Aurora watched her Shinx get covered in a simple water gun. Not that her electric Pokemon wouldn't be hurt a little by the attack but, a water gun seemed so pointless at this point. "Leer, then Ice fang again." She called and Shinx, as loyal as he had always been, obeyed and shot the bright lights of leer towards him then, ran to bite the water Pokemon once again with Ice fang.

The Wooper shivered as the Leer attack seemed to look right through him. His attack lowered right there, as he thought that if he attacked the Shinx it would just enrage such a scary Pokemon and he would endure great pain.
"Woop!" the little Pokemon cried as the Shinx came jumping at him for another Ice Fang. He turned tail to run, then slipped in the mud again. He fell face-first into it and skidded forward, at least this time managing to dodge the attack. What a stroke of luck!
He flipped over onto his back and then blasted another Water Gun at the Shinx. He didn't really take the time to aim, though: Wooper just wanted to get the mean Pokemon away from him!

Aurora watched carefully and learned from the battle more and more, noting each move, each attack and dodge carefully in her head. A light breeze came through the air and was gentle and calming, which helped Aurora keep her emotionless expression singled out as she just stood there, commanding her Pokemon as a battle went on.
"Dodge, then tackle." Aurora called, watching Shinx turn and dodge the water gun attack that just shot up into the air from the Wooper's position on his back and then ran at the water- Pokemon, ready to hit with a tackle attack.

The Wooper wriggled in a wild attempt to get up out of the mud, but he couldn't do so. Instead, he started to slap his flat tail against the mud to use it as a sort of oar to get him moving. It actually started to work! Wooper started to move backwards through the mud, away from the Shinx, but it wasn't getting out of the way fast enough. He couldn't even most that much, let along slide farther. At least it was more than the wriggling. . . But still, the Shinx crashed into the Wooper with the Tackle attack, sending the little Pokemon flying. It landed hard on its back on solid ground. . . Wait? No mud? Oh halleluah! However, it was a bit late for the poor Wooper. He didn't even realize he was no longer in the mud. It was unconscious, as the little Shinx was pretty strong and with all that bad luck, it hadn't been a very good day for Wooper. [Wooper Can be Caught] [Shinx Gained One Level]

Aurora looked past the Wooper, not caring to catch it and nodded towards her Shinx in approval. Shinx had did a fine job and deserved a break so, Aurora pulled out a Poke ball and returned her Pokemon. Walking past the fainted Wooper, Aurora looked on for more wild Pokemon to face.

::volbeat::
Further down the path, a distressed looking bug-type flitted around, it's small wings vibrating speedily, making a dull buzzing sound. The sun was starting to set now, casting a vibrant orangey glow across the whole of route one. But as the sky darkened, the Volbeat began to seem even more worried, the buzzing rising to a high whine as he flew faster around the foliage. investigate?

[size=1Aurora looked on, admiring the setting sun that illuminated Route one. She had always adored the night, the way it felt, the way everything was either violent or peaceful, Aurora adored it all.
The Volbeat circled, and it brought Aurora's curiosity to investigate. She slowly walked forward and tilted her head to the side, watching the distressed Pokemon. "Anything.. wrong?" She murmured, not wanting her soft side to show much but, was still curious for the matter. To bring out a better connection in speech, Aurora let our her Shinx from his ball and he stepped forward, asking the same question to the disturbed Volbeat. [Anything wrong?] [/size][/center]

The Volbeat looked to the trainer and Shinx that had addressed him, still looking extremely harried. He looked around a few more times before buzzing over the girl and Pokemon, breathing hard from the hard work he'd been doing to look.
{I can not find Illumise! She's gone! We were supposed to meet up here a few hours ago but she never came here and I'm afraid she may have been caught!} he explained in rush, glancing around nervously. {I'm so worried about her.}

Aurora, being human and all, could not understand a single word of the Volbeat thus, leaving it up to Shinx to calm down this situation. Shinx stepped forward, sympathy on his face as he sat down calmly before the Pokemon.
[I'm sure you will find her, you just have to stay calm and have faith. It will be okay.] Shinx half smiled and licked his paw calmly.

'Stay calm? STAY CALM!? How can I stay calm when my poor Illumise is gone! Did somebody take her? They've killed my darling Illumise!' The Volbeat was beggining to get hysterical now, and its rear end was lighting up uncontrollably. With a small scream of frustration, the Volbeat loosed a blinding flash of light. A flash attack, though not directed at the trainer or her Pokémon.

