Looking around the strange Pokemon Stadium stood Karen Sway, feeling prepared for her first Gym Battle. Though her team's levels were slightly uneven she felt like she could have a nice chance in getting a badge.
The Stadium had a exotic feel to it, new in a way. The floors were neatly polished, and already small groups of people came inside to watch, shame they could't of came to do something else. She didn't want to embaress herself on her first gym battle after all.
Up ahead, she noticed the figure of a man. The one people called Haru, what a creepy guy. Not that it was going to ruin her spirits though, as she slowly took out a pokeball.
"Your the Gym Leader? I guess its time to battle. One question, is it Double Battle...Or one on one?" Well, hopefully its a double battle. Those end faster.

The young man frowned, hard eyes examining the trainer across the room. He felt no need to introduce himself; any runt who entered the gym should know his name.
"This will be a double battle," he called across the gymnasium, deep voice echoing off the walls. This was all that was said, and Haru promptly tossed forward two shining pokeballs.
The balls spun through the air animatedly, finally popping open with loud noises, flashing lights pouring out.
A minun and plusle appeared, happy and ready for battle.

In the least to say, this guy sounded the part for a Gym Leader. With a confident nod as the man threw out two pokeballs, she was slightly taken back at what she saw. It was more of the size, two small mouse pokemon. They looked, cute. Certainly not powerful though, but who knew?
Reaching over her shoulder into a backpack pocket, she fingered her way to one of the pokeballs, counting the order they were in to make sure that she would grab the right one. She had a good idea on who she wanted to use to start out the battle. With a quick fling of her wrist, the first pokeball was thrown out, revealing Rocky's large yet unexperienced body of rock. This would be a good choice, considering the type match ups. The next pokeball she threw out, the one from her backpack, was thrown out just as quickly. His figure quickly comming into view as the white light faded away to show Bonito, the shadow tyrogue.
"I take it I go first? It doesn't matter, I'm making my move anyways." She said with a grin as she pointed at Rocky, a habit of hers.
"Lets start this battle with Mud sport Onix! Bonito, you go ahead and tackle Minun!"
There was the battle plan, from what she knew of these two pokemon was that they were both Electric types and known for being well trained in double battles. Plusle and Minun, they were one of the most common sights in pokemon stores out there, after all.

Minum took a little bit of damage from this, and hung back, using Helping Hand to assist Plusle. The small mouse then used a strengthened Spark attack on Bonito.
------------------------
Rocky obeyed again, using Mud Sport. She still wasn't sure why her trainer didn't ask her to attack, but she would listen anyway.

(( You must learn to put your trust in the trainer young sage. -bows to Onix before poofing off to finish posting-))
Karen looked in puzzlment as the small Minun took its time in the back to make only a couple small cheers, and harmless sparks that sprung into the air. Whatever it did though, that Plusle sure came in faster than expected with that sudden spark!
"Bonito, try to dodge it!" She called, as she watched Bonito make a small jump to the side that made it seem like the attack had missed, but a sudden wince in his eyes told otherwise. The side of the plusle had made a nice score on his underbelly, and as he slid to the ground with small angry eyes at the small mouse.
"Bonito, surprise Plusle with Rock Slide! Onix, you get to work on that Minun! Tackle it away!" This seemed normal, but something seemed strange about Rocky, like she was uncertain about the last attack. Or was she just anxious to get in with the offensive attacks? Karen could only sigh quietly to herself as she watched the two mouse Pokemon carefully to see if they would sucessfully dodge the attacks.

The boy knew he couldn't help his plusle with rock slide, so he focused on his minun. "Plusle, use a helping hand on Minun, quick! Minun, dodge that tackle and then spark the onix!"
The pokemon complied, the plusle just able to get in his attack before he was completely bashed and thrown around with rock slide. The poor thing fainted on the spot.
Minun dodged the tackle, just in time to witness its partner faint. With a cry, it unleashed its agony on the onix with spark.

