Chris walked along the pathway, Abel, his first friend (a Charmander) sitting on his shoulder. "Abel, I'm kinda curious about those marks. How'd you get them?" he asked. The Pokemon just turned his head away. "Okay, you don't want to talk about it. I understand" Chris said, gently stroking his partner.

As they walked a Pidgey flew over head then gave a call before it dived down toawrds Abel's head. It was aiming a Tackle towards the Charmander.

"Abel, dodge!" Chris commanded. The Charmander leapt out of the way with great ease. "Now spray it with a light Ember!" Abel nodded and fired the attack.

The bird pokemon had no time to move from the attack and was hit. Shaking off the small flames that soon difted away it flew into the air and flapped it's wings at a great speed to kick up sand in a sand attack. (Hey, you need to make a PC page and put the link into your siggy, okay?)

(I think I did it) Chris had to shield his eyes as the sand attack came forward. "Abel, get out of the way quickly" he commanded. Abel tried to run, but was caught up in the attack, coughing and rubbing his eyes.

The Pidgey took that chance to use a tackle, swooping down on the charmander. It let out a squack of triumph, thinking that it had won.

"This isn't over yet! Abel, hitch a ride!" he commanded. With this, Abel leapt onto Pidgey's back, causing it to crash into the ground. He then gave it a Scratch before leaping away.

((Just mentioning that you always have to leave enough room for the mod/admin/oponent to say whether the attack hit or not))
The pidgey gave a lous squack as the scratch ripped out a few feathers. It flew higher into the sky and used a gust. That stupid lizard wouldn't bring it down!

(Sorry) "Abel, dodge!" Chris commanded. Abel leapt out of the way, but he was hit slightly. "Now hit it with a full power Ember!" Abel nodded and fired.

More determined than it was before, Pidgey flitted to the side, just catching a bit of that ruthless fire attack. Screeching, it dived quickly before conjuring up a massive Gust attack in retaliation. After all, it could hit big too.

"Abel! Watch out!" Chris cried, feeling the urge to run in front of the attack and take it for his Pokemon. Abel could sense this and dove to the side, very narrowly dodging the Gust. "Well done Abel. But we're not out of the woods just yet. Now try another Ember!" The Charmander nodded and fired again.

The pidgey squacked in pain as the fire hit its feathers. It flapped around, trying to put it out as fast as it could, almost forgetting about its foe below. Fire... Have... to put out.... Fire...

"Whoa, I didn't mean to hit it that hard" Chris thought sadly. "Abel, finish this with a Scratch when it gets close enough!" he commanded, looking down. Abel nodded and waited, then when it got close enough, he leapt forward, claws bared.

The scratch seemed to be enough to bring hte Pidgey down. It was to busy trying to put out hte fire that it didn't notice the attack coming. With a thump, it fell on teh ground, fainted.
Abel gains one level!
Catch or leave?

Chris grabbed a Pokeball from his belt. He couldn't bear to leave the Pidgey in this condition, even though it had attacked first. "Pokeball, go!" Chris yelled, throwing the Pokeball.

((...YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT.)) The pokeball shook for a moment before it finally stopped. Pidgey Level 9 Attacks: Tackle, Sand Attack, Gust Cogratulations! You caught a Pidgey!

Chris picked up the Pokeball. "I'm sorry" he whispered. "I didn't want you hurt that badly. Come on Abel, let's get Cyclone to a Pokemon Centre and quick." The Charmander leapt onto his shoulder with a very confused look. <Cyclone?> it asked in Pokespeak, seeing as Pokemon weren't able to talk human (at least, most of them). Chris nodded. "Yeah, Pidgey's nickname" he explained.

Just then, a grunting came from somewhere in the bushes. A large vine extended from it, appearing as if the plant were menacing the trainer and his newly-caught Pidgey.
Do you investigate or leave that plant alone?

Chris smiled gently. "Abel, let's investigate that plant" he said. Abel nodded and moved forward, charging up an Ember just in case.

"Sprout?" Willowy bellsprout poked out it's head, vine-tendril looping around the boy's leg. Easygoing pokemon appeared disturbed by their presence, and the flames threatening to spill from Charmander's mouth didn't ease it's tension. "Beeeeell~"