Aurora shielded her eyes, blocking herself from the flash attack as well as Shinx did, covering his muzzle, sighing. [Just calm down, I'm sure she's...] This Volbeat was ridiculous, and soon, Shinx felt like he would have to bring it down carefully. Looking back at his trainer, Shinx waited on an attack.
Aurora shook her head, she had no attention in capturing this Pokemon but, it using an attack was called for battle sadly. "Shinx, Ice fang now!" Aurora called, watching her Shinx run at the Volbeat quickly to use his Ice Fang attack.

The Volbeat was in such histerics that it did not realize the Shinx was retaliating to the attack he had loosed without really meaning to. He cried out as the Electric Pokemon bit into him with his freezing fangs and Volbeat stumbled away from him.
He looked up, looking hurt and dejected. {You. . . You attacked me. . . ,} he pointed out, sounding bewildered. He was shivering from the cold and his surprise gave way to rage at being unjustly attacked.
{First someone murders my dearest Illumise and now you've attacked me! The forest cries for the injustice!} he declared dramatically, spreading his arms from his body. Suddenly, the Shinx was surrounded by an army of Volbeat. It was a Double Team attack, and they all suddenly attacked with a Tackle.

Aurora watched carefully, noting the weird behavior of the Volbeat. "Dodge, then tackle!" Aurora called.
Shinx rolled away from the middle center of the circle of Volbeat, quickly spinning to run and use a tackle attack.

The attack had faded as quickly as it had begun, and the Pokemon looked even more lost than it had before. <You...> he turned around sadly, not caring much for the Tackle attack. Even though it had flinged him into a tree. He still sat on the branch, looking rather dejected and very sad. His poor Illumise was gone... his poor Illumise, gone forever.
Suddenly, he turned into a fit of rage and let loose yet another one of his Flash attacks, seeming to turn the world a sharp bright color. He hadn't let go of hope that he would, one day see his beloved Illumise again. He must not let go of that thin shred of hope. He must not let go of his beloved friend and hopeful. Turning back to the Shinx, he charged at them with a full-body Tackle. He wasn't ever going to forget about his beloved Illumise, and would not stand for someone who did not help him. [/center]

Aurora watched, shielding her eyes a bit from the flash as her Shinx did but, kept an eye on both the Shinx and the Volbeat. "Take the tackle.. then leer and ice fang." She commanded.
Shinx stood there, ready for the tackle attack as it hit and made him skid a few feet. Then, quickly shaking off the attack, Shinx ran at the Volbeat with bright yellow eyes of his own and an ice fang attack.

The distressed Volbeat, while filled with rage, it was much like a sugar-high and all the energy had to evaporate soon. He was still going strong, images of his beloved Illumise urging him on. <For you my darling Illumise!> he yelled, staring into the Leer, refusing to advert his blood-curdling gaze from the Shinx's firey red piercing eyes.
The Volbeat still holding onto his pent-up frustration and worry, let out a shreik as he was hit merciessly by the ice-cold fangs sinking into his shoulder. The freezing numbness began to creep up his arm, as the razor sharp fangs sank deeper, but the bug type pulled away quickly. Not allowing a status condition to be inflicted. That would mean giving up on his beloved.
His mind filled with the soft, gentle Illumise he had grown to love, he turned to the battle in a blind rage. He hastly Doubled-Teamed himself, making mutiple copies of himself. He wanted to inflict pain and this he would do by a charged up Tackle by himself and his copied.

Aurora shook her head, she had seen this move first off and then the Pokemon attempted to use it again? "Dodge, then tackle." She commanded slowly.
Shinx rolled away from the middle of the double team copies and away from the tackle in order to use his own tackle attack on the Volbeat Pokemon.

The Volbeat left up the double team but in attempt to confuse the Shinx the real Volbeat and his copies began swirling around in mad circles. The tackle missed, hitting a clone dead on in the chest. <I will not lose while my Illumise is still out there!> It shriek as the clones formed a circle again and charged their only opponent in the world at the moment with a blinding flash. How can you dodge a flash from all directions?

Aurora shielded her eyes and so did Shinx from the blinding Flash. This Pokemon was very annoying and started to make Aurora a little angry. After all, this battle had lasted for some time and all she was trying to do was help. Keeping an emotionless expression on her face, Aurora yelled out, "Shinx, use Charge, jump and then use tackle!"
Shinx nodded, using a charge to build up the electrical energy he needed and then, when the chance was available, Shinx jumped into the air and tried to tackle the Volbeat quickly.

The Shinx must have been seeing spots after those Flash attacks, for the Tackle he was attempted to use on Volbeat was way off course. Ah, just what Flash was good for!
With a wild cry, Volbeat launched himself at the Shinx, throwing his entire body weight at the Pokemon for a Tackle attack. There was no way he was going to let this hooligan beat him up! He needed to find his dearest Illumise!
{For Illumise!} he cried sadly, the lament echoing through the forest.