Karen grimanced as she watched the Pluse use a simple Helping hand, only realising a bunch of harmless sparks that Bonito only smirked at. He didn't realize what the attacks potential was, but once he saw that the rock slide he kicked up worked, he slid over to a sudden halt. Watching to see if his ally Rocky would be able to take out the Minun.
Of course, as Karen was familiar with after her trip to the Power Plant, was that Electric attacks didn't seem to harm Onix in the least. Actually, on her way to the gym she had checked her Pokedex to find out that Onix was also a ground type, and sure enough when the Minun slammed into Onix with a powerful amount of sparks on it it quickly diminished into thin air. Now it was time for oppertunity.
"Onix, you handle the rest! Use bind on Minun while its still close to you! Bonito, you hang tight for now."
With a reluctant nod from Bonito, he kept a safe distance from the giant Onix and the small Minun, until he was needed of course. If Minun happened to avoid the attack, then he could move in with a tackle. With this small plan in his head, not even Karen would convince him otherwise.

Squeaking loudly, Minun felt himself being bound by Onix's immense coils. Struggling, he could not free himself and used Spark to try and get the massive rock snake to let him go. To his dismay, the attack did nothing at all. Tugging and pulling, Minun was in a desperate situation.
"Hang on!" Haru yelled, gritting his teeth. Pfft, using ground types was the cheater's way out. At least that's what his ego told him. Rifling though his pockets, he pulled out Pichu's Pokéball and released him. "Time to even the score!"

'Well, I suppose the Minun will be kept busy for awhile when Onix is holding onto it. Its strange though, his Minun just seems to be more experienced than Onix, you'd think he'd have a advantage at that or something.'
Karens thought's drifted wayward as she looked onto the small figure of a even smaller mouse-like pokemon. No doubt it was an electric type, and looked vaugly familiar to a Pikachu, flipping out her pokedex for a swift 5 seconds before putting it away, she showed no concern on her face.
"Well, lets hurry this up then. Bonito, tackle at the Pichu, Onix you keep up with your bind!" Glancing over at Bonito, he began at a nice running start across the hard metal floor, he was like a bull with no horns, but having anger for no apparent reason he came at the Pichu, willing to ram his body into the electric Pichu.

Pichu wasn't about to be fooled. Zipping out of the way, it dodged the foe's move completely. Charging electricity in his cheeks, he launched a sudden attack on Bonito using a high-powered Volt Tackle. The gym leader wasn't out yet!
"Hold on Minun!" Haru shouted.
Struggling still and gasping for air, Minun wriggled the best it could to pop out of Onix's coils. He bit, he punched, he squirmed and did anything else possible to get free of this snake's grasp.

Barely letting a small gasp escape from his mouth, the very sound of electricity cackling in the air was the first thing he noticed after the nimble Pichu jumped just in time out of his way. The shock was about to kick in as just when he made his way to a stop, that Pichu was running at him like mad!
<Oh crud.> He grunted as he looked around for some way to get out, but for some reason didn't know what to do in just enough time, a dodge would be hard, that was for sure.
Just when Karen realised what was going on, she looked over at Onix and Minun quickly before glancing at Bonito's problem right next to them. "Onix, release Minun and protect Bonito with your tail, be swift!"
Karen could only bite her lip as she watched her Onix sink in the sudden command, and wondered if the rock type pokemon would be able to succesfully protect Bonito in time for the volt tackle comming to him.
((Erm, hopefully Cazz will save the day. =3 -coughpostiepleasecough-))

The onix had suceeded, protecting the tyrogue from the volt tackle as the Pichu rammed right against the rock hardness. It let a cry, fall over.
"Arg!" The gym leader grunted and returned his picture then turned toward his now-freed minum.
"Mii!"
"Alright, use Spark on the tyrogue!" The minum got into position, setting out sparks out to the pokemon.

