Alivia jogged into the city and looked around. She needed a Pokemon Center, and one rather quickly. It had already started to rain again and she didn't want to get anymore wet then she already was.
Sighing, she pulled her thin little wind-breaker over her head to keep her head from getting any more soaked than it already was. She continued to look around for the noticeable red roof of a Pokemon Center.
"They really shouldn't hide it. . . ," she muttered to herself, feeling irritable and cold and tired and wet.
It took a while and some unsociable moments for her to to find it, and when she did she ran straight for it. The automatic doors couldn't open fast enough and she nearly crashed into them, but she hit the breaks and squeazed through them sideways.
Panting, she stood in the doorway for a second to catch her breath, then she walked up to the counter and set her Pokeballs down. "Nurse Joy! Can you-- Heal my-- Pokemon?" she asked between breaths, hanging on the counter top. She really needed to get in shape.

The Poke center was filled with trainers of all types, healing Pokemon, trading, and some just relaxing. To your right, you see a diner and some red tables and to the left, are stairs that lead to rooms that trainers may stay the night in if the weather outside is terrible. A nurse Joy, one of many nurse Joys ran around behind the counter, a large, pink Chancey following her. Noticing the exhausted trainer come in and ask for healing, Nurse Joy quickly handed the Chancey a bag of items and then turned her attention to the girl. "Sure.. sure, we're just very busy tonight." Nurse Joy smiled, taking the trainer's Poke balls to the machine. Ding ding ding-ding-ding! Red lights went across the machine and Nurse Joy returned the trainer's Poke balls over to her. "Hope to see you again soon!"

Alivia sighed in relief and looked around the little building at all of the busy bodies while she waited for her Pokemon. When the Nurse returned with them, she gave her a bright smile.
"Thank you! I hope it simmers down a little bit for you," she said, taking the Pokeballs and putting them back in her pack before turning and walking to one of the little diner seats. She was not going to be going back into the rain.
She sat down in one of the seats and leaned back, heaving a big breath. It had been a long little walk through the forest and she was feeling tired, but not yet tired enough to go and find herself a room. Or even ask for one. She just wanted to sit and rest for a few minutes while she dried off.

::hoothoot::
" Ohhohoho. Dear me, look at all of this rain. " A clown from the center of the room exclaimed, entertaining a bunch of younger trainers that ended up being trapped inside of the Pokemon center. His large water proof coating would seem like he would handle the outdoors just fine, but he would much rather stay dry and practice for his next Pokemon show than catch a cold and miss the next one. Besides, he spent so much effort rubbing make up all over his face. With a flick of his wrists, a Pokeball was flung into the air, flowing through the next hand and switching over like a giant Ferris Wheel of Pokeballs. The clown gave a chuckle as he bounced one of them to a child, then to another who looked at them with a confused glance. He twirls around while exclaiming at the top of his breath, " Throw them onto me, and I'll catch them!" he boldly proclaimed, something that neither child thought he could do while looking like a crippled dancer. Nevertheless they did so, and as soon as they did, his partner began to form several ghastly objects of her own. Some type of energy circled around her, and were launched into the clown as well, several of the glowing balls actually caught each Pokeball in their grip. The clown stopped spinning, and effortlessly held them in his hands while they were suspended in mid-air. " Thank you, thank you." He bowed, along with the Hoothoot beside him with a proud curtsy. " Marcus the clown and Lady Hearts are always willing to show off their contest abilities. But what we really wish for is a chance to prove our battling abilities, and what safer place to do this than in a Pokemon Center?" Marcus smiled at the kids, but they seemed more intimidated about battling an adult, so remained silent. [/sup]

Alivia looked over at the sound of the loud voice and sat with her hand holding her head up and she watched the clown do his little tricks with the Hoothoot standing next to him.
She giggled and shook her head when it was done. The kids were so easily entertained with the littlest things. She thought it was a pretty good display for a contest, but she couldn't help wondering why a clown? She thoughts clowns were a little creepy.
When "Marcus the Clown" made an open challenge for a battle, she stood up. They were in a Pokemon Center, so if their Pokemon got hurt the Nurse could just hop on over and make that better, and she needed something to do while she waited for the sun to go down.
"Hey, Mr. Clown, I'll battle you," she called, pulling Charmy's Pokeball from her pack and holding it in her hand. "I'm always up for a challenge."
She stepped away from her table, leaving her pack there so she didn't have to worry about it during her battle and walked toward the clown, smiling. Creepy or not, she was willing to show these kids something more fun.

