DETECTIVE NICK!!!Nick was shocked to see the now lifeless Ledian. Hopefully in the afterlife he would train with the guardian Ledian's of the world, enter some tournaments, and maybe unlock some Super Ledian stage.
Cero would shake his claw, getting the mess he made off of his indestructible steel. Nick's Scizor was a spartan, a bred warrior who faced any adversary. Nick smirked, seeing this Cacturne was prepared to battle one of his most tactical and brutal Pokemon. "Cero." Nick said his voice low, and deep. The Scizor looked back and looked over at the carnage behind.
His wings fluttered and the metal bug disappeared. His speed was outstanding once boosted by Agility. The Scizor would appear in front of the Cacturne, "Slash.", Nick said quickly while he was raising his claw to strike the cactus down. Claws and spikes, this was the start of a very vicious battle.

SUDDENLY! A strange black cloud arose around just that area, and within it a yellow lightning bolt suddenly shot up into the sky as a huge ass chinese dragon suddenly formed with a mustache to make the monopoly man look jealous. One hand raised down to literally strike the ledian's dead body and suddenly he was alive again! Still fainted, but alive, and this would probably be because some bugs had found something akin to bug balls to revive the poor dead insect. They had done this in a matter of minutes and gathered all seven in less than an hour, but suddenly it disappeared just as fast as if nothing had happened. This all happened within a matter of thirty seconds and wouldn't be able to be followed by the normal human eye.
The mod also just wanted to add this for his own kicks and giggles, but back to the serious stuff. Oh, the ledian was brought back to life, because he felt bad for making the trainer feel bad. The cacturne's smile it had turned into an even more sadistic one as the sharp teeth started to glisten with saliva as drool fell over that weird ass grin it had on it's face. Suddenly the shadows around them all even as the scyther was moving forwards made the cacturne suddenly throw seeds all around itself to protect itself from the scyther's attack. Also to steal more health too and make him even more of a formidable foe. No words were said, instead he just kept smiling following the scyther's movements somewhat easily too. That was when the cacturne basically disappeared into thin air as his body materialized right behind the scizor's with an uppercut aimed at the scizor's jaw then disappeared as soon as it connected to disappear back to it's previous spot. Of course the faint attack was a fake out and didn't work as intended as the shadow passed through the scizor.
The move was harmless since it was just a leech seed that was used, but the cacturne wanted to let the scizor know who the true puppet here was.
Still grinning and then looking like he was getting bored while tilting his head thinking the scizor really wasn't a good test of his abilities.

DETECTIVE NICK!!!Nick took a step back, this was a battle Cero would have to fight alone. This was a fight that would require only skill and technique - not plethora of moves. The speed boosted bug would use Focus Energy channeling his strength into his claws. He was looking for some luck in a critical hit on this puppet master.
Cero was thrown off by the sleights this Cacturne was using. The uppercut was not really and attack, but a distraction. He was caught by the sapping vines, losing health slowly as the Cacturne looked at ease. The Scizor would rush forward disappearing with the winds. He would appear in front of the Cacturne, he wanted a battle - a technical, Naruto-style combat, he was going to get it.
The Scizor crouched, fluttering his wings to occupy the Cacturne's sense of sound. The sound would resonate from the front, but the speedy Scizor would move in blinding speeds to behind his foe; like he had use Shunshin or such. Behind the dark-type he would raise his claw and swipe the left leg of the cactus with Fury Cutter. He had to cripple this opponent, the trickery would have to cease. First target, his legs, hinder his movements.

The cacturne was ingrained and rooted to the ground already so making him crippled wouldn't work at all. Hell, the cacturne had just been using his shadow the entire time. No reason to go all out just yet, but noticing the scizor's attack heading straight for him made the cacturne's smile grow wider. Welcome to the show! he said suddenly as the shadows all around them seemed to dance and suddenly it was another strange attempt at a cool attack. Except this time it was a slash aimed straight for Cero's gut with precise accuracy due to the shadow on the ground while the Cacturne was still there watching him. It showed no signs of resisting the fury cutter since he didn't bother dodging it. Getting rejuvenated by the Earth itself and the leech seed, he felt like a million dollars now. Yes, that's it, this battle is so pointless, I don't even see why I should waste my time on you, the cacturne remarked.
Feigning a yawn, even as he coughed up spikes from where he was standing, but he felt the fury cutter hurt him. Whether or not this Cero thing was serious, he'd have to watch out for that attack. It was definitely not a good one to get hit by over and over, so keeping his guard up. Despite how much of a sitting duck he was now even after slashing the scizor with a faint attack this time. Oh yes, he hadn't disappeared for real, and now used his own shadow with a raging vengeance to do his bidding. The cacturne was certainly a formidable foe as the leech seed gave him health back too, and he was still strong.
Suddenly the cacturne released it's spikes on it's body to literally litter the ground around the opponent's team to damage any other incoming pokemon to the battlefield.

