Skye shrugged. "Ok, but if you ever want to come with me, I'd be happy to have you." She smiled at the bug pokemon and put her hands in her pockets and sighed. "Ok, well I have to be off, it was really nice talking to you." She blinked and turned around and walked away.

Silent yet smelly fumes began to reach Skye's nose, at first it was barely noticable, but grew increasingly visible as tan smoke clouds. Im the middle of the room was a floating figure, eager to practice any attack it had against an invisible foe. Nothing was there, except for the clean unsmelling air that was slowly dissolving away. Unaware that anyone was nearby, the Koffing began experimenting with different scents and looks. Combining its previous Smog attack with a much darker Smokescreen into the middle. Making a strange scene of purple and black smoke mixing into eachother. Floating around with no purpose but for fun, the Koffing began to hide in the middle of its masterpiece. Smiling with a gay smile as it twirled around, knowing that it was well-hidden and safe.

Skye walked alog untill she saw the mass of black and purple smoke. She started to cough, the smoke mixture was thick and made it difficult to breath. She pulled her shirt over her mouth and nose and walked over ot where the mass was. "Hello?" She called. "Um, I don't mean to be rude but, you are making it very difficult for some to breath around here." She hoped she didn't shound mean, but it as true.

<Koffing?> The pokemon jerked looking over into the direction of Skye as if they girl had startled him. <Oh, I'm sorry!> The Koffing shouted inhaling the rest of the smoke mixture back into his mouth and tiny open holes. <I didn't see anyone there, I hope you'll forgive me,> The Koffing spoken, floating over to Skye, now getting a much better view of her.

Skye coughed once more then smiled. "It's fine, it was just a little hard to breath." She removed her shirt from her mouth and coughed once more. "Hi, I'm Skye." She nodded at the Koffing. "What were you doing?" She asked it.

The Koffing turned its head around to get a better look at Skye, she did look alright. If not a little pale from lack of fresh air, but it was hard for a Pokemon to tell when it was unfamiliar with people in general.
<I'm a Koffing, so just call me that.> It introduced to the girl before it, bowing its head by levitating down and then up again.
<I saw a couple of trainers doing it a while back. For something called a Pokemon Contest, and I thought I'd try it with my own attacks. Its fun, but hard to make it look as cool as they did.> It explained, looking a bit sad about it but chose not to let it get it down. Literally, for the sadder it looked the lower it went to the ground. Before catching itself and returning to eye height.

Skye frowned. "Oh, I thought it looked cool, enough to make any pokemon pass out. Strong or weak." She nodded. "I thought I looked very cool." Skye thought for a second. "Pokemon Contest?" She asked. Skye sshrugged. "I've never heard of one, what happens?"

The Koffing looked excited as it got the chance to explain everything it knew about the Contest process. Bobbing up and down with a much perkier mood than before as it explained its new passion in life. Even if it didn't know the full details about it, it was amazing from first glance.
<Its like battling, but its also an art. You make two attacks mix to look really amazing, and hurt your opponent. When I was watching I heard the trainers talking at the same time, they were really good. Its what I want to be someday...> The Koffing sighed dreamily, just thinking about how amazing its own attacks would look on a big stage full of people and Pokemon watching.

Skye's eyes widened. "Wow!" She smiled. "That would be so cool!" She followed the Koffing's dreamy look and thought about it. "That would be really cool." She frowned. What pokemon could she use? "That would be fun to do." Skye sighed. "But I don't have any pokemon to do that with." She muttered. Skye paced for a seocnd. "Houndor?" She shrugged. "Maybe." She frowned even more. "pidgey?" She shook her head. "No," Skye looked up at the Koffing. "What were the attacks you were doing?" She asked. Skye covered her mouth. "Do them again."