"Hoho!" Exclaimed the clown, who examined the challenging trainer with interest. "Very well, my vigorous friend. You can go first." He stepped back, beckoning to his hoothoot to take the stage. The owlish bird hopped up excitedly, awaiting the opponent's first move.
The kids in the room watched with awe, as most of them hadn't seen a public battle in quite a long time. They had to learn as much as possible before becoming trainers themselves.

Alivia smiled and threw her Pokeball out in front of her. It opened up before it hit the ground and released her Charmander, Charmy, in a flash of light. The rested Pokemon shook his head, then looked around.
"Alright, Charmy! It's battle time! Use Ember!" Alivia called, taking her position right behind her little salamander-like Pokemon, grinning with excitment. Her first trainer battle!
Charmy finally noted the Hoothoot in front of him and smiled. Woo! He got to play at last! He swung his flame-tipped tail out in front of him, took a hold of it, then took a deep breath and blew hard on his tail. He didn't blow it out like it kind of looked like he was doing, but he created a barrage of tiny little flames that zoomed toward his opponent.

As Lady Hearts wasn't exactly prepared, she got hit by the attack swiftly. She had almost totally plummeted to the ground when she straightened herself up to avoid further damage than the Ember attack had done to her. Then she glared in a mean way at the Charmander. <How inpolite! You attacked without telling me you were going to use Ember!> Her description of polite was probably quite different from Alivia's, but Lady Hearts didn't know that. Her face was a bright red, and she seemed incredibly mad.
Diving at the Charmander, the Hoothoot used a Hidden Power attack. Since her Stats were compiled in a certain way, the attack created a ghostly version of herself, and began lunging itself at the Charmander. Lady Hearts smirked in a satisfied manner as the ghost found its way towards Charmy. She didn't bother telling the Charmander her double, ghost-version was coming towards him. If she listened to her own rules, she would've told Charmy that a Hidden Power was coming towards the Pokemon, but since she didn't, she just smiled. Or rather, smirked.

Charmy gave the Hoothoot a weird look. {What are you talking about? This is a battle. . . Why would I tell you what I was going to do?} he asked, thouroughly confused. None of the other Pokemon he had battled had asked that of him. . .
He didn't have enough time to ponder the Hoothoot's weird request: a strange and ghostly image of Lady Hearts was flying toward him, and he wasn't the bravest Pokemon out there.
"Cha-a-a-r!" he cried, lifting his arms into the air and running away from the attack. He didn't need to be told that the attack was coming, as he could see it plain as day, and he still wasn't too sure what he should do about it.
"Charmy! Don't run away from it!" Alivia muttered, hitting her forhead with her palm. "Use Ember or something!"
It was quite too late for that. The Hidden Power attack hit its mark and sent Charmy sprawling across the floor, landing face-first on the tile of the Pokemon Center. He groaned, but got back up and shook himself.
Indignant, Charmy whipped around used another Ember attack on the Hoothoot in front of him, not bothering to stand still for a moment and take aim. His spinning motion created a wide arc of little embers instead of just a steady beam.

Lady Hearts again got hit by the Ember attack, and this time, it singed her. She grimaced as the Burn inflicted itself upon her, and the attack made her feel weak and unsteady. Then she tottered up with a determined smirk. This Charmander would not win today! She was going to do the best she could for her clowny friend!
The Hoothoot charged forwards with a Peck attack, aiming for the Charmander's little tail. Now if only the Pokemon wouldn't notice her, she would be able to get away without more damage done to her than the Burn was doing right now...

"Charmy! Dodge it and use Scratch!" Alivia called. Even if her Pokemon hadn't noticed the on-coming Peck attack, she wasn't about to let the owl-like Pokemon hurt her dear Charmander!
The little fire lizard narrowed his eyes and waited for the Hoothoot to get close enough. . . . When she was within in the range he wanted, Charmy stepped to the side, swinging his tail out of the way, then lashed out with a little hand, claws glinting in the artificial lighting of the Pokemon center. He wanted to slash Lady Hearts as she whipped past him.