(( It was Cazz's character...Well.......Erm........Oh well? 0.o))
Karen let out a sigh of relief as Bonito was unharmed by the paticulary dangerous Volt Tackle. Even with the effects of Mud Sport around, that move may have proved fatal, though Karen wasn't going to risk testing this out at the moment. Bonito was in fact recovering from the shock of almost being knocked out, when he noticed another source of electricity burning parts of his body. Letting out a wince, he growled at the Minum. He didn't expect it to do it as much as it did, but he was an open target from that paticular direction, thankfully though he had the Mud Sport as a cover to ease the pain.
"Alright, Onix use Rock Tomb on Pichu! "
She grinned as she sent a look over to Onix expectantly, knowing that various rocks would jet out of the ground and hopefully trap the Pichu to prevent another Volt Tackle...For the moment at least.
"Bonito, you use Rock slide on Minun!"
Bonito now made a running start fromt he direction the spark had came from, before makng a big slide like a baseball heading for home base, and during his slide small rocks shot off from the ground and came hurling towards the small Minun,

Minun panted and dodged the Rock Slide attack frantically. The move had shocked him a little and he found himself jittery and off balance. Instinctively, he zipped forward for a Quick Attack.
Pichu, on the other hand, was in a jam...literally. Rocks flew up from the ground in every direction. Two in particular had caught him and squeezed against his small frame. He'd was crushed. Squirming, he let loose a Thundershock in frustration. He was totally open now.
"Damn it!" Haru yelled.

The quick attack was unavoidable for Bonito, as he willingly took the attack, wincing in pain as the attack made a nice attack on his guarded body. He blocked some of it with his arms as she shoved the Minun off and took this oppertunity to go in for a tackle.
Karen didn't mind his sudden tackle much, in fact she was about to order the move herself. It was slightly unerving though that Bonito didn't wait for her command, but decided to let it slide this time.
"Alright, Onix you help Bonito and tackle that Minun!" She ordered this with the knowledge that the Pichu would be helpless for quite awhile in those rocks, so at least the two of her pokemon would have a better chance on knocking out Minun.

The minun was hit, soon finding itself unconcious from the powerful string of attacks. Haru returned it, then soon turned to his failing Pichu.
"Lightning! Get back in there, you worm!" He scolded, but the pichu had no success of freeing itself.

Karen let out a relaxed sigh as she watched the Minun fall down to the ground in a fainted position. Now it was a two against one battles, and the odds were definatly in her favor, so might as well give this battle a nice ending to it. Though she had to admit, she was a little intiminated at first. Now it just seemed easy.
"Alright Bonito, you take out the Pichu with Rock Slide! Onix, you stay put."
Bonito made a running dash against the rocky prision that the Pichu was contained in and let out a mighty kick against the rocks surface, making it crumble and a series of rocks flinging in the air. Of course this freed the pichu, but it was the only way for Bonito to make an attack on it anyways.

Even though the Pichu was now free, the onslaught of attacks didn't help it one bit. The Pichu was almost out of HP and Haru knew it. "Hang on there! Don't you DARE faint now!" he yelled. "THUNDERSHOCK!" The gym leader was loosing his cool. He almost forgot that every thunder attack hurt his precious Pichu as well. Not one to dissobey his trainer, Lightning used the attack, even though it cut down the little bit of HP is had to an even smaller amount.

Even though Bonito wasn't attacked as much as Haru's pichu had been, it was taking a toll on his stamina as well. Fatigue shown on his face as he started panting, each breath of air seeming to need more than the last as he looked up to see the Pichu releasing a pretty strong thundershock, at him.
"Bonito, try to dodge!"
<Too tired....> He grumbled as he only stood there to take the attack head on, as he quickly fell to the ground. Fainted on the spot with swirls in his eyes.
"You did good Bonito." Karen sigh even though she had let out a dissopointed sigh that he had been knocked out so fast. Looking over to Rocky she smiled though, knowing that she could still win this. Even though Haru had used three pokemon, it would seem much better if she had kept using Onix to end this battle.
"Alright Onix, show that rodent what your made of and tackle it!"

Pichu, out of desperation, forced himself to dodge. There was no hope left. All he could do was make his final stand and give it his best shot. Rock/Ground types were lethal against electric types. He knew that. Haru knew that.
As Pichu threw himself to the ground, he panted heavily. Getting up was difficult and took him time. His breathing was severely laboured. It really was a matter of time. Picking himself up finally, he rushed for a final Quick Attack.
Haru stared in humiliation. Not again...