Snapping out of its previous state, it chuckled when it realized it had created another fan out of the idea. Or, the idea making itself a fan, and the chain would only go on from here. Looking back to its last 'performance', it recalled that it was experimenting to see if a Smog would look better, or a Poison Gas. Smog looking fluffier of the two, from what it found out.
<Smokescreen was the black one...And Smog was purple.> After thinking it over, it hovered into the middle of the room to begin its preformance from the beginning. Starting with a hearty 'Koffing!' it let out a hint of Poison Gas into the air, leting out various puff's of smoke. Then it lowered itself to the ground to let out one of its bigger attacks, Smokescreen. The black mist began to fill the ground. As it span its body around, the smoke bended with its body, moving upwards as it added yet another attack to the mix. Smog was the finishing touch as it created a spiraling tower of smoke, purple and black as it 'layed' on the top.
Panting, it replied.
<I've been practicing this one longer...That last one was just a test...This is my favorite so far...> The Koffing fel exhausted from using so many attacks at once, but it felt awesome to show off like that.

When the Koffing was finished Skye clapped. "Oh!!! That was amazing!!!" She nodded. "It was wonderful! I was awstruck!!" She laughed. "You would win, that's an ultimate winner!!" She smiled. "You should enter!" Still clapping, Skye chuckled. She put her hands in her pockets. "That was really, very good." She complemented. Her face lit up. "You would win." She repeated again.

The smoke began to materialize around the room, only a faint haze of color remained in the room as the Koffing grinned at Skye. Feeling very proud of itself for pulling it off in front of an audience for the first time.
<It gets harder though, there must be two parts. One for showing off, and one for battling. They'd still be graceful and do cool tricks, but fight until one was knocked out. So thats why I'm out here, toughening up so I can get ready to enter one of my own. I don't know the details on /how/ yet...But it'll be great.> The Koffing replied, blushing a bit from all of the compliments it received from Skye.

Skye nodded. "Yes, Toughen up." She frowned. "I could help you there!!" She smiled. "I could train you then you could enter and you'd win!" She smiled. "If you want to, you could battle and learn new tricks and be amazing!" Skye clapped her hands together. "I could find out everything and then you can compete and win!"

The Koffing looked a bit surprised at the offer, but already knew what its answer would be without a thought. It was just too excited to do much of anything except nod to everything Skye said. Giving a hearty laugh, it snuggled right up next to the girl. Still a little tired after using so many attacks at once, but eager to learn and train.
<I'd love to! It would be so much fun to actually try it out, and show the world what I can do.> It grew more excited by the moment, eagerly awaiting a Pokeball to show up. Only if things were that simple in life. They never were, for right then another Koffing came floating into the room and glanced at the first one, and at Skye. Its eyes narrowed as the first one saw its mother enter the room. Blast it! Talk about a true moment ruiner, the Koffing floated right up to the two friends.
<What is going on here?> She looked rather angry at the sight of her child with a human, for every Pokemon knew what that meant. It must be a trainer that came to take one of their own.
The younger one started stammering, floating behind Skye a bit at the sight of its upset parent. Though it wasn't afraid of her, just afraid of a ruined oppertunity from an over-protective mother.
<I-uh..Well, you see... I wanted to come along with my new friend. She's really nice, and I'm sure you'd like her->
<Absolutly not. > The mother spoke, a cold and uncaring tone in her voice as she floated closer. A hint of smoke began fueling out of the holes to look much more threatening than she was.
<You cannot go with this human, I refuse to agree to this. You will get hurt, lost, and face so many dangers I can't begin to explain. No, your staying here at home. >She concluded, moving towards her child in order to bring it by force it she had to.
<B-but...> It stammered, not happy at all with the mother's desicion. How it wanted to agrue against her, but just couldn't find the words.

Skye smiled at the koffing. "Oh it would be so fun!" She couldn't wait. Skye dug in her backpack for a pokeball but stopped as she saw the other Koffing. "Oh, Hello," She smiled. "I'm Skye, I'm your childs friend." She bowed to the mother, then seeing the look on her face, stopped smiling. "Oh, please let them come." Skye begged. "I'll protect your child, I wont let any harm come to them." She pleaded with the Koffing. "Your child is truly amazing, you should see what they can do." Skye switched tactics. "You must have beeen a really good teacher, I've never seen anything more amazing." Skye pulled out a pokeball. "See this would protect your child." She opened the ball and a Buneary jumped out. "Really safe. "Dio, it's safe in there right?" She asked the Buneary, who nodded. "And see, she dropped the pokeball and picked it back up, it wasn't scratched or anything. "Safe, your child wouldn't get hurt." She promised.