NICK'S RED FLASH!The prideful Scizor buckled at the sapping of his health, but he only winced for a second. As spikes littered across the flooring, he knew that finishing this himself was imperative. As looked up he would cross his arms to be met by a spiky faint attack. Thanks to his durability and typing, the bug didn't sustain much damage.
Scizor would rise from his crossed arm position and use Focus Energy. It was like recharging himself as he watched the Cacturne speak down to him. Words did not bother Cero, but the fact that this Cacturne thought he was going to win. Scizor smirked and raised his claw, with his outstanding speed - he was gone. All that was behind was a red afterimage, which looked very transparent.
Coming from above the speeding bullet would use Fury Cutter again, to attempt to swipe away at the Cacturne. It's power would be enhanced by natural growth, in addition to his ability. If the Cacturne is hit, he will feel the strength of the claws increasing. Beware for Cero only gets better - and better.

But still it was not too bad for the Cacturne as he received a nice boost from his ingrain which replenished his health every turn, although with each go around he did begin to lose more and more health as he continued the battle. This attack, unlike the last, was twice as powerful and really made an impact on his body. He felt his wounds open up from it and felt a real surge of pain and pleasure rush through his blood into his body which the ingrain was unable to fulfill at that particular moment. The leech seed helped give some more replenishment but it still made little difference compared to how much he was losing with each attack. He was in a bit of a pickle situation now, although he still had faith in his talents and shadows.
>Beware... DARKNESS!< He said once more as he hid in the shadows for the most opportune moment to strike once more. Again with a faint attack but unlike last time, he was employing a different strategy to this. And hopefully one that would be even more effective.

NICK'S RED FLASH!Cero realized how much health this Cacturne was getting in return. Although there was nothing he could do about it, he wanted to finish this match early. His eyes narrowed as the Cacturne once again vanished into the darkness.
He was faster, but he knew how he would have to finish this match. The attack hit again, not very effective to his steel coating. As he took the hit, he would charge up and swipe at the Cacturne's right side with Fury Cutter. He would aim at the cactus' belly region hoping to sever the puppetmaster there. His attack was getting strong, but his health was depleting. Leech Seed had sapped the Scizor once again.
Cero knew this was a battle of timing. He was losing health rapidy, and the Cacturne was gaining. Cero was going against the clock.

-------- WILD CACTURNE & MANKEY!
As spikes collided into armor, the friction created a sharp screech that sent the Cacturne backwards. The noise was like a whistle being blown straight into his ear drums, and it wasn't appreciated after getting attacked like this. For a puppet master, he was quickly losing control of his own show. If only the Scizor had been a weaker foe, then perhaps he'd be able to have more fun with his battles. The Scizor's claw looked dangerous as it bulked up in power and speed, and the Cacturne could only get a glimpse of it as it swiped at his right side. <YYYyyewow!> He hissed as the Fury Cutter shoved him away, forcing his health into the mid red until reinforcements could arrive.
'Hear that, boys? The master is in trouble.' 'He in trouble?' 'Yehhhh he in trouble awwrite. Go go go go!' The Leech Seed orbs blew their war trumpets as they ran from the Scizor, sapping more of its health as they ran towards their master. Each one put on nurse caps as they kissed and tended to Master Cacturne's injuries, giving him a useful boost of health for the time being. It was a temporary thing, but it was worth it. The vines that were glued onto his legs like shackles refused to budge, keeping the Cacturne in battle as they gave him a steady stream of health. The combination kept his muse for battling going strong as he glared at the Scizor.
This beast of a knight was strong alright, but he wasn't giving up without putting his all into the fight. <Heh. You think you're very smart, don't you? One more Fury Cutter and that'll do it? Is that what you think?> The Cacturne laughed as he used a Sand Attack on the Scizor, doing whatever he could to force the odds in his favor. Once he saw a shy looking Mankey watching from the tree tops, he grinned. This was his chance! With another laugh, he forced several vines out of the earth to jump after the frightened Mankey. Once she was in his grasp, he held her tightly to his chest with several spikes nearing her throat. <Ta ta ta. I wouldn't attack me if I were you. It's not that hard to slit a throat these days.> He gave a malicious grin to the trainer as he adjusted his arm below the Mankey's throat, giving everyone a good view of the situation. What now?

