Sure the Voltorb wasn't very refined in her attitude, but she was honest. At least now he would have an extra helping hand if something bad were to break out. Who knows, maybe they would fight side by side in a double battle? From what Voltorb had described, these city pokémon gangsters were intent on wrecking havoc upon the local community. Not only havoc, but actual war. Though he didn't know anything other than that, he was sure he would find out more as they got closer to the site of the explosion. Still though, for what reason would pokémon gang together and declare war on others? There must be a reason, no pokémon acts unjustified. They were more attuned to nature than humans, so if anyone had the answers, it would be them. The locals must have been terrified, and Cress had to admit his heart was beating faster as he approached the premises. He couldn't just walk away now could he? He was an aspiring pokémon breeder, it was his duty to learn about pokémon behavior! And if they went so far as to unleash explosives, then that must mean that something is gravely wrong.
With the restless egg in his arms, Cress was a little worried. An egg hatch during such a dangerous operation wasn't ideal. His skills as a father would truly be put to the test today, as his second pokémon egg was on the verge of hatching.
Coming up and around the bend, he got a clear view of the surroundings. Trash bins were scattered across the street, and some cars were turned upside down. The impact had clearly been big, and the damage great. Up ahead was a building, about 3 stories tall. The blast seemed to have happened there, which damaged everything around it. Cress almost couldn't believe his eyes, there was even smoke in some places! With the egg in arms, he hurried through the area. "Hello? Is anyone hurt?!" He was really worried now, someone might have been severely injured from the explosion. Maybe trapped somewhere. Or had lives been lost already? Cress dared not think that far, all that mattered was to ensure that nearby victims were safe. "Voltorb, do you see anything?" His strong voice carried, he was dead set on preventing casualties.

If I were you, I'd be careful, the scraggy doesn't fight fair at all. In fact, he prefers to stick to the shadows if you know what I mean. That's what makes him even more mysterious, but I'd love to rape his body over and over. I mean love, yeah, love. the voltorb corrected herself right away and sure enough another explosion occurred within the streets. Police were on the scene, and there was no way to get across the street besides to cross where all the police cars were set up. A blockade had formed, and things were quickly getting out of hand as the pokemon center was being targeted within the city. Obviously there was something that the scraggy wanted within it, and he was heading the assault on it. Pokemon were in swarms around the area, but his gang was just a few riley individuals with the audacity to take on the forces. Most of the police's pokemon were Growlithe's attempting to apprehend the suspects.
Every time one went in, they were thrown out with dizzy eyes at having been instantly fainted. It could be assumed that the scraggy had inside help of some sort as a mighty pounding could be heard on the ground. As well as a familiar pokemon's voice, but it was hard to get a good grasp on it. Cress would probably have to investigate the parking structure across from the pokecenter to get a better grasp on the situation. Still, something pounding on the ground made it so that the structure shaked quite a bit. So, what Cress would see would be a blank, and very dark space that no one ever came back from. No cops have tried entering since they were afraid of the pokemon attempting to assassinate them or something crazy.
Someone needed to take up the fight to them instead of to the center where innocent pokemon were being harmed. Yet, the scraggy didn't realize this either even if he was against humanity. This was all wrong, but would Cress step up to save the police force that seemed unexplainably weak in this city?

Then again he dawdled somewhat with the Voltorb earlier, having his Charmander faint and all that. So no wonder the Police arrived before him, even though he was right around the block. And now there was a barricade around the entire building where the explosion occurred. Sheesh. Well he could understand it, no civilians were allowed entry obviously. More importantly, Cress could make out what kind of building it was now. It was a Pokémon Center, there was no mistaking that large crimson roof that they were all equipped with. For familiarity purposes he reckoned. The Voltorb gave Cress some words of advice, or something that sounded like it underneath all her rowdy manner of speech. Cress put on a wry face when she corrected herself though, her intentions were SO obvious. "Tch, so he won't be easy to get to--" The boy snarled slightly at the frustration of how tricky this Scraggy would be to locate, but was interrupted mid-speech when the second blast went off. His eyes scanned the area, as the asphalt beneath his feet trembled. "W-what? Another one?!"
It seemed like the Center was being targeted, which was the only conclusion he could draw at this point. The number of hostile pokémon around them was increasing too, just what were they after? Cress was distressed, finding himself in the middle of it all made him incapable of calming down right now. However, his attention was averted from the Pokémon Center to a parking structure right next to them. He couldn't tell what it was, but it felt menacing. Not friendly. A crawling feeling ran up his back, as if telling him not to go in there. Sure the Police wouldn't be happy about it, but what if there was a clue in there? He swallowed, and looked around as he acknowledged the barricade. Holding his egg ever so tightly, the boy focused his eyes and took courage to heart. "I won't let you... Here I go!" He made a run for the opening, ignoring the barricade and the police officers nearby. He needed answers, and authority wouldn't stop him. He decided, he wasn't going to become a burden. He had to figure this out.
As soon as he entered the structure, he hoped the Voltorb would come with him. Well, not like the little electric ball would be worried about breaking through a police barricade. She seemed quite the immoral type anyway. But wait. Cress stopped as he came inside the structure. The egg in his arms was wobbling even more. "Oh crap, not now!" Right in the middle of his infiltration, when there could be a bloody assassin about, his egg was hatching! The timing couldn't have been worse. Whether it was his skills as a breeder, or a trainer, right now he wasn't sure what would save his hide if something were to go wrong.