The female Koffing snorted as she half-listened to Skye explain the purpose of the Poke ball. Though not really caring, because she knew that that was only part of the story when it came to training with a Pokémon Trainer.
Turning to look away from the Buneary and Skye and onto her kid, she floated closer with slanted eyes. Eager to lead her child away from these 'bad influences'. <I know what you trainers do, you fight with others. No child of mine will live like reckless brutes.> She scoffed, silently moving the other Koffing away from Skye as she did so. The other one was actually interested in going into the Poke ball, and was fascinated by the device.
<Mother, its okay. I want to go with them. I promise that I'm not going to turn into a brute, honest. I'll always be myself. I do have your blood in me, after all. > It protested, trying to do the same thing that Skye did. Flattery was one way to earn its mother's approval, because she would always suck it up as much as she could.
<That is true. Fine, prove your worth by battling me. If you can beat me, then I will allow my child to go with you. I will show you what its really like to battle, and how it constantly is. Its not a life you would want.> She added as an after thought, turning towards Skye to make sure she was listening.
The younger Koffing simply couldn't believe its mom was going to try this. Of course it knew about battling, it saw Pokémon do it all of the time. Even participating in a couple while its mother wasn't nearby, secretly getting stronger. Though honestly, it had no idea who to root for if the challenge was accepted. Skye, it supposed. Because it wanted to travel with her and have all sorts of fun, but it couldn't easily disobey its mother.
((The plot thickens. =o))

((lol))
Skye frowned. She didn't want to battle with the Koffing, but she could see it wouldn't be pursuaded other wise. "Fine, I don't want to, but I will." She shook her head and called Dio back, then dug around for another pokeball. Skye dropped another pokeball, a Zubat jumped out and hissed as it saw the Koffings. "Kay Ere, this is it." She sighed. "Ere, SuperSonic." Skye muttered. She put her hands in her pockets, she really didn't want to fight, but she really like the Koffing.

The mother Koffing's eyes flickered when the Supersonic waves began traveling her way, she had experience with this type of attack in her own battling days and knew just what to try out. Exhaling various gases that were contained within her, she let out a thick Smokescreen that sent those confuse inducing waves in various directions.
Sure, she could hear the attack to her distaste. It wasn't strong enough to confuse her now, which was the best part. She doubted that the Zubat's accuracy would get lowered if it didn't have eyes, so she tried something else. If the Zubat couldn't see, then that meant its other senses were a bit stronger than usual.
So maybe she could try out its sense of smell. Inhaling some of the black cloud around her, she expelled another wave of fumes. This time it was poisonous and painful, in a Smog attack.

Skye covered her mouth when the attack happened. She didn’t say anything, she knew Ere could dodge lots of stuff. Ere in fact, could hear the attack then he could smell it. Quickly he took a deep breath and dived away from the Smog. “Ere, try Leech Life.” Skye coughed. Ere shot out a location wave ad found where the Koffing was. He shot towards her and sent out his Leech Life. Skye smiled. “I train them hard, they wont get very hurt.

The Leech Life had hit the Koffing, and she winced as she felt the Zubat's sharp fangs pierce into her body. Drawing just a little blood as her health was sapped away, at least it wasn't too effective. Thinking of some kind of attack that could shake off the bat.
It was difficult because she wasn't a Pokémon that liked to be on the receiving end of an attack, so she looked around for some type of opening. No, but she could try something else. Floating horizontally so Ere's back would be facing the ground, she used a Tackle downward. It would be the only way for her to strike at the bat, due to a lack of arms to pull the attacker off. Of course she could always let off some more smoke, but she wasn't much of a thinker when in pain.