“Watch out!” Marcus called out only moments after Lady Spades was slashed by the Charmander’s sharp claws. Rough claw marks were covering her face as she squawked in protest, hopping rapidly away so Charmy couldn’t take advantage of her weak position. Her trainer could sense the amount of distress that she was going through, and pounced on the opportunity to bring her to her senses.
“Relax missus, and use your Growl to protect yourself.” Marcus’s voice was calming and relaxing, bringing the sense that everything was going to be alright. Plus, she could still have fun while she was fighting it out against this slimy reptilian. She stopped in her spot, and sent out the loudest Growl she could muster; hopefully this would catch Charmy off guard so she could really get back on the offense. “Now Tackle him.” Marcus offered with chuckling heartily to himself, amused and ecstatic that he could show off his battling skills in front of such a lively crowd of children. Lady Spades cooed once, before zooming off with a mix of hops and her stubby wings to give her a sense of gliding across the smooth floor. She was ready to ram right into the Charmander, unless they did something to stop her.

Charmy was about to launch into another Ember attack when the Hoothoot gave a shrill Growl. He looked at her weird, wondering if the cute sound was meant to scare him or something. How could a Pokemon that only sounded cute when it was trying to sound scary be so dangerous?
Well, that was how Growl was supposed to work, wasn't it? Now Charmy's attack was lowered because he didn't think he needed to go all out on this Lady Hearts Pokemon.
"Hey, Charmy! Think you should dodge this one this time?" Alivia called to him, one hand on her hip. If her Charmander ran away from the owl-like Pokemon this time, she was going to have to have a nice, long talk with him.
Unlike the Hoothoot's first attack, Charmy was ready for this one. He wasn't about to turn tail and run away like he had when the Hidden Power attack had frightened him. He waited for the Hoothoot to get closer, then took a big step to the side in order to move out of the way.
However, he had not timed his dodge right. Lady Hearts slammed into his left side as he moved to dodge and sent him spinning. He landed hard on the ground, feeling silly, but still in the fight.
"C'mon! Get up and use Ember!" Alivia cried, taking a step forward.
Charmy shook his head and struggled to his feet, then swung his tail out in front of him and blew out another Ember attack at the Hoothoot, trying to catch her on the rebound.

The Hoothoot had been trying to get back to where she was before she had used the Tackle, and did not expect the Ember to hit her. Of course, if she knew, she would've dodged the attack easily, but she didn't. So she fell as the attack hit her again, this time taking more of her HP. Then the Burn was activated, and then she lost even more health points as the Burn sapped her energy up. She grimaced, with only a few HP points left. This didn't feel good.
"Lady Hearts! Use Growl!" Marcus said, more calm sounding than he felt. Now if this hit, it would help Lady Hearts stay on for a bit longer than normal. Lady Hearts growled cutely at the Charmander, hoping to keep herself out of trouble and keep herself safer. "Now, Lady Hearts! Use Peck!" Marcus commanded again, this time his voice a bit forced. Soon enough, he leaned back, a bit stressed out.
Lady Hearts preened herself carefully, then flew towards Charmy with her Peck attack. This time she was aiming for the belly. If that hit, it would sure hurt. She didn't like how much it would hurt, because a belly hole sure didn't sound good to her!

Charmy gave the Hoothoot a weird look as she Growled, but then he giggled to himself and hopped back and forth on his feet. Such a cute sound from that Pokemon! How could it be dangerous?
He found out the answer to that question soon enough. Lady Hearts slammed right into his stomach, sending him sprawling backwards. The Charmander landed hard on his back, feeling even more silly than he had before, and hurt a lot more.
"Charmy! Charmy are you alright?" Alivia cried, rocking back and forth uneasily from foot to foot. How could such a little owl be such a pain in her neck.
Charmy struggled to his feet, panting, one eye closed against the throbbing in his belly. He took a staggering step forward and growled at the Hoothoot. He only had a little bit of fight left in him, but by gum he was going to go down fighting!
"That's my boy! Use Ember once more!" Alivia said, her voice sounding a little unsure of herself. Should she stop the fight? Her Pokemon wasn't looking too good. . .
Alivia's Charmander turned his head toward Lady Hearts, narrowed his eyes, then swung his tail out in front of him and blew hot embers in her direction. If he missed. . . . Well he didn't want to have to think about that.