-------- WILD SENTRET & SCRAGGY!
It was a pretty crappy time for an egg to hatch, but this Beldum was extremely impatient. The egg shell surrounding it was growing uncomfortable, and it had an intense urge to break out before the walls could suffocate it. An eerily dark red eye opened wide as the egg started to hover in Cress's arms, showing a life of its own as the shell began to disintegrate. Bit by bit, the egg shell fell to the ground like snowflakes scattering across the ground. Levitating in mid air with ease, a young Beldum stared right into the eyes of its new father. <H..H...> It seemed to want to say something, but it was having trouble speaking. Perhaps in time it would learn how to talk properly, but for now, it was stuck being a new born.
<Aww, what a cutie.> The Voltorb interrupted a potentially tender moment as she stared at the Beldum. At least that was what it looked like, as she started making a very sensual strut towards the steel type. The infant didn't pay any attention to her, since its father was more interesting than the commotion in the background. The Voltorb looked as if she found a new pleasuring object, but right when it looked as if she was going to pounce on the Beldum, she zoomed after an attractive model on the other side of the street. Looked as if she was going to be preoccupied for a while, leaving Cress on his own.
As the Scraggy continued to monitor the destruction in the area, its minions continued to do their part as they invaded the Pokemon Center. It was strange that they decided to take such a place hostage, but the police couldn't do much to stop them. Scraggy's gang had explosives that would've put the injured in danger, and that had the police in a panic. <Hoo ha! Hoo hoo ha!> A small Sentret bolted under several cars, focused on checking out the scene around them. Scraggy had asked for an important status report, and he was on the move. Things looked good so far; people were panicking, nobody was making a move to attack them, and the area was starting to clear out. Cress sure looked suspicious though, so he walked right up to him without a thought. <Hey, get out of here. Important stuff is going down here. He flopped onto his tail, balancing his fuzzy body as he wobbled left and right. He looked taller once he was on his tail, but he was still a sweet little Sentret. What harm could he possibly do?

It was even levitating, and it looked so curious and harmless. Such a tender moment it was when their eyes met, Cress couldn't think about anything else. No words were needed. He had never seen or heard of a pokémon like this, it seemed so rare. The Beldum was leveled with Cress' shoulders, and their eyes merely looked into each others. Cress carefully took out his pokédex and scanned the Beldum, as the display of the technological encyclopedia showed detailed information about the pokémon. Beldum was a steel/psychic type, and apparently a very rare pokémon too, only first to be discovered in the Hoenn region. Or so the information read. Cress shifted his focus from the pokédex to the Beldum, looking at it with the same curious expression that the Beldum had. Cress was proud alright, a cheerful smile formed on his face. "Axis! That's your name," He said, chucking the pokédex back in his pocket as he gently held is hands around Beldum, "You levitate, and you look like a screw. So I'll call you Axis!" He was so happy, naming pokémon that he himself had helped breed was just...entirely different. It was so cool. The Beldum didn't show any particular signs of emotion, it just stared at its trainer just like that. It didn't say anything, not a word.
"I guess you are telepathic, huh?" He concluded, after all this Beldum didn't show any sign of speech. It didn't say anything, nor did it seem like it had a mouth to speak with. Cress had never dealt with telepathic pokémon before, it's not like he was a very proficient breeder yet. He was barely learning the ropes, he still had a long way left to go. Still, he felt a strong bond form between himself and the Beldum. Cress really liked Axis, and he was going to do the best he could to raise it.
That's when the world around him started to move again. Cress had been really absorbed into the moment, and totally didn't see the Voltorb bolting away. "H-hey!" He called, but it was futile. The Voltorb disappeared, and that left Cress rather grumpy. Tch, and I even spent a potion on you... But he couldn't dwell on it, such was the world of wild pokémon. They lived their own life, and bombings and explosions didn't interest everyone. Still, Cress was rather surprised. Apparently he had to go through with this operation on his own. Not much later did a Sentret appear, and out of nowhere too. It was rather angry, if not pissed off entirely. But considering the circumstances, it was probably related to the gang that Voltorb had spoken of earlier. Cress wasn't exactly scared of it, but he was intimidated by the little fellow's enthusiasm. "I-Important stuff?" He shook his head and scoffed, "Bombs have just gone off here, I won't just 'get lost'! Do you know anything about this, Sentret?" Cress was familiar with Sentret, they were plentiful on the woods and plains of Johto, so he didn't feel like he needed the pokédex for that one. Still, what would a Sentret be doing out in the city? So many questions were left unanswered, and he needed to get to the bottom of this!
Still rattled from earlier, Cress took a stand with the Beldum in his arms. The curious little steel pokémon still unaware of the serious situation. "Sentret, what the hell is going on?!" He exclaimed, frustrated and resolute. Bombing a pokémon center? This has got to stop!

