<Maybe.> The Blue pokemon giggled, thinking Teddy was the cutest little thing in the world.
"What was what?" Kitty whispered, following behind Tom but looking over his shoulder to try to get a good look.

You see a Large Wurmple, and a Weedil cornered by a spearow. It appears the two worms had been trying to keep from being lunch.

(I should wait for Riley to make a post, but I'm too lazy to...) Kitty couldn't help but laugh to herself. No way she was going to help the pokemon. She woundered if Tom would.

(I'm going bowling tonight, so I won't be on after like, 6:30 through tomorrow...)
Whether Tom was planning on assisting the poor creatures or not was not important. What was important was the fact that Teddy had seen what was going on and was going to help no matter what. Tom didn't really mind it, though. A Spearow would make a nice addition to his team... if he could catch it, that is. And, saving the other two Pokemon... well, it was just a side dish.
Teddy jumped from Tom's lap and fired poison sting at the Spearow, hoping to poison it.

The spearow smirked at the two worms, certain that it would have a successful meal, and slowly opened its beak to cherish the moment...
"SPEEEEEEAR!"
The poisonous sting had entered right into the bird's chest, and it pulsed silently as it injected the lethal poison into its system. Getting a slight headache, the bird let out a weak caw and fell to the side in pain. Breathing long and slow breaths, it managed to get back up and use Peck on Teddy, a bit dizzy from the poison.

(Gah, I thought I replied to this. O.o)
Teddy squealed a spontanious squeal of scrumptious triumph, hopping smartly out of the injured Spearow's path. Aided by the ditsy state of the foe and his own cold determination to save his fellow bug pokemon, the tiny Wurmple nimbly avoided the sharp beak of the flying type. Coiling his stretchy body like a slinky, Teddy launched himself at the Spearow, hoping to knock the already dizzy Pokemon off balance.

the spearow was hit not to mention the poison coursing through its veins, but it vainly pecked the attacking pokemon in the attempt to win.

Teddy couldn't avoid the Spearow's slashing beak this time, and was hit - hard. Not to mention the attack being super effective, the wurmple was drained of at least a third of his hit points. Growling like only a little worm thing could, he tried to tackle the bird pokemon.

Flitting backwards, Spearow avoided the attack. Squawking loudly, it mocked the poor bug Pokémon mercilessly. Inching away, it displayed it's advantage over Wurmple before diving for another Peck attack.

(Flitting! I love that word. -flits eyelashes-)
Teddy wasn't hit quite as hard this time, but the pain was as real as before. Tom even leaned forward in his chair - though not enough to be noticeable. The little wurmple, still acting on his own, fired another poison sting at the bird pokemon.

The spearow squawked in dismay as the poison sting struck it in the side, letting out a shrill caw and falling over to rest a bit.
Finally, it got up and ran at the wurmple, intending to land a peck on its nose.

Peck Teddy on his nose it did. The little wurmple whimpered, squirming in pain. Who was he kidding, he couldn't beat this thing alone! It had a type disadvantage! And what if he lost? Would it eat him, too? He glanced to the weedle and wurmple he had been defending sorrowfully, and hung his head. As if to say: I'm sorry.
Tom beat his fists against the arm of his chair. God dammit! Why couldn't he just watch for once? Couldn't Teddy handle it himself? But, that wasn't it... there was something else. Did he actually... want Teddy to win? Not just so he could catch the spearow, but so he could prove himself? "Snap out of it!" Tom hollered encouragingly from his seat. He realized his pokemon couldn't win this alone. "Teddy, wrap it up with stringshot!"
The wurmple's eyes shined with gratefulness. So... his trainer... was going to help him now! His heart leapt with joy at this news. Grand! Grand! Now he could win! Smirking at his foe, he opened his mouth and fired a white sticky film at the spearow, trying to wrap it up in the gooey stuff.

The bird was strutting to the left, sneering in victory, until it was wrapped in thicky, sticky film. "SPEEAR!" It squawked, flapping its wings to escape the sticky glop that one called stringshot. But it only got stuck worse, and finally, it gave up and trembled a little as it watched the wurmple to see what it would do next.

Squealing with victory, Teddy readied his attack - then remembered that Tom was instructing him now. He turned to look over his shoulder at his trainer. The boy smiled and nodded. "Go ahead - tackle it."
Heart pumping, fueled by the prospect of victory, the Wurmple charged full force at the bird type.

As the Spearow was incapable of moving, the tackle hit, causing a great deal of pain. The bird cried out once, before fainting miserably.
All pokemon under level 20 gain one level, otherwise 1/2 a level.
Attempt a capture or not?

Thrill of the battle gone from his veins, Teddy calmly crawled back to his trainer and sat on his head, blinking. Despite himself, Tom smiled - his pokemon had done a lot better than he thought he might have. "Nice work," he praised as monotonously as humanly possible, letting his face fall back to his usual placid complexion. Removing a pokeball from his backpack, he tossed it at the fallen spearow.

The pokeball hopped around violently for a few moments, and gradually weakened until it was simply rotating on the ground. A puff of air escaped from its inside, and it finally turned on its side and stopped.
BEEP.
Capture was a success!

It seems to be holding... a dusty... rock?
Examine the rock that Spearow is holding, or Move on?

(LOL BEEP)
Tom watched the pokeball "dance" with his brow arched. "That's new," he mumbled aloud, fanning away the smoke with a hand. "Well, let's go then," the boy commanded, pivoting his chair away from the scene of the battle. Teddy tilted his head and hopped away from Tom, back to where he had been fighting moments before.
"Wurmple, urm urm, wuuuuur!"
Tom looked back in annoyance. "What is it now? Are there any more..." he stopped, staring at his pokemon. "What do you have there, Teddy?" He inquired as the little bug pokemon hopped back to his trainer and handed him the dusty rock. Tom wiped it with his sleeve to inspect it closer.
(Thomas! Didn't your mother ever teach you to use napkins? )

The dusty rock, now dusted and clear of dirt, was spotless enough to make out what it was. The smooth, slightly bumpy feel... the oval shape... the smell of uncooked breakfast... it turned out to be an egg. And it looked like a rather normal egg, except that it had frickin' EYES that looked like they were perfectly painted on it. Easter bunny, or mistake, or some hobo gave it to the frickin' bird.

the smell of uncooked breakfast... (ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL) "GOOD GOD," Tom yelped, almost dropping the egg when he saw the eyes staring unblinkingly at him. He looked at it again, realizing the eyes weren't real. "Oh... .......okay. That's different then." He glanced to Teddy, who couldn't keep his eyes off the egg. "Wuuurrrmple," the bug cooed. "Ple, ple, wuuuurm..." "...are you singing to it?" "Wuuurm, ple ple, uuuuuurmp, URRRRRMP!" "...." Tom shook his head. "Anyways... I wonder what's inside? And if it's going to hatch any time soon. And who it's parents are," he added as an afterthough. "Mm... maybe it's that spearow's. Better keep it. Teddy, are you... WHAT THE HELL THIS HAD BETTER NOT BE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE," Tom yelled as bits of sticky white film rained down apon him. He yanked his head around to look at Teddy, who was perched on his shoulder. Teddy was blowing something out of his mouth and covering himself with it. His eyes sparkled with delight. "....what the hell.... oh wait, I get it!" Wurmple was no longer there - in his place was a new pokemon. Silcoon! Teddy had evolved! (LOL LOL LOL I'M SO SICK MINDED)