NICK'S RED FLASH!Cero staggered as his health was sapped again. With his health lowering quickly he would have to find a solution. This Cacturne was devious, taking in a hostage. The Mankey looked frightened, what innocent bystander wouldn't be.
Cero looked back at Nick for orders. Nick would not bail his Scizor out of this situation. "You know what to do." He said. Crossing his arms he would continue to watch the battle. Cero had never doubted himself before, but why now? He didn't want to be the cause of the innocent getting hurt, right? He closed his eyes tightly as he looked deep inside.
Why was he doubting his skill? Where was his confidence? Where was that glorious pride and spirit? Was it all taken away by some sneaky puppet master cactus? It was. And as his eyes open no longer would that be the case. I am faster. I am stronger. I am better. The crimson bug thought as he disappeared. Like seriously, he faded away.
That's how damn fast he was moving as his claw became a bright red. His second ability Swarm had taken over, Fury Cutter was too strong now to be amp'd by Technician. His speed was maxed as he attempted to sever the arm of the Cacturne completely with his Fury Cutter. Cero hoped he was fast enough to save the Mankey, he aimed to take the arm of the Cacturne off completely. This was no holds barred, the gloves were off with this attack.

The cacturne seemed to sense something was amiss with the way the scizor just disappeared as the shadows themselves bended and folded inwards. The mankey was suddenly the one being targeted now as the Cacturned shifted hiim just right so that she would end up fainting from such a powerful attack. Suddenly she passed out and the Cacturne tossed her aside as he suddenly shot out another sand attack at his foe. Pathetic weakling, couldn't even stand up to your might, but what now, fellow knight are you really going to try finishing me off. Why not just end this all right now? he asked calmly.
The shadows beneath him suddenly flying up into the air as more sand was sprayed at the scizor in an attempt to blind him further. The more his accuracy decreased, the more the shadow puppet master could torture the mankey as she lay there asleep. Some vines crawled to the mankey's legs and started slithering all around her body until she was in a coccoon that couldn't be broken unless the Cacturne was defeated soon. A shadow engulfed it suddenly dragging her down into the ground where he would make use of her body and turn her into a shadow puppet. Yes, that was his goal now.
The real question was, could even be stopped? The health flooded back to the cacturne again, but he was afraid of the scizor hitting him this time, cause then he'd really be finished with that next fury cutter.

NICK'S RED FLASH!Cero's resolve was firm. By the power invested in his crimson claws he would bring down this devilish being. The Scizor bowed his head for the fallen Mankey, but he would finish this match deliberately. This Cacturne had no honor, and a true warrior like Cero did not value that at all.
The sand rushed towards the bug, creating a small opening as the veil blocked his vision and also the attackers. The after image of him would fade as the grains pierced the distorted image of Cero. With his speed he was able to dodge a slow attack like that with ease. From above, with justice he would bring down his claw hoping to slice the fiend down with his Fury Cutter.
His eyes were serious. Cold. Nick was intrigued by his Scizor's performance. The two fighters were quite different in resolve and purpose - but their battle style quite the same. They both sought to finish their opponent entirely. Nick liked that. Oh he liked that a lot. Power.

-------- WILD CACTURNE & MANKEY!
Ha! So the Scizor was going to be respectful and polite? The Cacturne had to laugh at the bug's nobility on the battlefield, feeling as if it was nothing but feelings gone to waste. His shadow puppet was a worthless sack of meat, which he planned on consuming later. There was nothing the trainer could do to stop him, and the Mankey was still one of his puppets for him to control. As hilarious as it would've been to have the Mankey make his attacks for him, the Cacturne could sense how strong Cero was at this point. This was the time to be concerned for his own well being, instead of mocking the weakness of others. <Delicious health.> Cacturne laughed as the Leech Seed returned more health, just in time for the following impact. It was cold, sharp, and extremely painful at this moment. The Cacturne struggled to stand up after enduring the attack, and he even had to lean on his own vines for support as he glared at the group. <You think you've won? Foolish.> He scowled, spreading out his arms like the wings of a Murkrow ready to take flight.
Each of his spikes started to grow, collecting the faint amount of sunlight that drizzled between the gaps in trees. It wasn't a lot of sunlight, but it was enough to sharpen the needles on his body. Once he felt as if he could make a decent attack, the Cacturne tossed the Mankey to the side. She was useless to him now, and all of his energy had to be spent on the Scizor. <Good luck.> As if he meant what he said, but he talked anyways to make himself feel heard. Mimicking Cero, the Cacturne vanished into the shadows. His speed wasn't the greatest, but he had a few tricks that could get him around in a battle. The Ingrain continued to give him health as he slipped under the Scizor, struggling not to smirk as his arms reached out of the dirt and grass.
It was the best surprise attack he could manage with his Faint Attack. If this worked, he could at least trip the Scizor by knocking his legs over. The Cacturne cackled as he jumped back out of the ground, feeling as if he accomplished something great for making such a sneaky attack. If this didn't knock out the Scizor, then he was done for. Of course he was confident in his powers, but this Scizor was something else.

