The journey hadn't been so long, but it had come a long way. Already, Chase had 5 great Pokémon; an excellent team. At this point, it was time to train them. Her first gym battle had been a piece of cake, but they would get more difficult as she went along. The next gym, she'd heard, was all about water types. After capturing her Electrike, whom she'd recently named Raijin, she would have to be in shape. With Yggdrasil and Raijin together, she would have a great advantage again, but she wasn't about to let it get to her head.
With all her Pokémon out, she sat down with them and together they calmly munched on a light lunch. Rolls, vegetables, sandwiches, it was all there. Chase hated to adimt it, but she was an awful cook so she often had to rely on pre-prepared food. Arming Chase with a frying pan or pot really meant disaster for her, but what could she do?...It wasn't like the stores did a bad job... Looking around, she remarked her Pokémon. They were really helping themselves to the food. 'They're not complaining' she thought, 'Hahaha...'.
Poseidon was the first to finish and the first to come and sit beside Chase. She put her arm around the little penguin. She'd have to train him next. Raijin looked up momentarily and grinned, licking her lips before returning to her food. She was rather fond of Poseidon. They were both quite small and had a lot in common.
'They're going to be a good team' Chase thought, looking at both Raijin and the affectionate Poseidon next to her. She sighed, 'Just need to train Poseidon..and his confidence'

You hear a splashing noise, in the river below the bridge. Do you investigate, or continue?

"Po-Pochama!" Poseidon called, tugging at Chase's sleeve. With a sandwich half in her mouth, she followed the penguin, who had just leaped out of her arms to lead her to something.
"What is it?" Chase asked, pulling the sandwich from her mouth. As she looked over the bridge, she could clearly see ripples. Heading down the side of the bank as she hurriedly shoved the rest of her food into her mouth, she peered at the water. Poseidon obviously heard something she hadn't.

A goldeen was swimming in the water, occasionnally jumping out for a flip or two. It didn't see the trainer yet...
What do you do?

"Quick, Poseidon, use tackle!" Chase ordered, spotting the Goldeen. She had a water Pokémon already, so this was just experience. Obediently, Poseidon leaped into the water and performed it's attack.
It was at this point that Chase remarked Poseidon's swimming. It was quite developed for a Pokémon that was considerably younger than her others. Brilliant. That was just what she wanted to see. He was a natural.

The goldeen didn't see the Pochama until it was too late. Angrily, it retaliated with a supersonic, sending waves that would confuse the foe.

Pochama swam away quickly, barely avoiding the supersonic waves. He should his head in attempts to relieve himself of any after affects.
"Use tackle again, Pochama!" Chase ordered, having her penguin Pokémon go on the assault a second time.

The goldeen swam as fast as it could, dodging the attack. It quickly came back with a peck. What was this penguin doing over here anyways?

Peck hit Pochama when it least expected it and found itself angered...not to mention a little damaged by the fierce stab. "Chama!" it cried, using a growl attack unordered. Chase wasn't worried. Infact, Poseidon was one step ahead of her in that respect.
"Hold it off Poseidon! Use bubble and follow up with another tackle!"

The first attack hit but the goldeen managed to dodge the tackle. "Goldeen!" It charged towards its foe again, this time used a horn attack.

Pochama was hit a second time. "Hang in there, Poseidon! Dodge to the right, follow up with a growl then tackle it hard!"
It was getting dangerous now. Poseidon was getting into trouble. Two more hits and he'd likely faint. Chase didn't want to allow that; she wanted her only water Pokémon to get stronger. 'Damn...' she thought.

Both attacks were successful, although it also served to made the goldeen even mroe angry. It used supersonic again, sending the waves straight at the penguin.

'Come on, Poseidon..you can do it...' Chase encouraged mentally, biting her lip. "Counter the supersonic with bubble! Reflect those sound waves!" Chase ordered, coming up with an idea.
Poseidon obeyed, but he was tired. She'd have to finish this really soon.

The goldeen hadn't expected that and became confused. It tried to use another horn attack but, dissoriented, it accidentally ran into a rock. "Deen!"

"Perfect!" Chase cheered, "Finish it with one final tackle! All you've got, Poseidon!" And this was it. Her Pokémon had to make the move now or risk losing the battle. This was certainly one of the toughest she ever fought.
"Pochama!" it yelled 'I'm not giving up!'. With all it's force, it spun into a whirling vortex of water and used tackle with a lot of force.

The tackle hit the goldeen, causing it to faint. The pokemon floated to the surface of the water, on its side. Congratulations! Pochama gained one (1) level! What do you do now?

"What the heck!" Chase said. With that, she hurled a Pokéball at the fainted Goldeen. Perhaps she'd already captured her water type, but that didn't mean that she wasn't going to trade around.
Pochama leaped from the water and back into her arms. It was wet, but happy that it had won it's first battle. Chase turned back to her other Pokémon and sat back down. She was hoping to capture some more while they were here.

The ball didn't shake too much before it stopped, capturing the goldeen inside. Congratlations! You've caught a goldeen!
lvl. 16 attacks: peck, horn attack, supersonic, watersport, tail whip gender and name: your choice
Now... how are you going to retrieve that pokeball? You'd better hurry up before some pokemon accidentally swallows it!

OOC: This is so weird. I swear I replied to this ; Pochama ran back in a hurry and made sure to retrieve the Pokéball before returning to Chase. He sat next to her again. The other Pokémon were impressed; even Yggdrasil had take notice.

In a bush near you there's a hat thtat appears to be from some different region. It has written on it something about being an official pokemon league cap. The hat is moving. Do you investigate?