The HootHoot may have been weak, and feeling unsure of herself, but she wasn't a Pokémon that would give up when things got tough! Lady Hearts took a deep calming breath as the two Pokémon faced off, she flapped her large wings silently, her piercing red eyes focused on the Charmander. Every single movement was carefully analyzed, and the tension rose as she did nothing. This would be the end of the battle, one way or another. There! As the Charmander swung his tail around, the Hoothoot took that as a cue and hastily dive bombed the floor, dodging the swift oncoming flames. Then, with extreme grace she pulled out of the nose dive and gazed the floor of the Pokecenter with the feathered tip of her wing. A pure look of triumph was on Lady Heart's face and she opened her beak to let out an very impolite comment, but was stopped short. Although she has successfully evaded the attack, she did have a status condition and as the burn seeped away the last of her energy, she let out a mournful cry as she collapsed to the ground in a heap. Lady Hearts has fainted! You have won the battle! Charmander gains a level!Marcus looked down at his fallen comrade, a swift expression of sadness passed across his heavily made up face. Within seconds though, he had his normal expression plastered onto his cherry face. <Well there kiddos! That's how you fight a battle, mighty good challenger she is!> he exclaimed, not one to be a poor sport. <Anyone want to battle me now?> he asked, the crowd of kids. The group was much more at ease now, and after the exciting battle all clamored to be fought, and the clown laughed with glee. "Good battle kid." he said to Alivia, before tossing a small item towards the trainer. "Here, take that. You deserve it for getting me all this business." You have received a Lava Cookie

Charmy opened his mouth to make a cry of despair as his Ember attack missed. He saw the Hoothoot coming fast and in his tired state he had no chance of moving out of the way. He clenched his eyes shut and waited for the ending move.
But it never came.
Alivia's Charmander opened one eye to see what happened, then opened the other when he saw Lady Hearts lying in a heap just inches away from him. He fell over in relief, panting. That was some extreme luck he had had! Oh my. . .
Squealing happily, Alivia skipped over and scooped her little Pokemon into her arms and hugged him close. "Oh you did so well!" she whispered to him. "I'll get you to Nurse Joy right away!"
She turned to Marcus and nodded. "And you! You're Hoothoot is quite something!" she said. "It was an honor to do combat with you."
Giggling, she caught the item with a free hand and looked it over. It looked like a cookie, and Charmy sniffed it with interest. "Thank you, sir. And thank you for the fight!" she said, walking over to the counter. At least the Clown had gotten something over it.
Alivia smiled sheepishly at the Pokemon Nurse. "Hey. . . Back again. . . Could heal my Chamander one more time?" she asked, returning Charmy to his Pokeball and setting it on the counter. "He had a hard battle. . . ."

Nurse Joy had finally been patient enough for the battle to end. She knew there would be Pokemon to heal after the intense battle, and had set her station up to be ready. "Okay, I'll be right back." she said, and set the Pokeball on one of her healing machines. Then she smiled as the machine made a beeping sound. "Good battle there, honey. Good luck!" Nurse Joy smiled as she handed over the Pokeball containing the small Charmander. This had gone well. [[Sorry. There's really nothing to say because of the battle. I didn't want another trainer to come, and I couldn't exactly say, 'As soon as Alivia walked out of the Pokemon center... a 'Pokemon' came over and...' XD]]

[OOC: Lol it's all good.]
Alivia waited patiently, watching the Clown do some battle with one of the kids, then turned and smiled when the Nurse brought her Pokemon back all healed.
"Thank you!" she said happily, walking back to the table she had been sitting at. She picked up her stuff and started to head back outside, since the rain seemed to be a little less unmanagable. She wanted to get a good look around while he had chance.
She stepped outside and sighed. It was only drizzling, but the rain still didn't feel good on her skin. Alivia didn't want to be stuck inside until it was time for her to get some rest, and her Pokemon need to be trained some more if they wanted to be ready for the gym battle. She was already thinking about heading back to the first route to do some more training in the morning. . .

Outside, there was not really much people. Really, who would want to be out where it was drizzling? No one liked the water that much, except for the water Pokemon. Which obviously wouldn't be in a bigger town like this. With that said, we shall continue.
In a small corner lane, there were two shouts. <Magi.> <Mach.> One sounded very strained, as if asking for help. The other was a shout of joyousness, and fun in a game. Quite weird, but it would work for now. One of the Pokemon was having fun, and it was really easy to find out which one was. The Pokemon that was more powerful and had more strength. Obviously, you should see that. And that Pokemon was the Machop that was bullying the Magikarp.
If you looked around the corner, you would see that the Magikarp lay on the floor of the drizzling area, and was quite smushed and flat. On the top of the Pokemon would be another Pokemon, a Machop. He looked like he was practicing battling or something. The poor little Magikarp lay on the floor, helpless to do anything except Splash. It would be nice of you to give it a hand... and maybe help it a bit? [[Good. XD]]
