Karen Sway had ran out of the lab not a while ago, her green backpack resting on her back, with her new Hikozaru's pokeball in an easy to reach side pocket. It was zipped up of course, but she really didn't want to accidently lose the pokeball on her first day as an offical pokemon trainer. She had her pokedex in her hand, as she looked up some information on her new pokemon, especially its attacks.
"On the road again." Karen started singing sofly to herself to an all familiar tune to her, trying to match her foot steps to the beat of the song. She made a content sigh to herself as she walked along one of the main paths of route one. She had some seriosu training to do, and she planned on staying here for a while.
"Well, I should try to give Hikozaru some fresh air." She said cheerfully as she unzipped the pocket, placing her pokedex in her other hand as she reached getting the pokeball. Opening it up to see her first compainion. Its tail burned brightly from the sun. It seemed very cautious of its new trainer, and cringed as she picked him up.
"Well, I have a name for you, Juan. Its an exotic name." She said soflty, trying to make the pokemon pleased with his new name. Juan only looked up in his trainers blue eyes, not speaking a single word, as he jumped up on her shoulder.
"Want to stay out for a while huh? Alright with me." Karen said cheerfully, placing her pokedex in her jean pocket while she spoke, heading along the path. Juan kept eyeing the area with fearful eyes, he clung to Karen, feeling slightly safer around her, but still didn't fully trust her yet.

(Heck yeah. XD)
Juan jumped up from the surprising voice of another pokemon. It sounded angry too. Karen looked at Juan and giggled. "Come on Juan, it can't be that bad. Stay with me."
Juan gave her a doubtful look while she gave him a reassuring one. "You'll be fine, I promise. We have training to do anyways." She added, as Juan clinged to her leg. Karen walked with some difficulty with the timid Juan on her right leg and peered over the bush. She was slightly taken back with what she found.

Karen gasped and quickly scrambled to the left, Juan fell off her leg and was right in front of the head on attack. He trembled in fear, having the feeling of being out numbered, even when it was really one Pokemon. "Crap! What are those things?" Karen shouted as she quickly took out her pokedex and got the information she needed. "Grass verses Fire, Juan use an ember attack!" She called as Juan's eyes lit up from the confidence in his trainers voice, and he released an ember attack, it came in short spurts, and didn't exactly know which one to hit, but aimed at the one in the center.

The pokemon had been arguing amongst itself again and failed to see the ember. It shrieked in pain and fainted. Wow...talk about weakling.
Juan gained one level
Do you catch it?
Name- gender- level-8 attacks: uproar, barrage, reflect, hypnosis

OOC: To me its exotic. ^_^' Bic: Karen smircked as the emver had made a direct hit on the pokemon. It seemed funny how the Exeggcute kept fighting with itself. Trying to catch it seemed to be a good idea, her father always lectured her on having good balence on a team. This pokemon would fit in just fine. Taking out a pokeball from her backpack, she threw the empty pokeball at the weakened pokemon.
Juan stood still in front of the pokemon, staying still just in case it reared up to attack again. His eyes darted from one to another at each of the pokemon, waiting silently for it to remain in the pokeball. The tension seemed to build up from the silence, Karen even felt it.

Karen let out a sigh of relief as she casually walked over to the pokeball, careful not to step on Juan while she was at it. Examining the pokeball before her, she spoke clearly, knowing that the pokemon would hear her from within.
"You need a nice name, of course with so many of you it has to be....Plural...." She thought this over as she tried to remember a word in another language, which she barely knew and though of one word. "Rosatos. That will be your name." Karen said, placing the pokeball in her backpack while Juan only stared at her. Most likely still not believeing that he could take the creature out in one hit. "You under estimated yourself Juan. See what you can do now? Imagine the world of possiblities you can do with training!" She said as she raised her hands up for the sky, then looked down and gave Juan a wink.
Juan's face lit up as he finally spoke. "Hiko! Hi!" He shouted as he jumped up into her arms, finally being able to trust her on his own. Karen had a firm grip on him as she sighed. "Well, what are we waiting for? We have work to do." Karen added as they started walking through the bushes, in search of battles.

