and waited as patiently as a cat staring at a mouse hole. She knew he was going to come after her now, considering that Tristan was giving him the orders to attack. It wasn't very common when Pokemon disobeyed their trainers, so she was ready. Susumu seemed pretty pleased at her good sportsmanship, not expecting the Chatot to be so noble. She really was a pretty decent Pokemon, but it was a shame that she was so much weaker than the rest of his team. <About time.> She looked excited as the Staravia whipped up several weak looking copies of himself, not really the best cover after one Double Team. Still, it looked like a challenge that she was eager to meet.
The Wing Attack hit her pretty hard, not even remembering that the attack was this strong in the first place. She yelped and flew away from the Staravia after the move hit, glaring at him for being so surprising. For such a lazy bird, he could attack when he wanted to. "Alright, Faima. Wing Attack right back." It was code for Mirror Move, which she immediately understood after hearing Tristan label that attack. Faima took in Hunter's posture and figure when he finished his Wing Attack, then mimicked him almost exactly. Her wings were a bit smaller, but they looked stronger somehow when the Mirror Move was being used.
<Give this a shot.> She muttered, still feeling rather intimidated by this large bird. She didn't even know if she could stand up to such a large, proud and healthy male. Males tended to be a little physically stronger, and usually they had larger bodies. It would've been amazing if she could topple such a large foe, yet she had her doubts. It was weakening her Wing Attack quite a bit, making it a little easier for Hunter to endure.

He sighed, relieved that he woke up finally. The other thing he took note of was how Shamu and his chatot waited for him to wake up. It was like they were trying to help him keep his confidence up. Either that or they were bored of waiting. In either case, he rubbed the back of his head before making eye contact with him. "Thanks. For the wait and for the help." He said, smirk appearing before his lips. He watched as Hunter camouflaged himself within a small flock of his own kind. Albeit the clones were not very stable, it was at least good enough to hide a Pokémon within relatively well.
"Be careful Hunter." He said to his bird. Hunter watched as Chatot was surrounded, by he and his clones. He was pretty confident, especially with Tristan backing him up. He was confident that he could take this win. That was when he took note of how the chatot was imitating his movements. How was that possible? He didn't realize the power of mirror move as he was struck by the same attack he gave out. He fell back a little, the clones slowly disappearing. He didn't know what to say, or do, for this Pokémon could imitate his every move if it wanted. He turned back at Tristan, wondering what advice he could give.
"Its alright. Use another double team followed by a wing attack!" Hunter nodded, putting his faith in Tristan's words. Suddenly, many of the dissipating clones became more solid and more joined the flock. They all approached the chatot, with their wings at the ready. The real one would surely hit. "Make sure you stay with your flock and keep yourself hidden." He could only hope that Hunter could last till the end. |

Now that the battle was heating up like metal in an oven, the tension rose like hot steam between the two birds. Confidence and pride was brimming as Faima found herself dealing with improved clones in their most recent turn. The way they flew about in the air made them difficult to distinguish from one another, effectively confusing her from down below. She felt cautious as she flew around, flinching at the sounds of flapping wings when she heard the clones take action. She couldn't be certain of which Staravia was real, nor when Hunter was going to strike. She was left in suspense until the moment came, hitting her hard and knocking her backwards with a pained yelp. <Seriously?!> She squawked, flapping her wings with a wince as she got back onto her feet.
This double team was pretty impressive, leaving Susumu wondering if they should try to copy it. If they did, they were a bit limited on what they could do per turn. "Double Team, Faima." It was fun being able to copy such a diverse list of attacks, making the Chatot a very flexible battler. She lacked skills in strength and power, but she was very versatile when it came to surprising foes. She mirrored Hunter exactly, forming several transparent clones to form a small flock of her own. The group spread out into the mess of birds, hoping to add to the confusion of the match. She might be hesitating on attacking right now, but she was eager to peck the crap out of the real one as soon as she could.
It was a pretty interesting set up going on with the dual bird types taking flight. Faima was intimidated while Hunter was extremely weak after being put to sleep. A wing attack could easily take out either Pokemon, assuming the attack was able to hit the birds. Hunter was most likely going to dodge, but if luck was on Faima's side, then she'd be just as capable of dodging as well. It was hard to say who was going to win, but hopefully Hunter could continue to fight under pressure.

Things were getting much more intense, like a river with great flow. With each move, a wave that crashed. Hunter and Faima, both of whom were bird pokemon, were flying freely like the air, flexible like the water. Now that there were two flocks of birds, it seemed as though things would get interesting. Hunter kept himself perfectly camouflaged, his confidence up as he was able to put up such a great fight with his opponent. <Hahaha! This is g-great! I like this battle!> He shouted, not at all concerned that Faima was copying his tactics. He felt much more confident in skill battle, impressive considering this is his first battle as a staravia.
Tristan was having great fun, watching as everything went about freely and intensely. Not like he would physically reveal that, but he was certainly showing interest in battle. It all came down to these last few moments of battle. The moments of self expression for both trainer and fighter. "Haha! Alright, this is getting interesting." He said, smirking. Normally he wouldn't get involve with most things, especially if they were annoying. This battle was different, however, as evident in the voice he used. HE sounded much more prominent then usual. Not apathetic, or just focused, but full of actual energy and full of expression. "Overload the clones with your quick attack!" And all of the clones began to rush towards the Faima flock, attempting to weed out the real one before bringing themselves back to standby. |

Faima found herself getting excited and determined as the many bird clones weaved around each other in a delicate dance. They were all heated up and ready for the finishing blows, eager to end this match with a single strike. Each Pokemon looked ready to dodge whatever came their way, hiding in the safety of their fellow 'flocks' while the trainers watched from down below. <Good! Glad you managed to stay awake for it.> Faima teased him with a smirk, weaving behind another clone right after she said that. She mixed herself in the swarm of Staravia, using Hunter's clones as a cover for herself as she tried to keep an eye out for stray attacks.
"It is." Susumu nodded in agreement, grinning at Tristan when he saw how hyped up the other trainer was getting. Though he wasn't looking like the most emotional guy out there, he could still notice enough of a change in the guy's behavior to see that the battle was having an impact on him. "Faima, out of the way!" Susumu demanded, hoping Faima would be alert enough to pick up on where the speedy strike was coming from. Faima quickly looked around the swarm in concern, squawking quietly to herself as Hunter honed in on the real Chatot.
The attack hit hard, knocking her right out of the air and straight onto the ground. Her clones vanished upon having the owner faint, unable to keep up the illusion when her energy was this low. She struggled to push herself off of the ground, eager to continue the fight against this lazy bird. <U-Ugh...> She sighed, collapsing once more against the battlefield. The battle went to Hunter and Tristan this time around! "Ha, there you go. You're getting better at this." Susumu grinned at the Staravia, impressed at how he was improving in battle. Faima did a good job too, but Hunter had better luck than she did this time around. Taking out her Pokeball, he returned her for the time being. Poor bird needed some rest after that match. "Think I'm done here for now. She's gonna be a cranky one when she wakes up." He nodded at Tristan, allowing the trainer some space to celebrate his victory with his newly evolved Pokemon. With that, he was gone. At least their two crazy battles were over.