NICK'S RED FLASH!Cero was surprised as the Cacturne attacked him from below. The steel beast didn't worry about those puny thorns, maybe if he was raising his attack from the start those thorns could damage his steel. As he staggered, his health reaching its end his eyes began to fail him.
There was now two of everything and the world was spinning. He was panting hard, moving so fast and still having his energy sucked away was a lot for any Pokémon. This type of fatigue would cause a normal battling Pokémon to faint and be out for days. But Cero's resolve was pretty clear.
"Cero get up. You are a warrior, fatigue on the body is nothing, don't let that fatigue fool your mind." Nick said with an encouraging tone. He didn't want to interfere, but this Cacturne was playing a lot of games. He was messing with Cero's head and emotions, and that was slightly getting to the warrior. Panting, the Scizor rose and his vision still shaking he looked at the Cacturne.
Rocks began to crack as the bug used Focus Energy. A crimson aura shot around the Scizor, changing the winds. The aura grew even larger as Scizor bellowed, waking the whole forest. His eyesight straigtened and he had tunnel vision on his target. His joints tightened as he let out a cool breathe, and took a final look at his poor opposition. With another battle cry the Scizor shot straight for the Cacturne with his claw extending forward. This would hopefully be the last blow - his powered up Fury Cutter.

The cacturne could only take so much, but the next hit was the finishing move as it was a critical hit. Definitely something that wouldn't have been cool if it hadn't been a move that hadn't gained so much power. Even so, the cacturne's shadow mastery skills couldn't even contain his desire for power as he fainted, but he stayed upright while his vines kept him upright. It was hard to tell but the vines were slowly whiddling away as the sun seemed to be causing them to drain of their color. That was when the cacturne's eyes slowly closed and he fell forward rather dramatically. It was like watching a girl wrapped in the same sort of vines falling over slowly laying her down to rest. Except in this case it was a pokemon and the images would probably be pleasing.
Still both the mankey and cacturne could now be caught as everything was silent. No more shadows to worry about and the cacturne's figure was face down in the mud. A fitting end for such a shadowy guy. Most fights wouldn't have lasted long at all, but given the right moves and TMs this guy could be a rather devastating force to be reckoned with. Luckily things weren't going to go the way they usually did and instead all the pokemon on the field would just enjoy their face time with the ground until they were caught. A moment of silence, and that was at least what this trainer deserved right now.

NICK'S RED FLASH!The red warrior landed to his knee as he saw his foe fall before his eyes. The Scizor proceeded to shut his eyes, panting from the long, hard-fought battle. Nick would arrive at the side of the bug and place his hand on Cero's back. The proud trainer smiled as he withdrew a Luxury Ball.
"Good job." Nick complimented before throwing the ebony orb towards the cactus. Cero definitely proved himself to be one of Nick's greatest fighters. He really knew what it meant to go the limit and put it all on the line in battle. A warrior at heart, Nick could not be any happier in having someone on his team.
With a snap of his fingers, he would also look to the skies for his Salamence. As Bakuryuu landed, Nick would await the results of the capture. He had spent quite some time in this forest and it was time to escape this daze. Nick was quite an escapist, unable to cope with the realities of the world. He often found himself in seemingly purposeful situations, but these sidequests are only holding him back from his main goal. This puppeteer and crazed Cacturne oddly made him realize that. It was time to beeline to the Elite Four!

Everything was silent safe for the sound of rustling leaves as the wind blew through the trees and played with them. A thick fog descended on the forest and enveloped it in a milky white curtain, making it hard to navigate unless you had a Pokémon with Defog or a good eyesight. The weather was turning cold as Fall approached and most of the quiet forest's inhabitants left early, returning to their comfortable and warm homes. The sun was already going down and soon only the predators and other nocturnal Pokémon will be found on Route 3. If the trainer wanted to catch, for example, a Croagunk or a Liepard, now was the best time to do so. Otherwise, he should find a place for the night if he doesn't want to sleep outdoors.
The fog avoided the Cacturne like the plague for some unknown reason; it might have felt the darkness in the puppet master's heart and didn't want to touch such a disgusting and twisted creature. The Luxury Ball cut through the mist like a hot knife through butter as it flew towards the thorny bastard. It collided with the Pokémon's head and snapped open, releasing dozens of bright beams that wrapped around the Cacturne's limp body. The cactus creature was turned into light by the glowing tendrils and dragged into the capturing device. The ball closed shut and rested on the ground while the Cacturne made an attempt to break free. Its desperate tries only resulted in a weak shake of the orb and soon it was caught.

NICK'S RED FLASH!Nick walked over and would pick up the new addition to his team. Taking a look into the skies the trainer began to smiled as he thought about his times on this route. After months of training Nick finally felt as if he was ready to take on the fourth gym. Grabbing his belongings he would walk over to Bakuryuu. "Let's fly." He said as he hopped on the behemoth's back. The two would fly off - it was time to get that fourth badge.
Level 51 Used Fly NOTES: TO THE GYM. Short and sweet. End.