You hear a rustling, this time in a tree. Do you investigate?

"Hiko?" The Monkey like pokemon questioned as he dropped to the ground, staying right next to his trainers legs, as a defense for himself in case of a sudden attack.
Karen didn't see the rustling of tree's as odd, but her pokemon seemed curious, and thats what given her intrest. "What? Something there Juan?" "Hi." It responded with a nodd as the two approached the tree and looked up into the branches.

"Sla......Koth....."
A sloth-like pokemon hang upside down from a tree branch, and yawned at your Hikozaru. 'SLAKOTH!" It said, opening it's eyes to you. You startled it after it's nap, and it became very angry, and pounced down from the tree branch, ready to battle.
The yawn from Slakoth seems to be working on Hikozaru....

Juan shifted from side to side and quickly yawned. His expression seemed nearly motionless as he felt himself fighting sleeping in the day. "Juan? Whats going on?" Karen asked in a concerned manner as her pokedex beeped and answered for her. 'Yawn- A move that makes the opposing pokemon overcome with drowsieness, and eventually sleep' It replied in a robotic voice.
"Well, thats not good, Juan, try to stay awake and use scratch!" She called while pointing at the Slakoth. Juan looked at his trainer, and turned his head in a 'no' motion, he definatly didn't think he could move that much. He was quickly falling asleep.
"No?!" Karen shouted, certainly not expecting this. "Okay, then try Leer?" She asked sweetly, trying to compose herself from his refusal to attack, Juans eyes grew red as he stared at the angry Slakoth. Before falling asleep.
"Drat, now I have to change pokemon!" Karen shouted as she fumbled for her newly caught Rosatos's pokeball, and Juans as well, leaving Juan open for an attack.

The Slakoth didn't seem in too much of a hurry to attack either. It was just loafing around, not doing anything, really. The leer made him lower his defenses a bit though...

Karen glared at the pokemon's lazyness to battle, as if it didn't care at all. Was it mocking her? Growling, she pointed a pokeball and shouted. "Return! Juan, and use uproar Rosatos!" She shouted as she threw out the eexegcute's pokeball. They all came out, and obeyed with no problem, creating a rukus with thier shouts.
"I'm sure that will keep them awake." Karen said, checking her pokedex on its other attacks, seeing what Rosatos's could do in this battle.

"SLAAAAAA!" The pokemon didn't seem to enjoy the noise and used a scratch on the offending pokemon, trying to make the noise stop.

Karen made a sigh of relief, glad that that little plan worked, but now she had to go to the offensive. "Lets see...He knows barrage, reflect, hypnosis .....Barrage is the only attacking move left, we have to give it a shot though, Barrage! Rosatos!" Karen called, pointing straight at the Slakoth. Rosatos grinned at each other, knowing this attack very well, opening their mouths wide, an energy seemed to glow from within, as they released their Barrage attack.
(Uh, I think you have to say how many hits it makes, right?)

((I don't have to, and personally, I prefer not to =P I find it more interesting. As long as no one does anything that doesn't make sense and uses their logic, it's not necessary... that's what I think, anyways.))
The Slakoth had been loafing around again and couldn't block the attack. It sent it back a bit, before the pokemon used yawn again.

(Oh, its just that I saw it on another board. It doesn't matter to me. ) Karen watched the Slakoth, realizing that the Yawn was an actual attack. Looking at Rosatos, who was still excited from the last uproar attack, look at each other nervously. They were being very impatient right now, and needed a command, and quick. "Don't worry Rosatos, just use another Barrage attack and you'll be fine!" She shouted, getting caught up in the battle, as she watched her Pokemon's every move as they unleashed another attack.

The slakoth tried to fend away the barrage but didn't do too good of a job. Even though it was hit rather hard and sent backwards, it once again, loafed around. Uh oh, it seems that Rosatos is also getting a bit drowsy...