The sentret's tail wavered slightly as the trainer talked to him, and then his mind was focused on taking care of this nuisance. You were warned, insolent and impudent worm. You will taste the wrath of the 'Bash yo skull in" gang. I am the third lietunant and the weakest. I'm sure I can give you a run for your money though no matter what! he said pointedly. Still he wasn't going to back down, but even getting a status report might not help that much either. Scraggy was watching from high up upon the parking structure where he had taken the car seat out of a car and made himself a make shift throne too. Although Cress couldn't see it from ground level and would have to climb it to get to him. The attack on the pokecenter was stopping soon, but it could be seen that they were dragging people back as hostages to try negotating the release of the pokemon perhaps. That was the scraggy's original plan.
One trainer could ruin it all though with just a swift kick of his pokemon into gear to take this whole operation down. Of course, this might start affecting all routes soon, and a total uprising of wild pokemon would start. Maybe the swarm pokemon were behind it, but there was no way to really tell just then since Cress was in the city. Still, the sentret wasn't going to wait for Cress to make the first move now and suddenly lifted himself down enough on his tail to make it useful for a good attack. That was when his whole body started to gain a sheen to it and without warning he charged at the trainer.
Too late, you had your first warning, now die! the sentret burst forth with a sprint of anger towards the trainer suddenly as the tail seemed to give him enough momentum to aim straight at Cress.

His only choice was to get through this on his own, with the help of his pokémon. Honestly he was still a bit rattled by everything, the bombing, the chaos, all of it. And to see a pokémon center under attack didn't make matters better. Cress wanted to stop it, pokemon weren't supposed to act like this! Deliberately harming humans and running rampant? Something was terribly wrong. And the only lead he had right now was this Sentret, whom apparently was Scraggy's third in command. Third... So Cress had to fight and defeat the Scraggy's subordinates huh? Right now it didn't look like he had much of a choice, and it seemed like the only way to get to Scraggy and put an end to this nonsense! Cress didn't get much time to heed the Sentret's warning, and soon the little creature was making a beeline for him, intent on taking him down. Cress wasn't prepared for that at all. It all happened so quickly that Cress barely had time to react, but all he could do was take a step back.
But that's when his Beldum acted. Out of his arms, the brave little dumbbell shot a Take Down attack to counter the Sentret. The two attacks would collide, and the Sentret would hopefully be pushed back a bit. Still, the Beldum was rather weak in its current state, and the Quick Attack hurt it quite a bit despite not being very effective. "A-Axis...!" Cress fumbled over his words, he was amazed at seeing his Beldum take up the fight. Although the Beldum didn't express any specific sign of emotion, and only kept staring at Sentret; It was actually protecting its trainer. Still so young and new to the world, the hostile Sentret obviously came off as an intimidating factor. Then again, maybe the Beldum was just copying Sentret? At this point it was hard for Cress to tell, regardless, Beldum was in for the fight. "Be careful, Axis. That Sentret is tough!" Cress exclaimed, taking a stand behind his Beldum. He wouldn't let his Beldum fight alone, no way. They were in this together!

Ah, the pokemon was trying to retaliate was it? The sentret didn't like that one bit, not at all even as the attack came the sentret expected it to be a very weak attack just then. Not common knowledge among wild pokemon such as himself that such a little object would have such a powerful move. The takedown literally hurt his arm but he still held it up as he clutched the beldum's exterior on it's head as the takedown literally shattered throughout his entire body. It hurt only a little, but the pain wasn't as bad as what the sentret was about to do to the helpless beldum right in front of him. Scraggy looked down at the fight to see a trainer interfering with his plans and figured things were going to get ugly pretty soon.
Your efforts are futile and if this is all you have, I'm afraid you won't even make it past me! the little sentret said to the beldum as claws came crashing down from the right side to aim for the beldum's eye for a slight change of pace. Suddenly the sentret's whole body shivered a little and it looked like he was closing his eyes to stare into the beldum's soul. Using foresight was such a useless waste of his energy against the beldum, but the sentret really didn't know better at the moment as his tail swayed quickly. Instead of giving the trainer a chance to respond he was going to keep up the onslaught.

Sure enough though, its steel affinity gave it a clear advantage in type. But Beldum wasn't nearly as experienced as the Sentret, and that was a big disadvantage. Cress was aware of this, and that he probably wouldn't win this Sentret over with Beldum's current firepower. Regardless, this was a very important match for both himself and the Beldum, after all it was Beldum's first actual battle. Though new to the world, this experience would be valuable to its growth. For now Cress would allow his little friend to butt heads with the Sentret, he would make sure to retrieve it once he deemed Beldum to have gone through enough. At any rate, they would manage to weaken the Sentret quite a bit before Cress brought out a stronger pokémon. So for now, this was their plan.
The Beldum didn't react at all to the Foresight, remaining oblivious and unshaken as it stared at the Sentret. However the Scratch attack did some more damage. There was also a recoil affect to Take Down, which was adding up from the fact that the hit earlier was successful. It was a double edged sword. The Beldum wouldn't stand a chance like this. However Cress monitored closely, his Beldum would make it through.
"Axis, let's go again. Use your Take Down!" Cress exclaimed, the tense situation still keeping a tight grip around his frazzled mind. However this battle was starting to help Cress regain his calm, but only slightly. He would get to the bottom of this, defeat the Sentret, and make his way to the top of the parking structure! If he could stop Scraggy's gang, and possibly defeat Scraggy himself, then the pokémon center would be saved. Maybe he could get some answers as well, to this whole scenario and why it seemed so weird for pokemon to be attacking humans. He would be sure to uncover the truth. The Beldum, now feeling the strain of its first battle, did still not show any signs of emotion. It merely shot itself in the direction of Sentret, heading for it with another Take Down attack. It was almost like a rocket, darting straight for its target.

-------- WILD SENTRET & SCRAGGY!
It was rather strange battling against this blue dumbbell, since it was unlike any Pokemon the Sentret had ever seen before. It didn't look as if his attacks were doing too much, but the Beldum's recoil was making a huge difference. The small runt was hurting himself in the attacking process, much to the Sentret's amazement. <You deserve that.> He growled at the Beldum with narrowed eyes, looking absolutely furious at the robotic Pokemon. It was like fighting a floating arm, and this was the strangest arm wrestling match he had ever participated in. He let out an angry chatter as the Beldum rammed into his hip, leaving a pretty tough bruise behind for the Sentret to remember. Not that it was the worst injury ever, but the Beldum was pretty pushy for a new born.
Deciding that it was time to stop going easy on this runt, the Sentret quickly gave Cress and Axis the double finger. It was a lewd symbol he picked up from the humans in the city, and everyone seemed to know what it meant. <I'll jam this somewhere! You have to have something, you bug eyed creep.> Slightly awkward to be picking on a minor like this, but the Sentret wasn't thinking. It was easy to simply blurt out whatever came into his head, then to apologize for it later if it was really that offensive. Getting down on all fours, he rushed towards the Beldum with a swift Quick Attack.

Apparently Beldum's Take Down wasn't even doing any damage at this point, causing Cress to let out a short troubling sigh. The difference in power must have been great if the Take Down couldn't even flinch the Sentret, but luckily thanks to that the recoil didn't do anything either. So there were plus sides to that. But the Beldum still put up a good fight, butting heads just like the Sentret did. For the Beldum it was a fairly simple situation, just charge head first into something, right? It hadn't really understood the complex situation, or connected the dots to what everyone were talking about. But it could use an attack move, and that made it able to protect its poor defenseless trainer from this horrible menace of a Sentret! Well, so far anyway. The Beldum wasn't entirely familiar with itself at all, and did not know the phenomenon of actually becoming tired. It showed no symptoms yet, but it somehow felt it more tiresome to hold itself levitating above ground. This was especially true when the Quick Attack slammed right into it. The Beldum staggered back a bit, the damage from the attacks steadily accumulating. Cress would have to finish this battle thoroughly with the help of another pokémon, but for now he wanted to monitor the Beldum a little more. "Take Down, Axis!" Beldum again shot itself forward, aiming to crash his metallic body into the Sentret once more. Not a very big movepool, but it was the only move the Beldum could use apparently. The recoil would also tear it down faster than usual.

It was of no importance to the sentret what this beldum was thinking and now he had to keep his head in the game if he wanted to win this thing. Yes, he wasn't going to back down, and now that they had started their little rumble it was time to kick it up a notch. Finally he could focus on this battle and the little beldum wasn't doing anything to really scratch him that much. Alright, one and two and flex! the sentret said as he suddenly curled up into a ball again only increasing his defenses against the little beldum to make it harder to hit him. The take down made the sentret fall back onto his tail and then literally sprung back up with his claws coming up to hit the little beldum across the face with a clever scratch attack. The writer of this post apologizes for any shortness of it's length, for he had to head to bed right away.
